Customers are saying

Customers admire the Gaming Desktop's performance and the quality of its NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GPU, frequently praising its value and suitability for gaming at 1080p/1440p resolution. However, some users express concerns regarding the system's cooling capabilities and the noise level produced by the fans, particularly in sleep mode. The compact case size is also noted as a potential limitation by some customers.

    HOT AND PROPRIETARY

PROS: - great hardware (5800x and a 3060TI) - not much else CONS: - AWFUL cooling - Motherboard is proprietary, don’t expect to be able to upgrade memory easily, etc - whole machine is small and things are tight (small case) The huge problem with this machine is the cooling. There is ONE intake fan, one exhaust fan, and a 120mm liquid cooler for the CPU. This thing will reach 90 Celsius easily if you try to play a game. There are very limited things you can do to fix this. You can replace the fans with better ones, but the GPU will still regularly overheat. The GPU is also a HP oem model. Not exactly what you want if you plan to upgrade in the future (resale), you are better off getting name brand and non-proprietary components. This is a good deal for a 5800x and a 3060TI with a 850w PSU, but the rest of the machine is terrible.

Starting the research for my son's Christmas gift back in October 2020, I found an awesome buy (Omen 30L, Ryzen3700x, RTX2060). I always swear by the Intel cult, only to do more research. I was so impressed with my son's computer, I swear - Ryzen 5800x kicks butt! and all other stats for this computer... Note: Since this is a great gaming computer, it may overheat, so under volt to 1.1v. That's why I also love the HP gaming hub software! Game ON!!!

Bad Case and Fans Bring It Down

It’s a decent prebuilt, especially for the price. Major issues are: thermal throttling due to the bad airflow within the case, not just because fans are bad (they are bad) but also because the case is too small and tight. If you’re getting this, you will be able to play games at okayish performance but you will be limited. System ran fairly quiet and cool with basic tasks but I did notice that the more I had it, the more it started ramping up the fans on basic tasks. Fans have a very annoying coil whine sound. They’re not loud (on regular speed) but the coil whine was more annoying than laptop type of airflow. Build is okay and there are some premium parts. Lightning on RAM was impossible to configure after (!) updates . This is a decent PC but don’t expect it truly utilize RTX 3060Ti or give you any ray-tracing.

So I got it today, it turned on perfectly, all the lights work well, I went into settings and info and all parts are what they were advertised as. So everything for now is looking pretty amazing and it looks amazing. It has a Omen Hub that changes lights, keeps track of your temps, and has all you need to start. Now for questions about this pc, it comes with 2, 8gb of HyperX Ram RGB, so 2 Sticks. It has 3 fans, one is connected to the Liquid cooling system. The system does not make almost any noise. If you have the money I would totally invest into this PC. Keep gaming my fellow gamers! -Crow Out-

This configuration is very good and my son loves it.Most games run great with good temperatures although we placed the PC stands on two brick sized wooden blocks on top of the desk raising it about three extra inches making air flow better. One more bottom fan would have been fantastic but we’re already happy with the way it is.And for the market prices on components I consider this a good deal.It also looks great. Happy Gaming!!!

Great PC! I typically build my own, but with prices and product shortages, I went this route once it came back in stock. The only thing I did was added a second SSD (2TB) and doubled the RAM. Pros: -Not much bloatware -Great specs -Very quiet fans even when set to turbo speed -Water-cooling -Awesome lighting -Simple lighting and overlocking options built into HP software -Doesn't have the same issues with RAM as the Intel builds -Rewards and gifts through HP's software Cons: -Built in software for overclocking could be better -Lighting software is a bit finicky

The specs of this computer are fantastic for the price. 3060 ti and Ryzen CPU + 16 GB dual channel RAM, 750 W cooler master power supply. No issues with WiFi and computer has only had 2 minor crashes in the past two weeks (can blame windows for that). Only downside is that it runs a bit hot, CPU temps can be lowered immensely by setting power plan to more balanced (5% minimum and 99% maximum). Full load the GPU can get to 80 degrees +- 2 degrees which is within safe temperatures but a little bit toasty. Can see how people would have an issue with this but setting a slightly more aggressive fan curve using afterburner (stock fan curve will keep fans pretty quiet) will drop temperatures on the GPU for those who don't mind a little bit more noise. Overall this prebuilt computer is pretty great. Would give it 4.5 stars for the thermals which are technically fine but not up to par with a properly built PC. I plan to replace the intake fan and add another fan to the bottom of the case but I'm not in a rush to do this. If this come in stock I would definitely buy it due to the quality of materials.

Same as most people I bought this because I was in a bind and unwilling to pay the scalpers' markup on a GPU. This prebuilt is a good value in the context of the current market but would be considerably less so if the components were available at MSRP. PROS: The silicon in this machine does what it says on the tin. The 5800X gives frictionless flight through all but industrial scale productivity workloads and paired with the 3060ti you get floor it & forget it gaming performance at high refresh 1440p resolution. CONS: My God, these thermals. The 5800X is a notoriously hot chip and this setup struggles to keep it cool. Out of the box at normal ambient temps it idled in the high 50s-low 60s Celsius. The stock 120mm AIO cooler is just straight up underweight for this job and the tempered front of the case means no push-pull going on. Looking into it I found the CPU voltage was set to a whopping 1.375V. Tuning it some I was able to get idle temps down to the mid-high 40s by undervolting it down to 1.175V, and this has not had any discernible effect on either my productivity or gaming performance. TLDR: Good value in this market, but undervolt it right away.

Pros: -Very impressive build quality! -Silent most of the time, quiet while gaming -Impressive case with push button latch for easy internal component access. -RGB lighting turns off while system idles -2x pcie nvme x4 slots and one nvme WiFi slot -750w platinum efficiency psu -prewired for 2 additional 2.5/3.5” hard drives -Aio liquid cooler has custom tube lengths that fit perfectly -Hyper X Fury RGB 2x8gb 3733mhz ram -Overclocking available right in omen software Neutral: -3060ti is oem HP and is lighter than even my rtx 3060 xc from EVGA. Seriously this 3060ti is the lightest gpu I own. Despite the low weight it’s stays relatively cool under load. Would’ve preferred a beefier cooler however. -SSD is sn530 from Western Digital. Drive has one single 1tb memory chip on an otherwise empty board. It’s fine but nothing special. Cons: -WiFi module is garbage (luckily easily replaced) -Mouse and keyboard are e-waste Wasn’t expecting much from HP as I haven’t bought a prebuilt desktop in well over a decade, but I’m actually very impressed. There’s a lot of proprietary designs in this machine but basically everything is user replaceable other than the motherboard. They used high quality parts where it matters and only used a couple cheap parts. I’m happy.

I'm going to put a very, very honest review it is really good and super fast yes it can get a little loud but with headphones, you won't hear a thing. It can get HOT IF YOU DONT GO TO THE OMEN CONTROLS ( OMEN DOWNLOADS IT FOR YOU, DONT HAVE TO DOWNLOAD IT) just turn the fans on turbo (will get louder) but I would rather have a pc that's cool than and loud than hot and quiet.

This is a excellent PC! My first gaming pc was made by ibuypower with a 1650 super but decided to go with HP this time and glad I did. This thing is a monster but as other reviews say it does run hot. when playing games I get around 75-80 Celsius. So far everything is working great.

The Omen worked and performed well out of the box. However, it runs hot. Both the GPU and CPU reached 95*C routinely for me while playing Warzone. The 3060Ti is only a ~200 watt graphics card and shouldn’t be cooking like that. The 5800x can probably handle it but it still made me apprehensive about long term reliability. A quick internet search will show that these are commonly modded to improve their cooling. For the price, they should already have decent case thermals. I didn’t feel like modding a warrantied PC or spending more on it. I ultimately returned it. I can still see it being viable for someone desperate to have a gaming PC at a time when getting a GPU for a parts build is difficult and expensive.
