Best CPU at the Price Point

It's only been installed for roughly a month paired with a Corsair H115i Platinum AIO Cooler. This processor is a monster for the price. It is easy to OC and has stayed cool through some lengthy gaming sessions. This is more CPU than I will ever need, and I'm happy I chose it over the unlocked i7. I would recommend this processor to anyone unless they're doing some intense video editing, etc. One note to prospective buyers: this CPU (as with all Intel processors I believe) does not come with any CPU cooler, and one will have to be purchased separately.

    Perfect Chip for Gaming

Coming from a 4790k I was apprehensive about upgrading in the past because I didnt feel the performance was there, but the 9600k changed that for me. I enjoy overclocking and this chip didn't disappoint, 5.2ghz on all cores with a max temp of 68c with a 240 aio left my 4790k in the dust and with much less power. Great chip and I highly recommend it.

Like most I have been stuck at home during the covid 19 lockdown. Looking for something to do I decided to see what I could put together for a decent price that I could dedicate for working on my 3D printing and modeling design projects in Fusion360 . I chose the i5 processor and MSI motherboard as I felt it would meet the demands of the tools required for this work. So far I am very pleased that it has lived up to the tasks intended. I assembled it on a simple vertical open framework and gives it a very Maker like appeal as well.

For a while I researched and debated between the 9600k, 9700k or Ryzen 7 2700x for my new build and I decided to give this a shot. I’m using a Corsair h100i pro and temps are mid 40c in gameplay, although I have not overclocked yet this thing is a beast and I just know the right decision was made. So if for gaming you are building for go for Intel i5 9600k, I’m glad I did.

Getting this CPU while on sale was a great deal! Ideally I would have tried to go for an i7, but the difference in price for gaming, just could not be justified. Pairing this with an ASUS ROG Maximus motherboard, Ill be in for a good time! Dont let the i5 fool you, this CPU can still achieve some amazing results.

Great CPU for gamers in general. Can't really fend for workstations. Purchased with the CPU/Motherboard bundle sale they were offering and got it for a great price. So far so good! Speeds are excellent and have not disappointed me. Don't forget this does not come with a stock cooler. Must buy your own. I also wouldn't recommend the intel stock one either. Paired with a Master Cooler EVO 212 Black Edition

I’ve had my z270 board with my 6600k for a while, and 4 cores wasn’t cutting it enough. Instead of going for an i7 7700k with 4 cores and 8 threads, went ahead and sprung for this along with a z390 board. Overclocked to 5.3GHz on a Corsair 240 aio. Temps stay at 35C idle and don’t go over 70C while under stress tests. Loving it!

Great cpu. Runs ~4400 MHz stock for gaming. Replaced my i5 4670K which was overclocked to 4300 MHz at 1.35 volts. This is a huge upgrade to that.. Similar speeds to a i7 9700K which I also have in another pc. Runs at 4600 MHz.

Bought this to go in my new custom gaming build and it's been doing great! It had handled everything I've thrown at it so far. Does not come with a stock cooler, which was done with me since my PC is water cooled.

Great CPU. Fantastic for gaming. If you've got good cooling (280 or 360 AIO), this will overclock to 5.0 or more with no problem (Mine hit 5.2 ghz). Great price, and great performance

Bought this just before the 10th gen intel was announced, but I’m very pleased with the performance. Able to achieve a stable 5.2 GHZ overclock when used with the MSI z390 board. You will need a good cooler to maintain temps below 60 but this is a great budget option

Good cpu, isn’t anything fancy but will run almost all games at 60fps easily with a quality gpu to pair with it. You can get this cpu for $200 and even cheaper with bundle deals, highly recommend.

Overclocks really well. 4.9GHz stable. There is no need for a stronger card with purely gaming in mind. The only reason you would need anything more powerful is if you are an avid animator.

This CPU is over a year old, but it is still one of the top performers when gaming at 1080P. It absolutely crushes anything AMD offers at any price in terms of FPS at 1080P and this has been verified by multiple scientific tests. In contrast, the Ryzen 5, 7, and 9 series absolutely destroy this CPU in multithreaded workloads. So choose based on your needs. The bottom line FACT is that in terms of value when your build is primarily for gaming at 1080P there is nothing that can beat this CPU for the money. This is especially true if you already own a quality Z370 or Z390 motherboard and a quality cooling solution.
