Beautiful laptop with lots of features

This is a beautiful classy looking laptop. The Spectre X360 packs lots nice features into a small thin computer. I bought this computer based on several positive online reviews The pros: it is pretty to look at, so if you want to impress everyone, this will do it. The video is supper clear, which is one of the features this laptop excels at. The WIFI is good. The neat thing is the backlight keyboard for easy use at night. HP use all the latest technology unlike some other brands which seem to be a little behind. The cons: This laptop tends to run hot under heavy workloads. The good thing is HP uses a power management which cause the fans to run as soon as it gets warms. Then they shutoff once cool. When not plugged in the battery life seems to drain faster if your using it under heavy loads. Speaking of battery one issue I have run into is Windows 10 saying the battery is plugged in but not charging. The fix is to unplug the power supply and do a hard reboot, then plug in. Since my computer is still new, not sure if this is related to the computer or more a windows problem. As for price value, it is a little more than some other brands, but based on the features you can see why. The weight of this Spectre 15.6 model is a little heavy if you want to carry it from one room to another compared to the 13 inch model. Another issue is because this is a touch screen the laptop tends to get full of finger prints easy. A nice soft cloth help keep it clean. The bottom line, the reason I choose this is because it is not ugly looking and has lots of good basic features. If your looking for a laptop that can do simple stuff like surfing the internet, watching videos, or running Office related software, then this is a good choice. However, if your more into editing videos or playing lots of games, then this might not be the best. The reason I chose the 15.6 model over the similar 13 inch Spectre is because this computer uses a better graphics card and the latest OLED screen. Plus the screen is bigger to look at since my vision is not perfect. Also this laptop uses separate parts unlike the 13 inch model where everything is integrated in one main board. This means over time if something goes bad, I only need to have that part fixed instead of the whole computer like in the case of the 13 inch spectre. I hope this review helps. My additional recommendations are to purchase a wireless mouse which will make life more easy than trying to use the track pad, Also buy a cheap laptop stand to help get the laptop off a flat desk for better cooling.

This computer is the best on the market. I absolutely love it. The sound and screen are extremely clear and better than any other laptop I have had. It is definitely worth the investment! I have had no issues with this computer and very responsive and easy to use with the latest technology. Love the updated design and feel of it. Very rare that you find a laptop this stylish and responsive. Is should be right for the price? Although the pricing is high, it is well worth it and I look forward to using it to be successful at my business.

the casing is sleek and sexy, the monitor a great size(I love the touch screen and ability to fold it over and write in cursive!), the keyboard a breeze to use and comfortable, performance so far is excellent, the Geek Squad at Best Buy is to be commended for their quick, professional, and supportive help. I was ready to go is 24 hrs.

For the ones who do not need a fully blown gaming laptop, this is the obvious choice. The Spectre is slick, light and the performance is up to par with the expectations. The amoled screen deserves every $ you can spend on it. The machine is super silent, doe snot heat up much, and the battery life is great for such computer.

I've purchased previous Spectre models. The display is significantly brighter/crisper than the previous models. The USB C ports are good, but another legacy USB port would have been nice. I've owned both MacBook Pros and the HP Spectre. I have a hard time substantiating the extra cost of the Mac. This is a really nice, high end laptop with a 1TB SSD drive and 16GB of RAM. The touch screen is a nice feature, although I don't use it that often. My only surprise was the size of the battery charger.. bigger than my previous Spectre.. wonder why?

It's awesome if you can afford it. No it's not a $400 laptop but it does everything I want it to and more. I'm not a geek, but I will be soon! It has a back-lit keyboard, which everyone seems to be looking for these days. Beautiful screen resolution! It's not plastic, so it has a little bit of weight to it. The touch screen is great, at first I forgot it was there. And you can flip it around into tablet mode. I haven't tried the pen yet, but it does come with one. And Its fast!!! I had a Dell laptop that paid its dues. So this machine is just awesome. Thank you to Zack, David and Johnathan, for educating me and helping me make this difficult decision, you guys also were AWESOME!

Got this as a near term replacement for similar premium 2011 ASUS computer. The good: fast, versatile, plenty of memory and storage with outstanding display, numeric keypad for quantitative use, not a lot of bloatware. Got a great deal, so keep alert for rare HP sales. The not so great: needs external optical drive, will eventually need a docking station due to minimal outputs, occasionally TOO responsive for cut and paste and other input operations. Weight is just okay.

Really love this laptop. I was torn between a MacBook Pro and this one. I still love the battery life on the MacBook, but this one isn't too bad. It lasts much longer than the 3-4 hours I'd gotten used to with old Windows laptops. The keyboard is nice and easy to type on. Trackpad is a little off. I can't really figure out what it is I don't like about it - might be too sensitive or the overall feel just isn't what I'm used to, not really sure. The screen is beautiful - colors are rich, images are sharp, video in 4k is crisp, and daytime lighting is great. I don't like the lighting in the evening b/c it has a sepia undertone, but I know it's better for my eyes. I also don't like that this one is a touch screen model. The screen is too beautiful for me to want to touch and maybe scratch up. Yes, I know it's gorilla glass, but that doesn't make me any less nervous considering the price I paid for this laptop. Only 1 USB slot plus a couple of Thunderbolt slots was a negative for me, but may be useful for others. Shows fingerprints too well on the keyboard and body, especially if you just put lotion on. Fingerprint reader doesn't always read your finger, or doesn't read it fast enough. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries for it to work, but always an option to use pin or password. These are all minor issues, but might be important for someone considering this laptop. I also looked at Dell's XP but the design on this HP sold me.

This is the best laptop I have ever had however it is not without its problems, even after updating all drivers. Pros: Very fast, thin, well built and hinges seem solid, digital pen, great camera, camera shut off switch is a nice touch, backlit keyboard, light weight, beautiful, plenty of storage and memory, display is amazing, touch pad very functional and responsive, seems to run quite cool, nice sound, good battery life, With its SSD hard drive startup and shut down makes it feel like a tablet and I could go on and on. Cons: It is a little light on the number of available ports. I run a Blue Tooth Microsoft mouse and it tends to stall occasionally for very only short periods of time thankfully. Movie layback is a little jerky at times however it is somewhat better after updates were run. I have not tried it using the HDMI port yet though. Certain dialog boxes are extremely small and hard to read but for the most part the display issues for me are not a big problem. In hindsight I would have preferred to have seen this laptop come with 1080p vs 4K. I think the battery life would be even more amazing without 4K and when you think about it 4K is really a mute point on a 15 inch screen anyway. Bottom Line: Even with its high price point and the fact that i'm not a gamer, for my use I am still happy with it and would recommend it to others. really the only reason I can't give it 5 stars is the 4K display.

Love the speed of the computer , the touch screen makes it easy to use when needed, plays heavy graphic games in vr the only con is not buying a better disc drive to play 4k movies and you will want to buy a usb c charger as it charges it faster and easier to plug and play. ++

At the time I purchased this laptop, it was the only one in the price class with a 1TB SSD. The 4k display is excellent. Touch screen was not a priority for me, but it works well and I find I use it along with a Bluetooth HP mouse. Audio is pretty good, I'd like more bass response, but realize the limits of the packaging. The installed software and apps is well controlled, not much gets in your way - not like the bloatware on many units. The fingerprint reader works well and provides quick, secure login. Only one USB-A 3.0 port, but the USB-C port has enough power capacity to run an external optical drive without a separate power source. keyboard backlighting is white. The photos and description do not say the color is a warm matte gray with bright polished copper edges, hinges and accents - very attractive.

The laptop is gorgeous, but honestly, it’s physical feature were the best thing about the laptop. The speaker quality was terrible. The fans were too loud for a class setting after just having one google chrome tab open. There was an instance in class were the fans were to loud so I put the laptop to sleep to let the fan shut off, and once the laptop went to sleep the fan kept running. The video quality was... weird. It looked like videos would slightly change speed like slow down and then speed up to catch up on the timing. It was the strangest thing. Video did not look smooth despite it playing at 1080p60. The Hp stylus is really nice. Touch works great. Light weight. Came with a leather laptop case which had a fishy smell to it right out of the box. I assumed it was the leather. I let it air out and put a dryer sheet in it. A week later, and it still smelled like fish.

I was looking for a new computer that was faster than the one I had, and this model gives me everything I was looking for. My son worked for Microsoft and gave me certain criteria to look for in a machine, and this was the only one in the store that met those specs. I've been using it for a month now, and it's been a great experience.

My old Dell tower was in need of replacement with the inability to accept the latest Windows upgrade and this filled the bill very nicely. While it would easily hook up to my large monitor and keyboard I opted to use the HP’s screen and keypad augmented by my Logitech wireless mouse. The touchpad works well but I am used to a mouse and it may take a while to change. The HP comes with a stylus so I returned the added one the sales rep suggested I buy. Return was quick and easy. The HP screen is extremely good. I ditched my stand alone monitor. The startup is immediate. A 1 Terabyte SSD is probably good for a while (but who can ever tell?). The 3.0 USB ports seem to work well. I added an expansion gadget to allow more things to be attached and yet facilitate ease of their detachment when traveling. Using a stylus is intuitive and seems very useful although I have not done real work with it yet. The computer is hinged and can be used as a tablet. It weighs 4.7 pounds so might be too heavy for that for a long time. I have used it for a few weeks and am very satisfied so far.

Likes: Backlit keys. Computer appearance, stunning. 1TSSD. Verdict not in on pen and 360 tablet mode. Also wish one was able to set DPI or screen resolution based on application used. The screen is a little bendy. First time with a really thin laptop though.

Love this computer. I am running multiple programs which require a great deal of memory. This computer runs them seamlessly. I went from a 17.5" to this 15" and the transition has been less of a challenge than I thought. I like the flexibility to use it as a tablet when reading books or articles. Screen size is perfect for this. The touch screen is a nice addition too. Screen resolution is remarkable. Runs multiple apps/windows at the same time without much issue. Would highly recommend.
