From day one there was issues. The app barely works. The LED lights DO NOT change colors like listed. In the app it has the option to change LED colors and after selecting them in the app the hoover board even beeps to pack the command had been received but the lights never change. I reached out to the manufacturer and they stated that the app and listed were incorrect and the lights do not change colors. Next is how extremely loud the tones are when your turn it on or start riding quickly. It says it can do 7mph but if you get going up to speed it just beeps loudly at you and even threw myself and my kids off on it when riding. The manual stated this is a safety feature to ensure safe speeds are maintained. So if you go to fast it beeps really loudly and then will just stop throwing you off. Some safety feature that is. The BIGGEST PROBLEM happens when all of a sudden the boards decides to kick you off and then continue in a death spin with no one on it. It seriously spins so fast and does not stop unless you throw something at it to stop it. You can't grab it because of how fast it spins. It broke my entire cabinet door off in my kitchen when it hit it during one of these VERY UNSAFE episodes. We bought 2 of these for the kids for Christmas and they have both done this malfunction multiple times within the first couple weeks. The manufacturer offer ZERO support or apologies. We have since returned both units to Beat Buy. If you care about safety and a company that backs their product then DO NOT BUY!

I bought two of these - one for each of my two children. For one of my children, after using for several months, the wheels stopped turning. It may have been caused from damage when he went up low curbs. The one for my other child just went crazy. Again after several months, as soon as he stepped on it, it just went round and round by itself. He fell off, but it kept spinning in a circle.

This seemed like a great deal, bur it broke on day 15, yes one day after the store return policy. I was able to get the store to exchange it for me, but the replacement broke 3 weeks later. Both times the board went wild and would not stop moving even when nobody was on it so we had to put it in the garage and let the battery die. Unsafe and a waste of money.

Santa gave my daughter this for X-Mas. She squealed with joy when she saw it. We plugged it in to charge it, once done hooked up the Bluetooth she started to ride it throughout the house. We tried to change the color through the app with no luck. About an hour into her fun, it beeped then the wheel of death started, spinning the board while picking up speed. I had to kick it into my couch, then flipped it over, to get it to stop. I then turned it off for a while. Once I turned it back on, I recalibrated it and she gave it another go. 30 min in, it beeped again, she jumped off, and it began the cyclone a second time. After that, I turned it off, and packed it up. I’m 2hrs from a Best Buy, and looked to exchange since the website said in stock. Made the drive, only to find out they were not. Getting a second one mailed to me, with only 2 weeks for it to malfunction to send for a refund. I won’t try a third time. Overall I can’t believe the only place I see anything online about this issue are these reviews. Shame on Hover-1 for not recalling these, until someone actually dies riding it.

This hoverboard is flat out dangerous. I cannot believe that Best Buy and/or Hover-1 have not issued a recall. I bought it over Black Friday to give it to my daughter for Christmas. She loved it. It worked perfectly. Then one day after school this week she got on it and it went out of control. It was flying round in circles and began to smell like burning. She had to jump off it. It took 2 of us to stop it and turn it off. It left scorch marks on my brand new hardwood floors and burn marks against the walls it was ricocheting off. What is most disturbing to me is that if you read through these reviews you can see this has happened numerous times. You will see other customers talk about their hoverboard acting like a ‘cyclone’, a ‘demon’, ‘possessed’ etc. There is clearly a very serious issue with this hoverboard and unfortunately it seems that the company are not planning on doing anything about it until someone is seriously hurt.

We bought 2 of this for Christmas, my daughter rode yesterday all day with any problems, but tonight she’s started to spun around by itself twice already, nice product but dangerous at the same time, we haven’t try the other one, but most likely we will return both back

Initially, I thought this hover board was great. It looks good, has a nice speaker that connects easily, and it was easy to learn how to use it. However, the reason for the 1 star is because after two days of using it, my son was riding it and it malfunctioned and one of the motors shut off and the other one went full speed. It threw my son off the machine and continued to spin in a circle at a very fast speed and my son was hurt. While it was spinning, I tried to grab it to stop it as it was going out of control, but it was spinning so fast that it injured my hand and we could not get it to stop. I finally was able to lift it off the ground after trying a few different things, however the power button would not turn it off. After holding the power button down for about 15 seconds, it finally turned off. It seems to work fine since that happened, but I don't feel that it is safe to use.

Very hard to step on and off this item. We are going to return. Not safe at all. My husband fell off it trying to get off the thing. Does not do well on carpet. Tried it on our wood kitchen floors for just a few minutes. Would not recommend at all.

The Hover 1 Superfly was pretty much a flop. It worked well initially and my daughter was having fun. When we went to connect the hoverboard to the Hover 1 app it wouldn’t work. It said enter password 000000 but when entered wouldn’t work. So all that functionality was lost. After getting over that, my daughter decided she still wanted to keep it. The music connection still worked so she would zoom around the house playing music. Seemed really cool. On the 4th day the pad on the platform got stuck and the hover board spun around very fast and threw my kid off the hover board. She got over it and got thrown off 3 more times before I decided it was time to return it. Not sure if this is a defect and the reason for the reduced price but either way it isn’t safe. We went with a different model so we will see how this goes.

Picked this up for my 11 year old son (as part of his wish list). He's had it for ~2 weeks now, and seems to be enjoying it. For the most part, it is working as expected. However, we have experienced something of interest (multiple times)...on a few occasions, it would randomly begin spinning rapidly out of control (on it's own). I experienced this first hand, and trying to stop it was somewhat challenging and dangerous. After some on-line research by my older son, he performed a 're-calibration' on the unit, which seems to have worked (so far). Oh, and just a side note from a parent's perspective...It has NOT helped to encourage actual physical activity with my kid! Need work extra to mandate more exercise...

First time charged once, used for approx 1 hour and then battery showed drained and would not charge. 2nd time and the most dangerous reason for the 1 star review... my son was riding it and it started to spin out of control. Threw him to the ground, ran over him and my husband had to tackle the hover board to get to the power button. It was a scary situation. Best buy handled the returns without issue.

I bought this hoverboard about 2 weeks ago and I love this hoverboard. However, It spins out of nowhere when it's on and no one is on it. This issue needs to be fixed because this can cause a really bad fall and injury. Unfortunately, my return date just passed a few days ago and I can no more return so I have to deal with it.

This board becomes severely erratic when the battery is low. It has run into walls and completely in able to control. It will continue to run out of control even when no one is on it. It is very dangerous and could break a child’s leg or arm trying to turn it off. I also bought it early goer Christmas so I can’t return it.

My son loves this. You can play music on it with the Bluetooth function. You can customize the lights. All in all it pretty nice. The reason for the 3 stars is twice it has started spinning out of control while no one is on it. The board is pretty heavy so that is definitely dangerous.

Not the best quality. The charging connector came lose and almost got stuck inside the hoverboard. IT also can get stuck in a mode where is spins crazily in a circle and is borderline dangerous. This happened when someone was spinning around in 360s and fell off....the thing kept spinning!

It's sleek, fun, and works well. However, the first time we plugged it in to charge it, the charging adapter smoked, causing us concern it could catch fire. We returned it and bought another brand instead and have not had the same problem.

This item is so dangerous to have or ride inside the house. My 13 and 10 year old ride it inside the houseand while ridding it it has dropped them and has gone crazy spinning. My kids couldnt even stop it because it was going so crazy. Sometimes once thwyre getting off it goes on crazy. We hardly charge it and when we do it soemtimes gets hot so we need to disconnect it and let it cool down, we think its weird but what to do. We dont really recommend it but buy it at your own risk.

Initial Hover board worked well for first few days. Then it went crazy spinning wild circle mode (did this twice.) Also, at that point you couldn't get on it because as soon as you attempted to place one foot on deck it started moving forward. Returned to Best Buy for replacement (they were great!) Kids used new one a few times with no issues but they're a bit skittish with it now and have lost interest. Luckily when it did the death circle spin I was there and was able to grab it in the middle and turn it off. Told them if it does it again to get away from it and I'll deal with any property damage. Great product if/when it works but I'm a little leery with it.

DEVIL BOT!!! DO NOT BUY!! Spins out of control at highest speed out of no where. Will throw rider off board. Due to spinning it Burt a hole in the kitchen floor, belly flopped someone, and broke a wrist, all in 2 days!!! The store worker said it was the 3rd one returned to just him with all the same spinning problem. It is extremely dangerous! Learn from us and save yourself the money and hospital bills!!!!
