The best dehumidifier

Best for a large basement.. the humidity was rising in our basement to about 60. Right away upon plugging in made a difference.
Now we have it draining with an outdoor hose (purchased separately) into the pump tank.
Initially every 8 hours had to drain the container.
Highly recommend. Also it’s WiFi friendly.. would get alerts as to when the tank was full.. able to adjust any setting from phone etc. the best! Also the pic from the thermometer is in the basement.. it reads exactly what the unit reads.

Was initially very warm but that’s a rare occurrence now. WiFi was fairly easy to set up but not useful if you have a drain. The fan, which runs continuously, is ok if you are not right next to it. Overall, very good at drying a humid basement and I would happily buy again. Especially since it was the only one Best Buy had.

This machine is easy to get setup(especially if you use the Honeywell air comfort app) it jumps right in to operation which is quick and efficient and my medium sized basement had a world of difference in just 2 days. I am very pleased with my purchase and look forward to utilizing more Honeywell products in the future. Smart products are definitely the future of home convenience.

Very nice product. It doesn’t seem to turn off after reaching the set humidity if done manually. However, if you go through the app & set smart thresholds for turn on & off at certain humidity it works flawlessly. Has helped to prevent any flash mildew growth in the garage we were having issues with with this summer heat & the always cold cement floor. App works without a flinch, surprised honestly, works more reliably than my eufy security camera app

This is exactly what I needed to keep a consistent humidity level in my piano room in FL. Not too noisy, and easy to empty, and it’s a sleek design that doesn’t detract from the rest of the room.

Humity Sensor calibration way off
|
|

The humidity sensor is way off with no way to calibrate. I have 2 other humidity sensors that are within 1 degrees of each other and do not fluctuate wildly, and this dehumidifier is off by 2or 6 as it fluctuates wildly, One moment it's 52% next second drops to 48% then after a few min up to 51% then it fluctuates up and down 1 or 2 degrees. Also once it reaches it's low set point it the condensor shuts off but the it shows the humidity rise 4 points in seconds so the unit never shuts off because it does not stay at set point long enough. My other sensors show the levels increase a degree every 45 mins after both dehumidifers are off(The Honeywell I had to manually shut off). I exchanged for another thinking it was faulty but the exchanged one behaves the same way. I called Honeywell's support line to see if there was a way to calibrate they said no and if I'm not happy with the way it's working just return it. So I'm returning the second unit. It's a shame because the App and connecting to WiFi was easy and handy and noise level was pretty low. I got my old 15yr old Whirlpool dehumidifier on a smart switch and a ZWave humidity sensor and Smartthings hub works better than this brand new Honeywell dehumidifier, only thing it's really loud.

This is a great dehumidifier. We currently live in a basement apartment and it’s really helping with the humidity. I haven’t used the app feature that much since I empty the water myself. The app may be useful if you are planning to drain it and use continuously.

I bought this Honeywell dehumidifier to replace an Amana one that was defective and noisy. The Amana was a 40 pint and this Honeywell is a 70 pint.It seems to pull more moisture out and it quieter than the Amana.
I have emptied the water tank 20 times since I plugged it in. It almost reads the same as my Nest thermostat.

No manufacturer warranty support

This model is bad and has never performed well. The ice censor failed within 3 months and the compressor has leaked its coolant. It no longer works. It started with a huge ice chunk on the cooling fins so large the plastic housing broke behind it. Now it only runs the fan and displays and error code e3 related to coolant leak. Reaching out to the manufacturer that is actually jmatek not Honeywell for warranty claim has resulted in them ghosting me. It is still within it's full warranty of 1 year yet they have stopped responding to my emails. They initially continued to ask for more photos and videos. I have sent them and haven't heard anything back for 2 weeks. I have sent multiple follow up emails asking for an update. Nothing. Never buy a jmatek made product as this is how they support them....but just ghosting you and hoping you go away.

So disappointed

I was having issues with condensating HVAC ducts so my HVAC technician told me to go get a 70 Pt dehumidifer. After some research I loved the wifi functionality of this unit. I got the unit home and within less than 24 hours the condensation issues were completely solved. I emptied the dehumidifier in the morning and notice no water had bene pulled from the air when trying to empty that evening. The entire back panel of the dehumidifer had a thick layer of ice on it. The unit says it could start getting frost on it around 41 degrees F, my basement hovers around 65. I set the unit outside, blow dried the ice off it and left it out for 24 hours. Within an hour of having it hooked back up it froze over again. I went and exchanged for a new unit and frost was no longer an issue however every time i turned the unit off it sounded like it was going to die. I ended up exchanging this for a GE 50 Pt model. I miss the wifi functionality but the unit is overall much better made and I don't feel like I'm going to be out nearly $300 in a few months when this thing bites the dust. I'm really disappointed in this unit.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you because of the dehumidifier. Sometimes, frost appears on the coils when the dehumidifier has been recently turned on in low room temperatures (usually below 41°F (5°C)). This is normal. Frost will disappear in an hour or so after the dehumidifier is switched off. Our customer support team will be able to suggest another unit that meets all your requirements, should you need to purchase another unit. Please feel free to get in touch with us at 1-800-474-2147 between 8:30 and 5:30 PM EST (Monday through Friday) or send us an email at [email protected], with the reference code number BBA0728. Humidity sensor calibration is 10% or more off. This is the second unit and replacement is off like the first unit. I have several humidity sensors around the house. When the the Honeywell dehumidifier is reading around 43% the other sensors are reading 31% humidity. Also, at times there is a high-pitched whine coming from the unit. I will be returning this unit also.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. The humidity sensor senses current humidity in the surrounding area. It is normal for about a 5% variance above or below the actual relative humidity in the room. Therefore, if there is a slight variance, the unit may sometimes operate slightly longer or shorter than the set RH% level. Our customer support team will be able to look into all your concerns and troubleshoot for you. Please call us at 1-800-474-2147, Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (EST), or send us an email at [email protected] with the reference code number BBB0604. We look forward to making this right for you. Thank You !

The unit froze up in a 67 degree (F) room the day after I bought it. Coils completely covered with frost. Meanwhile, two GE 70pt dehumidifiers produced two full buckets each and the rh was still 50%.

After 13 months of sporadic usage in our finished basement with central air running all the time, this unit has stopped pulling any moisture out of the air. Completely disappointed in the quality of this purchase and for the price I paid thinking I was buying quality.
