I had a genuinely good experience with Faro (sp? sorry!) I've been looking at laptops for months and have been all over to all of the Best Buys... Goodyear, Avondale, timert (nice store)...6 total olus online. I'm looking at specs, I'm looking at CPU, I'm looking at RAM, I'm looking at the display type, I'm comparing them to the online store of the manufacturer versus the best buy price, etc., etc., you know, like we all do all the time by default. I finally get it down to between the 16th version of this laptop and the Samsung Galaxy Book 4 pro 360. I have the Galaxy Book 3 360 Pro and they just look too much the same to go with so I went with this unique design here and while it didn't come with a charger or a pen or an external Wi-Fi adapter, It has zero imperfections on it, all the way around, A perfect find. Taking this laptop home meant doing what Geek Squad should have done which was repartitioned the bio so it would be able to be updated putting the HP software back on the unit and reinstalling the Wi-Fi driver which they didn't reinstalled during their run. If I didn't happen to have a USB-C to Ethernet dongle, I would have been pretty upset. But I wasn't at all worked out and this laptop is pretty cool. The battery doesn't last but about five six hours, but I dont care. The heat discharge from the evo chip is noticeable but low, which is why that 360 2-in-1 comes in handy where you just flip it. Anyway, it really isn't anything shocking about this review. I just made you read all of it, but aside from that, the gentleman that helped me was really nice, and he wasn't careless. He was very genuine, like everybody is. If you just take a second to get to know them, instead of just being jerks, So if you know what you want before you go in, you're going to have a much better time than going in and not knowing what you want because then really what happens is on you. I actually enjoyed my experience more than I did in any of the other Best Buys I went to.

Amazing Versatile 2 in 1 Laptop multi use Laptop

This 2 in 1 laptop is the most versatile laptop I have used. The design is premium Aluminum material which looks and feels great. The device is super slim, and easily fits inside your bookbag. I really love the edge cutouts, and how the USB C port, and the audio jacks are incorporated into these slits. This tucks the cable behind the device when charging, so its not coming out the side, and gives more space for the second thunderbolt plug. The screen shows very great details w/o the sacrifice of it being full 4k and hurting battery life. I set mine to full 120hz and is did not seem to affect the battery life much so far. The keyboard is amazing with perfect spaced out keys that feel great to the touch along with an awesome haptic trackpad. This thing runs task with 0 lag. I have not tried editing 4k videos yet, but will be doing that at some point and expect this to perform well. The Benchmark test are a great improvement over previous years model especially in dual core performance, and a slight increase in graphics performance. Dont expect to play top games with this device as its not a gaming laptop, but basic games run w/o any hiccups. You could also buy a EGPU which plugs into the laptop via Thunderbolt port and play any major titles, but these are quite pricey. Pro's: -Premium design -excellence performance -great keyboard -improved graphics and processor -good battery life -compact size -fingerprint reader, and Windows Hello support -great for personal and business use -compact 65w charger Cons: -No HDMI Port -does not come with stylus when bought from BestBuy version -does not come with multiple dongles including hdmi dongle you get order through HP -Does not come with Sleeve Case anymore

    Failed after a year

Product completely failed 1 year, and 1 month after purchase. HP would not warranty, nor cover in any way shape or form. Parts were no longer available as this unit was "5 years out of production" when they had released it only a few months prior to my purchase. Absolutely garbage company, and garbage product. will never buy HP again. The failure was one SMD component on the main board that was able to be replaced, and unit brought back into service, thanks to a local repair shop to me. Still cost me a fair bit to have repaired when it should have been covered under warranty.

This generation suffers from the same issue last generation had. While closed the screen will press and rub against some of the keys and eventually will get scratched. Just returned mine yesterday as i noticed it had superficial marks on the screen when I'd open it after it being closed for hours. Otherwise it was a great laptop.

    Fulfills all my college needs

The laptop is very nice and came almost brand new as I bought it used to save some money. I would recommend it as the display is very nice. The only problem I would say I have is the glare from on screen from the sun, but that will appear on almost any screen. It is a powerful laptop as I bought it for college and it is able to run my engineering programs with easy. I find myself having multiple programs running simultaneously, most of the time 5 renderings in the background, and it runs just fine. I have the 32gb ram 2tb ssd and it is all I need. This version did not come with the graphics card, you can see this as running higher games on it cause lag and the battery to drain. However it is not necessarily a gaming laptop and if you did want a gaming laptop you should probably find a dedicated laptop for that. But if you are looking for a powerful laptop to run programs or watch movies are just browse on with ease, this is a perfect choice for you. I don’t find myself using the 360 degree fold feature a lot but the touchscreen is a life saver. It is nice to be lazy at times and use the screen as a tablet while simultaneously using the keyboard. The light on the keyboard makes it really nice to use in the dark, it only has the one white color but I don’t need LED colors. The fingerprint reader is iffy at times but it will work if you try around with it. Overall o love the sleek design and it provides all I need. I would definitely recommend buying usb c adapters as it only comes with two usb c ports and a usb port. I love this laptop and it is well worth the price. I can use it for around 8-10 hours running high programs. It is able to run my school programs that laptops such as MacBooks cannot run. I definitely recommend this laptop.

The best Windows 2 in 1, still a Windows Laptop

I have been looking for the perfect Windows laptop for the last few years, and this is the closest I have found thus far. I have been using the Macbook Pro 14 2021 since launch day, and I still hold firmly that this is the best laptop ever made. However, it is really not for me. I have tried the Dell XPS 15 2022, the Razer Blade 15 2022, and this is far above those for my use case. I was able to kill two birds with one stone and replace my iPad and MacBook with this laptop. The pros are: phenomenal haptic touchpad (a rarity on a Windows machine), a great high resolution OLED fast refresh rate touch screen, great battery life for a Windows laptop, a very good keyboard, lightning fast Windows Hello, 2 in 1 convertibility, fairly light and portable, a USBA port, USBC charging, a very generous 32 GB of RAM and 2 TB of NVME SSD configuration on the $1900 model, premium yet not MacBook level build quality. Cons: The performance is subpar, even comparing to my 3 year old MBP it is outclassed, the Intel Core Ultra 7 is not a very underwhelming; the high performance mode it is very underwhelming, the high fan noise when doing all but the most basic tasks, the inability to set a non-Windows modern standby sleep mode, leading the CPU to be active when closed and plugged in so that charging time is abysmal; and the laptop is loud and hot while I am asleep, high power consumption while watching videos, and finally the lack of a USBC charging port on either side of the laptop.

    The king of 2-in-1s

This is a phenominal computer, full stop. If you want a 2-in-1 style ultrabook, this is a pricey and excellent option. Everything about it is premium, from the rock-solid frame to the screen hinges to the haptic trackpad to the OLED panel to the 9mp video camera. Starting with input, the keyboard is among the very best I have ever used. The haptic trackpad IS the best I have used on a Windows laptop, easily as good as the MacBook Pro...and better in some ways as the features to control screen brightness and volume by swiping the trackpad are really well done. Screen is excellent. Crisp, bright, and highly saturated. Pen support for MPP pens works well. Speakers are the best I have heard in an Ultrabook, and nearly as good as the MacBook pro 14 (a much heavier and non-2-in-1 design). Webcam is sharp, clear, and the HP UI features work really well. Ports may be the one area of some complaint as there is no HDMI and no Mini SD or SD. Only 2 USBC on the right side, and a single USB A. Otherwise, the ports are fine. Having Windows Hello camera AND fingerprint is a nice touch. Performance is very good - not exceptional - but very good. Battery life is above average for Windows. Certainly not as good as ARM but better than most other Intel machines. Specs are strong with 32GB of RAM and 2 TB SSD. Nothing to complain about there. Overall, this just exudes quality and I recommend it if it goes on sale.

Overall great laptop and would recommend it. The screen is great, the keyboard feels nice, trackpad works very well. There are a few things I don't like about this laptop and I don't understand why HP designed it that way. The power button/fingerprint scanner is the upper right-most key. My two previous laptops (an HP Envy and an Asus Zenbook) both had the DEL key as the right-most key and I have to be careful not to hit the power button when deleting something. it's an odd design decision considering I use the DEL key much more frequently than the power button. It also complains whenever I plug-in a different power supply about using an original HP power supply. Because I use this with a USB dock with power delivery, I don't want to use the HP power supply. And finally, the MyHP app does not allow me to change performance settings if I'm using a 3rd party power supply. It seems like HP is going out of their way to make things incompatible. I am also seeing a lot of errors in the Reliability Monitor related to HP Display Control and occasional Hardware Error that's a bit alarming. Seems like HP released this without fully fixing all the bugs. I have owned an HP Omen laptop, an HP Envy desktop and laptop and now this Spectre but I will think twice about buying another HP because of these odd design/compatibility issues. I hope HP is paying attention. Otherwise, it works well for my main reason to buy this laptop - photo editing. This is powerful enough to meet my needs.

Had this computer for two weeks. It is the best laptop I've ever owned. Extremely fast, whisper quiet. Webcam is great (not true for the zenbook 14 sadly). Not as light as they come but fine for me. The only thing, literally the only thing I'd call out... is yes, the screen door effect is there in the display. Yes it's noticeable. Yes it's not ideal. Because it is my only complaint about the laptop, and because the colors and contrast of the display are objectively phenomenal, I'm only taking one star off. The oled display is impressive so I understand why they went with it, but the screendoor effect is there and you'll mostly see in the white background. Don't buy if you're the kind of person to fixate on it and wish you had a perfect display.

This computer gets the job done. I use Photoshop for graphic design, and this computer has enough RAM and speed to handle it. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I almost always have to open it with my password because the fingerprint scanner is inconsistent.
