Sound Quality: 10/10
Mic Quality: 10/10 (based on the response from online friends)
Durability: 10/10
Detachable mic and aux cord allows you to replace components at a fraction of the cost (if needed) rather than replacing the whole headset.
If you play online you will notice an immediate difference and advantage. Footsteps are extremely clear and you have extra time to adjust positions and prepare.
You can also game for extended periods with no discomfort, the headset is sturdy but not heavy, and the ear cups are very comfortable.

This headset is perfect for me. I play video games minimally 8 hours a day and I swap from console to PC. I use this headset for everything except my phone (it can connect to my phone if I wanted it to) and let me tell you - if feels very comfortable even after extended periods of use. If you're used to headsets from the ASTRO brand, this might feel like a bit of a down-grade because there's no volume mixer with this headset - only volume up/down & mute. There's also no software for customizations like you would get with the HyperX Pulsefire Raid but you really don't *need* it with this headset. (No software for this headset is part of why I gave it a 4/5 stars - if the HyperX mouse can utilize software, a headset should too) The microphone is detachable so you can use it for just listening to audio if you want to. Though I don't recommend working out with this headset as it will get moist fairly quickly and thus become uncomfortable. The cord length is nice as well since it's not too long and it's not too short; the only issue is that it can tangle itself up pretty easily which can be annoying (This being the other reason I only gave it 4/5 stars) HyperX is a very good brand though and with them I don't feel like I'm paying a 'logo premium' like you might feel from certain other brands. It's also very durable, I've dropped this headset many times on the ground (concrete flooring) and it's not been scratched or damaged or anything. Overall would highly recommend this headset.

The frame of the headset is very durable and flexible, making it very difficult to intentionally break and especially good for people who rage during games. The audio is good and I can very clearly hear footsteps during games and it sounds very good when listening to music or watchning videos or movies. The mic is decent but not the best but is useable and most people won’t really care (including me). I personally had some issues with the installation however that’s kind of my fault and the motherboard headset jacks not being clearly stated.

I owned a pair of HyperX Cloud II’s for around 3 years, I admit they could’ve lasted me longer if I had taken better care of them. After owning those classic headphones I knew that my next ones had to be from HyperX again, they’re just that good. I bought the Cloud Alpha with high expectations and they did not disappoint. The build quality is fantastic, the earcups are nice and squishy and the headband feels great in your head. It also doesn’t push into your skull. The sound quality is amazing and really well balanced while still having that emphasis on footsteps for the gamers. The microphone is surprisingly good and clear. Overall, these are definitely the best pair of headsets you can get for around 80-100 dollars now that the Cloud II’s have been discontinued.

Works with hearing aids

I spent considerable time researching reasonably-priced headphones with a boom mike that would provide a bit of sound isolation and wouldn't require me to remove my behind-the-ear hearing aids. As a hearing aid wearer, my approach was to let the aids take care of compensating for my high-frequency hearing loss, which meant that they had to stay in. Otherwise, I'd have to get an equalizer and create a similar frequency amplification profile, which seemed needlessly complicated.
I first tried SteelSeries Arctis 1's, which were a disaster. Too much bass and too little space between the speakers and the hearing aids, which sang like canaries. The HyperX Cloud Alpha was much better - flat frequency response and enough room around the hearing aids that they didn't break into oscillation. I occasionally find it necessary to reduce the hearing aid volume one stop, but never more than that and I still hear the treble range very well. I can't comment on distortion because I'm sure that the hearing aids contribute far more than any headphones would. If you wear hearing aids and don't mind looking a bit like an air traffic controller, I recommend the HyperX Cloud Alpha headphones.

Best Gaming Headset Under $100 (and probably over)

I have tried out A BUNCH of the headsets offered for Xbox over the years. From $40-$50 ones up to $200 ones. I feel like this checks all of the boxes aside from wireless.
These have the best sound out of the box and imo the best mic too. The headphones are relatively light and you can wear them for many hours without any fatigue. They also work great for people who wear glasses.
The cable is nice and of quality but I feel the inline mute switch could degrade from excessive use. I have a chat adapter so I mute my mic from there so YMMV.
This colorway is very sleek and stealth! I had a pair of the traditional black and red colorway I gave to a friend and bought these in there place.
Pros:
- Colorway is very stealth like
- Sound Quality
- Mic Quality
- Comfortable
- Nice Cable
Cons:
- They will ruin all other gaming headphones for you
- The inline mic switch is kinda iffy.

Awesome headset for Xbox Series X!

I researched ALOT of different brands of headsets for my new Xbox Series X, and this one seemed to be extremely well rated, with expert review sites indicating it was the best sounding headset for the price...so when this was on sale, it was a no brainer to try this one out.
Fit and Feel - First thing i have to say, is that the materials and construction feel really great. The detachable mic and detachable audio cables are thick, braided and feel sturdy . The earcups are EXTREMELY comfortable. I have a slightly bigger (wider) head, and these did not produce "pressure" om my head. They felt great right away, and after 4 hours of wearing them, i couldn't even feel they were on my head...that is comfort! The padding is great and the headband construction is aluminum with additional cushioning and it feels great.
Sound - IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! Some people indicated that the sound on these is very low, almost at a whisper level when you plug it into the xbox controller and were disappointed, even when they turned up the in-game volume in COD all the way up. The Xbox Series X has a SEPARATE headphone volume control menu that needs to be turned UP! (See my pictures in this review) This is DIFFERENT from the General Audio settings in the regular Settings Menu. When you are in a game or even on the xbox home screen, if you press the round Xbox Home button (that pops up the xbox home quick screen), at the very bottom right of the menu is a sound icon...if you go to that, the audio menu pops up for headphones. Xbox has this at 50% by default, and if you turn it up, BOOM! These headphones are LOUD, and then you can use the inline audio wheel to lower it or adjust to your desire, or use in-game sound menu controls after that. It is something that can EASILY be missed, and apparently has been, by all of the reviews i read about these being really quiet on Xbox and people returned them....when I first plugged these in, the sound was low and i was disheartened because i through the reviews were correct about these being quiet on the xbox, but then i found the separate headphone menu and WOW. I feel sorry for people that didn't realize the Xbox has a separate headphone sound menu because they missed out on fantastic headphones! The microphone sounds great also, because my buddies all said they could hear me loud and clear the entire time. Again, use the headphones menu to turn up the volume for the microphone as well if it seems low, and then use specific in-game menus for tweaks and you are all set!
The sound coming through these is fantastic on the Xbox Series X. I used these for COD Black Ops and you can hear bullets whizzing past your head, and footsteps of other players getting louder or fainter as they run near you, and you can hear the direction they are coming from! I enabled the Windows Sonic on the Xbox Series X for the headphones and it produces a really good surround sound. I will test this setting for about a month before i switch to the Dolby Atmos setting, since I want to make sure I let my ears and senses get used to the surround sound, and then i'll be able to compare if Atmos is that much better on these headphones or if Windows Sonic will suffice, since it's free and you have to pay for a one-time license for Dolby Atmos to activate it on Xbox.
I am EXTREMELY happy with these headphones, granted i've only used them for one day so far. But the sound, clarity and comfort are all top notch on these and they didn't break the bank. If you can get these on sale, you can't find a better bang for the buck!

The HyperX Cloud II is honestly one of the best headsets you can get without spending a fortune. The sound is super clear, the 7.1 surround really helps in games, and the ear cushions are super comfy—even after hours of playing. The mic is detachable and does a good job blocking out background noise, so your friends can hear you clearly. It works with pretty much everything—PC, PlayStation, Xbox—but the surround sound only works with USB on PC. Still, for the price, it’s a great headset that feels solid and sounds awesome.

My son uses these headphones for gaming, and he says that cancelation noise is good. He usually didn't hear anything when he is wearing them. He hangs with it, the audio is clear, and the microphone is too. Good quality. The cord is long. He doesn't like wireless headphones. Super comfortable to wear. It doesn't hurt your ears. The bad part is volume settings are done through whatever device you are using, not through the headphones

I personally really enjoy this headset, & I don’t regret buying them. It fits perfectly on my ears and are super comfortable! The only downside is that from time to time, the mic would cut out & others can’t hear me, I’m not exactly sure if I plugged them in wrong or not, but overall, then headset is amazing!
