Got this vacuum on a clearance deal for my daughter. It's replacing a bagless she had. She says it works great so for the price this was a great deal.

Works well, like the disposable bag, works well and neater disposal of bag, vs bag free designs. No filters to purchase as the bag is the filter. Does a good job on carpet and bare floors. Overall this is a great Vacuum for the price.

I purchased an Erueka vaccum cleaner that I had toi work on twice as much time than I actually used it.
This is a nice change, just grab and vaccum!
I am thinking of buying two more for upstairs and downstairs.

i had a canister style and a bagless and i like this one the best. for starters,i got tired of dragging canister around and cleaning the cloth filter/bag-thing. the bagless was alright but kept getting mold/mildew in filters and in the dust cup after washing them no matter how long i sat it out to dry. then you gotta WAIT for it to dry. the first time i didnt notice it and turned the vacuum on and the smell was HORRID. i couldnt get the smell out of my house for a WHILE. i think it's more of an inconvience to keep cleaning the dust cup out than to simply pop in a new bag. no need to wait for anything to dry! the suction on those 2 were decent. but this Tempo is what's happening now! great suction. easy to use. lightweight. freshened up the appearance of my carpet nicely. works on floor good. etc, etc, etc!!!! Glad i went back to ol' school vacuum!! and still get the HEPA micro-allergen benefits of these new vacuums thanks to new bag technology. i should've been switched back. who cares about windtunnels and cyclones, right?!!!?!?!!!!! LOL!

Good vacuum for price

With alot of research online and also at local vacuum stores, this Hoover gives you alot for your money. It is light weight, not many vacuums out there can claim this, except for the very expensive brands that are approx 8 lbs and cost hundreds of dollars. This vacuum is lighter weight than most any other vacuum, bag or bagless, with a very good price. The only drawbacks are the noise (it is very loud when running), and it generates hot air from the vent (also when running). But the pros are that it picks up well, we have a full carpet house and it does all the rooms without having to empty the bag until the end. It is easy to carry upstairs and so far has not had any problems. We've only had it a few weeks, but it seems to do a good job and didn't cost a fortune. We said we will see if it lasts a year and if not, will go and buy one of the more expensive brands, so time will tell. All I can say is it is better than the bagless brands, lighter weight and does what it is suppose to do which is vacuum. All at a affordable price. Thanks HOOVER!!!

Outstanding vacuum

This is the best vacuum cleaner I have ever used. The suction is outstanding. My previous vacuum would require going over and over the same spot and it still wouldn't get the dirt up. Plus, by the time I would be done with it, my shoulder & arm would be sore from pushing it back and forth. That is a problem of the past with this Tempo Vacuum. It is so easy to use and seems almost like it is self propelled. It sucks up dirt, hair and other stuff that gets on carpet extremely well and does it quickly. I haven't used any of the attachments yet. But, was impressed that it does a very good job getting dust off the baseboards, just by vacuuming next to it. I really like that it uses bags, so I don't have to deal with dust going all over the place when it needs to be emptyed. The only negative thing I can say about it is that it is very loud. That is easily solved by some earplugs. The first time I used this vacuum, I was amazed at how the look of my carpet changed. It is five years old and looked older. After using this vacuum, it looked brand new. The price was as awesome as the vacuum. I bought it on sale for under $60.00 . I would definitely recommend the Hoover Tempo to anyone that wants a vacuum that is easy to use and does an outstanding job getting the carpet clean.

A very value priced and very powrful machine. It received an endorsement from consumer reports, but for such a low price tag, I was skeptical. I've had inexpensive vacuums before and they did not work well. This one was the exception. My only complaint is it gets really hot if you go on a 3 or four room spree. But for one room, it was lovely! Meager attachments and it doesn't do well in corners or edges. Doesn't have a skinny suction attachment.

I had the older version of this for 10 years. This newer model has no light. The hose is short so it comes off the unit sometimes. It's also very loud. The pros is the machine has great suction power, bags are easy to change and for the price it's a good deal.

After several years and several different models of bag-less canister uprights, we've gone back to the tried and true. This vacuum does exactly what it should: removes dust and pet hair and lets me dispose of it in a tidy manner. No more billowing clouds of dust rising from the trash while emptying a canister; no more dirt-caked filters to clean; no more wiping down the vacuum to clean up all the dust from emptying the canister.
The bags are large, easy to remove and easy to replace. The model I purchased did not have the headlight nor bag change indicator, as pictured online (the display model at the store wasn't the stripped down version I bought either), but I doubt I'll miss those features. I wish the hard plastic panel that covers the bag was a little sturdier or even hinged (it's a tab and slot design), but it still looks like it will hold up as long as it's not roughly treated. The on-board tools are good, but as another reviewer noted, the hose is a bit short. But it's lightweight, easy to maneuver (convenient handles make it easy to tote upstairs) and boy, does it have suction power! Highly recommend this one.

Excellent Vacuum Value

This is an great vacuum made even better by the price. Even though it is almost as inexpensive as they come, it has superior suction power even over higher priced brands like Dyson. The handle base has a tilt switch on/off, and it works great even with allergen filtration bags. Easy access to the vacuum bags is available by a push buttom release on the front. The automatic roller creates forward momentum for the vacuum that feels like power assist even though it is not. It is one of the more lightweight vacuums I've had.
There are a few things that could be added to make this vacuum tops of all in all classes. For one, the tools are exposed, although I've not had any problems with them falling off while vacuuming or hitting them either. It also does NOT have a HEPA filter, but my son with his asthma has not noticed a difference. The cord is not short or long. It would also be nice to be able to turn off the automatic roller on some hardwood flooring, because although most of the time it works great, sometimes the moving roller flings dirt forward rather than picking it up.
However, the big downside to this vacuum is that it is LOUD. It is one of the louder vacuums I've owned. It is not deafening, but it is definitely not quiet.
I still think this is one of the better vacuums you can get, especially for the money.

Basic but powerful.

I purchased this based on the review by Consumer Reports and my experiences with bagless vacuums that died within a year of purchase. Upon opening the box, I found a really stripped down model that was very basic and had no frills. No headlamp, a modest set of tools, and one bag that would only accommodate two uses before needing to be replaced. However, it had a good review, I only had to install a few bolts, and it fit my budget so I took it for a spin.
DO NOT LEAVE IT UNATTENDED WHILE IT'S ON.
It is LOUD, but powerful - on floors and carpet. My previous vacuum couldn't hold a candle to this vacuum's suction. It vacuumed my carpets like they'd never been vacuumed before. And, it is pretty good on floors. However, do not leave it unattended while it's on - even when it's in the upright position - it will devour whatever it's on! Additionally, it's powerful enough to effectively vacuum and use the hose simultaneously.
When you factor in the cost of the bags you'll need on an ongoing basis, this isn't the steal of a deal you may think it is. However, it's so effective that I would buy it again.
