Excellent 15 Inch Ultrabook

Excellent 15 inch ultrabook - I have the 15 inch model with 512 GB NVME SSD and 16 GB DDR4 RAM and 8th gen i7 and it is extremely fast. 4k screen is excellent. Battery life has exceeded my expectations. 8+ hours on regular work tasks, not sure how it would hold up for tasks that use the NVIDIA graphics. Comfortable keyboard. It is a little heavier than the 15 inch Macbook Pro and Dell xps 15 but you more than make up for it in price and raw power. Would recommend!

Great Computer

I purchased this computer about 30 days ago. Upon opening the box I had one problem after turning the computer on. Once Windows 10 updated, the computer went to a back screen and would not continue to boot up. I called Microsoft and after about 20 minutes...the computer was up and running fine. (According to Microsoft, the problem was a conflict between HP pre-loaded software and MS software). I would also like to note that this was the only issue that I have had to date. Other reviews have mentioned that there are font issues (i.e. size of font) be unreadable. This is not a setting issue/screen resolution issue or ect. There are some programs that are not able to properly operate with 4k screens. I personally have seen very few of those to date.
I have not ordered a stylus as of yet, but I have used one with this system and it works extremely well. The USB-C connection seems somewhat flimsy; however, I believe it will still hold up with normal wear and tear. The battery life seems to be sufficient at this point but I have not yet push it to its limit.
I also purchased the Samsung SSD 500g external drive and a Logitech mouse (see those reviews). This computer replaced a 17' Dell and so far, I am extremely satisfied. I will add an update to this review in six months with more thorough statistics...

The computer has a very nice design, runs fast, and very reliable. The only problems I have about the computer is that at times the fan gets very loud and since most things aren't 4k, its display can look blurry.

Just Right For Me

I got back into photography 2 years ago and realized that I would need a laptop to use for Lightroom CC/Photoshop CC when traveling. My desktop was aging, so the new computer needed to be powerful enough to replace the desktop. My Photoshop use is not very sophisticated, mainly focus stacking and panorama stitching.
I looked at Macbook Pro, Dell XPS 15 Touch, Lenovo and a few others. For a while I talked myself into the Dell because the specs were amazing, but in the end settled on the Spectre 15 with the 8th Gen Intel processor. It was a lot less money, but had lesser specs, but it was appropriate for my use cases. I don't play video games or do engineering, so I didn't really need the $2,000 plus type machine.
The NVMe hard disk leads to amazingly fast boot times and IO operations. The new processor does well on multi-threaded apps and somewhat less so on single threaded apps, but the app I use with the greatest processing needs is multi-threaded (Photoshop) so this system works very well for me.

The Best PC Laptop on the Market

Being an Apple guy, I needed a Windows machine for my work from home job. Let me save you the research (studied the reviews on PCMAG and PCWORLD as well as the forums), as I’m self-diagnosed OCD when it comes to researching things to death. This is the best, hands-down Windows laptop and may I dare to say best laptop period (yes, including Apple). Lightning quick start ups and shut downs, multi-tasking is effortless and is very quiet. The touch screen and phenomenal 4K clarity is the icing on the cake. Paired with the new 42.5” LG monitor (Amazon) as an extended screen, wireless Logitech mouse and keyboard, this is a powerhouse setup. I keep the spectre flipped up (keyside down) and reversed into tablet mode and use it as a second screen and the “brains” to my main 4K LG monitor. Perfection!

Great product with a beautiful design and really crisp screen.
Pros: Battery life, backlit keyboard, great touch pad, touch screen, good ergonomics, good port selection, looks very professional, AMAZING speaker, great for productivity and entertainment. It has a nice webcam too. I love the color scheme!
Cons: Top of the laptop gets warm. Fan seems to turn on too often and is audible.

I was looking for a 15" slim, performance oriented computer and this machine delivers. The i7 (8th Gen Processor) runs quickly, paired with an abundance of RAM @16GB of memory, 2GB dedicated GeForce graphics card, and newer M.2 hard drive. Crystal Disk Marks shows a disk read of 1600Mbps and a write of 515Mbps which is phenomenally fast compared to the traditional SSD. This computer was put together well, the 4K display is bright and colorful, which is an added bonus. It's going on a week since I've received it and it's been great for work and play. It does not come with a stylus as one photo suggests (HP Active Stylus). It's a fast machine with great battery life, I highly recommend it.

8th Generation Intel i7 Spectre 360

Did a lot of research prior to making my mind to go for the 15.6 inch 4k Spectre 360 with 8th Gen i7-8550U processor. My other options that I was interested in was the Dell XPS 15 (9560) or the Lenovo 920 (coming out soon). The Dell XPS is a powerhouse machine with i7-7700HQ processor & GTX 1050 GPU but the 15 inch does not come with 2in1 option...also I have not heard about when dell will refresh with model 9570,,maybe with i7-8700HQ whenever it launched in 2018..The Lenovo was interesting as well as it will have the i7-8650U & that awesome hinge for the 2in1 but i backed off because of the 14 inch display...I was set to get a 15.6 inch 2in1. So now to this Hp Spectre...my favorites on this are
First the craftsmanship of this machine..its beautiful & very steady...very luxurious. I tried it on display at Best Buy & fell in love with the low key keyboard & the trackpad...both of which are way better than Dell & Lenovo.
Secondly the 4k screen of this HP is awesome..Dell is right there is well with thin bezels but I do not like the camera at the bottom of the dell. The spectre's touchscreen & ability with windows ink is awesome..the touchscreen works as a charm on all 3 modes. Top notch display I would say. The laptop is very thin overall the screen & design overall compliments each other.
Thirdly the 8th generation intel processor upgrade here is awesome...4 cores, its fast & the SSD is super duper quick on shut down & start up.. I do not do a lot of graphics or video editing but I do use a lot of tabs on internet browsing & multi task with excel & word at the same time...In the 5-6 days I have used this with multitasking, this laptop handles it smoothly..did not experience any lags or throttling.
Other Notes - Online on BB it states to come with a stylus but as I read on the first couple of reviews that the stylus was missing, I had BB rep open the box in BB & yes the stylus was missing. They offered me the Wacom Bamboo Ink pen which is actually better than the HP active pen so I was lucky to get it free. I would recommend you do the same if buying in the store. The stylus synced via bluetooth with no issues...works like a charm. Battery life is ok...I keep the machine at 4k setting so it gives me less than the stated battery life in the specifications.
I have not had any cons yet but will update so if I do face anything. Overall this Spectre 360 15 with 8th gen i7 processor is a beauty with great processing power so my needs. I would definitely recommend to anyone that has ~same needs. This is my 2nd HP laptop so I am glad I stayed with HP.

This PC is honestly top-notch. I was looking for a pc that would handel my day to day work, which is not much more than writing papers, doing homework, and writing music. And something that could handle games, even if the settings had to be lowered.
This is that! It runs fast, start up is mere seconds long, the 4k screen is gorgeous, and it will handle games even at high levels. For example I have been playing GTA V on here with the settings up and it runs just fine!
This is also set up to accept a pen, and that has been great! If you are a music writer, they have an app in the app store where you can use the pen to write music on the screen just as you would a piece of paper, and it will turn into notation.
Speakers are nice, I notice some "scratching" at high volume but nothing too bad. and I use my headphones more often anyway. It is very nice to have the speakers facing up and towards you (in laptop mode)
Keyboard feels great. Also - it dips down into the device so I was able to find a nice silicone keyboard cover for protection.

Beautiful design, great performance. It isn't as heavy as it seems and the display is gorgeous. The speakers are pretty good for a laptop as well and the battery lasts the whole day on light web browsing. It has been 3 hrs and it is just 83% on the "better performance" setting.

I haven't had a laptop in a long time but I'm an avid techy. I usually stay up to date on everything new coming out and also I've built a few desktops in the last two years. This thing is fast, and I mean fast! The face recognition with Windows hello logs me in about 3 seconds. The touchscreen is amazing and honestly I couldn't be more happy with the purchase. Asthetics are great and battery is above average I would say for a 4k display. Definitely recommend

Got it on black Friday deal. $400 less. For the price, this is the best premium 15.6 inch 4K/Uhd laptop in the market now (as of 2017)
Pros
-Excellent 4k screen
-8th gen quad core i7 processor
-Premium keyboard and trackpad
-512gb HDD, 16gb ram, dedicated graphics card is like fully loaded.
-face unlock is very convenient.
-enough port on 2017. Regular USB, USB-C, HDMI
Cons
-Reflection on the screen during black or dark pictures.
-Trackpad juggle little bit. Not too bad. Little bit annoying.
-Pen not included.
-Keyboard layout not familiar. Instead of Home, End, etc., on left side, Fn+Up, Down etc for PageUp, PageDown, Home & End would be nice.
-Feel the heat when using it for long time.
I would still recommend this to anyone...

This is a beautiful and very well made laptop. Mine has been running like a champ so far, not a single problem. Fantastic screen, albeit some minor light bleed on the lower right, but that's typical for IPS displays. Keyboard and touchpad are top notch, plenty of ports and a full size SD slot, which makes it very nice for photography. And because it has an Nvidia MX150 built in, it's surprisingly good for games. Generally you'll be able to run most older games at 1080p 60fps at high or better settings, and in some cases even at full 4K (i.e. Burnout Paradise). Newer games can vary, but think generally 900p - 1080p at mid to high settings at 30 - 60 FPS (i.e. Tekken 7 @ 1080p 60fps mid-high settings).

Was leaning towards a Mac product previously, but after researching the capabilities of the HP it really wasn’t even close especially if you are a price sensitive. I bought for my wife to do her video editing for her business and it hasn’t disappointed. It’s extremely fast, with no lag for loading or transitioning from pictures or videos. And the 4K screen is just awesome. Better than the Mac Retina display.

Freshman Starter Laptop

Freshman female in college, starting and completing nearly most of my first semester without a laptop. I wanted something that would suit all or most of my wants while still fulfilling my primary needs for a laptop. First things first, what I wanted: laptop with a touchscreen, 4K display, and at least 1 TB of space. I also wanted the NVIDIA Geforce chip. What I got: 4k display, 512 gb of space (about 460 with bloatware and whatnot), and the chip.
I was considering a Macbook Pro (13/latest model), Razer Blade Stealth (13/latest model). I also wanted a laptop that would be able to handle some light gaming. All in all, the laptop is great, aesthetically pleasing and a pleasure to use overall.

I bought it for 1200 bucks in Thanksgiving. It was a good deal in 4k & SSD 15" inch laptop with this configuration comparing other brands.I have been using the laptop for more than a month time.
Pros - Awesome 4K display, strong build, nice keypad and touch-pad. Good Battery life.Smooth Touchscreen. Good Speaker sound.Fast Charging.
Cons - Fan Noise (main reason for reducing one star),Touch pen was not included in my box.Slightly weights more than expected

I buy this computer for my graduate study, and it perform good until now. The battery can use a long time so I never need to recharge at school, and the computer is very fast. The only thing I am not very satisfied is the noise, which like electric sound and sometimes come out then disappear suddenly. The sound is very obvious when I use my computer with my friend. Her Mac is always silent, and my spectre is somehow noisy(we do the same thing on computer).

First of all I have a bias towards copper tones and so I loved the color and styling for this laptop. This model with the new 8th Gen processor and solid specs (RAM and SSD) was what I needed and the thanksgiving deal was the clincher. I don't game much on laptops and so the GPU on this was good for my needs and if needed an external GPU can be added..wow. 4k display is excellent and touch works well. I have had this for about 2 weeks, build quality is top notch and battery life (avg. 8 hours) exceeds any windows laptop that I have had in the past. Satisfied.

This PC works great , i have had Lenovo Yoga2 for my personal use use, but touch screen in Lenovo was not the best.
This one works great on regular Performance, Screen clarity and also touch response is better than Lenovo. there was some lag i experienced once i tried to strees test this when i started multple programs like a racing game , big excel file(s) , multiple Chorme windows and some more applications which takes more CPUs - but that was still workable.
One Downside is Weight( little bit on heavier side- but guess you would expect that with 15.6" )
