Love this remote. I looked at it for months. It is expensive, but they are a small company. It was easy to set up, the unit works really well. I just needed it to control the SONOS zone feeding my pool speakers. The magnetic Decora mount was perfect as I had a spot available where I wanted it. What problem did it solve? I wanted on/off and volume control outside without my iPhone which overheats in the sun. This is the only product on the market which solely provides this capability. The Lutron Caseta system might work as well but I would have had to spend much more.

The issue with this is even though they say you can create a group to play it is not reliable. Otherwise the remote can only pair to 1 device. I wanted to be able to play any Sonos favorite with 1 push and it would play the whole house. It caused all kinds of dropouts of speakers and half the time wouldn't even start the Play. You can only create 1 scene that plays a group of speakers.
The other big miss is there is no track back button, only forward. Big miss.
Could be because my Sonos setup uses the Sonos Net instead of each speaker on wi-fi for reliability, but it worked sporadically.
Also, have to push and hold a button to constantly wake it up before you could give it a command was ridiculous.
For this price needs work. I returned it.
I can do the same thing it does (or does not do) with my Amazon Echo system. But Amazon has same issue with not being able to start a group of speakers but only one.

Good Sonos Speaker Remote

Great for controlling high wall (or ceiling) mounted Sonos speakers, like I placed in my Garage. Also great for Sonos speakers placed in “out-of-the-way” locations. Very convenient when your cell phone (with Sonos App) is not readily available to control the speaker. Can also configure multiple remotes to control same speaker in case you want remotes in multiple locations.

App doesn't work

You have to download an app on iOS to set up the remote. The app crashed on the same step everytime I tried to set up the remote. There is no other way to set it up. According to reviews on the App Store, the app has not been updated for iOS 14. I'm not sure this product is being supported anymore. I returned it.

Pointless and Terrible Device

This thing is terrible. Do not purchase. It only works if it is fully charged, and then, only works for about an hours - then nothing. So my day consists of continuingly having to charge this stupid remote. Pointless.
Far easier to just use the Sonos App directly on my phone.

Amazing addition for sonos setup

This thing is amazing. You can set scenes (e.g. group x, y, and z speaker and turn on this channel) which can be activated with a single button push, and if you like to change the channel constantly to find the perfect song (I drive people crazy with how much I change channels) you can just shuffle through your favorite channels with another push of a button; I read somewhere that it only holds 3 favorites, perhaps that's an old firmware as I have over 30 loaded.
I'm really surprised by how much I like this thing. I almost returned it before opening it because I found an app called Macronos for your phone that essentially does the same thing (I was sick of having to open the sonos app every time), but this remote is even better (I still recommend getting that app because it's $4 and using shortcuts is so much better than using the sonos app). Prior to this remote I noticed myself using sonos less because I was too lazy to open the app and deal with grouping, channel (loading siriusxm internet channels always takes a few seconds), volume, blah blah, and this remote just makes me re-love my sonos all over again.
The price is a bit wacky for what it is, but if you own Sonos equipment and accessories, you should be used to airport pricing.
Only major downfall is the ios requirement. I have an android, but had an old ipad laying around, so I used it for setup. I should never need the app again unless I want to change my favorite scene or favorite channels, which I'll rarely do so for me it's a little obnoxious, but not at all a deal breaker.

Nice Hardware, Excellent Support, HORRID iOS Need

Lets start with the hardware. It's a pretty neat control and includes a magnetic or wall-mount cradle. Pretty cool. Its easy to use, simple... No complaints.
Here is the problem... It requires Apple iOS to program. We are not only a non-Apple house, but truth be told, we have NEVER had a good experience with ANY Apple software. That said, when we first got this unit, we used an ipad issued from the kids school. Everything was great for 8 months until for some mysterious reason, it stopped working.
I looked on-line ot the IPort website and the instructions on the light sequence were pretty straight forward, BUT they did not reflect the way the remote lights were flashing.
Here is where this device and company gets an excellent and well deserved 5 star rating... I sent an e-mail to their support desk on a Saturday afternoon... Knowing they were closed until Tuesday (Monday was a holiday), I recieved a call back late Tuesday morning from a very nice, professional, respectful and knowledgeable tech named Tommy. After explaining the lighting sequence, he said he was not familiar with that sequence but would get back with me. Within 2 hours, I got a call back from Brian (Tommy was on break) and again, he was very courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He told me exactly what needed to be done. The only problem was that it would sadly require an iOS device to complete. I told him that we had an older iPad from when my wife attended Paramedic school so she could promote from firefighter to Firefighter/Paramedic. He also gave me his direct number (as did Tommy previously) and told me what we needed to do once we had the iOS device charged. He said please feel free to call back at any time for any assistance. It was a FANTASTIC support experience.
Well, here is where things went from OK to absolutely horrible (and it was not at all related to iPort, but instead all related to yucky iOS...
We charged her iPad and powered it up. Sure enough as both Tommy and Brian told us, it would need to be updated to iOS 10 or better. OK, should be easy enough, no? Well, NO, it was not. We did a quick search and the instructions were pretty universal... Tap Settings > General > Software Update then click on INstall and Download... Well problem is that the Install and DOwnload was greyed out. No idea why. It's Apple and that kind of crayy stuff happens ALL THE TIME when we deal wit apple...
So our bext research path told us to update via itunes. Uugghhh. So we went to itunes to update it, but we couldn't because itunes said we first needed to update my wife's Apple ID. OK, I guess no problem, until... Apple ID could not update until we First updated Apple itunes. Circular firing squad, but for us, I guess it's to be expected from Apple's horrid software.
After 30 minutes of research, we finally were able get into one of the systems to update, then several minutes later were ready to update the other, but... It now demanded that to move forward, we had to update our payment information. Fair enough, should be simple, right? NOPE. After we entered our payment information it told us the expiration date range needed to be between 2019 and 2029... Well we entered expiration of 2022 and in classic Apple fashion, it kept telling us expiration needed to be be between 2019 and 2029... Well DDUUHHH! Finally got it and now we had another series of errors one after another.
5.5 hours later, we were able to get it updated and re-program the remote.
In all, if you are not an Apple house, beware. They are apparently working on Android and Windows apps, but they are not ready yet. If you can wait on the Android app, it might be worth the wait to avoid the shining jewel of absurdity that Apple seems to introduce to everything.
Final note, iPort support (as previously mentioned) was great.

Big waste of time. Can't use this unless you have Apple products.
