A very high end, elite class, excellent design and outstanding perfomance, light weight and a portable notebook. I am using 256 GB SSD i7 version and it works flawlessly. Gives a battery time of roughly 7-8 hours of normal use and almost 10 hours of light use. I played NFS The Run (25 GB) game on it and it lagged little bit on maximum graphics settings (playable), but when i switched to 1600*900, it worked smoothly. Though it heats up, only when using heavy applications like AutoCAD, high end games etc, but other times its cool. Its very fast, responsive and light weight. Although I would not recommend it for people who are looking for a tablet which can sometimes be used as a laptop(go for Surface Pro 3 then), but definitely for those people who are looking for a laptop who sometimes want to use it as a tablet, because it not that comfortable in tablet mode if you support it with one arm(definitely cannot keep it in one hand like a tablet) (1.4 kg), though I use it to read documents in these modes primarily but only placing it on my lap (straight/inclined) or a desk (in tent mode). Overall, it is among the best laptops present today.

I bought a lenovo yoga 2 pro before, it died on the 2nd day. So I went back to my old brand, HP. It's been just 7 days with this laptop, and so far so good. Let me begin with the con's. Cons: 1. Fan noise: Fan noise is somewhat annoying from time to time. It is not noticeable for small load applications (word processing, small codes in matlab, youtube/netflix streaming), but if CPU utilization goes above 50% for longer time period, then you would notice it. 2. Heating: I often work keeping the laptop on my lap, and if the bottom is blocked, it gets hot easily. So I needed to adjust how I hold the laptop or place on the lap. Not an issue on tablet mode. 3. Reflection: The screen is reflective. It can be overcome using high brightness, but that drains the battery too fast. 4. Fingerprint magnet: It's a touch screen, but the screen grabs the fingerprints easily! Now the positives: Pros: 1. Great Battery life: With the screen brightness half of the max, streaming, downloading, word processing would take at least 7-8 hours to drain it out ( or may be more). But if the brightness is increased, it drains much faster. 2. Light weight : (may be heavier than some other laptops, but pretty light overall) 3. Can handle everything I need it to do ( remote desktop, running MATLAB, mathematica, CAD, continuous 1080p video streaming) 4. No issue with internet connectivity 5. Excellent keyboard, I love typing on this keyboard. trackpad/clickpad needs more work though. 6. Very few unnecessary software 7. Great display, touch screen works well 8. Built quality is excellent 9. Speakers are good 10. last, but not the least, great looking laptop! Verdict: I think it's a great laptop for value. I got used to the cons pretty fast. I hope with time the durability will also be proved.

I picked this up for my wife to allow her to have something she could use on the go. Her criteria for a laptop is that it should be light and run for a long time without needing to be plugged in. Her ideal machine would have an optical drive as well, but that's just not as necessary in today's world and you can easily get an external drive for when they're needed. That being said, I looked around and was trying to decide between two very good machines - the Dell XPS 13 and the HP Spectre x360. I landed on the Spectre for a couple of reasons. 1. Price - it's slightly less expensive than the Dell for similar specs 2. Power/Longevity - the specs for this machine should mean for a machine that will work well for several years 3. Touchscreen - included in this model 4. Convertibility - yes, it's more likely to be used as a laptop, but the hinges have been re-done over prior models and my wife liked the idea of being able to use it in some sort of easel mode to show things to people. So far, it's performed admirably. Standby life has been exceptional - still having a significant charge even after several days without power. Battery life has been pretty good. I haven't really tested under more normal usage yet - my main time out had some pretty heavy network usage as I was downloading updates, presenting, and modifying files. Even then we still had a good amount of battery left when all was done and the session went longer than expected. Biggest thing to get used to - the touchpad. It works well, especially if you get the latest drivers. However, it's pretty big and I did find that I was moving the mouse cursor around unintentionally once or twice. Still, it works well even if it does take some getting used to for someone used to having buttons for the mouse functions. Overall, this machine has a good combination of weight, ports, storage, RAM, and power that will serve us well. I'm pleased with the purchase. I debated briefly about getting the next model up with the larger storage and screen density, but ultimately don't think those will be necessary. I probably could have gone down to an i5 processor, but think the i7 will serve well for the times that we'll use it.

    Best Ultrabook On The Market

Before buying this I extensively compared the Yoga 2, Yoga 3 and the HP Spectre. I decided to buy the Yoga 3 and after 1 day I returned it because the Core M processor was like stepping back to a computer from 5 years ago. I then bought this, Here's what I love: - I7 processor is blazing fast - Aluminum body is durable and sexy - Screen is very bright and can be seen even outside - Keyboard feels great - Mousepad works great and I never bump it accidentally - Great to have 3 usb ports - No bloatware so runs great out-of-the-box - Battery life is about 6 hours even during heavy use - Converts between modes very smoothly My only complaints are: - Speakers get crackly sounding if you turn on the DTS audio effects - Something in the computer is making a very faint hissing sound (although I've ready I can probably stop this by adjusting some CPU settings in the BIOS) and you ultimately can't hear it unless you are very close and there is no other noise in the room. - Bottom left corner if I grab this part and pinch to lift the unit then sometimes I can feel/hear the 2 parts of the chassis moving and rubbing. This doesn't seem to be a real problem but is just a bit concerning for the long term. Overall I despite any complaints I still think it is the best choice for a convertible ultrabook on the market right now. HP has done a great job with this. In fact I bought the I5 with 8gb ram version of this for my wife and she is LOVING it.

I've had this laptop for over a month now and can't say enough good things about it. It's very portable, very light, very fast boot time, boots in a few seconds. The screen is great, very sharp and bright. The performance is great, very fast for any task but the highlight has to be the battery life. I can use this laptop for several days before I need to recharge it Much better than most PCS and rivaling Mac books. The track pad is large and very responsive. The keyboard is very good as well. I've used it as tablet several time and found the experience to be very good. All in all, I think it's a great laptop for anyone.

I've had my Spectre X360 for a month now. Love the look, not so much the weight although it's only a little over 3 lbs. I had to think hard whether to get a Surface Pro 3 instead since the portability and processor speed are my main issues but the sales rep recommended I go with this because of the better keyboard (that I don't have to buy separately, btw), the multiple ports and this being a solid state drive making it more durable. It also has an HDMI port and media card reader which the Surface doesn't have (only a micro) but I didn't notice till I needed to plug in that it doesn't have an ethernet port! And compared to my last laptop, an Asus, the speakers on this thing is wonderful and the power on and off is super-fast taking only maybe 2 seconds! I got the hint that it's a great buy coz it was sold out in 2 stores, I had to reserve and pick it up from another. Or maybe coz it just got released? I use it mainly for real estate contracts and web programs and the pop-ups just annoy the hell out of me since day 1 despite the promotional 1 year free anti-virus that went with it. I uninstalled a lot of programs and changed settings in my internet options on both Google Chrome and IE, blocked pop-ups, cleared cookies. It improved a lot but there's still unwanted ads in the sites I frequently go to. The biggest con to me is the touchpad. Yes, it's wider and bigger than the average touchpad but it's useless to me. It's like a bipolar touchpad - sometimes it works fine, sometimes there's no difference with the left and right click (it still left clicks even when I'm on the right side) and I have to left click 10 times before it actually does anything. And it drags things unintentionally. I'm really satisfied when using it as a tablet, the touchscreen works great! The battery life is awesome and love that it has a backlit keyboard - helps a lot on the airplane. Also love that it came with a protective sleeve/pouch but I noticed that it didn't keep the dust out so I still got one from Amazon and an anti-glare screen protector just coz we always use the touch screen and I can see dirty fingerprints and always end up wiping it. Wish there were hard cases available for it already like the Macbook Air! it's so thin, I'm always scared of dropping it. Overall, it's a great buy, just wish it had a better touchpad.

I am in the technology business so I have tried and used several touch screen laptops over the last few years including the Yoga Pro 2 and 3, the new Yoga Pro 11, and the Surface Pro 3. All of them have some shortcomings and some strengths but this one has more pluses than any of those. The good: very good battery life for this type of power (better than anything I have used including the Surface Pro 3), nice fit and finish, great screen that is bright, decent WiFi strength, good keyboard, easy to convert to tablet, can be used as a real laptop (my biggest knock on the Surface Pro 3 is no stable keyboard) The not so good: still heavy (really like the weight of the Surface Pro 3 which is ideal), Windows button on the side (not sure what they were thinking here), Widescreen and not 4x3 (I got spoiled with the Surface Pro 3 screen sizing as wide screen laptop/tablets need to go). All that said, I have finally settled on this as my primary laptop and am very pleased.

So far, I can't complain. I was looking for a higher-performance computer that is light enough but with a big enough screen, classy and modern, skinny, quiet (I had a horribly noisy Sony VAIO before!), and with a high-res screen but not QHD (I heard those have problems with some software and color tint). I am a web and graphics designer and use Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere...) all the time. I also stream Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube videos almost every day, while I work (I have an external monitor hooked up to it). So far, it's been a month, and I'm completely pleased with it. I'm also very impressed with HP. I had given up on HP due to noisy, overheating computers back in the day, and I didn't particularly love their designs in the last few years. However, the HP Spectre X360 is perfect! It caught my eye while laptop-shopping and I am not disappointed at all. Hopefully things will stay this way!

This is a great computer for a college student. It is light weight. A giant plus for any student who has to carry around books for class. It has a powerful and efficient processor resulting in long battery life. I am getting 9-10 hours a charge. It runs all of the Microsoft Office suit effectively and efficiently. The keys have great travel for such a small computer. It still feels like you are typing on a normal keyboard. It is an all around great computer perfect for college students and professionals who do not get company computers.

The day had come; my partner had enough suffering under an incredibly old laptop. Big, heavy, 2 core cpu, battery was dead... it was time for something new. We hadn't purchased a new computer in a couple of years and so I wasn't sure what was out there. After testing out numerous models between Microsoft, Lenovo and HP we went with the HP Spectre 360. Mostly, it was the right combination of processor (5th gen i7), RAM, SSD, weight and battery life that blew away the competition. So far my partner has really enjoyed using her new computer for multiple tasks, from on the go work at her non-profit to pulling up recipes in the kitchen for baking. The HP Spectre has done every job she's given it easily and most important, QUICKLY! Extra bonus, I haven't had to do a single fix on it so far. My experience has been that most systems out of the box need a little tweaking or even a fresh OS install before working right. Not this one! Came out of the box ready to work hard! We're very happy to have bought it!

I drag a laptop around all day, going around from room to room seeing patients. I really like the Spectre 360. The keyboard and track pad have a good feel and do not show fingerprints - it is easy to keep the keyboard clean. The screen is large, crisp and bright. This is important with the klunky EMR (electronic medical record) software that we use with its busy screens and small radio buttons. The screen is also very stable; it doesn't wobble around when you carry the laptop open. I initially had a Surface Pro 3, but took it back within the Best Buy 2 week "grace period". It was a great tablet, but the screen is smaller and I didn't like the floppy keyboard with the small track pad. I often use speech recognition software and the Core i7 does seem somewhat faster than the last generation i5, though this may be due to the 8 gig RAM rather than the 4 GIG in my previous laptop. Also, the built in mic is good enough that I seldom use my Bluetooth mic anymore. The build quality is great. Lots of ports - 3 USB 3 - all of them are charging ports and 2 video ports. I also use the HP Active pen more than I thought I would. It is a little finicky and batteries don't seem to last as long as you would think they should. (I have seen some reviews that report the Dell active pen works better and is less expensive) Now for the few irritations: 1) The On/Off key for the keyboard backlighting shines like a check engine light when the keyboard backlighting is OFF. It would be only slightly more annoying if it flashed. (remember the flashing time on the old VCRs - its like that kind of annoying) 2) Power supply. I've just purchased this sleek, as good as it gets laptop (convertible), now let me plug it in to my 1970s style, industrial, 3 pronged, stiff corded power supply. I have a 3hp table saw with a more flexible cord. HP: If I promise not to plug it in out in the rain, can you engineer a smaller power supply with more flexible cordage? And while we are at it, can we PC users, swallow our pride and just admit that Apple (gag), does have a better way with those magnetic power supply connectors? 3) The exterior surface finish of the aluminum is beautiful and hides fingerprints very well, but it is incredibly slippery. When it is closed, you cannot pinch it between your thumb and fingers and hold it securely. I don't care what kind of burley man grip you have, a 3 year old knock it out of your hand if you hold it that way. My previous laptop was a somewhat larger and heavier Lenovo 13 Yoga, but its surface finish made it much easier to hold on to, one handed. 4) Shiny glass touch screen - no worse than any other, but if you use it a lot, by lunch time, it will look like you have been trying to lick up spilled Spaghetti-Os.

I have had the HP Spectre for 1 week now and I love it! I did a lot of research before buying this and was leaning towards either the Dell XPS13 or a Yoga 3, but the HP Spectre kept coming up with great specs and I loved the look online. I decided to take a chance and purchase it before they even had it in the stores so I could check out the look and feel. As I said I LOVE this laptop. It is sleek, looks good and most important it works like a champ. I've only had it one week, but so far not one glitch or issue. It is fast! The battery life is fantastic. The display is bright and beautiful. I believe some people wish it had a less reflective matte look, but so far I haven't had any issues on that front. My biggest concern in purchasing this without having had the chance to touch and use was the keyboard and touchpad. I love both. The touchpad is very large and I thought that would be trouble for me but I have had zero issues. I spend a lot of time typing and the keyboard is fantastic - feels good and responds perfectly. (I had an Asus previously and the touchpad drove me crazy - this one is perfect.) I saw that a couple of people had complained about streaming of videos. I checked it out this morning and it was perfect. No issues nor glitches. I do not use this as a tablet at all, so I can't comment on that, but I can say the hinges are great and look beautiful. I am so happy I took a chance on this sight unseen and untested. Best laptop I have ever used/owned. I highly recommend this ultrabook!!

Bought this to replace a 1.5 year old Sony Vaio that was a disappointment from the date it was purchased. The Vaio had ongoing glitches between the touch screen and the touch pad, and battery was terrible. The X360 is the FIRST computer we've ever used that actually makes Windows 8.1 work perfectly. PERFECTLY. All this time I'd been blaming Microsoft, and I now know it was hardware woes that made 8.1 a mess. The HP X360 battery lasts two days without having to charge it. The touch pad works flawlessly going back and forth into the touch screen. The display is bright and a joy to use. The fit and finish of the X360 is remarkable. In every way, the HP X360 outdoes the MacBook Air (my husband's computer, which he LOVED, until the tried out my new HP). HP and Microsoft pulled it all together on the X360. Excellent laptop!!

Overall, this is a solid laptop that I'd recommend to anyone looking for a laptop for school or business. After almost a month of usage; Here are my PROS/CONS Pro: - Battery Life: i was averaging almost 10 hours of light/moderate usage, which included multiple IE tabs, Spotify radio, Word and sometimes youtube videos. - Keyboard/trackpad: both are solid and ergonomically comfortable. The trackpad is huge and easy to use. - The build quality: after taking this around the city, throwing it in my bag and flipping the hinge through different modes, this laptop can take it all. CONS: - The tablet mode: This is a nice feature, but the weight and size of the screen makes this an awkward and uncomfortable tablet solution. The touchscreen works well and is responsive, but holding it in one hand or reading in tablet mode is something I'd recommend against.

I was originally deciding between a Macbook Air and a Surface Pro 3 based on online research. After test driving both. I decided that I do enough writing that I wanted a keyboard that was more sturdy feeling than a Surface Pro, although the tablet features were attractive. When I visited Best Buy, I found a great team member who listened to my reservations and preferences and introduced me to the HP Spectre. I was hooked right away. It is nice and light, and quickly converts to a tablet when needed. I am very pleased with my purchase, and I am grateful to have had assistance in selecting this laptop.

This thing is absolutely gorgeous. It's definitely the nicest HP product I've ever seen. The only annoying thing is the size of the track pad, but I'm sure I would've gotten used to it if I had kept it longer. I returned it because it just wasnt a large enough screen for me. It is crazy fast, and has awesome battery life. It ran Skyrim on low settings at a pretty high FPS (not sure how fast, but buttery smooth). And it ran Revit pretty well. I don't think tablet mode will get much use for people, as it's a bit heavy for that, but it might be nice if you are sitting and it's in your lap. Anyway, I'd recommend this to anyone!

I waited for the perfect laptop to catch my attention for about 3 months. I took a drive to see it, but did not purchase it right away, just to be sure, then I took a closer look. The specs are remarkable for a small package, the built quality is impressive for the price, and the performace benchmarks caught my attention specifically the battery life. at about 10 to 12 hours with moderate use. 7 to 9 on semi rigorous use. It looks great, it feels great, it works great, and the compliments are not lacking. It is a turning heads laptop that people are confused about because they quickly compare it to an Apple, which I firmly and respectfully respond with a resounding, NO WAY. Apple has never been for me, but I did recognize their superior quality product which is why I took notice on this laptop. I highly recommend it for those who want power on the go. As an engineer this is a very useful product because it lets me travel comfortably with it and has ample horse power to be productive. Screen looks great, very sharp and clear, touch screen is a perk which I was not looking for, and it is small enough to carry around easily with no issues. By far, and to me that says a lot, the best laptop I have ever owned, I never though that I would ever find a replacement for my old laptop, but I did and it is good. 5 stars with no hesitation.

Have had my new HP for about a month and really am enjoying. It is light weight and looks amazing. Screen tough to see in bright light but vibrant colors. Touch screen is awesome and folding to a pad is super sweet. Camera is not one of its better features-pretty grainy pics and awkward to use for other than selfies. Only used headphones once for music and wasn't terribly impressed. I'll have to revisit with better set maybe. As far as productivity, I am very, very pleased. I have used it every day for several hours and I love it. Giving four stars because of camera quality.

I've had this laptop for 3 weeks now and I love it! The battery lasts for 8 hours with heavy use and 10 hours with light use. The screen is clear and I haven't had any problems with glare. The SSD is amazing! The computer fires up from complete shut down in 7 seconds and 3 seconds from sleep. The keys are comfortable and have great travel. I rarely make any accidental mistakes. Cons: The trackpad is rather large. It's nothing that I can't deal with it, but it just seems like it can get in the way at times. And the fan is a little noisy when it's at high speed. It doesn't run very long though so it's never been annoying. Other than that, this is a great looking, high powered machine that I would definitely recommend to others.
