The hardest part of set up is getting in out of the box, and even that isn't so hard. The tubes and the window guard are easy to attach, and then it is just a matter of choosing the right window. There's no heavy lifting to get anything into the window, and much less of your view is obscured than with traditional in-window a/c units. There are a couple of places to run drainage pipes for condensation that may collect inside the unit, but this seems more appropriate for houses. I live in apartment so that isn't an option. Instead I just unplug the unit once every week or two and open the drainage plug. I could probably go much longer, as there is usually only a few ounces that come out. (I imagine there would be more if I were using the dehumidifier function. The only other annoyance is, as with most a/c units, it can be a bit loud when it is running full blast. All in all it was a good purchase. I live in a 960 square foot apartment, and it cools most of it. (I keep the door closed on one room.) I have been thinking about going out and buying a second, smaller unit in order to complete my coverage. So if that doesn't speak to a general satisfaction with the product, i don't know what does.

Bought this to fill in until my central ac system is replaced. I was surprised at the ease of installation and use. Love the remote control and I have not had to empty the water basin at all. It cools the room better than I expected. The only downside is that this system is louder than a window unit. But overall, I am very happy with the unit.

It took me several minutes to get the unit to the third floor, it is not a lightweight or small unit, I recommend getting someone to assist in transport to intended location. The hose has to be placed at a certain angle to be most effective, limiting my options for location of install. Once in room to be placed the unit installed in minutes and was up and running. This unit effectively cools and maintains the temperature in a two bedroom apartment (with proper placement of fans, purchased separately).

We purchased this item because our upstairs is always the opposite temperature the rest of the house is. It was so easy to set up, a breeze to operate it, and it quickly brought the temperature to where we wanted it. I would highly recommend this Honeywell Portable Air Conditioner and Heater .

Have only used the AC. It blows cold but I found it inconsistent. Not having to empty a water tray was a big plus. Installation was easier than other units I've used. Remote control was easy to use and also from a decent distance. Probably better than most. I bought on sale so worth it. I don't think I would have paid full price.

Unit cools down a 450 sqft room from 80F to 74F in 2-3 hours. It is a bit loud and it needs to be drained after each use, depending on the humidity level. The timer is quirky and I have yet to see it work. The unit does not automatically restart when the temperature rises above the preset level. One must restart it manually. Overall, the unit helps during hot and humid nights.

It collects water and sometimes will require draining. Great to use in rooms that need to be cooled down in hot humid weather.

My recommendation would depend on the space you are trying to cool. This works great for a standard bedroom with a standard ceiling height...even then, I wouldn't rely on this for a room any larger than 300 sq ft. AND....for a room with any kind of "vaulted" ceiling, it is somewhat useless. At best it would keep the temperature the same.... I remember one particularly hot day of it running all day, it kept the room equal to outside. Turning off the AC and opening the windows did a much better job of cooling down. also very loud... You can still have conversations and watch tv, but when you turn this thing off, there is a collective "oh, that is much better," Small apartment with standard ceiling heights, yeah.. might work... But for our 500 SQ ft living room with vaulted ceilings, it was useless.

I really like it because it makes my house cold when it is hot

Cools down our large 1st floor and is quieter than I expected. Easy to install, Looks nice, self evaporating, no water to empty. Hose is stiff, so it is sturdy, but not flexible so the unit has to be several feet from the window. Have not used the heater function, but it will be handy in the winter.

I bought this unit to cut on my cost on centralized ac. So far has worked beyond my expectation. I have placed it in my master bedroom which is around 400 sqft. Works great even on hot days. In fact it gets too cold at times and I have to turn it off. Would highly recommend this. This unit can also heat a room but I will be able to test it next winter.

Also like the fact that it has a heater so when the cold weather comes back which i hope is soon. Ive already bought 4 of this units for different reasons and people

So far unit works good. Easy to set up. I haven't had long enough to see how much electric bill will change but have used both AC and heat and both work well in a 12 X 24 sun room with high ceiling

This is a high end multiple use unit. Good power, but sometimes switches unknowingly to dehumidifier. Could come with more flexible hose and a bit longer would be nice But overall I am happy with the performance.

Works like it's supposed to..Definitely keeps my 500sq foot room cool.

Was concerned about how well it would heat and cool . Very impressive , both functions work better than my expectation. I want to purchase another soon but will pick it up in the store. It was delivered slightly damaged but nothing major.

Purchased it for my wife and her classroom. It was getting rediculously hot for her and her students. The school wasn't going to purchase an AC unit so I bit the bullet. This AC unit saved her, and her kids, life! Works fantastic and can be used during the winter too as it gets cold around here.
