Easy to set up & extremely fast! Relatively small footprint. This works great for our small office environment. It replaced a prior HP Laser 3030 that had been heavily used. Only 4-stars (as I wish we could have optional color capability at somewhere near this price point). Jim

Small footprint, easy set. I wished there were more colors offered. The operation is pretty quick and pretty quiet.

This is everything I wanted in a simple small-office printer. It was very easy to setup, and easy to network, and the speed and image quality are excellent for the price range. The only check mark in the minus column is that the paper tray capacity is kind of small. But if you're doing high volume printing you're probably not looking at this model anyway. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone for a small-footprint one-color printer at a reasonable price.

We use this printer at work. It is capable of handling everything we have thrown at it so far.

Replaced my previous HP laser printer with this new one. As with the previous, this one was easy to setup. I love the performance, very fast, and crisp, clear text and images.

With over 20 years working with printers, I have found the HP laserjets to be the most dependable and trouble free printers on the market. This one is no exception. The print is high quality and fast.

This is a great printer for the price. HP always makes quality products although they have lost a little over time they are still a superior product when it comes to their printers.

Hard to get your hands on these nowadays but lucked up finding this one. Quiet, quick prints.

First, I've always considered HP to be the standard for printers, but I've never had one for home use. I wanted a laser printer that would do both two-sided printing and have a legal size paper printing option, but didn't want to pay a king's ransom. This one fits the bill perfectly! It was a little more expensive than I wanted to go (but only a little bit), but I have ZERO complaints. Set up was easy and the output is clean and crisp. I'm not printing all the time, so it does take "naps" - but when I hit the print button, there is very little lag time before it wakes up and gets to work.

I got it for my 24-year old, still a student (now grad student) and it is almost exactly what they need. We have had very good luck with HP Laserjets (we are on, I think, just our second one from before that student was born, maybe third). It is hard to really know how well it works until ten years later when it is still producing prints at low cost without problems. Otherwise I would give it a 5. The only issue so far was a bit of trouble getting it connected/fully functional, although I think that problem has been resolved.

Talk about solid, reliable, and fast!!! This one is just what I was looking for. I am very happy with this purchase!!!

I like hp printers this is quick and excellent quality built performance great.

Relatively easy to set up although I had to go to the HP website as the automatic links didn’t do the job. Good basic copying is what you get with this laser printer. Advertising led me to believe it was an automatic two-sided printer but Nothing is automatic you have to take the paper out and re-submit it, albeit to a special receptacle which does make it a little easier

In recent years HP printers are either high end or low end. Not much choice in the middle. The HP LJ Pro 404dn is just about the middle. A decent printer that is reasonably fast. The printer is easy to setup either on the network or USB. The paper tray is a tad small but most home printers have small trays these days. The LCD panel is nice to have, esp for home network setup.

Great HP quality. Has presented some operating quirks that we are working out in a networked environment.

A bit pricey but delivers where it matters. These hp printers are great because they do last, the toner comes with the drum, that is real difference keeping good print quality. I manage tons of small printers. And go series with drum is part of the toner they do keep the printing quality as their age.
