This will do a good job transferring slides to digital. Just make sure you clean the slide viewer very often. I didn't load the software into my windows 10 system. I transferred the slides to the SD card and then loaded the card into my laptop. When I opened the file there was some editing software ready to work for me. Worked very good actually. So I was hesitant to load the software because of the windows 10 platform but it worked out very well. It does take some time but now they are saved I don't know if this product is great or not but I am happy.

Bought this cool little machine to scan my old film slides. These are some of my favorite pictures and are beginning to fade. The scan quality is good but getting the slides through the feeder was sometimes a challenge. The slides jam every now and then due to varying cardboard frame thickness. There is an adjustment mechanism that seems to help. Also, one slide is usually left behind and pops out when you start to put the next stack through. Looking forward to trying the negative scanner. I'll let everyone know how that works out! -Oh, -unrelated to the machine itself, clean the slides well before you scan them. Dust motes look like boulders on the digitalized scans.

I purchased this scanner because of the very large volume of slides in my 50-year old collection and the time-consuming manner of placing each slide into a four-slide holder for use with a flatbed scanner. Its most convenient feature is also its weakest...the autofeeder sometimes fails to feed, which then results in a bothersome clearing procedure. The feeder gate can be manually adjusted for different mounts (e.g. plastic, paper, et.al.), but would be better if it would auto-adjust. The scan quality is adjustable, and it comes with a 4GB SD card, and a USB cable. I have not connected the device to my computer (Win 10) as yet; I simply remove the card and plug it into the computer. I am satisfied with the scan quality at the highest setting, which says a lot, since I am very hard-to-please when it comes to picture quality. It is, however, slower than I prefer (at highest setting). The built-in viewer is rather small, and would be better if replaced w/a 3" touchscreen w/zooming. Overall, it is over-priced, given its shortcomings (in my opinion).

I "adopted" a few thousand slides plus hundreds of negatives from years of family vacations when my parents downsized. I wanted to make digital copies that could be shared with other family members--plus free up the space currently taken up by the slides. After doing research on slide scanners, I bought this unit. It was an excellent price and works quickly to do the job. I decided before starting that--if I came across some slides that I wanted done perfectly--I would use another scanner I already had. But the ION unit lets me do MANY slides in a relatively short period of time with acceptable quality. I couldn't ask for more. Plus my Dad has already gotten great enjoyment out of revisiting old memories.

I purchased the Ion in order to save years of family slides. The option to load a stack of slides into the Ion does not work and I had to load each slide individually, but ultimately this was not a big problem--just took more time. But it was easy to move the converted images onto my computer and I was very pleased with the results. I have not yet tried to convert film negatives.

This is a great little machine and does a great job. I transferred over 2100 slides from 1963 thru 1988. Best thing is to get all your slides organized and all you do is load 4 at a time. This sounds slow, but after a few slides, I could do about 40 in 12 minutes. Machine has buttons where you can brighten, darken and change the colors, as well as the saturaton. But, I like leaving the slides pretty much as they were, except sometimes, I would brighten a darker slide. You too, will develope your own system. I think you will be satisfied your purchase.

The Ion slide scanner works quite well. While 40 year old slides will never match the quality of current digital photos, this device does provide a way to digitize those thousands of old slides relatively quickly, with a reasonable level of resolution. The Ion is far faster and more convenient than the large flatbed scanner with transparent material adapter that I had been using. Dust control, however, is critical to obtaining acceptable results. Both the slide itself and the screen inside the Ion must be as dust-free as possible to get a quality scan. The Ion's ability to adjust exposure is also a very helpful feature. Only issue I have with my Ion is that the local Best Buy had only one in stock (despite showing two available on line) and it was an open box item. It had apparently been returned and was obviously never used. The open box tag said there were no missing accessories, but unfortunately, that was not the case. Almost everything was there, but I saw on the box after the fact that it was supposed to include an SD card and a cleaning brush, both of which were missing. I did not return to my local store to complain because I liked the unit (and knew they had no others at that time), I have several SD cards, and I did not think the cleaning brush was significant. Now that I know how sensitive the dust issue is, I would have liked to have the Ion cleaning brush. Nevertheless, the unit does what it is supposed to do, does it well, and is just what I needed to start converting my slides to digital storage. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs to convert slides quickly, efficiently, and with an acceptable level of resolution.

I bought this device for a 1,000 slide conversion project. The slides were from the 60's and came in all shapes and sizes. It was easy to use, fast and a lot simpler that I thought. The challenge were the slides themselves because the thickness varied which caused some to slide in together, however this was easily remedied by taking them out and inserting them in a different order. Thicker slides with the same thick slides. The device accommodates various thicknesses but FUJI did not alway match KODAK. The one thing I would recommend is to make sure you brush off your slides (with the enclosed brush) before converting. A piece of dirt from one will stick to the glass and next thing you know, same dirt will be on all the conversions. You can't brush the glass but a little air spray can will clean the glass out. DO NOT USE the compressed air cans on the slides because it will freeze the film and you get nothing. All in all, great device I now use these slides as screen savers on my Mac so I actually get to see these pictures all the time instead of pulling out photo albums that no one looks at, including me.

This machine allows you to view slides and if you like them you can put them onto your computer and then onto a DVD if you like with music in the background. It's pretty amazing to me because the slides that we have are over 50+ years old and even though the slides are so old the colors and picture quality are still really amazing! Love this Ion Film 2 SD Plus! It's Awesome!

I was surprised at how quickly it scanned the slides. My slides were old and a little warped, so occasionally they got stuck, but that is not the products fault. It is great to have the flexibility to scan slides and put them on a SD card (and not have to be hooked up to the computer). Quality of scanned picture was better than expected especially since slides were so old.

Met our expectations. The Ion Audio Film 2 SD Plus ISC09 scanner was easy to use and transferred our 35mm slides and various size camera negatives that we had laying around the house for years. The viewer worked without any issues. We downloaded the images to a Secure Digital card that was included in our purchase of the scanner. I would have given the scanner a 5 star rating if the scanner allowed for a cable connection to my computer for a direct download in addition to using the Secure Digital card.

I hadn't been able to find a negative scanner that was both affordable and had great reviews. But when Walgreens told me they cannot print black and white negatives, I decided to give this one a try. I had a great Christmas gift planned for my grandma that included family pictures that were 50 years old. I was running out of time when Walgreens gave me the crazy news that they can only print colored negatives. So I bought this one last minute. It worked great. Almost too well since any scratch or dust on the negative shows up. A little photoshopping to touch up the scratches and they were good to go. I have also had a great time going though all of my grandmas old negatives and getting to see pictures of my mom and aunts/uncles that I had never seen before.

Have an old slide scanner that previewed and scanned only two slides at a time. Scans went directly to computer. Of course current operating systems no longer support it. Was elated when I found the Ion-Film to SD Scanner. As a stand alone scanner, you can use it with any device that accepts the SD card. I scanned literally hundreds of slides in a short time. The only problem I had was with older slides from the 40"s.
They were mounted in a thicker cardboard, some were even in a glass and metal mounting, so I couldn't stack these. I had to load one at a time, but all were in perfect focus, and it was worth the extra time to save them. The ominous task of digitizing slides has been solved.
I have already recommended to others.

Used this to convert about 200 slides to digital. My son had to figure out how to operate as the instructions are inadequate. Once going, operation is manual and slow, but certainly adequate for what I had to do. Ability to adjust picture brightness is great to have as slides are 50 years old. Somewhat cumbersome but I got the job done. The editing software (included) allows you to make remarkable adjustments to the original photos.

I bought this scanner to digitize my old 35mm slides and it performed well. A warning; you have to make sure the lens at the bottom of the scanner is clean. You must also make sure your slides are clean. The LED screen is small, so you may not be able to pick up a slide that is dirty, damaged, over or under exposed. Your mistake will be evident when transferred to your computer screen and you have to rescan the slide. Overall a great value with good results.

I have tried the ion audio slide converter with good success. Once I got it out of the box and hooked it up, it was easy to use. The results were surprisingly good from film that had sat in boxes in my garage for over twenty five years. I was able to convert several old trips from the 70's to disc with little effort. I have thousands of more slides that I plan to convert when time permits.

I believe I got what I expected. I thought I was going to get an easy was do digitize the 35mm slides and it is easy. One thing that I wasn't worried about when I bought the product was the fact that I could hook it up to the TV. Well, I'm glad that wasn't a selling point for me because it stinks. We couldn't see much, but once I hooked it up to my computer it worked fine. I'm sure I'm not using all the features yet, but I do know there is edit options. I think I prefer to do that on the computer though. Oh, one other negative, but it might have been my mistake, I though the drive that would be inserted would be a usb, not a micro card. But I will work around that. The screen is ok. But I'm sure if I shelled out more $'s it would have been bigger/clearer screen. So I did get what I paid for and I am happy.

I found several boxes of slides in my grandparent's basement last year.Initially I was going to pay $1 per slide to have a company convert the slides.I couldn't afford this,so the slides stayed in the basement until I found a slide/picture/negative scanner at Kohls.Unfortunately it wasn't compatible with my Mac,so I took it back.Glad I did. With this machine, you don't even have to have your computer hooked up to it.I was a little disappointed when I unpacked it.It was lightweight and very plastic(had flashbacks of the kohls disappointment).Glad I got past that. It's awesome.Only complaint is that it got jammed quite a bit when I stacked the slides up in the feeder.Had to feed them slide by slide, but it was worth it.Priceless memories preserved and shared with our whole family:-)

A handy tool to bring a lot of memories to a better format. Anyone can use it and it makes good images. It does require a moment to get the image just right before saving it, but it's only a second or two. The only disappointment was using it on some older slides that had larger images than the 35mm slides that made up most of my collection. The scanner captured just the center of the image on the old ones.

I felt that this device was the best for the money without going overboard. The slide delivery box is still too tight for some of the old slides I will be copying, so I can only do one at a time. That's fine, because I will be sorting as I go and only copying those I really want to save. The picture quality is good, almost too good as it shows every little dust bunny on the slide. I haven't worked with it too much, yet. This will be a Winter project. It isn't the most user friendly, as far as the sequence of buttons to push to get the end product, but I imagine once I am used to it, it will get easier. As I said, I haven't used it too much, but the quality of the capture made my decision for me.
