Similar to my old Hoover purchased in 1998. Great suction, quieter motor, hepa filter eliminates any escaping dust. The power cord is conveniently long. The embedded dirt finder assures a clean carpet. I think Hoover makes the very best floor cleaning equipment. BUT, I do wish I had purchased the upgraded model that would include a feature to disengage the brush, longer hose, and more attachments.

Wow do I love this vacuum cleaner. I'm sure my Dad would cringe if he heard me say something like that, but hey, he doesnt have to clean his own house, does he? :-) The Electronic Dirt Finder is remarkably useful (sounded like a silly marketing ploy when I first heard about it.) The bag check indicator works flawlessly. The headlight is great for vacuuming under beds, etc. The power and motorized brush work great on my deep pile carpets. The HEPA filter appears to work well - never notice any dust coming out from the vacuum nor any smells or other indication that whats going in is coming out again. I have a few minor complaints - but they wouldnt stop me from buying this vacuum again. The unit is heavier than I expected. Using it on stairs is a chore. The hose and attachments feel chintzy, the hose is a bit short and the tubes are flimsy and cheap (which is all OK since only use them about 1% of the time.) I wish the cord would self-retract and store itself. Oh well. All in all, given the price, this is an amazing vaccum.

This is the Best Performing Vac Anywhere!

We did our homework and evaluated all the top vacs. This one has serious suction!! We've owed several of the Windtunnel vacs over the years. All work exceedingly well. Issue is, though, poor reliability. They have all failed. If you buy one, be sure to get the max warranty. Also, one should wear ear protection when using, as they are very noisy. Personally, I hate friction put-on tools. They never handle rough cleaning and typically come off. But bang of the buck - top dog, for sure. We truly believe there is nothing that compares to this sucker.

    Worth the money

I haven't used this vacuum a ton since I got it but so far it seems great. Really powerful so it had great suction. It's not self-propelled but sure felt like it was. The dirt indicator light is a really nice feature. Attachments are stored well but I still haven't figured out how to properly store the cord (which is really long by the way if you like that too) and the directions don't give you any tips on that. I bought this online when it was on sale so I think it's a great vacuum for the price. I will never use bagless again and I trusted the Hoover name.

Great on carpets, not so much on hard wood

I did a bunch of research before deciding on which vacuum to buy to replace my old canister, and thought this was going to be great choice. How wrong I was..... This vacuum is heavy and is TERRIBLE on hard wood floors - the attachment needed to do anything close to a decent job on hard wood is not included. And Hoover didn't have one in stock to purchase. To use the extension wands with the attachments, the entire power cord has to be unwound which means it has to be re-wound when you're done. The power cord storage is on top of all the hoses and wands. Also, I'm always managing the cord to keep it out of the way...the 'clip' on the back of the vacuum to keep it out of the way doesn't work as well as it should. Additionally, the hose really is too short to use it easily and effectively with the attachments. The good: it does a really good job on carpets. If you only have carpeting, this may be a good, cost effective choice for you. Personally, i'm regretting this purchase. Whatever I get to replace it will be a canister, you can count on that.

the vacuum has power and it is easy to push around. the only problem is the spaces on the roller brush. you have to go back over the spot 2 or 3 times and on hard floors you can feel some of the dirt kick out from the bottom of the vacuum . overall the vacuum is worth the money it's a good vacuum .

    Good price, good vacuum

I selected this vacuum after reading Consumer Reports and checking online reviews. I have two cats, and it works well to pick up the cat hair. I would say that it works best on the wall to wall carpeting and not that great on the area rug with a shorter pile. I have tried various settings, but it becomes too hard to push on the lower settings that work better. The "Easy Open" front is not. I had to have my husband put it back on for me because it kept falling off when I put it back. My favorite feature is the embedded dirt finder. It makes me more aware of the problem spots so that I spend more time on them. The wheels move very smoothly. I have not had any problems with it so far. My last vacuum was a used Hoover, and this one works much better.

Vacuum looks nice. I like the light for night vacuuming (really for under the bed). I really like having a vacuum that tells you when an area is clean. This product has a three year warranty. No need to spend money on an additional warranty. I do not like the new black tie warrantyy. I have always purchased the best buy warrnaty and appreciated its value. I will not purchase the black tie.

Had a hoover windtunnel vac for 10 years, and loved it. Finally died, so replaced it with the #1 consumer reports vacume without self propell feature (not needed). This one is just as great a vacume as my first, really does the job well and a great price.

This is a great vacuum. It never leaves anything on the floor, and does not get clogged with hair or other small particles. It is a little bit heavy, but it works so well that I just deal with that.

Works well but not great in corners. I like the red/green lights showing dirty/clean as you vacuum. Doesn't really mean anything since you're vacuuming the area anyway and certainly don't stop if the green light is on, but entertaining anyway.

disappointed in how the attachments work. The suction is so powerful when using the attachments that they don't extend without causing the unit to hit you in the butt or tumping the vacuum over. Much harder to push during regular vacuuming than I would have anticipated based on the Consumer Reports recommendation.

I BOUGHT THIS HOOVER TO REPLACE THE HOOVER ANNIVERSARY EDDITION I RETURNED DUE TO A MAJOR PROBLEM. THIS MODEL IS A BASIC MODEL BUT WAS RECOMMENDED BY THE REPAIRMAIN WHO COULD NOT REPAIR THE ANNIVERSARY MODEL. IT HAS A LONG EXTENTION CORD. I WOULD HAVE LIKED A LONGER HOSE FOR THE CLEANING ATTACHMENTS. VERY GOOD BUY FOR THE MODEL.

    Good light weight vaccum cleaner

Having a Hoover Windtunnel for the past 10 years, I was excited on my new purchase of this windtunnel model. All I can say that I am satisfied with my purchase, although not ecstatic. I have been using the vacuum cleaner for about 3 months now. My old windtunnel lasted for over 10 years and even to the end it still had amazing suction. It went through cleaning up cat fur to kids and always did a great job. This windtunnel sucks up ok, but unfortunately NOT as good as my old one. It has trouble on stuff that is large and for lint, as these items may take more than one pass. The large items seem to get sucked in the vacuum cleaner but later on they are spit out. It seems the intake under the rollers could be designed better, because it traps items under the rollers but they do not get sucked up. I do like the weight of the vaccum cleaner as it does stairs with the attachments with ease. That is one thing that has improved with the new models. Overall a good buy and I would still recommend it.

The vacuum is heavy but self propelled

This Vacuum has all the great features we were looking for. However here are my buts..When using the vacuum on a hard surface floor it tends to kick some of the dirt out the back from underneath. Which can be painful if not wearing shoes. The canister part worked very well! I like the placement of the accessories. The cord wouldn't stay on its hook while vacuuming which means you have to hold the cord anyway. Very powerful with the low and high pile features but still the problem of kick back debries. I wasn't totally satisified so it's getting returned tomorrow...

This hoover is amazing. It gets all the little dirt, fuzz off the carpet the first time you hoover. It is light weight and easy to move around. It has a red light/green light system that tells you when your carpet is completely clean.

If you buy this product you may want to buy the protection plan. I did not and when I bought the unit it was $229.00. Now it is not worth fixing. I would recommend at the current price but not without the protection plan.
