I got the fan and it snapped together nicely meaning it is pretty much plastic. And that also means it is easy to take apart and clean- should be done at least once a year. Anyway, Its a good size fan and gives a good breeze with three speeds (Not that much difference however), a tilting head and the option to oscillate. It is fairly quiet so it would be good for sleeping but it does make noise. This fan is perfect to place on a table and point to the ceiling on the oscillation and let it it cool the entire room as the breeze scatters. The biggest con of this fan, and in 2023 it IS a con...There is NO REMOTE CONTROL. Not sure why any decent fan would be without one but I took one star off for it. As summer approaches, a good fan can make all the difference. If you are not bothered by the lack of a remote control, then I suggest this fan. Since I got this for my bedroom and then I saw there is no remote, I took another one we had with a remote to use in my room. I like this fan but the lack of remote is a deal breaker

e Holmes 16-inch Big Breeze Table Fan is a welcomed addition to our overall comfort here in sunny southern California. To do our part and cut back on the use of our air conditioning system, we take this fan and put it at floor level, right in front of an open French door (with the screen shut, of course) every morning while we’re enjoying our coffee and reading the newspaper. Note: I know it’s not the safest idea to have a fan right in front of an exit, but we only do this in the daylight. This is not a high traffic area, so there’s no danger of tripping. The fan is also lightweight for its size; easy to move out of the way. You may be thinking that this is a “table fan,” so why are they using it on the floor? Because that’s where the coolest air is, silly. Science! The fan that this replaced had three wider blades (similar diameter). The Holmes Big Breeze provides just that…a huge breeze. Substantially more air is being moved at the same speed than that of the old fan. Maybe it has something to do with blade design? I know, I know…science! This was easy to put together. That task maybe took 3 minutes. Of course, I am a fan expert, so your mileage may vary ;-) The ONLY thing I wish were different? Push buttons for speed regulation instead of a dial. Not a deal-breaker, but it would be nice to change the fan’s speed with my big toe instead of having to reach over and “turn that dial.” Boy, am I lazy or what! This is a good fan. Lightweight (for its size), quiet, and powerful. Holmes has seemed to be a reputable company, so this should last for years.

This fan is more than enough for anyone's tabletop cooling needs. I got the Holmes device shipped to me and I was surprised at the size of the box being so big for a tabletop fan - Please be sure you know what you're getting here and look at the product dimensions. This fan is roughly the size of some free-standing fans, but without the longer neck and lower pedestal, instead being converted into a tabletop unit. That makes it a GREAT choice for workshops or other large areas where a tabletop setup is ideal, but large cooling areas or mass air circulation might be needed. The fan is EXTREMELY light also - Its not composed of the typical metal or dense plastic parts - Its mostly ABS plastic which makes it extremely light (even the blade guard is all plastic instead of traditional wire ones) and this adds to the lightweight nature of the unit. The fan is also VERY quiet despite its ability to move massive quantities of air quickly using its 6-blade vanaxial/propeller hybrid design. The design aesthetic isn't anything too fancy, but the black gloss finish is typical of Holmes products and will likely fit in just about anywhere. Its an inoffensive design that looks good at home of in the office as well as the shop. In short: Good, strong, quiet fan - Made of lightweight materials at a good price. Would recommend.

    Simple budget friendly tabletop fan

The Holmes 16” Tabletop fan is about a simple and as effective as it gets. It’s a niche item people don’t usually use year round, but when they need need a fan you expect it to do its job. This fan is exactly that. It’s all plastic so it’s not that heavy. It sits nicely on its base and is well balanced. My only complaint about it is that it is a little bit too basic. The body of the fan snaps onto the base, and to me that made it feel a little cheap. But if you look at the price point, you have to save somewhere and maybe that was the mindset here. But when you compare it to the overall performance, there was no skimping there. The fan simply puts out. They claim to make 25% more air than a standard fan, and I’m not sure it that is accurate or what they are making the comparison with. But it definable puts my other table top fan to shame. It could have to do with the fact that it has six blades vice the standard four. There are three speeds, using a simple knob. You can adjust the angle of the fan as well to aim it up or down, depending on your needs. And even at the highest speed it’s not very loud. I could definitely sleep with it on. At the end of the day, you are buying a fan for a purpose. You have a budget and that depends on you. But this is a very budget friendly fan that performs and will suit your needs. I would recommend this to a friend for sure, if they are looking for a simple to put together and operate tabletop fan.

    Keeping It Cool

The fan has three speeds: low, medium and high. The high speed is pretty powerful. I had it about 20 feet away and could easily feel the breeze. You will need to pull the oscillation knob up to adjust the fan to go from side-to-side. This fan can really move the air around for you, especially when you are oscillating the air. Make sure to find a flat surface near a plug and you will be cool in no time. I plan on turning a room in my home into an art studio this summer and feel this will work well to keep me cooler while painting. This fan is powerful and lightweight. It does need some assembly, as most larger fans would need. Putting this together for the most part was easy enough. The motor shaft and housing needs to be clipped into the base stand. The fan blade unit needs to be screwed into the housing. Make sure you screw the blade cap counter clockwise. The only problem I really had was putting the front plate on. You need to make sure everything is aligned before pushing the tabs into the slots. The assembly took about 15 minutes. This fan is definitely large in size which I believe makes it so powerful. It is rather large for a table or counter in your home. However, if you have the room, the power of this fan makes it worth getting. If you work in the garage, I think this fan would be absolutely perfect to keep you cool while working.

I was very surprised at the size of this fan, it was larger than expected. The description indicated that it was a desktop, but it is a little big for that. I can still use it in my office, but it would need to be on the floor. Out of the box I was not impressed, the directions were terrible. The pieces were shown in diagrams, but no indication of where to find them. I was looking for the screws, but they were attached to the metal piece in the middle of the fan. Very confusing. The fan is all plastic. It does not loop of feel very top quality. It looks ok, but not a solid feeling devices. It does not seem like it will hold up well over time. The fan is pretty quiet at all speeds, no complaints there. It is pretty light, so moving around to different rooms should be relatively easy. It rotates nicely and does not make a lot of noise as it moves. There aren't any bells and whistles to this fan, it is a pretty basic fan. It has 3 settings, and there is a knob to move to each one. My only complaint with this fan is that there is so much plastic, which is not a very high quality plastic.

    Cool Your Room Quick!

In this year of ridiculously hot temperatures, air conditioning systems can only do so much. Having something that can push air around can help distribute cool air and help keep a room more comfortable. This Holmes Breeze Blaster table fan is just the ticket to get that accomplished. With 6 angled and finned blades, with fan can put out a tremendous amount of air with little extra noise. Black in color, the housing is a strong plastic. The base doesn't take up too much room but helps with the stability of the fan. It has the typical knob on top of the housing to put the fan in to oscillation mode or to keep it in one position. The head can be tilted up or down in about 30 degree angles. This allows placement on higher furniture so it can be angled down (or up, if trying to push higher, hotter air around). It has three speeds with the sound going up relative to the speed. At its lowest speed, it's almost silent! It has outstanding output with a good breeze even at its lowest setting. If you need some additional airflow during this super hot season, this is an excellent device to help with that. The Holmes Breeze Blaster is the way to go!

Holmes 16-inch Big Breeze Table Fan

The Holmes Big Breeze Table fan requires assembly. After unpacking the unit can be assembled without the use of tools. The fan can be assembled in 5-10 minutes. The speed control knob has 4 positions Off, Low, Medium, and High. To oscillate the fan, depress the Oscillation knob. The fan oscillates about 70 degrees and can be adjusted up and down about 20 degrees. The Holmes 16-inch Big Breeze has a 6-blade fan. This unit moves a lot of air on high. The angle of the up and down direction of the air flow is adjustable by loosening the motor and adjusting the motor, then retightening the motor. The base is large enough to fully support the fan from tipping while in use. The footprint of the base is 11 inches by 12 inches. The fan grill is 19 inches across, and the fan stands 26 ¾ inches tall. The plug is polarized with a built-in replaceable glass tube fuse. This fuse is accessible by a slide lid on the face of the plug. The Holmes 16-inch Big Breeze Table Fan comes with a 3-year limited warranty.

    Six Blade Difference

Ok, I am not talking razors here. If you currently have a 3 blade or 4 blade fan, do yourself a favor...Upgrade to 6 blades. The air movement, even on lowest setting, is impressive. I measured 29 feet away and could feel the breeze noticeably on LOW. On High you knew it was blowing from across the house. Yes, I had to set it up to blow down the hall way to get a measurement, that is how much of a difference the extra blades make. If you have any other osculating fans, you know how to put these together. The model I have is table top, and it is FANtastic. The base is plenty wide enough to prevent tipping. The head is adjustable rotating up and down and the fan osculates. One bad thing, the directions were less than clear, fortunately I have put together enough of these that I know the process. The one nut was already screwed into the base that holds the fan blades in place. It was put on in reverse of how it should have been. So make sure you check the hub before thinking a piece is missing. Overall, after getting the fan together, there are no complaints to be had. Highly recommended. Just don't try to shave with it, that could get messy.

I am usually a fan of Pedestal fans... I usually don't like the ceiling fans because the air flow CFM is usually not as great as the Pedestal fans. I already have a Lasko 20 inch fan which we really love it as it is very powerful. We bought this for our other bedroom. Pros: 1. Very Powerful - This Table fan is almost equivalent to the Lasko pedestal fan despite being just 16 inches and also being a table fan. I compared between these 2 fans and did not find any major difference between both. This fan is even powerful than the previous 16" Lasko fan pedestal fan that I had couple of years ago. Even we can use this to cool a bigger room and this is not just a table fan. It's beyond that. Simply super powerful. 2. 6 blades - The number blades is not 3 or 4 like other fans. The 6 blades makes a huge difference. It's increases the air circulation. 3. Quiet operation - The fan is really quiet even on high speed. One would hardly hear the fan running. This is a huge plus as we can use this fan at work without having to worry if it will be loud for people sitting around. 4. Adjustable head - It's very easy to adjust the head with almost not much effort. 5. Easy to install - It hardly took not more than 5 min to install this fan. Manual will be helpful to guide the order the parts should go in. 6. Speed adjustment - The speed adjustment is something I really like as we have the lowest speed after Off. This was a big pain on my older Laskos especially in the winter as the first speed from Off used to be High. I often think how dumb can one be to design it in that order. Infact I would appreciate Holmes to consider this while designing the fan. This is basic common sense to have the Lowest speed the Medium and then High. Thanks to Holmes for being thoughtful. Cons: Only con is the adjustable knob looks pretty old in design. This is not a big complaint but if the Holmes consider redesigning it, that will attract even more greater audience. Overall this a great product and one should definitely buy it if you want to feel the difference between the other table fans which are in the market. You will never go back to a different brand.

Not much to say about a fan. Packaging seemed ‘dismal’ but nothing was broken or lost. Parts were wrapped in plastic for protection along with some cardboard spacer, inserts and wraps. Don't really need instructions to assemble, just note the screw that holds the fan on is reverse thread and put the back side fan guard on before the fan. Either take a quick glance at the photo in the instructions or do a quick read of the 5 steps listed. Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to assemble. It will also be nice that the fan will disassemble as easily for cleaning when the time comes. The power switch has a nice feel to it, some fans I have used, the speed detents are close, or the knob is small and it's hard to find the speed you want. The oscillation button clicks on and off nicely. The fan also tilts up and down manually between detents. If I had one complaint, I wish you could pivot the fan up more. I use it on the floor, in front of my bicycle trainer and treadmill, it would be nice to get the air flow a little higher. On the high setting the fan moves a nice amount of air and does so quieter than another 16” fan I have been using. 5 out of 5 for delivering what I would expect from a fan.

This Star Elite fan is 16" and suitable for a table or dresser. Where I live, there is no air conditioning, so I was looking for a new fan for the year. This is a basic, no frills fan, no timer or extras, just 3 speed settings and oscillation button. The build is decent, made out of plastic. Took about 5 minutes to put together. On lower power, the sound is minimal and non intrusive. This changes by the top speed. You can really notice the motor here. Now on one hand, this fan got a tad shaky and noisy when it's oscillating. The good news is that motor is pretty strong! In all fairness, if you need a fan going this high, your probably worrying about other things, ie. heat for example, like my house in the summer months. I'm looking forward to the impact this fan will have once triple digits really hit. I also wanted to bring up the assembly. Aside from heat, I deal with dust where I live as well. I didn't think about it until I needed to, but being able to take apart the fan to clean it, is great! Overall, I'm enjoying this fan. Doesn't have a premium feel to it, but a strong motor. Small handle in the back helps for transporting too.
