This USB hub is great for PS4 slim owners and PS4 pro owners too. How ever this HUB does not work for the PS4 lunch model. But overall this USB HUB is a great edition is you have more then 2 USB connecting to your PS4 slim or pro models. In addition the back of the hub can be adjusted for the slim model or the pro model. The two connectors on the back and switch from being closer together to far apart depending on your model.

This product works great when I need to add a keyboard or charge additional items. When it comes to voice chat I have to remove it due to the issue of it dropping connection periodically for a second or two and having to re-establish the connection with the headset.

Cool little product and good price, EXCEPT it does not allow you to plug in an external hard drive. An error message will appear on the PS4 saying to plug the drive directly to the console. Works great with bluetooth adapter, VR plug, and other USB devices. But, it lost all purpose since I can't use my external drive at the same time since both console ports are blocked. Will have to return product.

The Insignia 4-Port High Speed USB Hub for PS4 Pro and PS4 Slim is a product that my son loved. This USB Hub made my son’s PS4 more accessible and made him a slightly better gamer I may say.

What many people have not realized based on other reviews is that the USB position on the back of this device is switchable based on your ps4 configuration. Out of the box it comes with USB male ports spread out. But if you look closely you can move one to have it appear as it does on the box. This is what I needed to do for it to fit my original PS4. However I needed to warn my son not to try and eject cds unless he remove this adapter first. Poor design idea.

      Hi Howard,

Thank you for taking the time to review our 4-port USB Hub for PS4. I understand the hub blocks the CD drive and that can be frustrating. I purchased this USB hub because I needed extra USB ports for my ps4. I thought this would be perfect but only one problem, the system won't let you use a USB hub if your useing an external hard drive with the console. I was very disappointed and will be exchanging it for something else. Just wanted to save someone some time!

Haven't had it long, but it adds an extra two ports to your PS4. If you have a external harddrive, you cannot use it plugged in through the hub. Also this hub is designed for the slim and the pro, so if you are using an older PS4, like myself, it blocks the disc drive.

Before I bought this product, I went straight to the reviews and comments as any sensible individual would. However, this left me even further confused, and it appeared as though each review was on an entirely different product from the last. Well, now that I'm an owner of this device, I'll throw my hat in that ring and attempt to sort out the mess of conflicting and illegitimate reviews. Firstly, I would like to point out that any reviews stating the compatibility issues with external harddrives are completely based on fact. My external harddrive would not work with the new device, so thankfully I have a PS4 Pro, as I simply plugged it into the back USB port. However, if you are the owner of an original PS4, or a PS4 slim, beware as there is now compatibility list for external harddrives, so buy this product at your own risk. PS4 Pro's - Your Good! Secondly, for the reviews indicating that the USB ports do not align with certain PS4 versions, that is false. When removing the product from it's box, there is a piece of white cardboard wrapped around the device (very hard to remove without proper cutting utensils, mind you) that has lots of words and big, black letters. Those are instructions, and if some people were to have read those without tearing into the device like lions to carrion, they would see that you simply unlock the ports, swap the USB inserts around to the respective port, lock it back and plug it into any of the PS4's. And lastly, for those who are stating that the product is only useful for charging controllers, this is once again false. I have my official, wired Mini-Controller plugged into the front, yes, but I also have my PSVR V2 plugged into the front, and it works perfectly fine. I don't have any other USB compatible devices to try on it, but I imagine, with the exception of external harddrives, this product works well with any others. Hopefully this has cleared up some of the garble, and even more importantly, I hope this review helps any to distinguish whether or not this device is worth their money. Summary: PS4 Pro users will have to plug external harddrives into the back port. Original PS4 and PS4 Slim owners should only purchase this device if they are not intending to use it with an external harddrive, or they are CERTAIN their external harddrives are compatible.

My only complaint of it and is why I have it a four star is because it will disconnect my controler i have plugged in and my headset that i have. This is my only problem i have. Now about the external hard drive if you read the requirements of using an external on sony's website they say you have to plug it in directly into the ps4 no hubs. Like i said my only problem is it disconnects my c40 and a50 all of the sudden and take me out of my home screen. also there is an eject button on the hub that will take place of the one on the pro.

This is a great way to ad a few extra USB ports without the use of a corded adapter hanging off the front of the PS4 pro. Not only that, it integrates fairly seamlessly and looks like it's actually part of the system. When the PS4 is on or in rest mode, it has a blue led. Doesn't bother me, but just be aware of it. Since the device covers the eject button on THE PS4 pro, there is a button on it allowing disks to be ejected without needing to remove it. The only downside I've experienced is that when removing some USB devices or cables, it's easy to brush the eject button, which can be problematic when I was playing a game.

This fit my PS4 Pro very well. It usually allows 4 devices connected but because it doesn't include an external power supply all of its power comes from just 2 USB ports which means it has limited current and therefore cannot power a Logitech G29 with shifter, a Logitech G Pro Flight X56 Rhino HOTAS hand flight controls, a Thrustmaster T-Flight Rudder set and a standard controller all at once. Because there's no additional power supply you're left to plug in only the controls you must use and remove all the others, otherwise every device connects and disconnects constantly, destroying your gameplay. So this is okay, but not great.

Works good except for my external hardrive that i have plugged into my ps4 for extra memory will not read when i use the hub : but everything else does : luckily the hub is customizable and was able to plug it into one of the ps4 usb and leaving the second usb to use directly for the external harddrive: if you need more usb ports like me it’ll be perfect: it does stand out quite a bit though but not a biggie

It has been said many times before, but you cannot plug an external hard drive to this hub. It doesn't have an external power source. You will get a message that tells you to plug your external HD into the PS4 directly. If your a PS4 Pro owner then you don't really need this (you have more available USB ports), but if you have a PS4 slim, it may be something you need. It works well charging controllers, PSVR and even a wireless headset dongle. You can adjust this hub so that it doesn't interfere with the CD Rom.

The one downside of the PS4 Pro is it only has 3 USB ports and if you use a VR headset and gameing headphones you are only left with one USB port left to charge one controller. I purchased this solve that problem. Esentially this turns the 2 front USB ports into 4 giving you a total of 5 on the PS4 Pro or 4 on the PS4 Slim. It's an excellent value for the price and blends in well with the front of the PS4. My only issue is that it blocks the disc eject button on my PS4 Pro. Not a huge deal since I can eject the disc with the onscreen menu.

This simply adds 2 more USB ports for your PS4. The only real problems with this is that is only works for the PS4 Pro and PS4 Slim. It says that on the box and is my fault for not reading it. The other problem is that if you have an external HDD, it will not work with this like I thought it would. If you just need to charge some extra controllers or plus some extra wired controllers, you'll be fine.

So I needed a hub for my Pro as I run different USB devices on it. Just a quick breakdown of what works and what doesn't. Two USB devices (music/photos) works fine. Adding a 3rd device such as my headset DEPENDS it seems. Playstation Platinum headset seems to WORK FINE with this device as it never cuts off and I use it most often. However, Playstation New Gold Headset DOES NOT work fine. It cuts off often and reconnects. If you have a Platinum headset you should be fine however if you own the newer Gold Headset you're out of luck. Can't speak for ext hdd but the Pro has an extra USB port in the back you can use that for. I also have a laptop fan I use with my Pro that works great. Overall it's only recommended if you have the Platinum headphones, USB laptop fan and use extra USB flash drives as I do for music on the Pro as I have the New Gold Headset on the back of the Pro (and VR on back) and the Pro and also my pc as I move between the two.

Works good, for what I have minus not being compatible/ reading my external hard drive, which I am quite upset with. The point of adding more USB ports is because I want ALL devices connected and working. It works with my dual controller charger and my keyboard extension that I have, so half the ports are being used despite having all but one USB port being plugged in (my external hard drive). I didn’t see anything about the hard drive anywhere, but I saw in one review previously. That was after the fact I already knew at that point. Without this feature, not sure why you would need 4 ports.
