Bought this tv for the kids to watch movies and play games. It has transformed our family room to our favorite room in the house. We all congregate together and share in the experience Of watching movies and our favorite shows. The kids helped set it up - it was super easy, logged into our accounts and done! Best purchase of 2020!

The TV is dead after 2 years. It's on but the screen is instantly flashing with some bad colors, technically not-useable anymore.

Bought in April 2020, the Hisense 55" LED UHD R series Roku platform Smart TV. This TV impresses the people that know a little something about TV's. No issues whatsoever in 4 years of constant use. My TV is never shut off for long. I change picture and sound settings constantly depending if neighbors are home. Great backlight, hooked up laptops, a basic brand old media box, without problems. Easy to reach and see plugs on rear of TV. Fast response/never a delay with commands using TV remote. 3yrs/same batteries. Multiple sound & picture choices include movie, vivid, music, speech option focuses on the voices, no big volume flux in shows. I use that when neighbor's home. I took measurements to ensure the size n distance I'm watching from matched the suggestion shown on pics of TV at bestbuy.com. Friends still comment on how good my Hisense TV picture looks and how I click through so quickly from home to menus to Roku live tv to apps streaming Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, Prime never having an issue. 2 friends bought Hisense TVs, 1 got Roku, other got Xumo. No complaints. Worth purchase. User friendly, held up great in the almost 4 years. I research all purchases big n small, goal is, get the best on an extremely tight budget. No regrets. Daisy, my furbaby, loves to watch too, see pics. Happy TV shopping to you!

I was looking for a larger TV, and wanted to check out Roku TV's. So far, I have been pleased with the picture quality and also having Roku built in, even though I do have Roku boxes. It was very easy to set up and I also added my soundbar to it as well for improved sound. As of now, I have no complaints with one slight drawback - the remote. It seems like much cheaper quality than what I have with my Roku boxes. Also, there is no plug-in for your headphones/ear buds in the remote control, which is very disappointing. This is definitely one area Hisense needs to make an improvement. There is a plug-in for private use in the back of the TV, but nowadays everyone wants either wireless or some easy connection as in a remote. The price was great I thought, and Best Buy delivered to me for free, due to our current virus situation. The TV is very light for its size and was easy for me to set up and position on my stand on my own. For this price, I would recommend this Roku TV.

Picked up this 55" a week ago. Great price under $230. This is my
first UHD TV. Also my first Hisense TV. Have 3 premium TVs
(HD only) by Sony, Samsung, and Sharp. This picture quality surpasses the others easily at a total cost of $2250 when they were
new. Sound on the Hisense was OK but kind of boomy, so I added a
Insignia sound bar and an 8" Dayton sub woofer. Now, the picture
and the sound are both outstanding at a budget cost!

The picture is great, the size is great, the feet are strong with no wobble. Plenty of hookups.
Only concerns are it dropping connection via wireless network when it gets turned on (not every time, but most times), and hiccuping between selections when browsing inside apps. Also the remote has to be directly pointing at the base of the TV, so make sure nothing blocks it and that you're not pointing at the floor or at something in between.
Great TV. Would definitely recommend as a first time smart.

I bought this TV in desperate need of a TV and it was the cheapest but the quality Inn sound is phenomenal I would get this TV again in a heartbeat if I ever need another TV why pay five $600 for a namebrand when you could spend a lot less for the same amount of quality if not better

I've been impressed with this TV so far. For the price, it far exceeded my expectations.
Pros:
- Excellent picture quality with a very bright panel. 4K HDR content looks great.
- Pretty good sound quality for this price point. The sound holds its own against the other 55" 4k smart TV (Vizio) i own that i use a sound bar with. Great highs and mids, but suffers a little with bass levels. Not bad though for a TV without a sound bar.
- Roku OS is fantastic. Adding apps to the home screen is very easy, and i was able to find almost every app i could think of that i normally use to stream TV shows, movies, and sporting events.
Cons:
- If you're looking hard enough, you can notice the panel is brighter around the bezels. Taking the screen off its default 'Bright" setting helps, but you can still tell a lot of the light is coming in from around the edges of the screen.
- There's no way to display the resolution while playing a TV show or movie. Its nice to be able to check whether you're watching in 1080p or 4k.
- The remote is very small with very few buttons, one of them being VUDU. It would've been nice to have a remote that offers more customization as to what app you'd like to go into, but the home, back, and volume buttons are easy to find.
I haven't tried gaming with this TV yet, so am curious how the 60Hz refresh rate holds up. I think we are getting to the point most displays have higher refresh rates, but since this is in the budget category, i wasn't expecting much else.

This is a pretty good 4k TV for the price, but some of the advertised features/specs seem exaggerated. The picture is ok, but even though it claims to be an HDR set the peak brightness and contrast ratio leave a slightly dim and overall muddy picture when compared to more expensive sets.
The built-in Roku works very well, the TV seems responsive and relatively snappy when using the app and changing app channels.
Motion is handled well, no ghosting or smearing even when watching sports.
For the price it's a good set, I would recommend to anyone on a budget.

bad tv's and remotes

Bought this tv 5 months ago. Beautiful picture but acquired a bright dot in lower left corner. I sent them everything they asked for, full screen of all corners with dot and name on bottom corner, model and serial number on back of tv and they still tell me they cant see all four corners. But i can. This has been going on for two weeks. They are fighting me on this the whole way. I still give them what they want and then thats nit good enough. I will go buy a name brand tv as shoot this one before i ever buy a hisense pruduvt again. Also the remote is the biggest joke ever. The volume and mute is on the side wich you touch all tje time and no numbers to actually go to another channel. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT AND WASTE YOUR MONEY. Bright light is flash, dot is bad spot

I love this Hisense TV with Roku included. It's exactly what we were looking for—and, most importantly, stayed within our budget. For the price, this is an excellent deal with so many fun games in the app store, which you download and play for free. The one thing that is a bummer though is the sound isn't the greatest quality. It's not noticeable when we listen to Spotify or other music channels, but sometimes watching television, I feel like the background audio is louder than the voices of the main characters. The same thing with background music in a movie—the music is often so much louder than the actual dialogue. And there doesn't seem to be any way to fix this either. Scrolling through the Sound Control area in Settings, there's only a handful of audio styles to choose from—most of which are absolutely pointless and no one should ever use. The only workable audio settings are "Normal" and "Theater," and neither one fixes this. I'm on the fence about whether I would purchase this TV again. I think yes, for the money, but if you can afford a more expensive TV, the sound quality of this could definitely be improved.

I had a beautful 60" Sony Bravia 4k tv since the day 4k was a new technology. unfortunately that bravia's screen was damaged in my move to a new residence. I replaced that tv (which was expensive when the technology was new at the time.) with this tv, mainly because of the price. I did a ton of research on this particular tv as i was hesitant to sway away from Sony for the first time. I looked at a ton of customer reviews good and bad, and also went to youtube to watch reviews and comparisons to get peoples opinions. well, turns out this is a great tv, I am a gamer so the 60mhz was enough for gaming. but the picture is surprisingly nice. Once you adjust the picture to your liking it looks fantastic. the speakers are actually really good for tv speakers as well. Set up was super simple. i like the roku interface. easy to navigate. also the tv gives off almost no heat. My universal tv stand fit perfectly. This tv is not very heavy at all so its not too cumbersome to set up as one person. im happy with the purchase. I would recommend this tv if you want 4k and to save the money. i would also recommend this tv if you need an additional television for your bedroom or a gaming/family room. thumbs up.

TV looks great, picture quality is a nice upgrade from 1080.
Tv picture is brighter along the edge of the screen causing some bright areas on dark scenes. Software is hit or miss, all apps are susceptible to a hiccup that de-syncs the audio from the video. Apps sometimes randomly close also, so that's a thing. If you have other devices hooked up (I have an xbox in HDMI1 and chromestick in HDMI2) they stream content with out the glitches.

Thank you for your interest in Hisense USA. We sincerely apologize for the issue you are having with the apps on your television glitching. Please perform a factory reset on the television by going to Settings>Device Preferences>Reset. The television will then shut off and after coming back on will prompt you to set up the TV like when it was just out of box. If this does not resolve the issue please give us a call at 1-888-935-8880 or email us at [email protected]. Thanks Again,
We look forward to hearing from you!

I purchased this to replace an almost 10yr old 42" Panasonic plasma 1080p (which is going to the basement now). While this is not a QLED/OLED picture, it is more than sufficient for my old eyes. Screen refresh (120hz) is good enough for fast motion without really noticing any blurriness. I have used Roku devices at some rentals in the past, and I find this to be both responsive and full of features. Three things in particular. If you connect an HDTV antenna, plug a usb stick in the back of the TV and you can "pause" it up to 90 minutes. Second, if you install the app on your smart phone, you can make it act like the remote from a standalone Roku (remote control and headphones). And for network/Roku, it connects to your wi-fi reliably.
Overall I am happy with my purchase, and would recommend this to anyone looking to dip your toe into the 4K waters without going neck deep.
