Got this during a best buy deal and combined with students discount. Fast and smooth. I love the key board. Although I do not use it in tablet mode often its not bad. My previous laptop was 15.6" and I did not notice that this screen is much smaller. The only issue bothers me is the sound of fan kicking in back to back. I am using a laptop fan to reduce it happening.
Overall good choice for the price I paid.

Just purchased it yesterday actually bought 2 one for me and one for the wife. Absolutely love it. It was on sale for $499 compare to normally $749. Build quality is great, touchscreen option, fingerprint reader and love the keypad backlit option. Only thing I wish it had was an ethernet port and better battery life but for $499 it was well worth it. Also i live the luminous gold color.

I would give it 5 stars but I have only had it for a month and I feel that a month is not long enough to really and truly give a 5 star rating for technology.
However, I would definitely recommend this product! I am a college student and received a grant to buy myself a new laptop. This one was perfect and still is perfect! It is super easy to use. I love the backlit keyboard and that it has to brightness settings. I don't know how I have used other laptops before this one! It was right on my budget along with the Microsoft office. I am super happy with my purchase. Being a student I always have multiple types of pages, videos, power-points, word docs, and so much other stuff pulled up at once and it handles everything quick and efficiently. It is also great with my zoom calls.
My only complaint is that the battery does not seem to last long enough and find myself always having a charger on me or near by.

This is a great computer. Love the lighted keyboard feature, touch screen works very well. The speed of the computer is good. The only downside is that this computer goes dead very quickly. But it starts up fast and I love the sleek design. Got this on sale and I feel like it is a great buy.

I bought this for my daughter to take to college. She had a Lenovo Yoga she had used through high school, but it was old and its battery was only lasting about 90 minutes on a charge. I am partial to HP and have a Spectre laptop that I have been very happy. I chose this Pavilion as a less expensive option for her. Compared to the Spectre’s aluminum case, it’s not as solid feeling, but being almost $1,000 cheaper, I can live with that.
I’d say the biggest con of this laptop is the color of the keyboard. The silver keys make it hard to see their labels without the backlight on. And even with the backlight, it still looks washed-out. I prefer a dark colored keyboard. Had it come in a dark shell, I’d have bought that, but silver was all they had in stock.
There was a problem with the laptop that did not appear until it was almost two months old. It developed a problem with charging. It would not fully charge, and then it would not operate with the charger plugged in. So it had to be charged it as much as it would take, then unplugged from the charger and used only on battery. My daughter called HP support and they were VERY helpful. It turns out this is a known issue related to the logic built-in to extend battery life. The HP rep stepped her through a BIOS update and that solved it.
I would not hesitate to recommend this laptop. For the price, nothing else comes close.

Good PC for what I paid for it, $500 on sale.
Starts and runs very fast, nice screen, like the lighted Keyboard. Finger print reader works and is a nice feature, gets you on to your PC even faster.
Does get a little warm, Battery life is fine, not as bad as many have said.
One issue is that the sides were the top and bottom of computer are attached has an overlap that is a little sharp, makes it seem cheeper then it should.
HP support was not good when I had an issue that I had to resolve my self, very disappointed with HP support.

This is my third laptop purchase after a couple of unsatisfactory purchases in the past couple of years. I'm thrilled! This thing is Speedy Gonzales on startup, wake up, and all activity. It's very compact yet solid. The fingerprint reader is a great feature. It only takes a finger reading and a second to go from sleep to fully ready to take on your computing needs. Set up was also a breeze. The color is very vibrant. It's only been 24 hours but not a single bad thing to say.

Lightweight, combines both tablet and laptop into one!!!
Lighted keys are a plus too!!!
My only gripe is the battery life could be much better. Otherwise, it's a great laptop!!!

I had high hopes when I saw the specs for this laptop but I am slightly disappointed.
First the pros:
backlit keyboard is very helpful when its dark, touchscreen very useful, tablet mode useful for those who need it, the fingerprint scanner makes opening the laptop so much faster than typing out a pin, everything runs fairly smooth, screen quality pretty good.
Cons:
fan can get not too loud but start going off if you have a new tabs open on google, the laptop seems to be built badly (the edges of the laptop on the sides, bottom and the cover, aren't flush with each other so potential danger with dust and stuff. the main complaint is that the battery life is pretty bad. having about 2 things open, it lasts maybe 3 hours. I wanted to use this laptop for college but I'll have to carry around a charger and look for outlets everywhere.
Things to just know:
this touchpad kind of works like a macbook with lots of different gestures, so if you get this laptop I suggest learning the gestures so you don't accidently do anything. The trackpad is a little sensitive.

Bought this laptop during Thanksgiving 2020 and so far it has been a great piece of electronic. I have been using it for my day to day normal work which includes just the basic operation/functionality.
I will just list out some of the pros & cons that I have noticed so far:
Pros:
1. Light weight and easy to carry
2. Sleek design and appealing
3. So far it has been pretty fast in performance.
Cons:
1. I could hear fan and the processor at times which to me is not a very pleasant sound all the time
2. The MS Edge browser has been weird sometimes where it just hangs. And again it could be a browser issue but not a machine issue.

I've had this computer for about a month now and so far so good! It is a great size, not too big with still being small enough to be portable. I love the touch screen option and how you can fold it and have a tablet. The keyboard lights up and is responsive. It holds a charge for a decent amount of time. Its powers on quickly and is very user friendly. I purchased this since I am going back to school and with children being home this semester I would need my own dedicated computer. I have always purchased apple products in the past, but just didn't want to pay their price point. I am happy I made the choice to go with this HP.

This laptop has treated me well the last two years, being used for not only college purposes (virtual lectures, writing papers, annotating pdfs), but also used for entertainment including streaming, and playing minecraft and sims4. My only complaint is that the battery does not hold up well against playing sims. The touch screen that can be folded flat has been very useful as well when using virtual textbooks or readings for classes.

I love this thing. It is lightweight, pretty quick, and beautiful. I’m happy I just pressed order instead of closing the window as I always do a hundred times before actually making a purchase. I use it for light gaming and it’s just as smooth. Does get a little warm, but it doesn’t overheat. The fingerprint recognition is awesome because I can keep my kid out unless allowed and the touch screen is perfect for kicking back and getting stuff done, surfing the web, or simply social networking. I highly recommend if you’re looking for something not to expensive, but still has a little power.

Love this laptop! When I was first starting college I had an older computer that was much bulkier and very slow so I needed an update. After this purchase I found joy in using a laptop, before it felt more like a pain.
Now I can carry my laptop around, it's very lightweight and does not slow up like I had previously experienced.
I don't use the 360 capability much but it is nice to have a touch screen. Sometimes I want to just tap the screen instead of using the cursor.
10/10 would recommend this computer for any college student.

I purchased this same laptop 14 months ago. I had to buy a new one because the keyboard on the old one stopped working-just past the 1 year warranty (ugh). I thought I'd give it another go because I really like this laptop. I like that it is small and lightweight compared to other laptops. It has 2 small changes I noticed since the last one I purchased; the power button is a button integrated into the keyboard instead of sticking out on the side near the ports and the keyboard itself feels different in that the keys are not as sensitive to the touch as compared to the last one I had. I hope this keyboard lasts longer than 14 months. It is an all around great computer but I wouldn't recommend if you are going to use it for gaming because it gets quite hot when playing a video game. I would recommend this computer for everything else you use a computer for. 4 stars instead of 5 because I'm not sure what will happen yet 14 months down the road.

As much as i want to give this a 4 star... its getting 3. This laptop is fast, touchscreen and overall works for my daily work use. BUT... It overheats, so much that i had to buy a fan that it is constantly attached to. Otherwise, a simple zoom conference will have my laptops fan on overdrive and super hot to the touch!
It randomly shuts down in the middle of the night.
I have had issues with the internet not connecting (even when wifi was working fine) and google drive no longer works. (Not certain this is a HP issue or what but never had this issue with my old laptop).
I originally wanted a laptop that could be flipped for presentations but i find myself NEVER using it this way. When i did, i felt like i was going to break it and it really was not convenient, felt awkward but that is more of a personal preference.
Other than these (major) issues... i like the overall look. The speed (when it's not misbehaving) is great.
The size and overall appears is nice.
