Hisense 65" U8 TV Review: Hardware Hero, Software

This Hisense 65" U8 TV is a serious contender for anyone looking for top-notch picture quality without the top-tier price tag. # Hardware Heaven Picture Perfect: The display is simply stunning. Brightness, color accuracy, and black levels are all excellent, making movies and shows truly immersive. Sound Sensation: The built-in speakers are surprisingly good. While a dedicated soundbar will always be better, the U8's audio is more than adequate for everyday viewing. Value Victor: This TV delivers premium features at a mid-range price, making it an incredible value. # Software Stumbles Google TV Glitches: While Google TV is generally a smooth and enjoyable experience, I've encountered occasional hiccups with the photo screensaver not loading correctly. Guest Account Gripes: The requirement to have a Google account for profiles is frustrating. I don't want to share my account or and shouldn't be forced to create a "guest" google account either. Overall: Despite the minor software quirks, the Hisense 65" U8 is a fantastic TV. The hardware is outstanding, providing a truly cinematic experience at home. If Hisense can iron out the software wrinkles, this TV would easily be a 5-star knockout.

So my 65” tv in my living room I’ve had for 4 years died and I needed to replace it. After buying this Hisense 65U8N I’m glad that happened, all I can say is Wow!!! I am a movie fanatic and this TV does everything I would want a TV to do. The build quality and astetics are museum quality, features like a heavy metal adjustable hight center pedestal, 2.1.2 built in Atmos sound, minimalist bezel, metalic like backlit sleek remote. This TV is like having the best Cineplex in your living room, with Dolby Vision IQ and IMAX Enhanced I have the best 2 theater formats to utilize as well as HDR10 and HDR10+, all the bases are covered. No matter what movie i watch, I’m assured its going to look amazing. Speaking of looks, the black levels are amazing, I bought this set knowing it had 2000 diming zones and it really showcases that especially in dark scenes. This TV is bright, yes very bright, the contrast and colors are reference quality. This TV rivals my OLED in my bedroom with black levels, but has more color pop because of the brightness. I couldn’t recommend this TV more, the value for the quality and performance is there. Rival sets cost double the price, and I have piece of mind with a 2 year manufacturer warranty. If you are looking for what may be the best TV for 2024, especially for movie lovers, look at this Hisense.

This is a fantastic TV! I've owned much more expensive models (C4, QN90C, etc) and the HDR performance if much more impressive than either of those models. Granted, I had the 42" and 43" models, respectively. This TV is extremely bright, the operating system is fast, and I've experienced no issues with performance. There are some quality control issues with these units. Mine has what looks like a piece of lint trapped behind the glass. It's barely noticeable unless I'm looking at a solid bright color like the sky in a video game, but I know it's there and it DOES irritate me sometimes. I was surprised by the sound. This TV has good BASS! I have no need for a sound bar with this TV. I've honestly never heard a TV sound this good. Overall though it is a great TV for the price. Hisense really is competing with the big boys at a much lower price. Oh, and my husky (pictured) loves it too!

I was looking for a television to replace my 16 year old 55 inch Samsung. I wanted something nice, but didn’t want to break the bank. I first was looking at OLED, but I have somewhat of a well lit room, and from my research, those tvs don’t do well, plus I was concerned with burn in. So I came upon Mini-LED, which do better in well lit rooms. I went back and forth between Samsung, TCL, and HiSense, and finally pulled the trigger on this one. It does not disappoint. The colors are bright, and vivid. The sound is great. It is great for gaming, whether you have Xbox,PS5, or PC. Plus you can not beat the price. Do not sleep on HiSense. Great television!

What a wonderful watching experience! I especially love the different visual modes—especially sports! I’m not sure if the clarity comes out in the photos, but when I’m watching movies, it feels as if I’m watching it live!Setup was easy; adapting the picture and sound to fit my needs was easy. I’m glad we chose Hisense! Excellent quality at a realistic price!

This is an amazing TV The picture quality is excellent. The google tv interface is very easy to use. Setup of this TV was very easy. This is my first time owning a Hisense TV (I normally will go with Sony or LG) but so far so good. I have a Bose soundbar attached to it but found that the TV's sound is fine without it.

Good picture. Colors seemed off at first, but look good now. Can't figure out how to connect soundbar though. It's all set up but doesn't work. The TV sound is good but not super loud if there is any other noise/talking in the room. Otherwise it is easy to use and we are very happy with it.

Got the 65”. This TV rocks! So happy i got it. It competes with TVs thats are 2-3x more expensive. Near OLED blacks while being brighter and will never fear burn in. Sound is also impressive. You cant go wrong with this model

I am absolutely BLOWN AWAY with how INCREDIBLE this TV is!!!! Long story short, I initially bought a TCL Q651G (underwhelmed), then a U6N (Not quite bright enough for my living room), then a QM7 (Screen defect), then a U7N (then the U8N 55" went down to $700), then a 65" U8N (realised the 55" only goes up to 1800 nits). Don't get me wrong, none of those options are bad by any means, but I need something I'm going to have for 2+ years and still say "wow" when I turn it on. Picture quality far exceeds anything Mini-Led from Samsung, LG, or Sony at the price point (and just beats out the QM851 for my preferences). First off, this TV is BRIGHT (3000+ nits!) and extremely colorful! Hisense's QLED technology makes them absolutely jump off the screen with how vivid, clear, accurate, and saturated they are. Blacks are 98% of OLED (though there is a small bit of blooming when extremely bright highlights are displayed on a black background) and stay BLACK! Image processing could be a bit better, but it's excellent for anyone who's not an absolute cinephile. For my tastes, the motion handling is very very good as well, I have zero complaints, though its not as good as an OLED (which is really the only thing that can beat this TV aside from the Bravia 9). One of my favorite aspects of this TV is its sound! The speakers are clear, loud, and deep! The built-in subwoofer gives it some real punch to the point where I don't even use my old Sony HTS-350 anymore. Yes, it sounds that good! Google TV is fast, intuitive, responsive, easy to use, and just a joy to use. If you don't like certain picture settings, it has multiple picture modes that can all be customised in a multitude of ways. SDR, HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG are all supported. Gaming on the 65U8N is a DREAM! No input lag, fast response time, low latency... this TV has it all! In my opinion (and many others), this is a better television than ANY other at this price point! You'd have to spend north of $2,000 to beat it!

Good tv. Nice vibrant colors & very bright. Sometimes almost too bright. Sound is good but could be better. A good sound bar should be considered just in case sound is too tinny or muffled.

I purchased this TV strictly for PC gaming, so far it has been outstanding! Yes, the OS has a few quirks and not that easy to navigate through but overall the picture is awesome. If you don't like the soap opera affect you need to turn off motion flow, I had to google where to find the setting. Go to Rtings and try their picture settings, you're welcome!

I needed a tv for my extremely bright living room that had floor to ceiling windows. I usually buy oled but knew that I’d need something way brighter. I did my research and found out that this tv was the brightest on the market. So I went to Best Buy to check it out. To my surprise, it has contrast nearly identical to oled, competes with colors on my old and is bright enough to burn your retinas at full brightness at night. But it’s also perfect for daytime! Very very happy with my purchase. Give Hisense a chance!

Our first HiSense and definitely not our last! After two horrible experiences with Samsung TVs and reading so many positive reviews, we upgraded to HiSense and wish we had sooner. The colors, the quality, can’t be beat. As a family that watches lots of movies and has two mini gamers- we all noticed the difference IMMEDIATELY. Run, don’t walk. You won’t regret it.

The Hisense U8H is a top pick in its price range. It combines great picture quality, good gaming performance, and decent smart features for a balanced experience. If you’re looking for a big screen with solid performance at a reasonable price, the U8H is hard to beat.

Im going to keep this short. Buy it! It is a great TV at that price point. I think I paid roughly 1000.00 for 65". I hage no regrets. My past TV was also a Hisense. You wont be dissapointed. It is a little heavy though and make sure you understand how it mounts to the wall so you get the right mounting kit. The stand that comes with is bulky and sturdy but also adds a lot of weight. Just hang it if you can. I dodnt have the right mount. So lesson learned. The picture I posted doesnt do the quality justice. It has an OLED quality picture at an QLED miniLED price point.

So far so good! Got it around November and have been enjoying Netflix shows and movies and the display looks great! Gives you an OLED look. The only thing I’d say you have to think about is adjusting color when you first set up. Display gets really bright, but think about getting a 55” if you have a small bedroom instead of the 65” that I got. Overall great TV!

Great tv at a great price. Very bright picture even in a well lit room. Excellent performance with video games. The sound is surprisingly good, no need for a sound bar with this one. Set up was very easy, but I recommend a second person to assist because it's a large tv. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase.
