I went to our local Best Buy store and recentlyn bought this black, "Compass Brief 13" (with Flight Nylon)" by INCASE for storing, protecting and transporting my new (and 1st ever tablet) 5th Gen IPad Pro - 12.9". I've spent a long time on this review deleting for brevity in order to focus equally on functionality vs detailing too much about the style and organizational components. Initially this type of case wasn't a product on my radar because I undervalued it's purpose; assuming a regular laptop case could work just as well. Despite appearing to be an unnecessary "extra", I'd argue it's one of the most important accessories ranked with the glass screen protector (of those not necessary for the tablet to function like a charger, battery or stylus). The INCASE Compass Brief says 13" in the name but it is slightly larger using the 13" to describe it's compatibility with a MACbook of that size. My 12.9" iPad Pro with a fitted, hard shell keyboard case attached sits comfortably and securely in either of the interior (faux fur lined) pockets and the sturdy zipper easily closes eithout making contact. I'm adding pictures to show what is currently in my bag aside from the cased tablet inside. As of now a few items including a mini clipboard, a small re-sealable bag w/some reciepts, a 3/4 size single subject spiral notebook, the new Logitech Crayon box w/full size stylus inside and the case's included detachable, padded shoulder strap ( to carry the case as a cross body bag). More items could be added without causing damage nor cramping space. There is a zippered, organizarional pocket on the front of the case with 4 vertical slots for writing utensils that can each hold a Pentel Metal Alloy pen just as easily as a regular size Sharpie marker- no stretching necessary. A single open pocket sits on each side of the pens; each wide enough for a note pad or deep enough for storing a charger kit. Currently l have the thick iPad charger&cord in one pocket and an extra phone charger in the other. Despite everything listed everything is organized instead of looking like a haphazard junk draaer. The rest include an unopened USB Flash Drive, an sealed pen set and a box of ink refills for the set. I hope I haven't wasted anyone's time reading this but I know it would've helped me to know this existed and to see what someone else had plced inside.

Great, three-compartment, design. Two interior compartments, one is lined with soft plush to protect notebook from scratches and an external compartment with dividers for pens, note pad and small items. Shoulder strap is well padded for hands free carrying.

Excellent size for my Ipad. Has all the extras a full sized has. Quality made..great for travel or work. Has good padding for protection. Outside pocket for quick access.

I loved the quality of this case, I really surprise.

Good laptop case, comes in handy for when I need to bring it on the go.

Great case to carry your Mac, good space, great materials, If i could change something about it it would be the water resistant nylon material for the $50 dlls price.

I was looking for a light weight padded case to protect my iPad and use when traveling. This is small enough to tuck into a carry on or use as a carry on. Has a side pocket to add other item in.

It's not always easy to find smaller cases that are padded and that have the durability (and extra room for cords, keyboards, mice, etc.). This case is lightweight, has plenty of room and my laptop fits perfectly in it.

I really like this small folio type case! I think it’s originally meant for a different device than I’m using it for but the 12.9 inch iPad Pro fits in there perfectly. Inside is a separate pocket that’ll fit a file folder and the outside zippered pocket holds an extra cable or even a composition notebook. It is light weight but has a beefy handle and plenty of padding. Perfect for taking the iPad and it’s accessories along with you. Definitely a worthy purchase!

I just bought this case for my wife in store. We got her a new MacBook and this one fit really well. There is some padding inside so I think it will help protect it. We wanted something that wouldn't be much bigger than the laptop, and didn't need any crazy pockets and storage, just enough for the charging cord. A perfect option for someone looking for a step up from a laptop sleeve.

I like the size of the Compass Brief Case. My Surface Pro 7 fits in it nicely along with the power supply, mouse, pen and other items needed when I am using the Surface Pro 7. The case is easy to carry and does not take up a lot of room. I like having short handles and also a long shoulder strap to carry the Compass Brief Case. I would like it if the opening zipper was a little longer to make it easier to remove the Surface Pro 7.

I really love this case. I can fit my Macbook Pro and my iPad mini. It has a divider compartment so they are not touching each other. The outside zippered compartment fits my charging cords. It's very durable and not heavy. Yes I recommend this case!

The padding of the Compass brief case does an excellent job of protecting my MacBook Air and it's only a little bit bigger than the case that I used with a second generation iPad. Also, it's very light in weight and easy to carry.

Love this laptop bag! Even though it says 13.3", I bought this to place my new Lenovo Yoga 9i into. I then place it into my backpack. My Lenovo 9i is actually a 14". This works perfect. Fits great, and is well padded. The best protection I could find for my laptop.

Was a slick black protective case for my MacBook I love it so much. I had to buy two a lot of pockets.

Great case to carry my iPad & cords. Well padded & has pockets for phone, paper, pens etc. it’s light weight & great size to take on the plane. The only thing I wished it came in other colors. I would recommend this to anyone. Just make it in other colors.

This is a lightweight carrying bag with a padded pouch for my MacBook. It also has storage for my external hard drive and wireless mouse and charge cable.

This was perfect for what I bought it for. I actually use it for my big iPad but my laptop does fit very nicely. I feel my electronics are protected and well cushion. The extra pockets hold all my cords and accessories plus extra things like my wallet which is great. It looks and feels very professional and I know it’s not really meant for it, the outside layer is smooth and protected my prized electronics when it started to down pour and I made a mad dash across a large parking lot.
