Was looking for a feather weight laptop for trips involving carrying thru airports & a fast computer. It fits the bill. Fast enough for business & serious work.

I bought this laptop when it was on sale for $999, and it has exceeded every one of my expectations. It has the latest i7-8550 microprocessor with 16G of ram and 512G of SSD. It has windows hello IR, two USB-C and one USB-A (legacy) ports. I am the only one in my company who doesn't need dongles with a latest generation computer. Couldn't be happier at this price.Only negatives is the battery life that falls well short of the stated 12 hours because the screen is not that bright and to be pleasant you need to set it to 100%. It gives me a solid 6-8 hours of use though so it's more than acceptable.

I had to return the first laptop due to bad audio, and the pen on the second was defective, but once everything was taken care of I'm left with a solid system. The hinges are a little weak, but hopefully they will last the lifetime of the laptop. Besides that I don't have a ton of complaints. I love using this laptop to take notes in class. The pen works really well and the system weighs the same as my old 11 inch MacBook.

I bought this computer for speed. It has 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports!
But, it is slow downloading, does not complete updating software, and the customer service rep at HP seemed unable to do anything but (1) remotely fix my computer himself or (2) deny HP had anything to do with the slow computer since it was the software that was slow and the software is Microsoft's problem.
In other words, he was of little service, could not troubleshoot the problem with me, and just blamed someone else.
This computer is slower than my old Dell that was configured similarly, but without Thunderbolt 3.
I have yet to enjoy the FAST Thunderbolt transfer speeds promised with this computer.
I am beginning to think the Spectre that haunts this computer is speed.

I bought this product with much more expectation just because of it's excellent look and good configuration, but the disadvantage is that this laptop heated up in just 2 mins which is not expected from such a high end laptop. I was scared that it will damage the processing unit and then, the laptop will be completely dead. So, I returned this laptop in 15 days. No doubt this laptop is very slim and easy to carry, but not worth for money you spend.

FYI been using the HP now over a month. I use a Microsoft Surface for work which previously gave us Lenovo Thinkpads and I use an Iphone as my personal cell. Very happy with the performance, power, and portability of the laptop (the case is a nice plus as well)! Purchased at best buy because of their Geeksquad protection and top notch customer service. I decided on this because of the tremendous value after comparing with the Surface and Macbook Air (each have their own upsides).

This laptop is amazing. It boots in like 3 secs. The battery life is decent about 8 hrs. The only thing I don't like is the track pad since it's hard to right click but other than that it is great!

This is a worthy update on the HP spectre family. I had the original x360 core i7 model and this has better performance due to the 4 core cpu. The size is smaller while keeping the same screen size thanks to smaller bezels. It makes for a better tablet experience. I just wish it had an integrated HDMI port as the previous models. I will recommend to get a good portable adapter for Thunderbolt 3 to external video if you plan to connect to external monitors.

This unit has excellent specs especially for the price but it does feel overly hot and the screen resolution is unimpressive. The adapter is HUGE especially when compared to the ones that come with Microsoft Surface. Additionally, the pen requires batteries. The unit does not come with a user's manual, even a PDF version, so it took me a while to figure out how to use the adapter and power cord.

I got this laptop so I could work from home for my office. So far, it’s been great! The boot-up speed is quick, and I love that it has the pen so I can mark notes on my employees’ drafts. No issues whatsoever so far with performance. The only possible negative I’ve seen is that, as some of the other reviews state, the unit does get rather hot, and the fan kicks on a lot. Not a big deal to me, but it may bother some others.

I've had only Macbooks for the last 10 years so when my Mac died last month I was lost on what to replace it with. The Spectre was highly recommended by a friend and after watching comparison videos between the spectre and the latest macbook pro model I took the leap. The picture quality is beautiful! I love having the ability to flip the screen around for when I feel like stretching my digital drawing muscles, set it up like a tent to watch movies without holding the computer awkward avoiding glares, or keep it in normal laptop postion for completing work reports and checking emails. Its super thin- even more so than my notebooks- making it easy to fit in my purse and take with me to work. The stylus works pretty well (I'm used to inaccurate stylus's that do not line up properly with where you touch the screen making marking more challenging.) My only concern is how the hinges will hold up in time- if they will become looser and have difficulty staying up in the standard laptop position. Time will tell. So far I'm very happy with my purchase!

I bought this HP laptop to replace my older Mac, particularly because of the touchscreen and convertible feature. With the SSD and lots of memory, it starts up very quickly, I appreciate being able to use it as a tablet, although I worry a little about damaging the keyboard on the bottom and usually rest it on the included laptop sleeve. Thus far, I am very pleased and hope it continues to work well and reliably.
