Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the Victus 15.6" laptop's strong performance and good graphics capabilities for its price point. Many appreciate the option to upgrade the RAM, but some users mention that the battery life could be improved and that the screen brightness may not be sufficient in all situations. Additional feedback points to the build quality as decent and the weight as manageable. While some find the fan noise noticeable, others report that the laptop does not overheat excessively.

The laptop has few little scratch on the top of it. I ordered it online and they delivered me late. The laptop has so good configuration but its work so slow. The laptop looks like someone used it before. And it has functional problem too.

This laptop is amazing! Just recently purchased and upgraded the ram to 32gb. It has been super fast. It does not get too hot and the fan isn’t absurdly loud. My only gripe is the battery life. I suggest keeping it plugged in when gaming. So far I have used this laptop for xbox remote play and gamepass which worked pretty well. I will try out some of my games on steam and give an updated review.

Sure, here is a shorter and one-paragraph review of the HP Victus 15: The HP Victus 15 is a budget gaming laptop that offers great value for the price. It's powered by an Intel Core i5-13420H processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card, which can handle most modern games at medium to high settings. The 15.6-inch display has a 1920 x 1080 resolution and a 144hz refresh rate, which is great for gaming. The Victus 15 is also well-made and feels sturdy, and it's fairly portable, weighing in at just over 5 pounds. Overall, the HP Victus 15 is a great option for gamers who are looking for a powerful and affordable laptop. Here are some of the pros and cons of the HP Victus 15: **Pros:** * Affordable * Powerful performance * Good display * Well-made build quality * Portable **Cons:** * Speakers are not the best * Battery life is average If you're looking for a budget gaming laptop that offers great value for the price, the HP Victus 15 is a great option. It's powerful, portable, and well-made.

Smooth performance: The combination of the Intel Core i5-13420H processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card delivers a responsive and fluid experience for most tasks and games. A very impressive laptop if you can catch this laptop on it's sale $600 price. I'm quite impressed with it at that price point. It is quite snappy and quick for any basic internet, document creation, work task you may have. It can also game at mid settings quite well with really decent FPS (60+). Even more intensive games play reasonably well at mid settings. I would say its only real negatives are that its battery life could be better and the screen, while nice, is a bit on the dim side for bright room or outdoor usage. In any case, overall, this is a good all around do anything you want (work, internet, game) laptop at a very nice price on sale. At $600, it punches way above it's sale price.

I purchased this laptop looking for something to game on and use for school. Overall, the experience was good. I would rather buy it in store because when you buy for pick up online, it sometimes takes too long. That's what happened with me so we ended up going into the store, cancelling the order and buying it again in store. The laptop comes with a charger and a manual/set up guide in the box. The color is nice, although it's prone to fingerprints if you have greasy hands, the speakers are clear, and overall it feels solid other than the screen being slightly wobbly, but that isn't an issue unless you keep moving it around multiple times in one use. The 8 gb of ram and 512 gb ssd can be easily upgraded (mine came with DDR4 3200mhz and a WD PC SN810 PCIe gen 4 ssd, so it's plenty fast enough to multitask and download large files. The GPU temp stays around 65-70 degrees Celsius when playing games on high-max settings. The keyboard is pretty decent also, and has a nice backlight. One thing I noticed is that the screen has more of a gap where it connects to the chassis on the left side than the right side, but after watching Youtube videos on it, it seems like most of these laptops come like that. I would recommend opening it from the center of the screen and not the corners. The colors are a bit washed out when you first get it, but that's pretty easy to fix in the Intel Graphics Control panel. Battery lasts probably three hours with all the settings set to max performance and quality. I got it on sale so I would say I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase, and I would probably not buy it at full price (899.99) because there are better options at that price point, so just keep checking every day for clearance deals or sales.

Let me begin with a few details that are probably relevant to most people looking at this laptop. First, build quality is plastic so, nothing special there. Second it truly only has 4 performance cores, so it isn't really a multitasking beast either. Third, the lack of a Mux switch means you have to use software solutions to limit the GPU draw because it drains battery life faster if you don't use the lower powered integrate GPU for daily tasks. If Battery life is your primary goal, get a MacBook as this is just over 3 hours when the charge is full and that's not great. Fourth, Crucial has in fact tested their 64 Gig RAM upgrade kit with this machine and it does work perfectly. Now, on to use cases... Mobile Gaming? This will be better than a Steam Deck that's for sure and really supplements a more powerful desktop fairly well. Virtualization of different Operating Systems? This is extremely slow and just will not live up to your epectations if this is your intended use case. Daily Office related activities, this would be fantastic! Is this good for a college student? If they do not have access to power in their classrooms, then this is a poor choice for a full time student. Image Editing and Creative things on the go, this will only work even modestly, if you don't care about the color accuracy, as the display is a gaming display and really not built for that. Likes Using this for MS Office, Gaming, and Scripting, the laptop works extremely well and it is a decent spec for those tasks, as long as you don't ask it to do too much at one time. Even more, it runs very cool, so longevity, and reliability should be great if you're looking for a device to last for years. Dislikes Honestly, the Battery life is the worst aspect of this and the 2nd is the build of the casing, as I hear it popping and shifting when I pick it up. Another dislike is that this is a unit that was built just for Best Buy and that means they cut corners by going with an i5, when other stores don't even sell this with anything less than an i7. To me, this has been one of Best Buys biggest issues and I'm very disappointed with that, as I believe this thing would run Virtualization 10x better if it had the i7. Overall Would I buy this again for my use case? Probably not, but the use of Virtual Machines is big to me and I wasn't expecting this to be as poorly optimized for that as it is. Would I buy this for a teenage looking for a decent priced gaming laptop? Sure, I would, if you can get it on sale for $600, but if you can't then I would not pay the $900 retail pricing they want for this. This is a budget build and as such it does very well with that consideration in mind, but it is also at a price point where you might want to look at other items as well.

This is my personal experience and opinion-- it does not constitute professional advice or knowledge. In general, this is a good laptop if you can purchase it on sale around the $550 mark. For everyday use, such as browsing the web, watching YouTube videos, checking your e-mail, and working within Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. it gets the job done without an issue. Also, if you are coming from an older generation gaming laptop or graphics card series, you will feel the upgrade that this laptop can provide; and I would say it is a worthy upgrade if you can get it around the $550 price mentioned above. On the other hand, if you can manage to bump up to the next laptop price tier you can probably opt for a more solid machine in all aspects. Also, if you don’t need a laptop, you might be better off purchasing a desktop for the normal $899 price of this laptop, and you would be able to achieve a much higher level of performance to price ratio. Personally, I enjoyed the overall design of the laptop, how silently it ran, and the overall layout of the cooling system, including fan placement. In addition, the sound system was very good for a laptop, as it was crips and sharp, but it lacked on the lows and bass. The screen itself was the major downfall for me. Yes, it was a bit flimsy, but that wasn’t my issue. The weird dimness I experienced when using it during normal light conditions was a huge pitfall, and I just couldn’t get over not being able to see the screen half the time at full brightness in a lit room. If you plan to use this laptop only in a low-light or dark room, you shouldn’t have this issue, only in rooms with medium to high-light did I experience this weird visual dimness. Also, games did not run as I was hoping they would. The 3050 - 6GB VRAM and 8GB RAM showed early signs of bottleneck with most demanding applications, such as Forza Horizon 5 (Laptop/Game Selected Preset – Medium Settings). Lastly, it would be a great challenge to edit videos on the laptop, because of the screen dimness, color ranges seemingly off, and 8 GB RAM. Honestly, if the screen wasn’t as dim as it was, I would have probably kept the laptop as I got a good deal on it, as it was on sale for $599. I just couldn’t justify keeping it if it wasn’t able to run certain games I enjoy on the go with decent quality and with the screen quality being so low, I couldn’t justify using it only for office tasks. This laptop would be a perfect entry level machine if it just had a bit more RAM at 16 GB and at least 8 GB VRAM. Bottom line, if you need a laptop, don’t mind the screen dimness, and you can purchase this laptop on sale for around the $550 mark it is worth it, specifically as an entry level gaming or general day to day work laptop.

I have the AMD variant of this laptop and I can safely say both the AMD and Nvidia variants are very good for entry level gaming. First off, I will note that the AMD RX6500M variant doesn't have 4K encoding, but if you don't plan to Livestream, then you can ignore that. The Nvidia model does have video encoding so all Nvidia users are aye okay. Second, the specs. The 144Hz refresh rate is really good and reduces screen tearing and lag in most games. Whether you get the RX6500M model or the RTX 3050 model, you are sure to get really playable frame rates, sometimes better in many games. The SSD and RAM are fully upgradable, however if you get the AMD variant you may be limited to just 32GB of max DDR4 RAM. The SSD is upgradable, but the 15 inch model has no second SSD slot. Third, the ports. The ports come with two USB A ports on both sides, the power port (obviously), an Ethernet port, an HDMI 2.1 port and a USB Type-C port (but no thunderbolt or Type-C charging). Lastly, the battery life is awesome. The AMD model comes with a 52.5Whr battery and the Nvidia model comes with a 70Whr battery. Nvidia users do be mindful that Nvidia GPUs are a bit more power consuming.

This laptop is a great purchase for gaming. Its nvidia graphics card has been able to handle most of what I have thrown at it. My game of choice is Skyrim vr. Even adding a few extra graphically intense mods it still runs smooth with my quest 2. As long as it’s plugged in during vr game play your experience is super smooth. I was able to add another ddr4 16gb ram card very easily. It was also a decent price for a gaming laptop. The only downside is that I needed to get a deck cooling pad for it. From what others have told me that is typical for gaming laptops so you don’t cook them.
