The HP Envy 6155e is a great for home or a super small office Multifunction device. Size is different. It is squashed down and more of a rectangular box. So it can easily fit on a compact shelf. The modern white is a clean look. So if you are looking for that you can check that box. Setup was super easy. I downloaded the HP Android app from play store. Just follow the step by step instructions and I you will be all set. Setup via Windows 11 was super easy as well. Searched for printer via device setup and I was all set. This printer comes with limited free ink - 3 months. Scanning was easy to setup. Both to HP Cloud and Google drive works. Just follow the email instructions. Super convenient. Printing via Windows and android is super easy. Using HP's app for scanning and printing is easier for me to navigate. It took me a while but I got used to it. My kids can use it for their school which is great. Schools still require print outs. Which is kinda nice to not be on screens all the time. Quality and speed of printer is decent. Overall pretty good printer. For the intended functions I used it for and for what my kids need this printer works just fine. I would recommend it for what it is advertised for.

I have not been a big fan of HP printers in the past. However this printer HP Envy 6155e has changed my mind. I use Apple products, iPhones, iPad and MAC. I love them and they made setting up this printer and using it so easy. Sometimes it is difficult to use Apple products and AirPrint easily. As I unboxed this printer I saw the announcement on the side of the box. I was excited so I quickly set it up and tried printing from my iPad. It was perfect so I tried my iPhone and it was perfect too. A Win Win in my book. Also I can print from anywhere and it will come to my printer. That is so smart! I love the colors of this printer. It is not just white or black. It has white and cream colored. It makes them look nicer in my home. I have to set my printer out in my living room and I have always hated those plain white or black printers. They do not look inviting. it is thinner than other printers. Taking up less room my table. It comes with a short plug in which is why I gave this a 4 star. I wish it had about double the size of cord. I do not have an outlet close to where I set my printer so I need to use an extension cord. If they just make the cord longer I would be happy. This printer comes with two ink cartridges. They are so easy to install by just lifting up the lids. The printing is nice and sharp. I did not print any photos so I cannot say how those look. It is instant ink ready so I can get ink sent from HP when I need it as long as I keep the printer online. So far it is staying online.

The HP Envy 6155E printer is the latest iteration to the 6000 series lineup of all-in-one (AIO) wireless printers. It has the features you’d expect from an AIO – copying, scanning, and printing. The 6155E, like all recent HP printers, utilizes HP’s Instant Ink Program. The box contains the ink needed, a power cord, a getting started sheet, and the printer. I have been using an HP 6055 for right around 4 years now, and it has worked well for me. Switching over to the 6155e I can say there are a lot of similarities, but a few nice improvements. The 6155e shares the same compact AIO profile of its predecessor. Most specs largely remain the same – 100 sheet capacity tray, adjustable from 8.5” wide down to 3.125”, and print speed (10ppm for Black, 7ppm for color). The biggest change comes in the form of the display. The 6055 has a simple touch button interface, but no screen to display information. The 2.4” touchscreen displays information about current printer status, as well as manual selections for the different modes (print, scan, copy). The 6155e also uses the HP Smart app on the PC, which is where you will sign in and link your account for the Instant Ink program. The output tray is a little swing arm the pops out, which can handle 25 sheets. The swing arm sits off center, which becomes an issue when making smaller prints as they can fall off to the side when more than a few have stacked up. The scanner/copier bed has a simple cover that hinges up to let you put the page on the glass – there is no feeder mechanism, so it’s one page at a time. The only other outward features on the printer are the main power switch in the rear (next to the plug), and a USB Type B cable port (cable not included). Setup for the printer was straightforward. You can use a phone with the HP Smart app or via PC with HP Smart installed there. Either way you will need the HP software to get it up and running. I hooked it up to my Wi-Fi and followed the steps. I later connected it with a USB cable to see how it worked that way, and my computer recognized the printer without any issue. Part way through the setup process you are prompted with the HP Instant Ink Program. You can select from several tiers depending on how much you print. I started out at the lowest tier, which is 10 pages a month. This is more than enough for me as I typically just print photos, and use my laser printer for other jobs. You could also opt to not join the program and just buy the ink outright, like traditional inkjet printers. I setup my parent’s HP 6055e this way a year ago, and it’s worked out well for them. It really comes down to your use case. I don’t mind the ink plans. Over 4 years I have spent less money on the plans than I would have spent replacing dried up ink cartridges. The did mention I connected the printer via USB, and it worked fine. However, this printer is made to sit on a network. The wireless connectivity allows the printer to sit on your home network and be connected to from multiple devices. This connection flexibility allows you to print from your PC, through the HP Smart app on your phone, and through its own dedicated email address. I did several different print/scan jobs – the print for the most part behaved just like the 6055 that I have been using. Printing a text document was straightforward – the black text even down to size 6 font was legible. I scanned the document and emailed it to myself – the scan was nice and clear. In order to “scan to file” you need to initiate the scan from your PC through the HP Smart software. Scanning from the on-printer controls only gives you the option to scan to email or to the cloud. Scanning a picture and having it sent to my phone still works well. The scanning resolution remains at 1200 DPI, while copy resolution drops to 300 DPI. The trick I have learned is if you want a higher quality copy (like a picture), you have to break the process up into a scan job and then a print job. The 300dpi setting works just fine for copying text or other medium quality docs. Regular printing resolution is up to 1200 DPI. However, if you are using HP Photo Papers then the resolution goes higher to 4800 x 1200 DPI. I did a few school photo prints on 4x6 and 5x7 glossy HP Everyday Photo Paper. They came out fantastic – image quality was bright and clear – definitely as good if not better than having them printed in store. I am waiting on some more 8x10 paper to arrive to print full size, but I am sure they will look great as well. A little side note if you are using Instant Ink – your page count for a month is for any print. A 4x6 print dings you just as much as an 8x10. So in the past when I ran up to my limit I could make a collage on an 8x10 (or 8.5x11) and then print out several pictures on one sheet. You just have to have a steady hand while cutting them out. While printing pictures you can opt for borderless printing, which this printer supports. I don’t miss the days of trimming the little edge off of pictures. Print speed on pictures is obviously slower than a text document, but it really isn’t too bad. It takes about 30s for one 4x6 to print, which is on par with the 6055. I would assume this take about 1.5min to print an 8x10 if the speed of my 6055 is any indicator. Also, the printer is not overly loud and it can print a job while sitting right next to my desk without any complaints. The only thing that I noticed was different as far as operation goes was when I was printing jobs on different sizes of paper. I noticed when I opened the paper tray a dialog box pops up on the printer screen asking if I changed the paper size. I went from 8.5x11 to 5x7, which I selected in the list. I then went about printing a couple of 5x7’s. When I switched to 4x6 I neglected to answer the dialog box query. I tried to start my next print, and my computer popped a notification say the “Printer Door is Open” or something to that effect. I thought that was weird, but I figured it was a delayed response since I closed the tray and hit print about 15s apart. When nothing started to print I redid the job – still nothing. I decided to check the tray and open/close it again to see if that corrected the issue. When I closed the tray I saw the paper size query pop up, which was my “Aha” moment. I answered the question, and it immediately started to process my first print job. I cancelled this job, but let the second one process. So, long story short, make sure you answer that question box whenever you open the tray. I still have a color laser printer that handles most of my daily print needs, and my 6055 will be heading to college soon. The 6155e is a worthy replacement to my 6055. I would definitely figure out your print needs prior to signing up for Instant Ink to see if it’s a good fit for you. I think it’s a great deal if you are wanting to print a lot of pictures, which is my current use case. You will want to get the correct HP Photo Papers for good quality photo prints. Other than that this is a good little printer. I have had good luck with my 6055 and my parents have had the same with their 6055e.

This is an all in one printer copy scanner. It does black and white as well as color. It prints up to 12” paper and as small as 3”x5” (photo)and No 10 envelopes . Primarily it’s made for letter size 8.5”x11”. It has a glass top scanner copier that is letter size and a 2.4” touch display. The printer works wireless or wired for network connection and printing from devices. This does not support fax. Standard specs, holds 100 pg prints 7 ppm color and 10 ppm bw. Uses one bw HP cartridge and one tri color cartridge. You must use original HP ink to use the HP ink service and maintain warranty. There are inexpensive print plans available if you choose that cover ink replacement. The print came in the box ready to use. It includes the printer assembled, power cord, quick start guide. In order to set it up you must install the HP Smart app or go to the website to connect to the printer. If your device is connected to your WiFi the printer will connect automatically. If not you can plug it into your router or enter the pw for your WiFi. The setup took about 30 minutes or less. After powering on you complete the steps on the app. There will likely be a required update when you first setup. After you setup the printer you can print from any device using the HP app or installing the driver (my laptop recognized it so I just added it). The copies and prints come out clean sharp and the color is good for paper copies and prints. I would not use it for photo quality prints. The scans and copies come out almost as good as the original. I would definitely recommend for an easy to use home printer for simple bw or color prints. It’s very easy to setup and use.

HP Envy 6155e All-In-One Printer I am writing this review for the HP Envy 6155e All-In-One Printer. I have owned countless HP products since my entry into the world of computing over 40 years ago. My first HP printer was a LaserJet 1100c. Believe it or not, that is still one of my favorite printers, although I have to admit, it is sitting on a shelf right now. I say all this to simply point out that HP, in my opinion, has always been one of the top providers of exceptional printers. And with that being said, let me get into the meat of this review. Unpacking the 6155e was extraordinarily ordinary. It was packed well, came out easily, all the components readily accessible. I will say I am impressed with the steps HP has taken to lessen its impact on the environment. Virtually everything is recyclable, and as well, the majority of the components are manufactured from recycled materials. Big atta-boy to HP for this. Included in the box is the printer, power cord, black and color ink cartridges, and the typical assortment of printer materials, including a concise Quick Start Guide. HP has slowly, over the past few years, began pushing its HP Smart app onto its consumers. It is almost a requirement now, seeing as if you aren’t above average in your tech savviness you will be unable to connect the printer to wi-fi or use it if you don’t download the app. In order to evaluate the 6155e properly, I followed the directions in the Quick Start Guide and used the HP Smart app which I already had downloaded on my phone. This turned out to be only a bit short of a nightmare. Once I got to a certain point during the setup, I received an error message via the app that stated, “An unexpected error occurred. Try again.” Ok…so I tried again. This time I got an error message stating, “Exit Setup We can’t set up your printer from your mobile device right now. To set up your printer from a laptop of desktop, go to 123.hp.com….” Long story short, I finally managed to get the printer connected to wi-fi and accessible through the app. The HP Smart app has been a source of major headaches for me since it was introduced. I truly thought that after the voluminous numbers of complaints they have received that they would have actually fixed the app. They have not. It is my opinion that it is perhaps the worst printer app available. But again, that is my opinion. Getting past the app issue, I tested out all the all-in-one functionalities of the 6155e, beginning with printing. One thing I do like is that you can print directly from the mobile app, whether it be a photo, screen shot, or document. It is as simple as pressing a couple of icons, and off you go. Now, in normal printing, it defaults to color printing, and normal quality, which is basically okay quality. Text printing is gray and not black, and photo printing is so-so quality as well. Don’t get me wrong, its still pretty good even in normal mode, and another good thing about printing from the app is that you can change print settings directly from the app. For this aspect of the app, HP has done quite well. But one thing that really surprised me was that there is no option (that I could find) that allows you to choose any type of photo paper for printing photos. I can’t even begin to figure out a good reason for this, and even using photo paper, it only produces mediocre quality prints. As for scanning, this too can be done from the app, and allows for several options: Batch, Photo, Document, Test Extract, Multi-Item, Book and ID Card. In addition, you can choose from where you want to scan, either phone or the 6155e scanner itself. Text scanning was okay, but depending on what you scan, the accuracy is marginal at best. The formatting was lost in the process, and there seemed to be a LOT of alien characters. In all honesty, I have seen and used third-party scanning apps that do a much better job. Copying is completely uneventful, which is good. Place whatever you want to copy on the scanner, and that is that. There is one other issue I would like to elaborate upon, and that is the Instant Ink program offered by HP. From the very beginning of the setup process, I was saturated with adverts coercing me to sign up for the Instant Ink program, from the included literature through the many screens of the set up process. They (HP) even goes so far as to flat out state that they monitor the printer, to make sure that you use ONLY HP chip cartridges, and that they will prevent non-HP cartridges from working. So, you are basically left with either choosing to buy HP cartridges only via the Instant Ink program, or by buying them from a retailer. Instant Ink prices vary from $1.49 per month (10 pages or less per month) all the way up to $27.99 per month (700 pages or less). During the process of testing out this printer, I printed 5 photos, mostly in Normal mode (One in Best mode). The color ink cartridge now stands at 50% ink left. With fewer thank 20 pages of text prints, there is roughly 75% left in the black ink cartridge. If I print five or six more photos, I will presumably have to buy another color ink cartridge at $22.99. And if I print roughly 80 more pages of text, I will need to purchase a black ink cartridge, at the same $22.99 price. One thing HP doesn’t make explicitly clear is what happens if you should run out of both cartridges in a month’s time. Will they replace both, or just one? In any case, you will have to do the math to see what the best choice for you would be. Taken by itself as an all-in-one, and whether it prints, scans and copies, it does all three, and it does them fairly well. But taken as an entire package including HP Smart app with its issues, HP’s strong suggestions for signing on to Instant Ink, and its dynamic monitoring of the printer to make sure you don’t use non-HP cartridges, I find this is a printer to stay away from, and I can’t hardly bring myself to recommend it anyone, let alone my friends and family. Perhaps if they invest more R&D time into actually improving their app, and if they improve the quality of some of the scanner’s accuracy, I could bring myself to recommend it. But not until then.

The HP envy 6155e is a great all in one printer and the biggest reason is the HP printer app that you can use to setup and control the printer. Unboxing and setup is simple and straightforward, which is something I haven’t been able to always say with some printers. Once you plug it in, the app will walk you thru the whole setup process and even automatically adds your WiFi password to the printer so you don’t have to enter it in. This seems like something trivial, but from my past experience with some printers including previous HP printers, it was an absolute pain getting them online or even using the software. Because of this I used to never use the app or online experience, as it wasn’t worth the headache. You have the option to use the HP instant ink and can set it up thru the app, but I like that HP doesn’t force it down your throat. When using the printer I like the fact it has a quite mode you can enable , which make a substantial difference in the sound the printer makes. If you don’t wish to use the app for printing and control the touch panel is very responsive and has a clean UI. All in all this printer isn’t much different than other ink jet printers I’ve used, the big difference is HP has finally brought the app and online experience into the 21st century!

The greatest HP printer replacement for my hardware-based, 1990s printer boasted features like 3D scanning, faxing, emailing, and printing at a resolution of over 1200 DPI. several formats. size as well as banners. This printer is only 1/3 the size of my giant 1990s printer and functions just as quickly and almost as diversely. It covers 95% of that with cloud Internet and wireless service without the need for a dongle or trailing wires. It also has only one USB connection. The real heart of the newest HP printers is a program called HPsmart, which is a superb cloud-based Internet solution for all the capabilities that in the past required hardware alternatives in order to replicate these services. This adds significantly to the value of a printer beyond just being a tool for printing. My HPsmart app was already loaded, thus installation was a breeze. This app is accessible on phones, laptops, desktops, and, I assume, Macs. Since it is web-based, I'm pretty sure that it can be used on Linux systems as well as Amigas. This is far better than the required drivers to interface with all the unique hardware components that my old printer had, which are not readily available today. I used that 1990s printer for decades while running a five-person private business, and it was fantastic for personal usage. This printer, which comes from HP, an engineering company, claims to last me another 25 to 30 years. Black and white printouts show the same speed and quality, so it's good enough for a small business Most of my grievances are so little and pointless in the modern world. While the Envy's scanning is enough for most online auctions, it is not 3D capable. Additionally, the old printer's seven color cartridges ran out slower than the HP color cartridge, and HP appears to be less decisive of negative and positive scans. Color uses more ink than older printer, 40–50 pages of high-resolution vs using 1/4 of the color ink cartridge for three HP prints. However it’s the best I’ve seen in over a decade that fits into most people's budget.

The HP 6155e all in one ink printer is an all around office/home solution. The printer is very well built, is lightweight and compact. It is white in color with a beige accent. It has a small LCD touch screen display where you can access printer functionality. The setup is straightforward when using the HP Smart app. It comes with two sets of ink, a color cartridge and a black. This printer can be used via USB, Wi-Fi direct, or it can be connected to a network via Wi-Fi. I was able to install it on my Windows PC and mobile phone with no problem. However, if you wish to access the printers settings and functionalities you require to use the HP Smart app. With this printer you are able to scan, print, and copy. It features a flatbed scanning glass that supports documents up to 8.5x11 or A4. The same goes for document printing, but you can also do borderless printing that will increase the printing size by half inch. The paper tray holds up to 100 pages and it can print up to 10 pages per minute in black and 7 in color. When it comes to printing this printer is pretty fast, especially B&W. As for photo printing I find it to be accurate with the colors and the images were very bright and detailed. It also supports dual side printing. The scanning resolution is about 300 DPI. In the app it actually shows that you can do higher. However, using higher DPI will take a long time to scan so stay within the 300. I tried using the scanner with Windows' own scan app, but it didn’t work despite the printer showing up on the list. That doesn’t bother me as much since the Windows scan app is very limited. The touch screen LCD is bright, vivid and responsive. From there you can access the printer settings and features manually. This printer, like most of the modern HP printers, supports automatic ink ordering when it detects low levels of ink. To use that feature you are required to create an account with HP. This printer comes with a 3 month free HP Insta ink trial if you wish to try it out. Overall this is an HP printer and they are reliable. It is very well made, is light and compact. It does the job well, quiet, and fast, and it’s cost efficient to maintain. The modern design that includes a touch screen and the two tone color will fit nicely in any home or office. It is easy to use and set up. On top of all that it is eco friendly, as it is made of 60% recyclable plastic. It can order ink on its own when it runs low so you won't have to do it. In the box you get the printer, power cord and manuals and two sets of ink.

Easy to set up and get started right away. Automatically prints on both sides of the paper saving money and the environment. It is fairly quiet and fast for a smaller printer.

1st new printer in years. While it is a pretty basic model, I am a very basic user and so the connection and set issue took me a little extra time. After some back and forth with the help line it is currently working very nicely. Printing and colors are clear and of excellent quality.

Easy to set up. Like the touchscreen feature. Print quality is really good. Comes with ink which is a plus. I'm having trouble connecting it to my wi-fi but I've only tried to hook up to wifi once, so I can't say if it will continue to give my problems.

Nice looking, good print appearance, quiet. I had a little difficulty connecting it initially. It didn't print from the computer. Still trying to figure it out. The print I did get was a copy document.

I’ve had this printer almost a month and so far it’s a good little printer! All I’ve ever owned were HP printers. The set-up process was pretty easy and it’s on WiFi since there’s no connection in the room or anywhere near it. I can print anywhere in the house from my phone and my laptop. It does auto double-sided printing which was a must-have for me. I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because it’s already telling me I’m low on ink. I’ve only printed a few documents, no pictures, since I got it. For someone who only uses a printer occasionally, seems like the ink should last longer. I do remember reading a few reviews that mentioned HP didn’t put much ink in the cartridges that come with their printers. So I was a little disappointed, but not surprised.

Couldn't be happier with purchase. Flawless, quick setup. Easy user interface. I was especially interested in scanning to file and the interface is very robust. Digital display on the unit itself is intuitive and, therefore, easy to follow. Be aware if you have prior HP devices and were not using HP Smart, you will need to remove all drivers/programs before installing HP Smart. Enjoy!

Easy to setup and use. Quality seems great. I love the ease of using double sided printing. I gave 4 stars vs 5 because I find it a bit low in starting up and printing.

This product is okay, price-wise. It prints okay, and actually it prints really good for it's price. So, if your looking for something that's gonna get the job done, get it, and it also looks super good on a desk, its such a nice and aesthetic color.
