Our child is in the 90th percentile for weight and 95th percentile for height. The scooter handles her with no problem. It handles me with no problems as well. Numeric tires is my only wish as this thing has some power behind it.

fun even for this grandpa. holds a charge very well. only used in power one mode and it still does 8mph. colors are very bright. only drawback is the brake lit being so small would only be of value at night.

Honestly this scooter isn't much on trustworthy. It shakes and raddles and wiggles as it rolls. I just had worst time with it and battery doesn't last as long should. Only good thing was the for which I got ton compliments on.

I bought the Aviator Electric Scooter for my 12 year old grandaughter for her birthday. She loves it. It didn't take long for her (and her 9 year old brother) to learn how to ride it. They love it.

Broke within 2 weeks of owning it as a commuting scooter, also had subpar battery life and power dropped off quick after the first bar of battery was gone.

This scooter is definitely geared towards smaller, lighter, shorter individuals. This would be the perfect scooter for some younger teens to play around on. Taking this out of the box, I was impressed at the very solid build quality. The scooter was almost assembled out of the box, just have to thread in the reverse threaded handle bars, and latch the scooter up into the riding position. I did have the latch initially pop out on me, so double check and make sure it really is latched correctly. (User error on that one.) The manual says to charge it first, so I slapped it on the charger while looking the scooter over. The paint job is quite interesting, I thought it would be too “bright” and attention grabbing, but I think it’s done pretty well. Looks cool without being too flashy and in your face. The metal construction and heavy weight makes the scooter feel solidly built which is really nice. I was surprised to find the kickstand and front suspension on this scooter! The tires don’t have a ton of padding, but are still rubber and overall the scooter feels like it will hold up to a decent amount of abuse as long as it’s respected. My initial riding impressions were pretty good! Even with maxing out the weight capacity the scooter, it had no issues getting up and going, but was definitely slower than my lighter counter parts. With the solid rubber tires you can definitely feel the cracks in the sidewalk, but it’s not unbearable, and lighter riders don’t feel it as bad. Battery life wasn’t too bad, but I wouldn’t attempt to try and get anywhere near max range out of the battery. One thing to note, the “electric” portion of this scooter is all done at the front wheel. While this doesn’t feel out of place under acceleration, using the electric brake can take some getting used to. It’s fairly sensitive and comes on strong, and only brakes the front wheel. If you get used to using the rear brake in combination with the front electric brake this won’t be an issue. Fairly startling at first though when you try the electric brake out the first time. The added LED headlight and brake light won’t allow you to light up the path in front of you, but are definitely a fantastic safety feature. The brake light even flashes when you apply the electric brake. Overall fairly impressed at this package, especially at this price point. If you’re looking for a solid, affordable electric scooter for the older kiddos, this is a great bang for you buck. If you’re a college age student looking for reliable transportation around campus, are taller than most (the handle bars are not height adjustable), or need some extended range and better suspension/tires, I’d recommend looking at some of the higher end models that will suit you better. Tons of fun in the right application!

It was received with glee by our 5'8, 170lb., 13 yr old but it doesnt go very fast for him, he says. This may be more for a kid under 10 or 11, under 135lbs. For the price it should handle more but next year Ill get him a better one.

I have a real severe love/hate relationship with this scooter. To be very honest, I’m in my 30s and was maybe overly looking forward to riding this around town. Electric scooters are so much dang fun, anytime I’m in a major city and get the chance, I’ll rent a scooter and zip around, so my excitement for this can’t be overstated. Then it arrived…. Out of the box, it was a bit of a goofy setup that want aided by instructions. The scooter comes folded up which is fine. I screwed in the handles which is done by hand, unfolded it and charged the machine for 5 hours as recommended before my first ride. As I’m about to leave, I luckily realized the machine wasn’t locked into a standing position. There’s seemingly a lock in the front but it would not lock no matter what I did. Finally I had to bust out a mini wrench to move a bolt that was preventing it from locking. Not sure if mine shipped like that in error or if others come that way but they never mentioned it in the instructions so who knows. Out of the driveway, I was having a blast. It’s pretty simple to use at basic function. You push off and hold the throttle to go forward. There’s a brake mechanism too but I hardly use it since it slows down enough as is when not using the throttle. For data, note that this is designed for ages 16+, up to 263 lbs. I’m 220ish, well below the max weight. That said, anything you ever do on here will be affected by weight and distance and terrain. At 220, on flat road, I’d go about 11mph, closer to 14-15 when going downhill which is the max, but anything at just the itsy bitsy slightest incline slows you down at an incredible rate. There’s a super small incline on my street and whenever I ride up it I’ll be lucky to make it and if I do, I go about 5-6mph. The battery also depletes pretty quickly. At my weight, I can make it about 3miles before the battery is completely dead, which is about 1.5miles each way, which is not that far. The other frustrating part is the battery not only takes a while to charge but as it dies, you also slow down along with it. Off a fresh charge, I can start going 11mph or so on flat ground but within .5miles I’m probably going 9-10mph and at half charge, I’m slowed down to about 7mph. It’s real frustrating. The scooter does have a front headlight which doesn’t seem overly powerful and these aren’t recommended to ride at night anyway so it’s largely useless. They also implemented two speed modes, which don’t make that big of a difference unless you really wanted to cap yourself at a slower speed on an already slow scooter. Additionally they have a cruise control feature but it’s VERY FRUSTRATING to get to work properly because you have to click the throttle down twice to activate. But… it works maybe 10% of the time, no matter what cadence you click the throttle at, and as you release the throttle to click it twice you slow significantly. Really annoying. Lastly, the handles hardly stay in tightly. They're constantly loosening up so you spend a lot of your ride pushing your wrists forward to tighten the handles and then holding down the throttle since cruise control rarely works. After a few miles it gets tiring. That said, it’s a smooth ride that handles road bumps and cracks really well. Too bad all the other features heavily outweigh the good. Can’t recommend this unless you’re a real lightweight adult that lives on the flattest ground. Pass on this and pay for a better model.

Battery does not charge and 90 day return policy!! Do not buy any HOVER1 products bc clearly they don't believe in their own product with only a 90 day return policy. Emailed support and they offered zero help! Terrible. Now I just have garbage on my hands. It's too bad because the kids loved it when it worked. Used for only 3-4 months before it crapped out. STAY AWAY!

Bought for a Christmas present. First ride and it stopped working 15 minutes into the ride. Thought battery was dead so I charged it back up. Five hours later it won't turn on. Lights flicker on really fast then go out but it won't turn on. Looks like I got a defective scooter. Opened a ticket with Hover-1. If they don't respond to me I'll just return it to Best Buy and buy something else.
