I just purchased this heating pad yesterday. I didn’t expect it would be effective for my misaligned lumbar region with previous herniated discs. I love that I could put it on, leave it, and forget it. I like that it's wearable, and I can massage and heat my lumbar region to my comfort. I like that there are varieties of intensity that I need to soothe away my discomfort. Best Buy happened to have the Vernom 2 back on sale, and I feel it was worth every penny I spent for the long term. I prefer this heated massage vibration wrap to medication.

Great back Massager with heat.
Wish you could charge and use. Gets about 2.5 cycles before needing to recharge. Wish it covered a larger area. High heat can burn. Falling apart under one month, but still usable.

Take a Bite out of Back Pain with the Venom 2

The Hyperice Venom 2 back massager with heat is one high-tech unit with only two weak points, as a whole, it is the choice to get in 2022.
To start, the product itself was very well packaged with a dedicated charger, instructions and a few other pieces of paperwork. Upon opening the box, I found the Venom 2 ready to be used, not a full charge but ready out of the box. I did not try it on until I charged it to 100% and setup the unit with the Hyperice Android App.
Here is issue number one, the app setup, tons of time getting the Bluetooth to work. I spent an hour trying everything and even contacted customer support about it via chat and they left me hanging, after 20 plus minutes, I had to go and did not get one response after the chat representative said he'll be right back.
I was able to finally get it to connect on my Android device by restarting the phone, turning off Bluetooth, open the Hyperice app, turn on Airplane Mode, then turn it off and turn on Bluetooth. All of a sudden the device connected to the phone and I could use it. The reason this is a huge issue and deducts a half star is the point they know of the issue and have for a while with older products, Hyperice needs to fix this and fix their Customer Device too.
Once the Venom 2 was connected, I was ready to try it on and let'er rip. The Venom 2 has 3 heat levels and 3 vibration cycles. The 3 heat levels are delightful and powerful along with being super fast to heat up. I turned on the heat and set it to low and within 10 seconds I felt the heat on my back, to me that is insanely fast. The low is perfect and mid is great as well, not going to lie, the high is really hot, almost too excessive for myself and my wife. When I cycled through the massage, all 3 patterns are amazing, but the constant on is the best, soothing every muscle it vibrates for an enjoyable time for sure after work. The 2nd issue enters here though, the strength is not adjustable on the device or app, it is strong and for my wife that weighs nothing, she said it's too much after a while. Overall, all 3 modes of massage are great, they just need an update to allow the intensity to be adjusted or make your own pattern of massage.
Charging is fast and lasts a long time, I had over 2 hours of heat and massage and still had time left. The only thing is you have to turn the massage on after 10 minutes when it times out. Not a huge issue, this helps for sure when you fall asleep with it on, it is needed.
Overall, great design, just needs the app issues taken care of and some more adjustability in the app or on the device. If it has it, someone show me where or they need better instructions and an easier app to find the adjustments. Also, they should have included a zip carry case that holds the charger, the Venom 2 cost enough a small bag that is less than $2 to be made in China in bulk would have been a nice addition to the package with a cool Hyperice logo on it.
Great job Hyperice, just fine tune it and you have a #1 product on the market. The app is a decent app as a whole, just needs the Bluetooth fixed as every time I have to utilize the Airplane Mode to get the Venom 2 to connect.
Pros:
Strap adjustable to fit many body sizes and types
Massage feels great
Heats up insanely fast
Comfortable
Fast charging
App shows many stats
Packaged very well
Cons:
Bluetooth connection
App needs work
Massage needs power level adjustment
High heat may be too high
No carry bag
I highly recommend this product, just needs polishing and it would be your only choice.

I originally picked up the Hyperice Venom for my husband who has hardware in his lower back and has previously fractured his upper vertebrae. He found this wrap to be a game changer with his chronic upper and lower back pain. However with the flexibility of wear, I found a few other fantastic uses outside of back pain.
In the box is the Venom back wrap, 18v charging cable with NA and and various global plug adaptors, and a startup guide. I did install the Hyperice app as well, but not necessary for functionality, more on this later. To charge, the wrap has a small controls box on the front for the power plug, charge until the power indicator light turns green, and then disconnect from the charging cable to use. The wrap is neoprene with a velcro closure to get a snug, form fitting, placement. There is an outer, thinner, neoprene band that you can then adjust and it presses the heating pad into your back for further fit. With the flexibility of the velcro, the wrap should fit most users, laid flat the total length of the wrap is just under 48".
To operate, there are three levels of heat and three vibration settings, as controlled by physical buttons on top of the control pad. Once the temperature level is selected, the wrap reaches desired heat within a minute, its amazingly fast in comparison to a traditional heating pad. The first level of heat is comfortable directly on skin or through a light layer of clothing. The second level is perfect for use over clothing used inside where the ambient temperature is 70 deg F. The third level is a bit much for me to use indoors, however it's absolutely fantastic for early morning kids sports. With the ambient temperature of 40 deg F, I stayed warm while using the heat only function under a jacket. For vibration, there is a soft consistent vibration, a pulse vibration and then a pattern combination of the two. The vibration is fairly low level, same for the pulse, this is not a percussion massager level of intensity, more of a gentle movement.
As far as the app goes, it needs a bit of work, but since the app isn't required to use the wrap, I still think this is a five star product. For the app, select the Venom 2 back wrap, and then the wrap will pair to your phone via Bluetooth. I'm using an Android phone, and it typically connects to the wrap the first time, but sometimes it takes multiple attempts. Once connected the app will take over any existing settings if the wrap is already in use. From the app you can set the temperature, vibration style, and a run timer, meaning the only additional functionality the app provides is a duration time. There are some good stretches listed by target muscle group in the app, but many of the stretches are targeted for use with other Hyperice devices.
Lastly, while this is marketed as a back pain wrap, I think this is a game changer for a few other uses. I experienced a ton of relief for menstrual cramps. The wrap can be positioned to provide a consistent pressure, while staying in place during movement or while sitting at work. I have also used it as a warmer while working outside or while attending kids sports events. The wrap is thin enough that I can wear a jacket over it without it being obvious I have the wrap on. The wrap is also large enough to do glutes or small enough to do hamstrings / quads. Overall I think this is a fantastic wrap that is light weight enough to stay in place during activity. I highly recommend to anyone as a staple rest and recovery piece of equipment.

If You Suffer Back Pain - You Need This

This is my first experience with a product from Hyperice, but I feel pretty confident it won't be my last. To be honest, I wasn't particularly familiar with them, so I did a little research. Their Mission is simple - to help everyone on Earth move better, live better and be better. Their suite of products are all designed to help relieve tension, unlock sore muscles and prime your body and mind to be at your best.
This is about the Hyperice Venon 2 for back. It's really a well made, wonderful to use with simple, but intelligent operation. It's Bluetooth enabled and generates heat and massage to your back. It comes very nicely packaged and the first thing you do is plug it in to charge, with the supplied 18v charger. Included in the box are plug configurations for most electrical outlets around the world. It took about 1.5 hours to charge it up and a charge will provide up to 2.5 hours of use. The next thing you do is download the Hyperice App from either the Android or Apple App Stores. Connecting to Bluetooth was not quite as intuitive as I expected, but once I figured out the App needed an update specifically for the Venon 2 device, the app goes about connecting to Bluetooth and it is not necessary to switch over to settings to select the device there. There is a little LED light on the Venon Control module attached to the belt to let you know you are connected. And once you select the Venon 2 in the myriad devices Venon offers with Bluetooth connectivity, you can then create Routines and control the two primary buttons for heat and massage. There are three buttons on the control module. Heat - Power - Massage. You don't have to use the app as you can simply wrap the belt around your waist and choose up to three levels of heat and three levels of massage, from constant to two different vibration levels.
Heat is almost instantaneous and the massage levels perfect, not overpowering. You can set a session up easily in the App, including duration of the session and level of heat and massage pattern. I've used this now for a couple days and as someone who routinely suffers from lower back pain, I'm truly pleased with the results. This isn't something I'll only use occasionally. I'll use this several time a week to help reduce discomfort from back pain.
You get a quick start guide, which leaves a little to be desired, such as they should have included more information on how to pair the belt with your cell phone. You also get a legaleze type book, but to be honest, the print is so small, I'd need a magnifying glass to read it. The only nit I have about the Venon 2 is there is no case to keep it, the charging plug or any of the supplied literature. But a quick visit to the Hyperice site and they actually offer a case for $29 you can purchase. This is not an inexpensive heat/massage belt and for the price of admission, the case should have been included. Otherwise, this is a wonderful heat belt/massage, with simple, yet excellent performance. If you have back pain, I can honestly tell you this will be a wonderful health tool in your arsenal to combat pain.

CAUTION THIS GET VERY HOT but FEELS GREAT!!

Venom Back 2 heat and massager this gets VERY HOT USE CAUTION. I have to say this is a very nice back heater its portable you are not stuck in one place having to have the cord attached to the heater to get relief of your pain. There is 3 setting on this for heat watch out for the very hottest one this will leave a red mark on you. Make sure it's not directly on your skin as not heating pad should be. I enjoy the the massage function on this i have not had another heating pad that does that. So the unit light up when turned on the power button is on the top and on each side of the power button there is one for the heat settings and the massage setting. Really simple they light up also when you power them on. But if you don't want to use the buttons on top just sync it up to the app on your phone and control it that way. You can set the timer for how long you want to run and set the temperature and massage function. If you just use this without the app it will run for 15min. The one problem i have found is the charge doesn't last that long when using it it will run for about a 45min to 1 hour. But for not having the cord stuck to you or you stuck in one place i guess that's not all that bad. You really shouldn't have it on you for that long but it feels so good. I do have a lower back pain from golfing and hiking and we did go on a 3 day hike. I wish i had it at the time put i got it when i got back in town and it helped so much. This is the one for your back but i was watching football over the weekend i i saw this on the sideline and they had it around a players leg so that is good to know i can use it for that to.
Overall great product will get a lot of use out of it.

Vibration feels great almost like a tens unit. The three heat setting range from barely feeling it to very hot, I prefer the middle setting. Wish it could do contrast therapy with cold as well but I don’t believe it’s possible to get the cold pucks on the back. Slightly expensive though.

Surprisingly Relaxing, Great Heat Pad w Vibrations

The Hyperice Venom 2 Back is a welcome surprise when it comes to pain relief. I was pleasantly surprised by it's appearance, functionality and effect on my back.
The quality of the material feels very nice, it appears to be neoprene with a very soft cloth like exterior. The design is well thought out, it has the appearance and design of a weightlifting belt but the additional back strap allows you to cinch the belt in order to get the most surface area contact with the heating pad. The cinch strap also allows you to tighten it enough to get the massage motors into sink into your back some so they can perform their massaging task.
The control module is very simple to use, powers on and cycles thru the heat setting and the vibration pattern by pressing each independent button. The heat settings are pretty impressive, the lowe4st setting gets your back hot and sweaty. The massage aspect of the belt is nice but it is more for relaxation more than therapeutic. The rolling motors do not dig deep enough to be considered a massage. It vibrates strongly but it does not go beyond that in my opinion.
The heating/massage pad is large enough to cover your lower back and it's wrap design does allow it to be used on your hamstring, arm or other wrap-able body part. It is comfortable even after extended wear, the heat will get you before any belt discomfort sets in. Overall a very relaxing easing soothing effect for those of us that stand for long periods of time or juts happen to have a sore lower back. Awesome product, your back will thank you.

Recently purchased this back to add to my growing arsenal of Hypervolt/Hyperice products. It works fantastic and exactly as advertised. It does heat up extremely fast, and it does get very hot. Beats heating pads hands down. I did discover that in order to enable the back to stay on longer than the pre-programmed 15 minute time limit, you have to download the app. Once you install the app you are able to override the shut-off and use it for 30 minutes without resetting. That being said, the battery life is nowhere near as long as advertised. I have never been able to get more than 60 minutes total time use out of a single charge. Other than the short battery life, this product is awesome.

While I like to visit my family to use their massage chair, I don't have the necessary room or really want to invest in something to that degree. That makes the HyperIce Back perfect for me as generally what I want is just to ease tension in my back more regularly than anything else.
First the warmth. This thing is QUICK to heat up. The sparse instructions leave something to be desired but the one big warning they give you is level 1 heat can be on the skin, but 2 and 3 requires clothing and they're not kidding. It takes about 5-15 seconds to heat up depending on level and level 3 is nearly uncomfortable but worthwhile if you're really feeling the need.
There's two adjustment straps, the first which can be stretched which closes across the front of the body and then a smaller strap that is situated within easy reach on your left side. It's sewn onto the belt on the right side, but pulling against the velcro on the left side allows you to stretch it further to help the belt define further against your back. I will say one of the main things I found myself doing was resting my back against a chair to really dig the vibrating modules into my back as otherwise even with the straps they felt much better when I could get them to dig in slightly. With the adjustment straps you're able to set it higher on your back (think chest area) and then as I'm guessing is the normal use which is lower on the back around the waist.
Three potential approaches with the vibration:
1. Constant with a slight pulse.
2. Strong pulse on and off.
3. Three short pulses followed by a long.
Overall it's a great piece of kit. The major updates I'd expect are:
1. Allow for control of strength of vibrations, although there's three different patterns, they're all fairly strong so the people that will enjoy this are probably reduced versus being able to reduce the strength so others in my family would use it.
2. Bluetooth app requires an update but the actual use of it is fairly rudimentary. Basically all it adds versus the controls on the Venom itself are the ability to set a timer for length of use. If I'm going to register an account and setup an app, I'd expect there to be more of a use case. This would be the perfect place to put the strength settings which would make setting up the app very valuable.

Amazing product! I don't use heating pads much because I find them inconvenient given the cord and position you must be in to have it fully against your back. This wraps snugly around the area and provides excellent heat- you can actually make it really hot, and has vibration. Battery does need to get charged frequently after use, but the product is amazing. Love Hyperice

Easy to use and works well. The heat features do actually produce heat so be careful if you are push it to max. Only minor thing is that I wish the battery life was a little longer but for the most part it gets a handful of hours continuous use in. It's so much better not being tethered to a cord so you can continue to walk around or perform things around the house.

I have previously purchased 4 back braces at different times to handle my spinal stenosis so I can get back to walking and lose weight. None of them worked until I saw this brace that just popped up during a search for a different item. I'd like to think that God sent it to me because it was exactly what I needed. I cannot believe how quickly it has worked. I was only able to walk about 10 minutes before I had to stop and sit down. Now I can walk without stopping and I am looking forward to my daily walks. If you have lower back pain from spinal stenosis you must get this back brace. The heat keeps the inflammation down and allows the blood to flow. It also has vibration that takes away the pain. It is a Godsend...literally.

I’m rating 5 stars, but i would deduct .5 stars for lack of USB-C charging. Just another charger to lug around or be without when I’m at work. The massage and heat have definitely made a steady improvement in my back pain which is nearly 100% better after 10 days of use. I use it in the car and when flying to prevent stiffness and pain and I dont think that I would have been able to travel or play a round of golf without it. I bought this instead of the other similar device because of expected reliability, hopefully it lasts a long time!

Amazing! Belt is adjustable with the Velcro so it fits both my husband and me. We both have lower back injuries and anytime our backs start to tighten up, we use this belt and it immediately releases the tension and helps us go about our day pain free. There are 3 heat and vibration settings so you can choose what you like best. It’s been a lifesaver for us!
