I’m giving this 5 stars mainly because you won’t find a better TV for the price and it does deliver a superb picture that rivals most “bigger name” brands. I was on the fence between this and the Sony X90L (which isn’t even mini LED) mostly because of how well Sony is known for their processing (this thing is no slouch, though) and my old Sony’s still work quite well. But I liked the fact that the 75” Hisense U8 uses an ADS Pro panel meaning the viewing angles are great as opposed to VA panels where the picture looks a little more washed out from the sides. The only downside is that the contrast may not be quite as great, but I haven’t noticed much of a difference with this and the 55” U8H from last year that I purchased for my living room. Upscaling is solid which was one of the things I was worried about. The brightness level is insanely good, blacks are deep, very little blooming. Out of the box the picture is very good but I always like to play with the settings I set mine up in the basement in my “man cave/ home theater” and for movies I like to set it on “Theater Day” and jack up the backlight a little. Haven’t tried theater night yet but I hear that’s the most accurate. All in all, I would absolutely recommend this, especially for the price. At $1300, you won’t find a better TV and you’ll be spending at least a few hundred bucks more to get something that’s a little better.

This TV is everything I hoped for and expected. Still wondering why I didn't buy it sooner? Picture quality - The HDR & Dolby Vision is supberb - it automatically activates on support content. The brightness is extreme, but not overpowering. Watching dark movies, you can actually see the shadowy figure in the sea of black. Animated content looks AH-mazing and surreal. Gaming - My Xbox Series X was sad without a 4K TV to show off its true power. Wow - does this TV give it that opportunity. Game Mode is amazing to make picture tweaks, adjust brightness, refresh rate, HDR, all with simple to find controls and on-screen info. Games look crisp and amazing. Sound - dude - turn this thing up past 15 and you'll be immersed in room filling audio that is crisp and clear. The various audio settings nail it - from Speech to Dynamic to Late Night Movie, its spot on. Ease of setup - this comes in a very large box. Find a friend to help you. We had it delivered by the Best Buy Pros and they dropped it right where I needed. With a few screws into the adjustable base and a gentle hoist, setup is easy. Be careful not to pinch it. Remote &UI - love the integration of GoogleTV. It's easy to use, knows what content I like, seamlessly belnds all my apps and streaming services. The remote even controls other ARC devices. A+++ Ports - 4 HDMI total with 2 144hz+ HDMI inputs, yes! USB galore to power your various streaming sticks and such. Easily accessible and clearly labeled. This is an AMAZING TV that does all the things I need/want for a fraction of the price. You will love it!

Totally happy with my 75" U8K

Ive been using my 75" Hisense U8K with ADS Pro Panel for about 10-12 weeks and I cannot believe the vibrant colors and brightness and contrast I am getting from this panel . On hi def sources from 8 feet away the images are breathtaking and I have a hard time taking my eyes away from the screen . I've posted some HDR sources as well as movies in 4K and 1080p , SDR and sports , as a sampling across the board . The blacks are convincing enough to be OLED like although my Samsung S22+ had a challenging time reproducing the most colorful , vibrant and brightest images . It's worth the effort to make picture adjustments on the sources you're watching be they streaming , SDR , Bluray or 4K discs . There are a plethora of adjustments so take your time and you won't be disappointed . You can always reset your parameters and redo them , but remember practice makes perfect and you'll feel like you've fine tuned a luxury car when all is said and done . Dolby Vision movies as with many other brands can be a little finicky , on some streaming platforms such as Fandango/VUDU you can switch out of 4K and into 1080p which the U8K upscales nicely , and voila the pop and vibrancy will come back . Over the past months there have been meaningful updates which have mitigated some software and performance issues , although you may have to go into your picture settings to partially retune things . The Google interface seems to have its own picture settings , which you will have to set first (I suggest the brighter and more vibrant the better) . Once you get into your sources and streaming , use the Hisense to make your final adjustments . It can be a little finicky but well worth the effort . Sound ? The U8K can play pretty loud with acceptable bass and dynamics but I use a soundbar for 100% of my listening . In sum this is a budget reference TV which can offer years of enjoyment . Just baby it , learn its parameters and you will maximize your viewing with this great MiniQLED TV . I have a 55" LG A2 OLED and yes its panel is pristine compared to LED panels . Kudos however , to Hisense's U8K as it's designers will cause you to doublethink the differences between LED and OLED . This is an amazing TV and I am one happy camper .

Love this 75” Hisense TV. I had a 65” Sony Bravia that was double the price of this Hisense 75”and it died in only 4 years. I had bought a Hisense 50” on sale for our bedroom. Loved it so much we bought 4 more. 1 for each teenager and 2 for my parents in there 80’s. So when the Sony bit the dust I was looking for a new main family room tv 75”. I did weeks of research and couldn't find a better option for the $$$ than this Hisense 75”. We have had it a few months now so I feel like my review is honest. The picture quality for normal movies and shows in HD is amazing. The blacks are super black, and the colors are vivid and super bright. It has picture modes that meet what ever you are watching. The real test is the picture quality in sport mode for sports like Soccer, Football, Basketball, and UFC is amazing and it has zero lag. Our old TV was fine but with high speed sports it had picture lag. The Google platform is user friendly and easy to navigate. I cant brag about it anymore other than I would put it up against a similar Sony or Samsung a dsy long and you wont be disappointed.

Best mini LED TV on the market

I was looking for a mini LED tv for my living room and after doing a good amount of research I found the Hisense U8K. Initially I was thinking I would finally get an OLED tv but I am still wary of burn in issues and dont want to risk it on an expensive tv so I decided mini led would suit me better. The higher brightness on the U8K is great for sunny or well lit rooms, the picture is very clear and I have been enjoying smooth HD sports and gaming on xbox series x in 4k. I was going to go with the 65" panel at first but when I discovered that the 75" is the only one with an IPS display that made up my mind because the viewing angles are much better compared to the VA panels on pretty much every other mini led tv on the market. I highly recommend this tv, it has great picture, great viewing angles and good sound as well compared to other flat screens I have owned in the past, it actually has a small subwoofer in the back, so maybe try it out and see if the sound quality is good enough for you, although it wont be better than a home theater speaker system naturally.

I am truly amazed by this TV. I have had a 55" LG OLED for the past 7 years but recently moved and needed a larger screen for a bright room. I didn't know what to expect from mini-LED, but I was absolutely blown away by the picture. It's obviously not going to be as perfect as OLED, but it comes veeeery close, and it's pretty much the only option for bright rooms. This is at least twice as bright as the brightest OLED on the market. 75" is an IPS-ADS panel as well so the viewing angles are also great. Sound bumps as well...on the fence as to whether I actually need a soundbar for this yet. Can't recommend this TV enough.

Amazing TV and pretty significant upgrade to the Hisense U8H this replaced. I purchased the 75" with IPS PRO panel and the contrast ratio and black level seems to be just as good as LCD. The viewing angle seems to be better than the U8H but not that significant of an upgrade as is the actual color pop and clarity. Honestly, that is what makes this tv great.. it's the Pentonic chip! The clarity of lower res content is sooo much better than the previous models. Blacks are inky black and banding quality is way better than the previous U8H. The gaming portion is absolutely superb!!! It has been the best gaming tv I have used. I have used Sony tv's in the past for gaming and this one actually tops them off. Its the pentonic chip making 4k content look just absolutely stunning! This is true for 4k content on streaming apps as well! The bad: -The worst issue on the tv is the lag and stutter at startup. It seems to happen only at startup. I usually go to youtube and it gets super choppy and lags. Anytime i click on a video to play, if i start to look at the suggested videos whilst watching the current video, the current video stops playing completely or lags and stutters horribly! This fixes once i exit youtube and launch the app once more. Its super annoying but fixable. -Well, the local dimming isn't the best and seems to be an issue with most newer TV's. Seems to be a bug really with the built in apps on the tv. I only watch streaming content from the built in apps like youtube, disney, paramount, netflix, etc... seems to behave different on all apps. I am debating on trying to use the ps5 or something else to run the apps to see if its the built in apps on the tv or just the tv itself. Will update once i have tried and tested this. -Blooming seems to be a little worse compared the previous U8H and is a bit more noticeable. This is especially apparent on the startup screen when it shows the "Hisense" logo. (I uploaded a couple pictures of this and are the 2nd and 3rd pictures. Both are at night. One is with rhe lights on, the other with the lights off in completely dark room.) Some people call ot "IPS GLOW" and it is seen on the corners. I still prefer this over the horrible banding the U8H had. Again, depending on the built in app you are using. Youtube seems to be the worst as I assume its also based on the compressed and much lower quality content as well? I dont get this issue with disney+ or high quality netflix content. Again, it's apparent on lower quality netflix content. Not an issue while gaming either! Picture of PS5 homescreen on last picture.

I just want to say I'm very impressed with this tv. Colors are amazing, brightness can probably blind you lol, and the 144hz is solid. I put it to the test running my 4080 gpu, playing msfs and modern warefare 3. Absolutely no complaints. Oh may I add the sound this tv provides with built in subwoofer is overkill but I love it. Hisense is killing the competion with its flagship U8K series!!! I think there are people that want to game on these tv's and this allows just that whether you own a console or a pc. Absolute winner!!!

The colors are amazing. I’m watching old stuff and seeing shades of colors I had never noticed before. The blacks are nice and solid, none of that different shades of gray or pixelated stuff in dark scenes. It’s also super bright, maybe it’s just that I’m used to my older TV but I had to play with the brightness and contrast to get it so that it doesn’t hurt my eyes. It has so many picture setting too. Easy to get it to look exactly how you want it. Honestly it’s a great TV.

This is a fantastic tv. The 75 inch has a pro mini led ips panel that has amazing viewing angles. I have an lg c3 next to this tv and i prefer the picture on the u8k. Sound is surprisingly deep as well. No issues at all with the TV. Motion is also really good... i owned a 65 inch u8k and the motion was a lot worse.. no idea if it was faulty or if its because of the pro ips display found in the 75 inch.

I decided to upgrade well after Christmas and Superbowl sales. Happened to find this 75" with a great rating, and a price per value that couldn't be beat thanks to the March madness sale. Even with it being LED and a narrow viewing angle this TV looks great from anywhere on my sectional. Was very easy to set up and the Google TV moves effortlessly with 0 lag- (its so good i didn't use my newest gen 4k Chromecast). The quality with Dolby vision on hdr movies is impeccable, and playing games on my ps5 has been amazing. Was not expecting such a good response time from such a large TV. Call of Duty looks absolutely flawless. If you can still get it on sale you won't be disappointed, I even bought the 5 year warranty (cus why not).

Went out on a limb and bought this TV based on what I seen in the store on display, youtube reviews and rtings comparisons. Coming from a 1st gen, extremely burnt in Sony OLED (65" A1E) I knew I wanted to go bigger so I opted out for the 75". This TV is extremely bright compared to what we are used to. Had to turn that down. But if you are struggling with not wanting to go to an LG, Samsung, or Sony but dont want to pay their prices, I would say hands down get the u8k! I am not disappointed at all! Keep the box for a few days. We found a bug inside the screen (an actual bug was caught I guess in the manufacturing of this particular one). I called Best Buy customer service and they without question replaced (and delivered) the tv at no cost to me! Great service great tv! In Detroit the NextGen tv stations work great without issues, the quality of the the picture it produces is great. You wont get the Sony processing but this is the next best thing amd for the price I am very happy!

Was looking for a 75 inch TV to replace a failing Samsung and decided on the HiSense mini LED ULED U8. This model offered the best bang for the buck and was rated to be comparable to OLED, but at a much lower price then OLED. The Best Buy salesman was very helpful in showing me the HiSense, the TCL competition to it, and answering all my questions. Best Buy is the only retailer in my area that carries this model and size of the HiSense, and offers a price match guarantee, so I went ahead with the purchase. I am very happy with the TV and with the fact Best Buy offered free delivery.

The U8K is OLED picture quality, contrast, and black levels at LED tv prices. This tv is AWESOMENESS!! I’m really speechless about this tv. However, I would add a sound bar to further enhance the sound quality. I add the Bose 900 sound bar to my 75 inch U8K and the results are pretty impressive. The Dolby Atmos sound from the tv is far from lackluster, but I would just add one to get the total effect of what this product has to offer. You don’t need a sound bar, but it totally enhances the experience. The gaming is fantastic also. If there is a(slight)weak point, it may be the motion handling. But it’s not a deal breaker…AT ALL! The picture is stunning, absolutely stunning. Clear, bright, clean, with great colors and textures that pop. I have several LG OLED tvs and one Sony OLED. I never thought about MiniLED until I was at BestBuy and seen the display. I did some research and found excellent the value is on this tv and went for it. I’m still a big fan of OLED(LG OLED), but Hisense carries and incredible value and bang for your buck that OLED offers, but at a staggering cost. Give Hisense MiniLED a chance, you WILL NOT REGRET IT!

Apparently the 75 inch model has a different screen with slightly worse contrast, but coming from 10-15 year old TVs, it doesn't matter, it's an incredible upgrade. The picture quality is excellent after a little tinkering in settings, and the max brightness HDR in a dark room is something to behold. Also, it's an amazing display for the Playstation 5!
