Included ArcSoft software not what it used be. Cheaper version than in the past? Could not take a still frame snapshot while editing converted file. Can only take while viewing the tape from VCR. Also, tried to record my own homemade VHS tape and after one minute of recording, a copyright message would popup and stop the recording. Obviously not an acceptable glitch.

The composite video "cut in and out" due to a faulty connection between the device and the device's pigtail that contains the video connections.

I needed a simple device which would allow me to stream live video to my desktop during a web conference so that others on the conferece could see what we were doing in real time. Video is of mobile phones and tablet devices, so the "auto exposure" features of even high end web cams made things blurry. This device allows me to connect a high quality camera to my computer and manually control exposure and focus. Works great! (For this purpose, be sure to put the Hauppauge device in "gaming" mode, otherwise there is a delay.)
