FAST and UNLOCKED

The 9700k is a better option now. But this is still a great CPU as well.

Great chip, but pricey

It's an i7 8700k through and through, the only difference is it's a "binned" cpu or cherry picked silicon. Functionally it boosts higher than a standard 8700 but and probably runs a bit cooler, but that's it. They should have called this a i7 8800k I bought it cause it is simply the best i7 you can buy right now, nothing more, there's nothing limited about it, just the packaging. If you want the fastest i7 you can buy right now then get it, otherwise save some money and get a 8700k which is basically the same thing.

Great product

Performance is smooth even running several resource intensive apps simultaneously. I can say I do not regret my purchase on this for one second.

Best CPU I have ever owned

The 8086 celebrates the 40th anniversary today June 8, 1978 to June 8, 2018. Additionally the 50 years of Intel are complemented by the 5 GHz boost speed. Doubly commemorative perhaps. I was in the market to build a new computer and along came the 8086K processor. Hello new component for my new build. This is nostalgia in a shiny new box. And RIP Andy Grove. Thanks for all the years of x86.
