Performs great, but beware of a major design flaw!

I have no complaints with how the laptop performs. I've had this model for 2+ years and the download/upload times are still quick, I can run multiple applications with no difficulties, and the battery life is pretty decent.
However, there's a glaring design flaw with how it was assembled. There's a part above the upper left portion of the keyboard that is noticeable raised compared to the rest of the base panel (non-screen part of the laptop). Over time, this raised part has become less apparent because it's now jutting out at the bottom, which has caused it to gradually develop a crack on the underside. Unfortunately, this change doesn't appear to be purely cosmetic: It's caused malfunctions with my touchscreen where it thinks someone is tapping on the Windows icon on the lower left portion of the screen, which becomes inconvenient when doing schoolwork or regular work. Also, the charging port is on the upper left part which has made it so the power cord no longer inserts all the way, so now charging is inconsistent and my battery has died a few times since the cord wasn't fully plugged in.
If you notice a defect like this on any laptop, return it immediately to avoid this problem.

+ Great deal of a laptop!
+ Ryzen 7 4700U is top notch. With SSD and 8GB RAM, its a powerful gadget. Gonna tell you later after one month usage
+ The screen is crystal crisp.
+ Lightweight and thin
+ This one has fingerprint sensor on it. I wasnt expecting this actually. Nice surprise.
- all plastic, you'll feel some cracking noise when you hold it
- fan noise is noticeable especially when you run some tasks at once
Conclusion: Happy to buy this. However, for UPS, please read the delivery instruction carefully please. Thank God I checked the tracker frequently.

You're getting exactly what you're paying for. This laptop gets things done. I mean sure, it may not have some fancy things you'll find in other laptops. But hey, for this price i think it's an absolute steal. I bought this laptop for my day to day MS Office work, and it works great. Browsing is also an absolute breeze on this one. Don't let any tech freak nerd to convince you otherwise. Go for it.

Very early for a review but everything was as expected except the lettering on the keyboard is very hard to read. Bolder lettering would have improved it's use and my ratings.

Computer is very fast, and boys up quickly. The touchscreen is nice. What I really like is the fingerprint feature. Only two drawbacks is there’s no DVD drive. I had to buy an external drive. The other drawback is that there are only two USB-A ports. There’s a USB-C port, but you’ll need a USB-A to USB-C cable. Battery life is really good. I worked for Intel for several years, but I have always preferred AMD processors for their speed. The laptop is reasonably priced. I refuse to pay over $800 for a laptop that will be obsolete six months after it leaves the store. I’ve always been pleased with HP laptops. This has been my fourth HP laptop.

Great laptop (can even play some games)

First off I have to mention the price, I got a great deal that was made even greater by price-matching. While the laptop was in transit the price dropped another hundred dollars so I decided to contact Best Buy and see what my options were. Well I was surprised how easy they made it to deal with price changes and get me the difference. I was ecstatic and didn't even have the laptop yet.
Now the laptop itself runs amazing. I was upgrading for an older hp that had slowed down to a crawl and took a calendar year to open applications but only after the fan let me know that it was preparing for take off. It made online classes a nightmare. This new laptop runs like a dream; apps open instantly, webpages are fast, it heats up a bit but nothing a little ventilation can't fix, and it can even play games. I was able to play portal after not having played since the orange box collection on ps3, it was great to hear GLaD0S again. I love this machine.

So far, the laptop has been okay. Very fast and light, with the touch-screen being a nice feature, even though I don't use it much. The slot for the AC adapter is in an awkward location, right next to one of only two USB ports. I am still not convinced that the battery life is that long. It seems to drain very quickly when I leave the laptop on sleep mode for an extended period of time. Lastly, the keyboard is a bit narrow; HP could've used more space towards the screen to spread out the keys a bit. Otherwise, this would've been a great buy for about 100 dollars less; maybe more.

It’s a very nice laptop. I like the features of fingerpirimt and touch screen. It’s thin and sturdy. I really wanted this laptop but I found another laptop that was cheaper that was just like this. I had the open box - excellent geek squad certified and it was just as new. No flaws
Just keep in mind that you do have to keep your screen clean if your going to using the touch screen a lot.
I wasn’t feeling the camera quality it could be a little better.
Again I had this for a short amount of time and I had to decide which laptop I wanted and the other one was cheaper for me even tho this one had a great deal also.
If this is still available definitely hop on it for open box.

I've had this laptop for about 4 months. I had my local Best Buy store order it online and then had Geek Squad install it in-store. At the time it was ~ $650 which felt like great value.
The big thing for me was the processor. It's made startup, shutdown and overall processes quite fast and I haven't had any issues with speed. Once or twice it's frozen but after a restart it's gone back to normal so it's been close to a non-issue. Would highly recommend.

This computer will be used as a home casual use computer. I use it for email, banking, searching and some misc. web sites. It is fast and easy to use. This is the second one I have purchased, the first one also worked well and is still working well, it will be passed on the my husband.

Pros: I enjoy the performance of this ryzen 5 cpu. very solid laptop and really good price. fast and snappy due to large 500gb SSD.
cons: cannot upgrade RAM. battery discharges rather rapidly. I can have it unplugged and working off the battery for about 1.5-2 hrs. so from the start, you may have to change the battery setting for a longer battery life.

Excellent upgrade from the 6yr old HP laptop we had with only 4GB memory. Purchased the 16GB PNY memory stick for an upgrade, as the wife does a ton of pics and videos for her home business. She loves the bigger keys and lighter weight. AMD chips seem superior to the Intel we had. Also, SSD is the way to go!

Lap top easy to set up. Used software to migrate an old device. Boots very fast. Seems to have very good battery life. Have not used the finger print scanner yet. Screen resolution is great. Screen does not function great in high light scenarios, such as outdoors. Great in all indoor applications. Touch screen is great. Recommend getting a pen. Super light and bezel is small. Over all a great buy. USB ports and power ports are in an awkward position but you get used to it.

This is my first touchscreen computer. I'm a HP customer. This may be my 4th HP laptop and I bought one for my daughter making it a total of 5. I liked that the computer is light weight and doesn't get hot. The price is one thing but overall I really like the computer. You can't go wrong.

Very quick start up time compared to regular Hard Drives of the past. This laptop is much quicker than old one running windows 7. Great price for what I use it for. Quite happy with the purchase.
