Breath taking AMOLED 4K screen! X360 fun!

I am a computer support professional. As a result, I tend to have "one of everything" so I can support my users and continue my support training. So it was time to have a 4K screen. I have had my eye on this baby since Christmas and with the pandemic lock downs, decided it was time. It is truly cutting edge technology with 10th gen chipsets, and the gorgeous 4K, AMOLED, Gorilla Glass screen. i only buy core i5 processors, as for me...that is enough. The system is extremely responsive and runs Office 365 very well. Battery life seems as advertised - 13 hours! Even streaming 4K video! (Not tested, but never hurting for power.) Keyboard is easy to get used to and the keys give a nice tactile feedback and audible muffled "click". I like that. And I would not own a laptop without backlit keys! YouTube streams 4K content without a hiccup and again shames my LG 4K LCD tv. (Non-AMOLED.) The Pencil is fun and flipping the screen over turns the device effectively into an iPad! Drawbacks - this machine can handle simple or older games, or games set to minimum requirements. The BIOS has the video memory locked to 128GB. At the very reputable site "Can I Run It" - https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri-score, this machine can only run 19 of the current top 100 games. But there is a huge list of games it can play at minimum settings. I am not affiliated with HP in any way and work for a medical database company. I simply have fallen in love with this laptop!

I was looking for a 2 in 1 laptop that can help me with note taking as well as for studying. This laptop is very compact and it has some great features. I don't think any other laptop has a hardware camera switch. You can shut the power to camera using this switch, especially if you are concerned about your privacy. The only disappointment is that the note taking is not as friendly in this laptop. I guess it is because of the limitations on the Hp pen you get it with package. You will have to write with the pen perpendicular to the screen. Overall a very compact and powerful laptop.

We bought this laptop after loving our first Spectre. The screen quality on this model did not disappoint. Vivid colors and crisp. We don't love that it only has 8GB of memory, but we don't plan on pushing this laptop to its limits. It'll be mostly used for school, which used to mean browsing the web and online discussion boards, but now includes a lot of zoom meetings. And after trying the webcam, it's got great quality. It's a solid piece of equipment all around.

The HP - Spectre 3 in 1 Convertible Laptop I have used it sporadically. Two weeks ago, I turned it off normally. The battery was charged 100%. Today it does not want to turn on for no reason. The HP warranty Status Expired Start Date January 09, 2021 End Date February 12, 2022. Best Buy sold it to me and...? Should I throw it in the garbage can?

I replaced my old Spectre x360 with this new one when a great deal of the day popped up. Couldn't pass it up. The good: It's as quick and responsive as you would expect of a laptop with a 10th gen Intel processor. Quick booting, and everything is smooth, even when running in full 4K resolution. Of course, the highlight is the excellent OLED screen. You do get a little off center color shading and reflectivity, but straight on, you've got a great looking screen, as you would expect of an OLED, with deep blacks and vibrant colors. The 4K resolution is a little overboard for a screen of this size of course, so besides bragging rights, it really doesn't help all that much. The materials are top notch with a unique look. Same size screen as my old Spectre, but much smaller body. Touch screen is responsive with small borders. Webcam isn't the best, but more than adequate. The bad: Because of the compact design, the keyboard is a little off center, which takes a little to get used to. But, having dedicated scroll buttons are nice. Thought that the track pad could be a little wider, but it performs well. The biggest drawback is the battery life, which is poor. You have to cut down the brightness and resolution of the screen to get anything decent. Which kind of negates the reason you have the awesome screen. Really only get a few hours at best, worse if you are taxing it a little bit. Certainly not for people that want or need all day portability. I use it primarily at home or when near power, so it's not much of a problem. Plus, it's USB C, so you don't need to buy any specialized power cords or anything.

Before I bought this laptop, I bought three other ones to test out (HP Envy, Elitebook, and Lenovo Yoga C740). All of them including this one get very hot when you first set it up. It's inevitable considering it's a small machine that's also 2 in 1 so it's doing a lot. However, after it's done setting up, it doesn't get as hot as it first did and at most it gets warm if you've used it for a couple hours streaming Netflix. The keyboard feels really nice, but it's offset to the left and the tract pad isn't centered/aligned with the keyboard; kind of bothersome, but not a big deal. The hinges were loose, but it should be easily fixed by bringing it back to Best Buy or looking up a tutorial. The fan as of now doesn't turn on too much; with this type of laptop, fan noise could be an issue but if you try any other 2 in 1, you'll get the same issue with the fan. Battery life lasts me 4-5 hours, same with all the other laptops (Watching Youtube, doing homework); it's not bad and anyway wherever I bring this laptop I'm confident there's a outlet next to me-- it's not like I need an all day long battery life like my phone. This is a pricey laptop considering how much storage it has. You could probably find a similar laptop for cheaper with more storage. I ultimately chose this one because of the feel and aesthetics. Keyboard typing feels nice and the screen especially is good. The colors are vibrant and the glossy display doesn't feel rubbery or have friction. The screen is most important to me because that's the thing you're looking at the most and using the most since it's a 2 in 1. Things like how hot it gets and the cooling system were all the same with other 2 in 1 laptops. Honestly, although I like the HP spectre, I would have gotten the HP Elitebook if it weren't for the grainy screen.

The screen on this laptop is amazing!! Unfortunately, 4K viewing is a battery drainer, which is the only downside to this laptop. Otherwise it’s extremely light, switching to tablet mode is a breeze and it’s very fast. Very nice looking laptop.

Great Features for the Price -- Very Fast: The Pros: SSD storage is fast and adequate (can always add via microSD); Between the touch pad and touch screen barely used the mouse (suggest a low profile Bluetooth mouse). 13.3" 4K screen is remarkable. Tested with YouTube 4K content and very impressive. The OLED screen is very visible in bright light. Watched movies on a window seat plane and did not need to lower the shade. SD movies up-convert to 4K very well. Battery time very good even viewing movies; note the entire system is very thin, so battery cannot be too large, so very good for the size. Did some minor video processing and was responsive, not meant for large scale video editing. Ports are just right. Bought a port hub and tested RJ45 Ethernet, many USB 3 simultaneous and no issues - fast xfer. Hub was power thru and worked just fine. Hub had HDMI port and tested both mirror and extended display to a 1080 display and the laptop stated in 4K with the extended screen in FHD and no problems. No game tests. Cons: As noted by others the Webcam could have been better (used Zoom for test). It has a wider field of view then necessary. It has less sensitive sensor than lesser Pavilion models. Set the screen to web mode vs default and got a better picture. Used some front lighting and Webcam was much better on noise; does not take much front (face) lighting to increase webcam quality. (most folks face the webcam with too much back-lighting). With just some proper lighting would be usable for most remote Zoom uses, even if appearing and cable tv network. Reset: Some folks mentioned 'reset' issue. Have had it happen twice, both times exercising with playback video and the fan probably on full and not on a flat hard surface. It does need to be able to cool down thus need to keep the bottom vents from being blocked. Backlight keyboard very adequate. Touch type thus only used for off used keys in dim lighting. Pen: Have not used. Time will tell, but have given a full exercise of my usual applications including 4 3hr segments on an airplane, so far consider this a great value and feature set. Have had on for 10-12hrs at least 10 days since purchase.

Let me start off by saying yes I'm a student and trying to find a laptop during this pandemic has been extremely hard. However, with all that looking I found the laptop to have. I must say technology has come a long way and this computer has not disappointed. Yes the price is a little hefty, but rest assured you are getting a lightweight yet durable device. The material just feels premium build and the selling point to this is the 4K graphics. Omg this laptop delivers on the screen. I think its better than my 4k TV I own. The colors are so rich and the deep blacks well they are true deep black. The speed is decent. Getting me from one task to the other. I would say this computer is definitely for the college student right now who wants a computer that can keep up with all the work and Zoom meetings. Oh also this laptops is a 2 in 1 yes its also a tablet, comes with HP pen included. =)

I have been using this laptop For almost 3 weeks now. It’s fast but draining battery which is understandable cause of 4K display. So far good. Fan noise is kinda Loud and can be annoying sometimes. One more thing I experienced that it gets hot while watching YouTube video or Netflix. When I bought this laptop it was on sale for 899.99 I’m rating 5stars cause of its 4K display and price.

The Spectre is a great laptop for the majority of people. The quad core 10th gen i5 is more than sufficient for daily tasks and handles zoom calls, multiple Edge tabs and office concurrently without an issue. Having a 4K OLED screen on a laptop is game-changing; You really have to see it in person! A couple important reminders: 1. OLED Burn in is REAL and you should be aware of it, but not worried. As long as you aren't leaving static images onscreen for several hours at high brightness you won't have an issue. 2. OLED screens work most efficiently when displaying dark shades, so I would recommend switching Windows and other apps to dark mode for the best battery life.

Overall, I've had a great experience using this laptop so far and only have two complaints about it. As a college student, this laptop works wonderfully as you only really need an i5 core (or AMD5 core equivalent) with 8 gb of ram to smoothly operate most software. Some of my favorite features thus far have been the backlit keyboard, screen resolution, touchscreen feature, face recognition. camera kill switch, and laptop to tablet mode conversion (though you do have to tweak the settings to optimize this). As for the pen that came with it, it feels rather niche as the pen that comes with it feels a bit bulky and is not rechargeable (as it uses AAAA batteries). Its nice that I can use it to take notes in OneNote and PowerPoint but its aggravating to know that the upgrade to the better version of this pen (which is rechargeable and offers more features) only costs an additional $20 when ordering through the HP store. Really wish they would let you choose which pen you want because an extra $20 doesn't make much of a difference when your're more than $900 into a purchase, plus this is the premium laptop from HP so it should come with the premium pen. As for the other complaint, it does get slightly hot when using this laptop for extended periods of time. No it doesn't get scolding hot, the bottom just heats up slightly. You only notice this when placing this laptop on your literal lap. You will not fell this if you're either using this on a desk or changing it to tablet mode. P.S. in laptop mode make sure that the region with the hinges faces up. The reason for this is that this is the location where air exits the fan. It helps reduce overheating

A 5 star computer held back by Windows scaling

It's light, the keyboard is great, and while the touchpad is a bit small, it's a wonderful touchpad to use. I appreciate there being a USB 3 port as well. I've been using it for mainly office work stuff and travel, so I have no issues with the processor or RAM. The screen is absolutely glorious! My only complaint, and this is a small one that all 4K Windows laptops suffer from, and that's Windows scaling. For whatever reason Windows has a terrible time scaling a lot of programs to where they're blurry or incredibly tiny. The fact that this is a 13.3" 4K display means you'll most likely be at 300% scaling, which is fine, but a lot of Windows programs don't recognize the scaling and make things super super tiny. Connect it to a monitor and the output is fine, but this is something I've struggled with on multiple laptops. Other than that, this is a fantastic laptop for the $850 sale price. Would highly recommend. Came with a case and pen.

This laptop is overall a great purchase. It has features that usually come with a more expensive price tag. Pros: -touchscreen & comes with a pen (good for drawing, notes, etc.) -light and portable -aesthetic design -fast at basic tasks (browsing the internet, schoolwork, etc.) -can be switched to tablet mode Cons: -battery life is a little short (~5-7 hours) -gets hot with basic use -keyboard is centered a little strangely (there are a row of keys to the right of where a keyboard usually ends)

Needed a computer to meet normal basic uses of web browsing, media watching, creating google/word documents and I wanted a 4k Screen. This computer was purchased for $849 Deal of The Day and checks all boxes. Almost impossible to find a 4k computer that isn't well over $1000 and spec out driving up there price. If you need a computer for basic use and want a 4k OLED Screen..... This is it. Note nothing is upgradable except for the hard drive.
