Customers commend the Dock Kit for its affordability, portability, and functionality. They appreciate having an extra dock, especially for travel, and find it easy to use. However, some users have concerns about the limited number of USB ports, occasional charging issues, and potential overheating, which are common with third-party docks.

Works exactly like the OEM Switch Dock! I use this all the time with no issues. It doesn't overcharge your Switch, so you don't have to worry about damage. I've had a few friends over and they've used it too with no issues. It only has one USB port, but you can use a hub or a splitter if you need more.

Better built than the OEM part. Easier to dock with less chance of scratching the screen. Bought it to use in the living room and never take it to the other dock. Comes with everything you need, for half the price of an extra OEM dock.

Needed a second dock to use while I travel and this was a great option! It is very compact and smaller than the original making it easy to travel with and the dock works properly.

I can finally have easy access to my switch system in the living room. When guests come over I can move my switch system from dock to dock with ease. Happy I can play Just Dance in a larger room.
It’s working without any flaws. I might buy another one for the spare bedroom!

This product allows us to switch the Switch between 2 rooms. To play in the kids room and the living room for everyone the play. And because of the design, the screen will not be scratched. There is no plastic covering the front screen.

Significantly smaller than the original dock, but only has one USB port, which is the only problem I have with this dock. It has a great matte finish, and strong build. I feel like dropping this would hurt the floor more than it would hurt the dock.
It's a great kit if you move your dock often and travel with it. You get an AC adapter with the dock, while the Nintendo dock itself is far more expensive, and the official Nintendo adapter itself is nearly the price of this kit.
-Goes in a little stiff, I'm used to giving it a slight push when I slide it in the original dock, but since it doesn't have walls to hold it in, I'm guessing it's just stiff to keep it properly in place.
-Dock has a nice weight to it, and the rubber feet are quite stiff, giving it good friction if you happen to pull it by the moving cables or whatnot.
-Dock does not have a TV/tabletop mode, so when you dock your Switch it will always try to go into TV mode, even if no HDMI cable is attached.
-Have not checked if it runs hot, but with less covering the Switch should allow it to cool more efficiently.

Wow....this was on sale for $35. After reading user reviews and also investigating on Reddit I decided to give this little guy a go. Works great. Use it in my arcade and also use it on the go as its much smaller and easier to transport than the N dock. Only thing to be aware of is this dock only has 1, presumably USB2 port. That's OK as there is currently no USB3 support on Switch (yet but official dock has a 3.0 port). This will only be an issue in the future if they start supporting removable USB storage options. Again for $35 super deal and much 'safer' than the Nyko dock.

Great for Travel and Second Charging Station

I use this dock mainly when traveling with the Switch (I do this a lot) because I really hate disconnecting the Nintendo dock then having to redo/reconnect all parts and you don't risk losing or damaging the Nintendo dock.
I love the Insignia dock for four reasons: 1) smaller than the original dock which leads to point 2) more portable and travel friendly, 3) it doesn't break the bank and 4) it works and feels like great quality.
When I'm not using it during travel it is a second charging station which is extremely convenient for me since. Definitely recommending adding this to your arsenal if you're going to be traveling or want to have a second charging station or even attach it to a second TV in the home.

I somehow lost my original dock in my move across the country (it's still driving me crazy that I have no idea where it went), so I needed a replacement. The official Nintendo brand was like $80 or something crazy like that, so I continued looking. I was nervous reading the different reviews on this and other docks about bricking the system, but this one was the best option according to multiple websites and the price was great. I've now had it for almost 2 months and have not had one problem. Granted, I don't use my switch everyday, but no signs of any problems and I actually like this dock a lot better as well! It sits in there nice and tight, and no walls surrounding the whole thing.
I would absolutely recommend to anyone needing a replacement or just an additional dock for travel or separate rooms. It comes with the cords as well, so no need to disconnect everything if using as an extra!

Hello Brooke!
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to leave a review. I am sorry to hear you misplaced your original Dock! I know its a bit scary when you have to opt for a replacement product. Regardless, I am glad that our Dock worked out really well for you and works just as good as your original piece. I you ever have any questions, please feel free go get in contact with my team for assistance.

I bought this for my nephew to leave at his grandparents so he didn't have to carry his original dock around with him. It doesn't bother me that you can't play in table top mode while charging but just from the design, you would think that it was an option. If you have a tempered glass screen protector on your switch, you should be able to dock it with no problem. I think the price is great for something that includes the dock, an HDMI cable and a USB-C AC charging adapter. If you like to travel with your accessories, this would definitely take up less space than the original dock.

If you're looking for a replacement, extra one, etc, this is the one for you. I love certain insignia products, for the price you can't go wrong, certain things you should buy for other companies but this one is certainly worth your money.
It works just as good as the official one and comes complete out of the box. I had this one setup in my bedroom for when I wanted to play at my computer desk. Great investment.

A Great and Affordable Portable Dock!

I've been looking for a portable dock solution since the launch of the Nintendo Switch. I had tried others, but they weren't great. This however is the most affordable and best performing portable dock on the market. It works extremely well with no issues, and it comfortably fits the Switch inside (as long as you don't have a case on it). The other great thing about this dock is that it comes with an AC Adapter and HDMI cable, so you don't have to get those separately and end up spending more. Only downside is that it only has 1 USB slot instead of 3 like the Nintendo dock, but since it's so much smaller that makes sense.
For context, I had originally used the Nyko dock, but after reports of multiple failures and how it could brick your Switch, I decided to get rid of it in fear of the Nyko Dock doing that to my Switch. It was't exactly a great device either, as the Switch couldn't wake up from sleep mode while docked in the Nyko Dock, and sometimes the image would cut out for a second. I've had none of these issues with the Insignia Dock, and it works just like the original, but it's smaller and easier to travel with.

This dock is as good as the original that came with the Switch but for half price. IT DOES NOT BRICK YOUR SWITCH!!! I have this in my office on my gaming pc monitor (27", 2560x1440, 1ms, 144Hz) and it looks incredible. Now I can play on the 120" in the theater or in my office. Perfect solution for the Switch & will buy another for our living room.

This is a really nice dock for the price. Ultimately, I docked one star because it's a pretty tight fit if you have a glass screen protector. For the most part, this works just as well as the Nintendo dock, and is much more portable. It takes a bit more effort to remove the console and only has one USB port, but otherwise works just as well as the original dock for less than half the price. Great dock for the money!

It's almost 1/2 the price of the Nintendo dock and has all of the features except maybe one less USB port. You can use a USB hub as a work-around.
It's great replacement if your Nintendo dock breaks or a secondary dock for another room.

This docking station works just like the OEM Nintendo docking station. It fits the Switch perfectly, however, it is much smaller and takes up less space. The price is less than half of the original, but works just the same.

Grabbed this after doing a bit of research, it's the best option when it comes to a non-Nintendo branded dock. It doesn't have USB 3.0 ports or a second USB port for that matter, but for half the cost of the Nintendo branded dock, has the same functionality and it comes with a charging cable; you can't go wrong.

It might not be an official Nintendo dock but it still does what it’s intended for. I say its price is decent as well. It’s compatible with the Nintendo Switch and it basically does what the original dock was meant for plus it’s smaller & easy to plug and play so yeah it’s worth it.

If you are looking for another Nintendo Switch dock, get this one. No need to pay for an overpriced Nintendo branded one, this one does the job.
For $40 you get everything you need to set up a second docking system for your Nintendo Switch - a dock, a AC Adapter, and a HDMI cable. Most other ones are missing the AC adapter, but this kit has everything you need.
I liked it so much, I have two of them now. The original dock in my living room, a Insignia dock in my kids room and another Insignia dock in my bedroom. Now I can easily move my Switch from one room to another seamlessly with just the Switch console.
The Insignia dock isn't as overbearing as the original dock. It's somewhat more "portable" to travel with as well.
