The Insignia Bluetooth receiver, and transmitter is just as advertised. I recently purchased a vintage turntable, and after doing a lot of research,as always. Decided to give this little gem a try. I didn't want to go back to the wired old school dated speakers. I already have a great Dolby Atmos cinematic surround wireless Bluetooth speaker system. Hooked up great the first time. It's amazing!

The device is small but has a solid build. It charges with USB-C or Apple's Lightning port and comes with a charging cable, 3.5mm audio cable, and a storage pouch. It will either transmit or receive. Connected to my iPod in TX mode and paired with my bluetooth headphones right away. Would highly recommend!

Purchased online 10/15/24, received 10/18. Placed on charge, took 8 hours using supplied cable. Paired with my iPod Touch easily. Worked for 2 days, then started having charging issue. Geek Squad looked at it on 10/22, couldn't find any issue. Now it won't pair, returning it for refund/ exchange.

Just What I Was Looking For

PROS: - Bluetooth 5.3. Connects quickly and easy to pair - Ability to make any device with a 3.5 mm jack into a Bluetooth device. - Can use non-Bluetooth earbuds/headphones wirelessly (assuming the other device is Bluetooth) by connecting to 3.5 mm port. Personally, I use my audiophile headphones to listen to my Apple TV/Smart TV/Desktop PC. - Ability to charge it via USB-C OR Lightning. Which is neat. - Comes with a USB-A to USB-C charging cable and small 3.5 to 3.5 mm cord. - Small and portable. No clip. MEDIOCRE: - Wireless range is average. I didn’t notice any dropouts when close. Worked through minimal walls. - 16-hour battery life. Charge time is average. - Cost is right where I would except it to be for the level of performance. - Overall build quality is solid but all plastic. Lightweight. Buttons/switches feel good but not great. - Regular Bluetooth controls work well. (Single tap: play/pause, Double Tap: Forward, Triple Tap: Go back). - Audio quality is good. But not great. I do notice some latency when being critical. CONS: - When trying to run high OHM headphones (Ex Sennheiser HD650 at 250 ohms) there isn’t enough power to provide good volume. Also, depending on how much power is required to run the headphones can see a reduction in audio quality. - Has a setting for low/high volume. Depending on headphones/earbuds I could hardly notice a change. CONCLUSION: I was interested in this mostly so I could make all of my non Bluetooth devices Bluetooth enabled along with connect my normal wired headphones to Bluetooth enabled devices (such as my phone and Apple TV) and be able to move wirelessly. It does both of those things excellently. It’s a niche product and the fact that it works well and does everything I want it to do without any problems is icing on the cake. Definitely recommend if you’re in the same boat.

    Plug and Play some Music

This tiny piece of hardware is surprisingly versatile. Not everyone will have a use for it as most devices have bluetooth built-in, but if you do need to turn a headphone jack or line-in/aux jack to either send an audio signal or receive it, this baby will get it done. I have listed a number of devices I have used with this adapter and it performed well (most of the time). It comes equipped with the device, a type C cable, 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable, a little pouch and a manual. It features 2 charging ports (type C and Lightning), as well as a switch to select the mode in which you will use it, another switch to select amplification and a headphone jack. The main pair/power button is located on the top of the unit. During my testing sessions, I hooked it up to different devices and in almost all cases, the sound was transmitted or received very well. I had some minor issues with the laptop as the sound came out way too loud and caused the speakers to saturate. The best results came from the car. My wife's car does not have bluetooth but does have a line-in plug. The sound was carried from my phone to the stereo and the quality was really good. (+) Can act as a receiver or transmitter (+) Small size (+) Comes with cables (+) Can be charged for mobility (+) Can turn just about anything into a bluetooth enabled device (+) Easy to use (in most cases) (-) Has a built-in battery which needs to be charged for use (-) Cables are short (-) Sound can get very distorted if the amplification is turned on (-) Battery life isn't spectacular (-) Short but notable delay/lag between unit and paired devices Tested on a laptop, Nintendo Switch, XBox Series X, Onkyo amplifier, bluetooth headphones and speaker, a car stereo and an electronic drum set. No problems. Recommended!

The Insignia bluetooth wireless audio transmitter and receiver is a fantastic way to watch media from the TV without disturbing anyone else in our household. This small and compact transmitter/receiver works very well and is pretty simple to use. We have been using it in our household over the last week to stream media in the evening when the kids have gone to sleep. We are still able to enjoy 2 bluetooth headphones paired to the transmitter and listen at our own pleasure. 33 feet of connectivity range is perfectly adequate to move around the house while staying paired to my device. This receiver has Bluetooth 5.3 technology and will stay up to date and current for years to come. Included you will find the actual Bluetooth transmitter/receiver, USB A to USB C charging cable, a 3.5mm audio cable, and the small gray pouch for storage and carrying. It's a very small device and doesn't take up much space at all. You simply need to have a device to plug the 3.5mm plug into and then set up the pairing for your headphones to listen. Overall I think it's a great device to expand the listening capability of your devices such as a computer, vehicle, or TV viewing. Many uses for this small device and it's universally compatible with many items.

INSIGNIA - BLUETOOTH WIRELESS AUDIO TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER – BLACK MODEL:NS-HPBTAA23 GREAT / TINY – BLUETOOTH TX/RX – PERFECT FOR TRAVEL The product pictures make this look large. I was pleasantly surprised to see how small it is. (a little bigger than 2 postage stamps). This device is perfect for my upcoming international trip. I have some new Noise Cancelling BT headphones and was wondering how to use them on the plane. This little guy will be perfect. I can’t wait to give them a full workout. PROS - Small (Tiny) - Included USB C – Charging Cable - Included 3.5MM – Stereo Cable - Supports 2 Headsets - Easy to use CONS - Non So Far SETUP The instructions are actually helpful, and complete. In my case I needed TX mode, so I put the device in TX and pressed the main button to enter pairing mode. I put my ear buds in pairing mode, and I was off and running. PERFORMANCE The audio quality was good, no issues. I did not experience any noticeable lag when playing several videos from my PC. SUMMARY This BLUETOOTH Transmitter / Receiver is a good value, performs very well, has good battery life. I look forward to adding it to my permanent travel kit.

I was excited about getting the Insignia -Bluetooth Wireless Audio transmitter and Receiver since my computer's Bluetooth died on me. I also like that it works as both a receiver and transmitter so it has a dual use. When hooked up to my computer it broadcast out of the headphone jack connected to my Ausus Z-97 motherboard which enables high-definition audio. This made me expect stellar sound abilities using the Asus software. However, I found that Windows Spatial Sound works best with the use of an extension in chrome called Audio Equalizer in the browser I have my over-the-ear BackBeat Pro 2 headphones pumping to the max and sounding phenomenal with the Insignia Transmitter set to low. This took a lot of work to figure out the ideal configuration. Now that I have the sound is just amazing and better than ever. Now I am excited and feel like this is the best Bluetooth sound I have ever heard. Now that that has been said I have to say that I have been wanting some sort of interface really bad. It is pretty difficult to get two devices paired and then get them both to work without repairing them when I want to switch them. Hopefully, with more use I will be able to completely master this device. For now, I will just enjoy being able to use any of my Bluetooth headsets on my computer and enjoy music videos and songs. Not including the interface issue the Insignia Bluetooth Audio Wireless transmitter-receiver is probably the best I have had of this type of device. You just have to figure out the right configuration and find the right EQ with an amplifier or gain setting. I also feel like this device will last a long time and the battery life is good as well. If you need something like this it is a good choice and priced reasonably.

    Great Bluetooth Transmitter/Receiver

I own a Bluetooth audio receiver, but I often found a need for an audio transmitter too. I did not want to have two separate devices, so I was pleased to try this out. The pairing directions as a Bluetooth receiver and transmitter are the same, so it was pretty easy. The device itself looks like it is metal, but feels like mid-grade plastic. The button and switches are responsive, but they feel like the same plastic as the case. I was pleased to find a short 8-inch standard USB to USB C cable, 4-inch male-male 3.5mm cable, and a microfiber-like carrying case. I was pleasantly surprised to find both a USB C and lighting cable charging port. The charge advertised to lasts about 16 hours, but I have not checked nor had the battery die yet. Receiver I was able to link my phone easily and was listening to streaming music within a few seconds in my older vehicle. The quality was great with a strong signal. Transmitter I was successful at pairing two Bluetooth headphones to a single iPad using the provided directions. I watched a few videos on-line and did not notice much of a lag with the picture and audio. Since there is a mention of the lag in the directions, I was activity listening for it. Otherwise, I doubt I would have noticed it. I would highly recommend these. The price is right, the transmitter can send two Bluetooth signals, and they eliminate the need for both a Bluetooth receiver and transmitter.

I have 2 other wireless bluetooth audio transmitter/receiver, so I have a more limited experience. However, compared to the other two products, the insignia does a fine job and feels appropriately priced product. Out of the gate, the product feels a little light, does not feel sturdy. A little concerning if you want to attach this to a moving / mobile product that needs bluetooth. So I think this is most fare to attach to say an old LCD TV you want to transmit audio so you can watch tv at night and not disturb anyone. In that scenario, great way to use this product. Another way I use these products is to be able to utilize my bluetooth Bose Headphones to an old computer, so I can do remote teleconferences. I had alot of trouble with Insignia's set up to get this functionality to work, but it does work and it does a decent job. My coworkers tell me there is no difference in my microphone/sound on the other end, vs a wired headset or compared to another computer with native bluetooth. I would NOT expect a high fidelity audio reproduction in this manner, I would not use this product for that purpose. This is not what it's intended for and avoid this product if you are in this category. The absolute best way is - old radio or old tv, giving it the ability of bluetooth to connect to your new generation of bluetooth devices, such as headsets or speakers.

THE BREAKDOWN: The Insignia Bluetooth Wireless audio transmitter and receiver is great little device. I have an older vehicle that does not have Bluetooth capabilities, and this allows me to use my phone to play music or take phone calls in the vehicle. You can also transmit to up to two devices. We tested this with the TV and Bluetooth headphones. This feature worked as described. We also connected two different Bluetooth speakers and put them on opposite sides of the room and the sound was spot on with zero lag. For me this is a great device to use in my older vehicle. I am not sure if it has an auto off feature or not, I foresee my wife forgetting to turn off the device but luckily you can also plug it in to the power using either a USB-C or lightning cable. It also states that it has about a 16-hour battery life, and I consistently have gotten around 15 hours. PRO’s: -Receive or Transmit Bluetooth signals -16-hour battery life -Lightning or USB-Charging -Bluetooth 5.3 CON’s: -No auto-off feature that I can tell SUMMARY: Overall, this product worked well and as intended, and I would recommend this to a friend if they were in the market for device like this.

The Insignia Bluetooth wireless audio transmitter and receiver allows two headphones (speakers or combo) to connect at the same time. Some of the other positives of this product include longer battery life and a two-level sound slide control. On the negative side, the multi-function button may be challenging for some users to operate. Some functions require holding or rapidly pressing the button. On a final note, make sure the 3.5mm connecting cable is completely inserted. Otherwise, there is no sound while the blinking light indicates to the contrary.

Have a pair of wired headphones that you would like to use as bluetooth, or some speakers that you would like to use with blutooth? Then this is the device for you! I really like that you can use this bluetooth adapter as a receiver or transmitter. My desktop computer at work does not have built in bluetooth, so I connected and was able to use my bluetooth headphones with my computer. I did not have any audio dropouts or connection issues. It sounded just like having wired headphones on my computer. The instruction manual was very clear on how to connect my bluetooth headphones as well. What I'm really excited about is using this on a plane. If your flight has an inflight entertainment you will need to connect your headphones using a wire. However with this device you can connect to the headphone jack and stream to your favorite headphones with out having a wire in the way. I could also see using this in a car that has an AUX jack but not bluetooth (mainly older cars). I also plan to use this in rental cars so I do not have to connect my phone to the vehicles bluetooth and have it upload my information to the cars radio system. In the photos the device looks very large, this is not the case thankfully. It is very small and light which makes it easy to put in my headphone case so I can always have it with me. The device is made out of plastic, but the charging ports, switches, and headphone jack seem solid and should last a while. Their also two charging ports one for USB C and you can also use your iphone lightning adapter to charge as well. This was smart by Insignia as it can be charged by the most popular used devices! We have many insignia devices in our house (TVs, radios, etc) and they all function great and are built to last. This device is no exception and should provide many years of use! Overall this will come in handy since it can transmit or receive bluetooth signals. Since it is small enough it can be used pretty much anywhere at anytime.

This item is very light and easy to use. It works almost as expected, the connection is good and stable. I mostly use it to make my normal headset a Bluetooth enabled headset. The battery life is good, use it around 2 hours everyday, and seems last for 3 to 4 days. But need to note that this item seems only support SBC codec, no AptX or AAC. Thus the price/value is just so so.

    Super Handy Bluetooth Tx/Rx Device

This tiny and relatively inexpensive device is super handy. After a quick charge it is ready to use. Just plug it into the 3.5 mm audio port of a device that does not have Bluetooth and it works with the Bluetooth devices you have paired or choose to pair. Super simple. What’s in the box: The light weight and tiny (appx. 1.5” by 2”) Tx/Rx Insignia device 3.5 mm male to male cable USB-A to USB-C cable Drawstring storage bag Instruction sheet that is actually pretty thorough To test the transmit function, I connected it to my SO’s aging desktop computer’s audio port, and made sure the Tx/Rx switch was set to Tx. Then I turned it on and paired it with my favorite Bluetooth headphones. The connection was stable and the sound was clear. (One should be aware that the device is designed to work in either Transmit or Receive. Not both at the same time. Please don’t expect to use it for online meetings or situations where you need to listen and talk.) The instruction sheet was pretty clear on how to pair it. But basically, you put your headphones/other device in pairing mode. Then hold down the button on the Insignia device for three seconds until it begins to flash blue and red. When it is paired the light flashes blue slowly, once every five seconds. Next, to test the Receive function, I connected the device to my guitar amplifier’s 3.5mm aux input port. I moved the Tx/Rx switch to Rx and held the button on the device for three seconds to put it in pairing mode. It paired easily to my phone and I was listening to streaming music through my amp in no time. The device is very portable, pocket size, and because you can charge it with either a Lightning cable or a USB-C cable, there is no need to carry around a separate charge cable. Just use what you have with you. In summary, this tiny but very handy device adds Bluetooth functionality to almost anything with a 3.5mm audio port.

This is all you need to add bluetooth capability to any old receiver. In my case it's my old Bose 123 DVD system. I will have to use a 3.5mm plug to either digital audio or rca (white and red) plug. The device has a solid build. It charges with USB-C or Apple's Lightning port. It will either transmit or receive. Make sure you read all instructions and you should be set.

Travelers, gamers, and anyone who needs to connect your Bluetooth headphones should grab one of these Insignia Wireless Share devices. I was on an international trip last year for 10 hours and I saw someone with one of these and I had traveler’s envy. I saw them plug and play their movie using their own earbuds. Fast forward to this year and I’ve got my own and I’ve been able to use to for two trips to Florida and it is so easy to use and set up. In the box you’ve got your device, an aux cord, a USB-C charger and small dust bag. So charging and setup is a breeze. My favorite feature is that you can connect any two devices to the device and share whatever you’re watching or listening to. One more thing, I have a record player and an amplifier. I’ve been searching for something that will allow me to play my records. It worked! The small downside is that the aux cord is about an inch long but I think it’s okay. If I need a longer one I can grab one easily. Overall, a great addition to your tech bag, it’s not something you think you need until you do!

    A Little Jewel of a Transmitter/Receiver

Excellent product! I use this Insignia Transmitter/Receiver to: 1) route sound via bluetooth from a newer large screen tv (which has only hdmi, ARC, bluetooth, and optical connections) to my vintage wired Jensen floor speakers by using an analog adapter to connect the transmitter/receiver to the phono connection on my vintage Technics SA-GX505 Stereo Receiver (output is phenomenally clear, with booming base and sound so loud that I cant stay in the room long if the volume is turned past 5 on the receiver); and 2) route sound from the same tv to my wired headphones to allow me to watch tv as late into the night as I please without disturbing the sleep of others. I love the sound of my vintage audio equipment, and this Insignia Transmitter/Receiver has basically future-proofed my vintage system by making it possible for me to continue enjoying that sound in conjunction with today's technology.
