I have owned a HTC Vive for almost a year and have a couple hundred hours in VR under my belt.
Cons:
Tracking is not as precise as on the Vive
Can't track controllers when outside the field of view
Screen seems a little dim
PROs:
One cable with one connection
Higher Resolution than the Vive
I actually like the controllers that have the thumbstick
FOV seems a bit bigger than Vive
No External Tracking needed. This is huge.
For full price, I would be hard pressed to recommend this over an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive. But for VR games where you are sitting, I think this was as good if not better than the two older systems.
While not great, I think the internal tracking is a huge step forward for VR and in the near future will be the standard.

Ok, if you've never experienced VR before, this will seem pretty cool. Having tried many different headsets from Samsung Gear VR to HTC Vive, these won't seem all that special -- Mixed Reality is a fancy word for VR.. don't let marketing folks sucker you into thinking it's any different. The convenience in using this Mixed Reality headset versus HTC or Oculus variants is that these use an optical sensor (cameras) which are forward facing and are part of the headset versus external sensors that you have to mount to walls or set up on tripods. It is NOT wireless so you'll be tethered to your computer while using this.
Set up is fairly painless. First, you have to update Windows 10 to the Fall Creator's update. Once you do that, simply plug this headset into A) USB port and B) HDMI port... the hardware will automatically be detected and recognized and the software will launch taking you through a series of steps to calibrate... very straightforward and painless.
The experience of this headset wasn't anything mind blowing in comparison to existing headsets. I'll say though that this headset felt more comfy than others but YMMV on that since all noggins are not made equal. Also, not having to install a bunch of external sensors everywhere was very convenient! If I were to name any cons with this headset, it would be:
Cons: The lenses were not quite as clear as I had expected especially around the edges where there is some blur. Wearing prescription glasses with this works perfectly fine, but it's a bit of a pain to take the headset off when wearing prescriptions. Hand controllers feel a bit cheap compared to the competition.
Pros: No external sensors required. Well crafted headset with adjustable head band. It's comfortable and works just as well as other headsets in its price range.

This head set is pretty good. Picture is really nice and it’s comfortable, but adjusting the picture with the software is a little difficult. I couldn’t get it dialed in quite right so edges of the picture were a little blurry.

Interesting VR option. However a little tricky to set up due to connection to the video card. Had to do change a in the BIOS to open built in HDMI to have it running with the monitor togheter. Overall interesting. Looking forward on playing some games on it.

I got this Mixed Reality Headset FREE with the purchase of an HP Omen 877-244, and I think I was the first person at least at the store I bought it from as they had no idea how to ring it up or that the controllers were in a separate box. I had to make a second trip to the store to get the controllers they didn't give me originally. Anyway, the VR experience is amazing, not having to set up sensors is great, but the camera sensors built-in to the headset, may loose track of the controllers if you put your hands behind your head, or close.

Great product still in its infancy. More for use in Windows with apps in the app store than for games (steam vr support is probably one to 2 months away...). Very comfortable and easy to flip up and down without taking the whole unit off your head. Not needing room sensors or a pc that could run NORAD is also a plus. Great for watching video and actually using your pc. Microsoft has a good thing here. Hopefully they'll keep it going. Also, I had zero problems setting this up. Once you downloaded the fall creator's update on your windows 10 pc, you are good to go.

I purchased this to try immersive virtual reality. They work really well and do not require all the cables and sensors that the competition uses. Now I am not knocking the others, but for occasional use, these work really well, are comfortable, and work really well on Steam VR with access to Oculus games after easy setup.(Look up online) Batman Arkham is awesome as well as offerings through Microsoft store with a lot of really good free stuff as well as being able to download and watch free 360 videos. I seen Angel Falls better than if I would have actually been there, but was there wearing these. Highly recommended. Easy to setup. Needs fast i5 or i7 processor,AMD 8350 or better, Intel 620 video is minimum but best is a gaming laptop or desktop with NVIDIA 1060 or better video especially for Oculus games. Check it out!

I do not have any VR experience besides the Mixed Reality. The set up was pretty easy to learn. I just feel like that at the current, there is not as much support for Mixed Reality as the HTC Vive or or Oculus Rift. Im sure this should change with time though. The complaint I have is the strain I get on my forehead and neck from the headset but I am wearing technology on my head.

I got this Mixed Reality headset and controllers for free bundled with a gaming laptop. Currently, there are not many games in the windows store but there are ways to play SteamVR and Oculus games too, which makes this headset worth. Comparing the specs with other MR headsets,It is bit heavier but is still comfortable

My local store only got 3 of these units in stock for the sale. The one I initially purchased and brought home had a display issue that turned off the HMD every few seconds and was obviously defective. Luckily I got back to the store before the last unit was gone, so I exchanged. The second unit works great! Good tradeoff vs the more expensive sets from HTC and Oculus. Especially on sale for $200 off the bundle of the controllers and HMD, the slightly lower field of view in these is still immersive in what you're doing, you're just wearing sunglasses with side shields. The view in the FOV is sharp and crisp, but I'm running on a very nicely built computer, so YMMV.

HP WMR is a great experience. I really enjoy playing every game I can play in vr. The only downside I have with it is that the headset doesn't set firmly on your face so when you look down it wants to tilt forward. So far this is the only negative thing. Great experience. Would recommend.

Had to update windows 10 four times until it accepted my version and allowed the download, several hours. Has only a 3.5 mm audio jack to associate headphones and microphone. All my headphones are usb. When placing desktop as virtual app, no full screen but using as wall frame still looks nice, except when the lenses fog up and become blurry. Using movies from hard drive were slow to load but then played well. Programming should allow avatar to sit on the virtual couch instead of standing right thru it. Dont know how hard to program if standing in front of a seat, chair or couch for say 3 seconds then avatar will sit down. For a first time using a virtual world, was impressed but if not for black friday sale, would not have spent almost 400 dollars for it.

The selection of games for Windows Mixed Reality is much more limited than Vive or Occulus but at $200 some considerations have to be given. The Inside out tracking is fine most of the time but anymore than a five or so seconds outside view of the sensors on your face. Weight is good and can use for more than 15 or 20 minutes without an issue. The controllers chew through batteries so rechargeable batteries are recommended.
All and all worth it if under $250 any more and jump up to the other headsets out there.

Cool that it was included with new PC order during the holidays. Interesting way to interact with the windows interface. Would be great for more games to support it.
