About the Venom Go The Hyperice Venom Go is a small wearable heat and vibration device. It’s intended to relieve muscle tension and help with pain. There are multiple settings for both heat and vibration and it attaches by use of reusable adhesive pads. What It Comes With Contents include the Venom Go pod, (3) Venom Go pads, a USB-A to USB-C charging cable, and instructions. The charging cord length was roughly 20”, so it’s kind of short. The instructions were sufficient to explain how to use the device. The App This product also utilizes an app via Bluetooth. The Hyperice App is a single app designed for multiple Hyperice products. Upon setup you are asked to make an account and give some information about yourself such as height, weight, and what types of activities you do regularly. The app will suggest “routines” for you to try based on that information. A “routine” is simply a group of settings (like heat setting, vibration level, and length of use). The app also has an option to link a couple other brands of products such as Garmin to the app. I did not set this up with mine, so I am not fully sure what the extent of the feature compatibility is here. One of the “activities” to choose is Office. I can appreciate this as I am in front of a computer for work several hours a day. Sitting in the same position all day is one reason why I am having to use this device. Using the Device To start you will need to charge the device. It took a couple of hours for my first charge. Next you will need to setup and connect to the app. During the app setup you will likely need to update the firmware. My firmware update only took a couple of minutes. Pick the area on your body that you would like to use the device and apply the pad. Keep the backing from the pad to reapply when finished. This will allow you to reuse the pad. Turn on the device and attach it to the pad contacts. You can then use the app to control the settings. Things to Know The (3) pads are reusable. The box says that they should last for around 20 uses. Discontinue when they do not stick to the skin. You can purchase more pads from Hyperice. I did a quick search, and right now it’s $29.00 for (3) pads. At that rate, and using each 20 times, that’s about 49 cents per use. There are 4 levels of heat. This can be controlled by the app or a button on the device. There are 4 settings for vibration; steady, intermittent, pattern, and off. This can also be controlled by the app or a button on the device. The battery life is stated at 40 minutes. I got a little less than that with my first use. My Impressions The app allows you to add Hyperice products to your account, but doesn’t register the device. You have to register on a separate website and it’s kind of clunky. This should be merged into the app. The app does not have a way to check the battery. This should be a standard feature. I like the fact that there’s no smell with this compared to using medicated patches for pain relief. For places that are hard to reach (like the majority of my back) I have to get someone to help put the pad on and take it off. This is also where having the controls through the phone come in handy. You don’t have to use the buttons on the device to change settings. The heat works fairly well. I did not feel like it was going to burn my skin. The vibration isn’t super strong. It’s more than your cell phone, but not as much as most back massagers. I was afraid that it wasn’t getting a deep muscle penetration while using it, but to my surprise it did seem to help relieve muscle tension. I could even notice relief on the next day. It reminds me of a TENS unit, but works in a different manner. A plus is that there’s no “shock” or “bite” effects with this. This could travel really easily. It would have been nice if it included a travel case. The pads are adhesive which makes me hesitant to use this on my legs. Pulling the pads off of my hairy legs does not sound pleasant. Hyperice should make a wrap accessory that goes around an arm or leg with a Velcro attachment. It would be reusable, and could attach to the device using the same contacts. Conclusion I want to give the Hyperice Venom Go a 3.5 star rating, but since that’s not an option I will bump it to 4 stars. It’s a pretty handy device, the setup was easy, and I did see results. However, there are several places where this can be improved. Overall, I do find this product to be helpful.

I have suffered with chronic leg pain for more than 20 years due to ACL reconstructions I had when I was younger. Ever since then I’ve done just about every type of therapy to try to relieve the continuous pain I feel on a daily basis. For several years now, one of the things that helps me the most is a device that uses TENS technology, but it’s not a traditional TENS device. So, when I read about the Hyperice Venom Go, I thought it would be a nice addition to my therapeutic options. The setup of the device is pretty easy, but the app I’m not a fan of the way the app is set up. I feel like the app is directed more towards training routines than operating the devices that are connected. It would be nice if the first screen you see is a simple choice between connected devices and information. I like that there are routines and reference materials built into the app, but it’s cluttered and when you just want to start using the device — well a quick start option would be a nice addition. As far as how the Venom Go actually operates, I found it to alleviate immediate pain I was feeling. One of my main tests was done when I was feeling extreme pain due to a weather change. I placed the Venom Go on my calf muscle and let it work for about 10 minutes. The heat was very nice on the muscle area and the vibration helped with muscle tension as well. Since I’m used to how a TENS unit operates, the vibration from the Venom seemed minor in comparison. It would be great if there were more adjustment options for that feature. It helped, but not enough. As far as the adhesive pad is concerned, it stuck well the first time, but after using the Venom Go for one session on my calf muscle, I wanted to move it to my quad area. The pad didn’t stick nearly as well. The instructions state that you should use on clean, dry skin. Since I was using the device on my legs and I do have hair on them, I’m wondering if that kept the pad from having a solid sticky connection to my skin. The device does come with 3 pads, but they should be able to be used more than once. I do love how the device connects to the pad — with magnets. It makes swapping pads very easy. While the Venom Go did a good job of alleviating pain for me, I have one big complaint — the battery life. The specs state the battery should last approximately 60 minutes. I’m used to my TENS unit lasting for more than 20 therapy hours, which means I can wear it throughout the day or even when I sleep. With only an hour of battery life, the Venom Go is really only going to be good for very temporary pain relief for me. I think I was only able to get a maximum of 40 minutes of therapy time from it before it died. I like the design of the Venom Go and the concept of combining heat with vibration, but there is room for improvement with this therapy device.

Nice, Portable Therapy On the Go

I like the Hyperice Venom Go. I've had it about a week and applied it about 15 times or so. It provides pretty good spot heat and massage therapy in a small, easy to carry package. Unlike most 'therapy' equipment, it packs up nicely and doesn't require a wall plug. It's not without some issues, but overall it's a pretty useful package. I am a cyclist, riding an average of almost 200 miles a week. My typical ride is anywhere from 35 to 65 miles, with the occasional ride up to 100 miles or so. At least once a month, I'll do a multi-day ride of between 200 and 300 miles. I also do some strength training with free weights. I've avoided most 'therapy' equipment because it doesn't pack well and takes up way too much room. The Venom Go is perfect for travel! I've used it on my shoulder, knee, elbow, and calf and been able to fit and stick the pad easily. Hyperice's estimate of at least 20 uses out of a pad is probably pretty accurate. I'm approaching 20 uses on my first pad and it's still sticking fine (more on this later). Pictures show the Venom Go on the side of my knee, calf, and thigh. So far, the longest I've had it operating is about 40min on one charge (at the default settings), but it did have charge left after that session. I installed the Hyperice app (Android) and the setup was simple and intuitive. Options are for three heat settings and three vibration settings. The default is 10 min, low heat, and constant vibration. This works fine for me. I tried the medium heat, it was too hot. The vibration defaults to steady, although you can select 'intermittent', 'pattern', or 'off'. After trying the different settings, I just returned to the default as the best option. The Venom Go heat therapy really helped, especially on my knee ache and calf twinging. I was surprised at how effective it was. One ride I had driven to, I put it on my calf and had it going on the drive back to help prevent a cramp. It wss delightful! The Go is not without some faults, and they do knock it down from perfect. It's a bit pricey. The replacement pads are about $10 each, about $.50 a use if you get 20 uses out of them. You do have to be pretty careful to clean and dry any sweat or lotion on the area you want to target. It doesn't appear that you can use an external power pack while the device is working, which is too bad. It will charge from one however. Also, the most significant annoyance to me is that a device designed for travel doesn't come with a travel case! There is a case available for an additional $30. Overall, I'm glad I got it, and find it a useful therapy tool. The small size and battery operation make it perfect for travel, or just for spot treatment while returning from your chosen exercise. Definitely recommend it for your consideration.

    more heat than massage

I had heard of Hyperice for massage products to jumped on this. In the box is the unit that produces heat and some massage, a charging cable and 3 pads.I did have to charge this and the app is mandatory to use. There are side buttons but only seem to work once the device is running. The pads are somewhat large and can cover about 5"x3". using the device, you need to take it off charging and there are a couple of steps and a pairing each time you use it. I like the massage and heat. Using the massage and low heat I can get about 2 uses till i have to recharge (10 minutes each use). The pads stick well at first, but my edges are starting not to stick. Wash what ever area you are going to put this on, may make the pads last longer. The controls are pretty simple; pick the heat level and massage if needed. Start low on heat. The app is inclusive of all Hyperice products so the suggestions I kept getting were for devices I did not have. This is pretty small so you can take it with you. There is no carrying case to put it in at the gym or anything. With the short battery life for me (about 20 minutes) you may spend a lot of time charging it. The pads are somewhat small and my be better suited for the back/shoulders and not large legs. I have some real complaints about the app it is slow to load. has to search for my single device each time I use it. I really dislike when a company suggests a routine for a product I have not bought no battery level indicator. The massage is super weak, I think its as much to let you know when your 10 minutes is up as anything. I really do not have anything to compare this to, and that is why I gave it 4 stars and not 3.

The Hyperice venom go is the portable massager that you can take anywhere. This small little device is rechargeable and comes with three reusable rubber pads. The pads use adhesive that sticks to the body and the massager sticks to the pads with magnets. The device itself is super small that fits in the palm of your hands. It's a very cool device to use and you manage it through the Hyperice app or by using the control buttons. Setting it with the app was relatively easy as it connects via bluetooth. There are 3 vibration modes. The first is continuous, the second intermittent and the third a combination of the two. There's also 3 levels of heat, soft, medium and strong. The heating option can be used with vibration or by itself. You can program it for up to a maximum of 30 continuous minutes. You can also pause it and resume at any time. The device will automatically pause when you take it off to move it to another area of the body. After you have placed it in a different location you just press resume to continue or end to finish the routine. . The high heat level is really strong, for a moment I had to lower it to level 2 because it was burning me. Of course I imagine that depends on each person's tolerance to heat but it does relieve the muscle. I put it on my leg which I was having pain for a few days and it calmed me down. I felt relieved to have it on. I used it for a continuous half hour and the battery didn't run out. Battery capacity is advertised for 1 hour. After using it, you put the protective sticker back on it and then reuse it several times. Each pad brings its own sticke and it can be reused for up to 20 times. With the Hyperice app you can create routines. After finishing the routine for the time that was programmed, the device turns itself off and the app will display that you have completed that routine. It will give you the option to start a new one or if you want or complete to exit. The app will also display the battery level. It does not display a percentage but instead the image of the battery and as it discharges. Overall this device is light and small, easy to use, super practical and simple but functional. You can take it with you wherever you go. It relieves the pain and discomfort you have, and it feels good. It can be placed anywhere on the body and it adheres very well due to its strong adhesive. In the box you get the massager, 3 pads and charger.

The Hyperice Venom go is portable heat and massage device from Hyperice. The controller is a small rechargeable device that connects to the massager/heating pads magnetically. The unit comes with The device is small, it can be carried easily in your backpack, gym bag or suitcase. 3 reusable adhesive pads are included. Use is simple, first charge the control unit with the USB . Place the adhesive pad where ever you need treatment, attach the charged controller and start the treatment on by pressing the power button on the control unit. There are controls for heat level and 3 different massage patterns, constant, intermittent or a combo pattern. The massage level is not adjustable. You can also control the unit from the Hyperice app unfortunately I could not get the unit to pair with my Android phone even though the Bluetooth could see the Venom go the app would not pair. I have mixed feelings about this unit. The portability is great as is the adhesive pad. I would have liked a more forceful massage level. You are limited to placement of the unit to where you can reach eliminating placement on some places on your back without help. Even with its shortcomings it is still useful for travel when a conventional heating pad and massager would be too bulky. The unit has the added advantage that it can be used while moving around.

The Hyperice Venom Go is a very effective combination heat and vibration pain management device. It can't magically cure the causes of pain, but it can very effectively treat sore muscles. I have long experienced relief from massage and heat therapy so I was very eager to try this device, since it combines both methods. A major benefit is that it is compact and battery operated, making it very easy to transport. The first thing I noticed is how truly powerful it is for its size. The vibration strength is truly surprising for the small size. Likewise the heat settings can get quite hot. In fact the highest heat setting was so hot that I had to turn it down after a few minutes. It can be completely controlled by the buttons on the device or by the Bluetooth capable App. I recommend using the App because it allows the device to be more precisely controlled. The Venom Go attaches magnetically to the pads and doesn’t function without being connected to a pad. The internal rechargeable battery lasts about 40 minutes which is not surprising to me considering how powerful the heat and vibration effects are. Included in the box are 3 adhesive pads and a USB-C to USB-A charging cord. The pads are rated to last for about 20 uses. If you need a portable battery operated heat/vibration massager then It is highly recommended!

The Hyperice Venom Go is an incredible companion to any athlete or sport enthusiast! The device itself is small enough to easily fit in pant pockets, gym bags, or the bottle holder on a backpack and the heating pads are multiuse and come with plastic protection covers to ensure you always have this handy little device when you need it! The unit charges via USB-C (cable included, no charger) and can be fully controlled with the three buttons on the unit. The vibration and heat levels are controlled independently on either side of the unit, while the top is used for powering on and connecting to your phone with Bluetooth. Operation is very intuitive on the unit itself, with the app allowing for quick tweaks and a timer function. At the time of writing this, there were no preset routines in the app but using the app makes it very easy to set up a session. Overall, I think this device is a must have in your gym bag or backpack for relaxing muscles on the go! I would highly recommend it for athletes of all abilities and skill levels!

Incredible and fast heat. Massage modes are decent, but annoying- it’s not a very “deep” massage. I’d expect in newer versions they’ll add a heavier weight to it. For $100, I expected the battery to last longer than 10-12min. Granted I switched between heat intensity modes during my timer. This product should be $50-$70 for how long the battery life is, not $100. Being a reliable brand I expected a better, longer lasting product. What can be better: massage modes. It feels like they took a cellphone massager and put it into this product. It doesn’t get very deep into the muscle you’re trying to work out. If I were going to make a new version, I’d utilize a heavier weight to get deeper penetration into the muscle than what it currently does. Extend battery life: be nice if this would work while plugged into say a portable battery pack like you use for a iPad/phone/laptop. Using for 10-12min then having to throw on a charger, wait over and hour, and use again isn’t ideal.

Sorry this device did not meet your needs! Our Venom line uses heat and vibration therapy to treat muscle soreness or stiffness. The vibration in this device is not meant to be a deep tissue massage, rather it aids the heating element in accelerating fluid movement which in turn provides the relief to soreness and stiffness. If you are looking for a deep tissue massage to work out any knots in your body, then we might recommend our Hypervolt percussion massage guns instead. We also introduced a Heated Head Attachment to our Hypervolt line if you still want the aided heating therapy.

As for the battery of this device, it will come with a preprogramed 10 minute session and turn off after the session ends. You can always start a new session by using the buttons on the device if you wish to keep using after the 10 minutes are up. If you wish to do a longer session, you can always connect the device to our app which will allow you to customize the session time to up to 30 minutes. This device will have up to an hour battery life when fully charged, but using it on the max heat and vibration settings could reduce this time.

If you have any questions or need further support, feel free to reach us at [email protected] and one of our agents would be happy to help!

Pleasantly surprised. I have a nagging back injury, when I stand for a long time it affects my lower back. I tried this out and set it for half an hour on the strongest setting and it got pretty warm despite its size. It did give me relief and I plan on using it more often. It's pretty small and can be thrown in your bookbag or purse. I wish it came with more pads.
