My kids were all born very large (90th percentile), but since my wife and I are 5'6" and 5'2", respectively, our kids each settled on the growth curve between the 1st and 5th percentiles. As a result, all three of our kids were considered "failure to thrive" because they couldn't possibly gain weight at the same rate as their birth weight would typically produce. As a result, we almost always make 3-4 office visits per week to track weight in our kiddos. For my last daughter who was born in August 2019, we finally splurged and bought this scale to track her weight at home to make sure we were staying on top of the feedings. THE GOOD: -Extremely accurate. It was slightly different than the scale at our doctors office in total, but the fluctuations in weight were almost always the same between the office scale and this -The free Hatch app is top notch and could easily have been made as a premium perk to go along with this scale. The weight is automatically recorded in the app, saving you the work. The app is also compatible with Alexa to also record feedings and diapers without having to manually add it. This is great for those middle-of-the-night feedings. -Easy to clean -Does not slide. We have ours on the top of a wooden dresser and it feels extremely secure, even as your kiddos gets older and more wiggly. -Functions as a great changing table once you grow out of the obsessive weighing stage THE BAD: -No display on the scale itself so you must have a bluetooth device nearby to see the weight. -Pricey for what it is (but honestly, when you're desperate for accurate weighings, it's 100% worth it)

We have used this changing pad and we live it! Easy to clean! Just wipe it down with a disinfectant wipe. Tracks weight accurately. For pumping moms you can track time and date of pump and how much you collected. You can take daily pictures of baby to see their growth in pictures. You can track feedings and diaper changes. I highly recommend it!

So my wife asked me to buy this recently for our newborn. I didn't really understand why we would need or want this kind of an item but I did what I was supposed to do and bought it. Once we got it set up, which was pretty much instantaneous, I saw that it was both helpful to have a changing pad area the baby looked comfortable in but it was neat to weigh her and see how she was doing weight wise after only a few days old. We've been using each day since then and can see with pretty good accuracy her growth in terms of weight. The only issue we had was that ut occasionally is off and has to be reset back to zero. This could be because we have moved it and put it out of calibration or it could be just thr way it is. That is pretty quick to do but has been annoying sometimes when it is off by a lb. Overall, nice piece of baby equipment

It’s great. We don’t use it as a scale though lol. Too much going on and not worrying about baby’s weight is the last thing we want to add to our plates. It’s really nice, it holds baby into place well and when they start to roll like mine is doing now- it keeps them from rolling too far and put them right back into the middle due to the sides going up on it. It’s soft enough to provide padding but super easy to clean. We have had tons of blow outs poop and pee everywhere- this does not stain at all. Love how easy it is to clean, sanitize and how safe it is.

Our second child was born four weeks early due to placenta previa. Fortunately, no major problems (thanks to our awesome medical staff!) except for being on the small side. Only prescription was to feed him to help him grow more outside than was possible in the womb. While in the NICU, our baby was constantly being monitored, logged for sleep and feedings, and weighed for growth. After a little more than a week, we were thankfully released to come home with our baby! While being in the hospital was uncomfortable and a horrible feeling leaving our baby at night, we knew that our child was getting the best possible care with all the medical and technological advancements. However, leaving the hospital we knew we would not be able to have all those same benefits or piece of mind. We immediately knew we wanted to get a scale to track our preemie’s growth. That’s where the Hatch comes in!!! The primary reason of buying this Hatch was to be able to keep a log of the growth of our child in the app. If that’s all it did, it would have been fully worth the price in my opinion. After buying it and starting to use it, the app does SO MUCH MORE! Not only does it accurately weigh our baby, log the weight, then graph the progress and tell us the percentile (just like regular doctor visits), but you can log all the feedings, sleeping, length, pumping, diaper changes, and more with incredible detail! You can also create a photo history of your child to see how much they change over time (we don’t use, but cool feature). And add a care giver (nanny/baby sitter) setting to monitor/log data when you’re not home. This app helped us get back the piece of mind we lost after leaving the NICU. That being said, the app and scale are only useful if WE (the parents) use it correctly and on a regular basis. Is this “scale” expensive, yes if it were only a scale. But as I detailed, it’s so much than just a scale and worth every penny! BTW, I never write reviews and usually have my wife write them. However, this product/app has impressed me so much, I felt obligated to share with all parents and especially those who might have been in a similar situation as us.

So the answer is most definitely yes the hatch baby smart grow and scale changing pad is worth the money my wife and I have used this since our son was born and its absolutely great to be able go see real time weight from your child on your phone because oh yeah its bluetooth compatible and you don't have to wait to go to the doctor's office to find out what your child says, not to mention you can track their feedings and the diaper changes it's a wonderful product.

If you are like me, you have a smart phone, smart home and want to continue the trend with your newborn. The Hatch Baby Grow Changing pad allows for just that. Paired with a pretty awesome app, you can keep track of feedings, wet and dirty diapers, baby's weight, and sleep. For any new parent that wants to keep their own track of how their baby is growing and wants to be on top of all the questions that you get from the pediatrician, this is the way to go.

We were concerned about our infant was eating enough and growing at a healthy rate. This scale helped ease our minds and let us have peace of mind that our little girl was growing and healthy.

It zeros out quickly and just lay baby down and the weight appears instantly. No delay onto the iPhone. Love it.

Our newborn was not gaining weight so we needed to weigh her every day, multiple times a day to see how much she was eating each feeding. It comes with a usable app that allowed me to track weight. I still use it weekly to ensure she is still maintaining her percentile. I also add in height so I can track that too. The Bluetooth can be a bit finicky. Qnd you need to have your phone pretty much right next to the scale to use it.

Hatch baby is probably one of the top few newborn items that are well worth the investement. We love how we can keep track of his feeding amount and also it has all the necessary tracking options for wet and dirty diapers to keeping time track of the feeding. The Baby Hatch scale is both awesome and disappointing at the same time. It's namely the price that brings it down, because the free app allows you to log everything manually. The scale simply does the "weighing part" a little bit easier. In terms of performance, it works great. But good luck finding how to use it in the app. It turns out, there's a small picture of the scale in the app's home page, you hit it to make the connection. It runs off 3 AA batteries which is appreciated and it operates over low energy bluetooth so it should last a while. It's very sturdy and easy to clean. I wouldn't think it's as comfortable as a normal changing pad (which are all cushion) but I'm not laying on it, and my newborn has yet to complain. It is nice to use but again, you can get a "dumb scale" and enter the weight into the app itself and have the same results.

Baby was born with higher than normal jaundice and the scale helped while monitoring her weight. Like that it is really precise (just like the hospital scale) and was really helpful in making sure baby was gaining weight.

Does all kinds of fancy stuff with the app. I just use it for accurate weights and measures (the app tracks the history for you pretty easily).

The product was alright other than the smell the foam used has an extremely potent chemical smell. Also it was to long to fit in our changing station. Check measurements before purchasing.

Awesome app and great scale. We had concerns with our LOs weight and in between doctor visits this was defiantly helpful with peace of mind.

Can you tell me how much your baby just pooed?? I can! All joking aside, really useful for breastfeeding and entertaining childish fathers everywhere.
