I ordered three since I have a larger outdoor patio. They are incredibly easy to set up and sync (less than 5 minutes). I positioned them for optimized listening after charging through a power-cord first. Since then, I've listened to music dozens of times outside without any issues. The best part of this outdoor speaker is the fact that it is solar-powered.

I bought 3 of these. The sound quality for each is pretty good. No issues when they link together. I keep having issues w/one (and not consistently the same one) where the pairing doesn't work without reseting the speaker. I have now plugged into power outlets two of the three to make sure it isn't a solar powering issue. This helps as I know I have to power up at some point as solar isn't really doing the job (even after moving into a real sunny area).
I Bluetooth via my iPhone. I am going to purchase both a wifi and bluetooth extender with the hope that this helps but all extra costs that I wasn't prepared to incur.
The linking is also very easy to interrupt. Just walk through 2-speakers and it will interrupt (so again, maybe a BT extender will help).
The other annoying item I still need to solve for is the power-up. It states that you can program them and just say "Power-on" but haven't been able to make it for so I end up usually just powering on one to two due to pure annoyance and laziness of powering them all on.
As an aside, I was a little worried about the quality from an appearance standpoint prior to purchasing these. They are much better and fit in the landscape than expected.

Great sound for yards where you don’t have power. Nice bluetooth. And you can add more speakers. Not bad priced

This speaker has failed on me 50% of the time so far. Its easy to set up via blue tooth, produces decent sound quality and the solar power makes it available to be placed any where. I purchased 6 of them to place around my pool and patio. Unfortunately after the first couple of rains I had to return 3 of them. I followed the instructions and reset all of them but it didn't help. One just wouldn't turn on any more. Another one would turn itself on and off and would not connect via Bluetooth and another one made a horrible loud screeching noise when the music was playing. The rest are currently functioning for now but they tend to sometimes disconnect and reconnect intermittently. All of the speakers are well within Bluetooth range of each other and to the source. I wish they were made of better quality than what I have been experiencing. I tried calling the company's help desk but after a 15 minute hold time I gave up and I returned them to Best Buy. If you have the patience to deal with the pains I have been experiencing then I would suggest you try the product. Maybe you will have better luck. If not then skip it.

Exceeded expectations

This outdoor speaker truly exceeded my expectations. I was not familiar with the ION brand, so wasn't quite sure what to expect, but everything about this speaker is great. We have it near our hot tub and it puts out enough sound to be heard over the jets. The sound is great, much better than I expected, and the weight and sturdiness is better than expected, too. And the best part is that it's solar powered! I highly recommend. I'm buying more as gifts for family members.

Great Idea Works with iPhoneX

Great idea to have a powerful solar powered bluetooth speaker. Smaller than I thought it would be and heavy (8#). According to directions fully charge it before use. I used wall plug (yes it has that option too). Next day it sync'd right up to my iPhoneX and my MacBook Air. Has a blue indicator on back to know it on and charging. I have been using this for a week now and am vey satisfied with it. I plan to buy another when they go on sale, for truck stereo sound.
It does have a good range, but (hint, hint ION), sell a separate subwoofer with it (that has same mulitiple connectivity) and you got an awesome system...
Very satisfied, I love listening to my music via bluetooth for a few evening hours and then letting the sun charge it the next day when I'm at work, so far so great!!!

I would recommend this speaker, sound is good, because of the solar charging I charged it when I set it up and haven't charged it since then. The only negative is that it doesn't have an app so you have to manually turn it on and off.

I bought them so I don’t have to keep bringing my speakers in and out of the house. They connect and one speaker sounds great but the other sounds like it goes in and out. But I like that they connect, solar n bluetooth.

These are good speakers, however, after having them for only nine months, two of them do not work any longer. After examination, we noticed that water got inside of them. How that happened we do not know, as there are no cracks or openings on it. That should not happen if they are designed to be outside!

The sound and dynamics are good for the price. The volune goes pretty loud and holds its quality well.
My biggest disappointment has been how long the battery lasts... the best we have gotten is 7 hrs of use before it starts signaling low battery. The Q&A said up to 35hrs... we get 20% of that!
3 stars for ease of use, dynamic sound and volume. Lose a big 2 stars due to the poor duration of the batteries

Great outdoor speaker

I bought these a year ago and have really enjoyed them. I bought 6 because we have a rather large area to cover around our patio and pool. One of them did quit (after a year) but the 5 remaining are still working great. This year I added the Ion Tiki Sounds speaker lanterns (4), which pair up nicely to the Solar Rocks. They give us a nice path light at night and still provide sound to that area. On work of advice on the ION rock speakers: the ION Solar Glow speakers do not pair with these nor the lanterns and are not of the quality of these. I have 2 of them as well.

Great solar option but sound/connectivity average

Did the initial charge and they’ve kept up with several hours of use via solar very well.
They have an average sound. No real highs and no real bass. Makes sense considering it’s an average car door speaker. I bought two and the sound covers the small back yard pool area we use it for.
The problem is that when you link them, they have sound connection lag. The “master” speaker has zero issues connecting and playing. It’s the speaker you “link” that has interruptions. I thought I had a bad speaker but I’ve swapped the roles and it follows to the “linked” speaker. It’s been such a recent purchase I’m still considering returning them.
One speaker: you’ll feel satisfied with the solar option and sound for the money.
Two or more: might not be as happy.

Speaker is great for pool areas and the solar capability makes it an ease to operate. Friends and family connect to it via bluetooth without the need to run an electrical cord.

Love this mobile rock speaker! Bought it for a backyard family gathering and I also use it when I'm just outside hanging out with my dogs or watering my backyard. Its crystal clear and loud sound is awesome! Solor charging is great and it does come with a power cord also if needed. I leave it outside 24/7 to keep it charging. Never had a problem with the connection, it turns on from my bluetooth on my phone instantly. I recommend this speaker 100%.

This is a great Spring/Summer addition to our patio and fire pit area. It links via Bluetooth to a phone and has great sound quality. This speaker can also be linked to other speakers, allowing for larger areas to be covered.

I bought one of these based on just a handful of YouTube reviews. Out of the box I was quite impressed. Put it in the yard and did some yard work and really was impressed with the sound. I’m preparing to have a pool installed soon, so decided to buy a second speaker to make it a pair. That’s where my 3 star rating comes in. Playing music through one speaker at a time works flawlessly. Sounds awesome. Pairing two together sounds good...for a short time. The connection between the two speakers cuts out constantly. I tried swapping which speaker was the primary speaker. No good. I put my audio source right next to the speaker, thinking it needed to be closer. Still no good. It seemed anytime a person walked anywhere the speaker, one would cut out. Then it just became spotty randomly. I’ve decided to not try and pair the speakers regularly and will probably just ru. One at a time and use the other as a backup or in another spot in the yard. Wish that feature would have worked out better. Paired together and working, these speakers sounded awesome.

I have two ION Audio Solar Rock Wireless Outdoor Speakers. The wireless is only consistent to about 50 feet. The sound quality is very good but not great. I found there was a delay echo when using the connect feature so I now use to main connections. Accordingly, I decided not to buy two more for around the pool. The solar charger seems to keep the unit satisfactorily charged.
