I shopped around and read reviews before deciding on the Hamilton Beach Belgian flip. I've always enjoyed homemade waffles but totally dislike cleaning up the old style waffle makers. One of the deciding factors for me was that this one has removable griddles coupled with an excellent nonstick surface makes cleanup a breeze. by the second waffle I had found the perfect temperature setting for the way I like mine cooked. I've used it multiple times since and just set the temperature, pour the batter, give it a flip and about five minutes later a beautiful golden brown waffle. Afterwards I unplug the unit let it cool remove the griddles and give them a quick wash (be careful you don't want to scratch the nonstick surface) wipe the unit down with a damp towel and in less than 3 minutes everything is clean and ready to be put away. If you're looking for a Belgian waffle maker I would definitely recommend this Hamilton Beach.

Great price! Easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store. The waffles are true Belgian waffles thick fluffy and delicious. After making them, I remove the plates, place them in the dishwasher. Easy clean. I ordered the waffle maker on Sunday and received it just a few days later. I am pleased with Best Buy and this quality waffle maker

Overall performance was acceptable, but this product did not operate as good as the one it replaced. It is slower to the operating temperature and space between the heating plates allows batter to spill out during cooking. Removing plates for cleaning is a plus. This is one of the higher waffle irons available.

I have only used this waffle iron a few times, but I love it! I love the removable plates, it's so easy to clean. It is a bit bulky for storage and a little over the budget of what I wanted to spend, but it works great.

This waffle maker is easy enough to use and clean. I still need to yweek the setting but it will be fine. I wish it had an "done" light like my 25 year old one had instead of "when it stops steaming" But overall ok

It is a great waffle maker. The best feature that it has that separated it from other ones I was looking at was that the waffle plates are removable so you can pop them out and wash them or stick them in the dishwasher! Most waffle makers do not have this capability and they are a pain to clean properly since you cant submerge whole machine obviously! The only thing that would make this better is if they made a double-waffle maker with same feature so I could make 2 at a time. But overall its a great waffle maker!

    It's the Batter Stupid...

This is the first Waffle Maker I have purchased. After reading a lot of reviews about not only this model but other makes and models I deduced that most of the issues are related to the Waffle Batter Recipe people are using. The recipe needs to be light and fluffy. The best ones use Club Soda instead of water . I found that the directions included with this unit are adequate but on the safe side. My waffles took a full 9 mins to cook at the 3 setting. The unit is put together ok but Like I have read.... it's not your moms waffle maker from the 60's. I like the removable Irons and easy clean up.The key is to watch for the steam to stop !! Waffle On my Friends!!

    Restaurant Quality @ Home

I've always wanted a restaurant quality waffle maker at home and now I have one. Cooks the perfect waffle every time, as long as you follow a few key tips: 1) Follow the directions out of the box for the first waffle. Wash and then grease the griddles with vegetable oil; 2) Don't expect your first waffle to be perfect, but every one after that will be; 3) Learn to time the waffle yourself. The indicator light I've found to be inaccurate. But if you just watch the clock and go about 4-5 minutes per waffle you'll be golden; 4) Use a little plastic cup to fill the griddle and do it from the center, not filling each waffle compartment separately. Definitely takes a couple tries to learn exactly how much waffle batter to go with. If you overflow the first couple times, don't worry, it cleans right up; 5) Get fun with it and add some extras to your batter, like blueberries, bananas, chocolate chips, etc... Enjoy!

    Nice Waffle Iron

I like this waffle iron. The biggest advantage is having the removable plates. There are a few design flaws in the waffle plates, they put circle indents on the high part of the waffle that traps food, I actually use a Q-tip to clean it. Also, it is a bit bulky to store and it gets hot, but not as hot as my previous iron.

I was looking for a great waffle iron and finally found it! It is super easy to use and clean. The waffle iron plates actually come out of the main component--this makes the clean up such a breeze. I am incredibly happy with this purchase!

Love this waffle maker. Super easy to clean, drip pan is wider than other models. 4 stars only because the handle can be a little clumsy to use if its not locked place right

Easy to setup, store and clean. Makes good waffles. I am used to the irons that make 4 square waffles with little holes. This waffle iron makes big thick waffles and the kids don't enjoy them as much as the old waffle iron. But can't complain about the ease of clean up. With both top and bottom irons popping out and being dishwasher safe... that makes it worth it right there.

I bought this waffle maker for my parents and they really like it. The waffles come out fluffy on the inside but slightly crispy on the outside. Flipping is good and the grids and tray are very easy to clean. We only wish it had an audible tone to tell us when the waffle is done cooking but we can live without that feature.

I love this! I use the recommended amount of batter and it looks huge thick crispy waffles. I let my cook pass the ready light that turns green. I cook mine till the steam is almost gone I always have before the light nonsense just a tip.. the removable irons make live easy and cooking waffles is no long having to hand clean your waffle iron just throw these in dishwasher or hand wash.

It uses more batter than the hotel waffle irons and makes a light, fluffy waffle with nice crispiness with some brands of mix, and a heavy brick of a waffle with others. I've found that trying to get a consistently thinnish batter helps. It would be nice if the irons could be reversed for sandwiches. Older models frequently were multi-purposed like that.

I'm very happy with this purchase. With the right recipe, the waffles are very light and fluffy inside and slightly crispy on the outside. It has a ready when hot light and a light to indicate when done. I leave them in another minute to make them darker. Removable plates makes cleaning so much easier!

Just made waffles again for the 2nd time. They were great. I love the removable plates which allows you to clean the unit of any waffle and they can go in the dishwasher. The variable temperature control also allows my wife to have her's crispy while I like mine softer. The folding handle saves storage space.
