So far so good, took me a little time to figure out this Hotpoint digital washer (written instructions weren't so good), and the installation technician was useless in explaining how to. I was a previous owner of a Hotpoint washing machine when it was analog/manual type and lasted me almost 14 years. I wanted something simple to use & that's what I like about this machine, I don't like a lot of button selections that you hardly use anyway. The sound this machine gives out is not so bad, you can get used to it easily, and not super loud like most people complain about. Clothes come out clean and it wrings water off clothes really good, which saves you a lot less time in the dryer for clothes to dry. At the start, If you want some water in drum for soap to dissolve and the lid stay open while doing so, don't use AUTO on the water selection (this locks the lid) that way you have water in the drum to add clothes on top and also use MAX for water level, otherwise, you don't get enough water for a big load.

Disappointing

This machine is a big disappointment. The filling is confusing: it keeps pausing when I open the lid to load clothes in, and when I set it to "hot" it seems to fill with cold. The worst part for me is the very persistent wrinkles when the load is done. I use a clothesline to dry my natural fiber clothes, and with my old machine I'd give them a good shake, hang them on the line, and by the time they were dry there was minimal wrinkling. With this machine no amount of shaking or hanging gets the wrinkles out, and when I wear the clothes they look like they were balled up. I don't use fabric softener. Again, not a problem with my old machine. I'm low income, but am so unhappy with this weird machine I'm seriously thinking of getting a different
one.

We understand the disappointment caused by your clothes being wrinkled after a cycle. For help with this issue, please follow the troubleshooting tips in the "Wrinkling" section on pg. 25 of the Owner's Manual.
For your water concern, please make sure the household water heater is set to deliver water at 120° to 150°F (50° to 66°C) to the washer when hot wash is selected. If this information doesn't prove helpful, we recommend scheduling a service appointment for one of our qualified technicians to assess your unit by calling us at: 1-800-432-2737.

Water temperature trick

My Condo Association bought this washer about 2 years ago. Couldn't figure out why my clothes weren't getting that clean. When you use the warm or hot water settings, if you close the lid, the washer will automatically switch to cold water(will switch back to warm/hot when you open lid again). So for the first year, I didn't know that every time I was putting my clothes in and closing the lid then walking away, they were being washed on cold only. Now I leave the lid open until the washer fills, then close the lid once it's done. That way I know my clothes are being washed on the temperature I want.

We know an issue with water temperature would be concerning. We do expect the washer to add some cold water even when you select the warm/hot setting, to regulate the temperature and prevent it from getting too hot; this should not cause only cold water to be used. We would recommend checking the water inlet hoses, to ensure there’s no issue. The hot hose should be connected to the hot water valve, and the cold hose to the cold valve; the hoses will be marked to make matching them up to the valves easy. If you continue to have trouble and think service may be needed, that department can be reached at 833-426-3393.
