I bought my computer to run my CAD files and it does that and more. I can run all of my architecture files quickly and I like having the ability to use the touchscreen and voice control. Great investment.

Great laptop and graphics card, bad touch pad

This laptop works really well with games like skyrim(which looked to be on the highest settings), league of legends and path of exile also on high settings. The touchscreen works great. My only real complaint is the touch pad. To use this thing is aggravating, you press it to right or left click(which isn't separate buttons) and it'll end up doing something else. You would think by now touch pads on laptops would be simple. If you are going to use a mouse or the touchscreen then it wouldn't be a big deal. The other thing I kind of don't like is the keyboard, its not so smooth or great feeling like gaming keyboards, if this makes sense, but its not a deal breaker unless you are used to gaming keyboards. Other else than that this is a great deal if you can't afford an expensive gaming laptop. After almost 2months it still works well with my games.

This lap top have met my expectations and I am very thankful to now have a laptop. I play games on it and now I can enjoy them on my laptop. This one is easy to opperate and fast for gaming. I also use it for internet and applying for jobs. I am very happy with this best buy probuct and their service at time of purchase and after when the package arrived damaged by the shipper they exchanged it for another.

A Bestbuy blue shirt found me a laptop he thought I wanted but then I noticed down the isle a cheaper one. I got this laptop on sale. It was $100 cheaper, had 4GB more, and a larger screen than the one the blue shirt picked out for me. Besides that the laptops where basically identical. I bought this one and it has been perfect. The battery life is short but I use it near outlets all the time anyway.

This is the first machine I have owned with these type of specs (Core i7, 12 GB RAM, NVIDIA graphics card). I expected it to be fast and responsive and it has definitely delivered. The display is crystal clear. This is also my first touch screen. While I'm still having a hard time getting used to putting my fingers on the screen, it is very responsive. Bluetooth works great. I could go on and on because honestly, I haven't had a single issue.

I am very pleased with this laptop. I first bought the 2 in 1 style thinking it might be nice to have the versatility of using it in "tent" style or fully folded backwards for a "tablet" style. I came to realize I was not going to use those functions and really wanted more for my money. That's when I decided to exchange it for the full size 17.3" HP Envy model m7-111dx. What a magnificent machine! Not to mention the price compared to equivalent specs on other brands costing way more. I'm not a gamer but knowing that I have this much power for RAM, hard drive storage, an i7 Intel Core processor and a dedicated graphics card is an amazing value at this price. I also still wanted a built in DVD burner and a way to change the battery myself if needed. Unlike the newer 2 in 1 styles where the battery has to be changed out by a service tech as it's sealed inside the machine. I actually like HP's "Control Pad" mouse pad design. Very cool functionalities if you don't have a wireless mouse handy. I am also fond of having Bluetooth built in as technology expands for this use. Touchscreen is also a must and this one doesn't disappoint. One thing I am noticing however is that the keyboard is either hypersensitive or there is a slight glitch. I will be typing and notice that letters are typing themselves twice often. Maybe a software update will cure if this is a flaw. The built in Beats Audio sound is excellent for a laptop. granted it's not as good as external speakers would be and some reviewers noted they didn't think the Beats Audio sound was very good. Well, it's a laptop. Not a full blown sound sytem. All this said, I am extremely pleased with my purchase and can easily use the touchscreen in normal countertop set up. I don't see the need for the ability to have the 360 degree folding radius. I have 10" tablets we use for that type of portability. Windows 10 will be out later this year for those who cant adjust to Windows 8.1. I simply use the majority of the laptop in full desktop mode anyway so for me the apps and such are not a big deal and I quickly learned how to access programs and control panel like traditional Windows OS of the past. Great buy if you want a full size laptop and enough bells and whistles to carry you through several advances of technology going forward. I don't travel with mine so if you do you may still need to consider the smaller screens for lighter weight.

This is a great computer. It's fairly heavy but that's expected in a 17" and I don't carry it around much. It's fast, the screen is very clear and bright and the Beats audio sound is nice. I'm not used to the mouse pad which appears to be split into a regular mouse pad in the middle and some other functionality, which I haven't figured out yet, on the sides. My only real complaint is Windows 8 which continues to be aggravating for me even after almost a year.

I love my HP ENVY m7-k111dx. I purchased this to replace my home desktop computer. It was easy to set up straight out of the box. Performs very good. Don't seem to have very much lag. Graphics are great. My oldest son loves playing Halo on it. I can keep his games running in the back ground, do all my work that I need to do, and watch Netflix, without closing any of it and still have no lag. The only thing that I wish was better is the sound. The sound is good for a laptop but not quite loud enough to use at work or in a loud environment. However with the Beats sound control you can manipulate it to be louder but you suffer sound quality. Overall I would recommend this laptop to anyone who wants a great running touch screen laptop.

My husband's first touch screen laptop. Transition from other computer easy and smooth. He has enjoyed how much faster it is to enlarge items with the pinch of a few fingers.his last computer was still working, but very old. He is so happy with the speed of the new one. Also bought the accidental drop insurance, so I have peace of mind as well.

My custom ordered Dell was starting to slowly die so I was scrambling to replace it. I paid a pretty good penny for the Dell but didn't want to go that steep on this round. My old laptop had the i5, this has the i7. I appreciate the touch screen and for me I like the big size. It actually came with a cd/dvd rom and a card reader as many now do not. I am not a fan of windows 8 (along with the rest of the world) but I wanted something quickly so this worked. The 'beats audio' is pretty lame, but not as lame as the other models I reviewed at Best Buy. In the end it works enough for me for what I paid for it. i still prefer my Dell, but I paid nearly double for it 5 years ago. I am happy to have a new machine that works quickly.

    Top Notch Laptop from HP

I recently purchased the HP Envy Laptop from Best Buy. The price was a great price and much cheaper than online where I had priced in detail from many other retailers. This was a black Friday special and that is how I got it so cheap. Okay 999.99 is not peanuts, but this is usually well over 1200.00. I compared this with the ASUS laptop with similar specifications. This system was up and running out of the box in less than 10 minutes. It has taken some time to tweak it to my liking. I am not a fan of Windows 8.1 either. Still, that is what comes on this laptop. I loaded Virtual Box and now I run Linux in that as a VM. This system has the RAM and the hard disk space to run many VMs. It has 1 TB of HDD and 12 GB of RAM. The processor is an i7 Intel CPU model 4510. There is something everyone should know about his system. To run 64 bit VMs virtualization must be turned on in BIOS. Once I did that this system ran 64 bit VMs and it is also a 64 bit computer as well. I really like the 17.3 screen and it does travel well. It got bounced around in the airport over the last month and has still worked fine. I did keep it in a decent travel case so that probably helped. The touch screen comes in handy when you need to do things that Windows 8.1 has designed for touch screens. Still, the keyboard is a nightmare since every little touch makes the screen and other windows open when not desired. It also types in strange characters and does not work very well in general. I had to attach an external wireless keyboard to make it work better. Overall, this is a very good computer and the price is excellent.

I purchased this laptop for my college age son (freshman) for study and entertainment. He is a pretty avid gamer in additon to a full time engineering student. This pc has all the power, storage, and graphics that he will need. My hope is this will get him through the next 3 years of school and beyond. BB even matched the price when I found on sale for $100 off after the original purchase.

I am glad I got this laptop it has a touch screen that is awesome in so many ways. It's great for games, and anything else you want to do here. Fast sounds awesome too. I would recommend this to a friend and give it a good value.. Love it I am new to the windows 8 and it has been fun learning how to use the apps. I am so glad I decided to buy this laptop . The quality is so much more than the cheaper one I bought earlier the same day. I took it back and spent more for a better looking and better quality.

I"m too old & love tech too much for this to be my 1st laptop but I've never been impressed enough with what they could do without paying an arm & a leg. I've been using this one for a while now & after a little learning curve, am quite pleased! Didn't realize how much I'd like/use the touch screen either. It has made my work laptop even more annoying. :)

This large screened laptop has a fast processor and vivid graphics. Perfect for my high school student who uses it to complete school work. It is also adequate for his gaming use. Better than the Asus we returned after having issues with it from Day 1.

I am reviewing after only having this for a month, bur so far I love it. It seems to be fast, the resolution is gorgeous, and I love having both a touch screen and laptop functionality. The only downside in my opinion is Windows 8. It is extremely frustrating to try to figure out what I've been doing for 15 years, but can no longer do with version 8.
