Amazing sound quality and the personal assistant experience with Cortana has been great especially with Skype calling and Spotify.

Like all voice activated speakers I feel like we have a ways to go. Giving a command like play music is easy and having cortana read your calendar is nice but limited. Adding things to say a grocery list are nice but they are only on my phone so does not help for the family. Sound is good but I think there is more room for improvement.

The sound and quality of this speaker is absolutely great. Cortana seems to work very well and the microphone is crazy awesome. Alexa has been replaced since this can also integrate with SmartThings. Will definitely be picking up another one for friends this holiday season!

When searching for a smart speaker, the primary feature I was looking for is sound quality. Second was AI and smart features. The HK Invoke delivers excellent sound quality compared to all smart speakers that are currently on the market. However, it isn’t as capable as Alexa when it comes to integrating with other products. The speaker is beautifully designed and has a premium finish. To make the most out of this speaker system, I suggest that you subscribe to a music streaming service.

As a speaker it’s worth $100. Great sound. Downside, it has to be plugged in. No beach, or park.

Using this device is frustrating... asking it questions takes several takes, using it for tasks sometimes works, I will be watching tv and all of a sudden it will start talking to me The software needs to be worked on to help make it better as for the hardware the sound is great, microphones can pick up from 20 feet away without having to yell. Not overly heavy but it does have some weight to it! At this time I would not recommend this item, but if it is worked on and is improved I can see myself telling people to this item!!!! If it had integration with Amazon or to Apple even google products it would boost its need!

    Outstanding Speaker

I have Google Home, Home mini, Echo, Echo dot and Amazon Tap. This is easily the best sounding speaker out there with crisp highs and controlled lows. This is really how speakers in this class should sound. The build quality and feel of the device is excellent. On the smart home front I connected it to my Samsung Smartthings hub and was controlling things in minutes. I found Cortana good, but not on the level of Google when it comes to the information provided. Strange thing, I prefer Cortana over Google for many of my purposes.

I was with contained expectations on usability of a personal assistant attached to a standalone home speaker. Also aware that Microsoft and Cortana's low popularity could affect performance. However, given the extremely poor sound quality of the competitors , decided to give it a try. What a surprise! I am extremely happy with it. Had exposure to Alexa and Google on regular basis and not only the sound quality is lights year better but Cortana is not bad at all! Only Apple's Siri seems better, but no option availbale on the market to date

I absolutely love this device! It plays podcast, the latest news, and music. It also answers questions for me. Hats off to Microsoft and Harmon Kardon for this device. Careful not to get it wet with humidity, as it can damage the product! I've had to replace mine about 3 times!!

The Harman/Kardon Invoke speaker does produce pretty fair sound and does get very loud with no distortion, but I unfortunately can't say much more in favor of it. In my opinion it is not worth $200. I actually only paid $100 and I am going to return it tomorrow for an Echo Plus. The specs say it has an integrated IoT hub, but it does not, repeat not, have one. I bought 2 Philips Hue bulbs and they are totally useless with this thing. Cortana has very few skills and is far behind Alexa or Google in capabilities. This is another in the long line of Microsoft failures. This thing is like a Porsche with an engine from a Ford Pinto. All looks with no real guts.

Great product. Speaker is very nice. The only downside is when you ask Cortana to turn off the lights, she’s not as fast as Alexa or Google.

So far I love this thing. I mostly use it for music, alarms and reminders but we have been asking it quite a few questions lately and it mostly nails them every time.

High quality speaker. I picked this up on sale for $100 and am very pleased. Cortana sounds crystal clear and she (it?) understands what I say with ease. I still have to figure out how to best integrate this with my phone and other devices, but so far so good.

Cortana needs a lot of work

The Invoke has really nice speakers and the hardware is top notch. Easily higher quality than any other Assistants. However, the buggy Cortana software pretty much reduces the Invoke to a music streamer from your phone. Fortunately, the Cortana app for iOS and Android that makes that simple. That's good because Cortana as an assistant really stinks. I have to give her a (basic) command over and over again that I don't have to with Alexa or Google. Cortana is also very limited with the number of skills compared to the other two. Maybe that comes in time, but right now, I would have a hard time recommending Cortana and the Invoke over either Alexa or Google Assistant. And I couldn't imagine paying full price of $179.99.
