Customers are saying

Customers regard the Roomba e5's cleaning performance, ease of use, and pet hair removal capabilities very positively. However, some users express concerns about its navigation system, noise level, and battery life. The small dustbin size is also a recurring point of feedback. While many appreciate its suction and dirt pickup, improvements in certain areas could enhance the overall user experience.

I’m pretty impressed with the Roomba. I love that I can control it from the app and I just let it run around the house. It cleans pretty well too. The only complaint is sometimes it get stuck on the small bump or it cleans the same spot multiple times.

Very noisy, but cleans well, I have a dog that sheds a lot which was causing my allergies to flare up constantly, now I program the Roomba to circulate for about 1 hour daily and I am managing my allergies a lot better.

    Great For Hard Floors

New condo... getting a handle on routine maintenance. With low-angle light I noticed some dust on the floor. How to deal with this: traditional vacuum, Swiffer, or robot vacuum? The first two are labor intensive to a point; the latter is requires minimal repetitive effort. Price is far less than than the more 'smart' models. Sacrifice for lower price is random pattern versus structured 'smart' vacuuming pattern. Mine is used for @1000sqft of hardwood/laminate mix in living room, dining room, and kitchen, (no carpet other than some non-plush accent rugs). I turn it on and let it do its thing. No fuss other than occasionally gets stuck at bottom of refrigerator (easy fix). Once you learn where it gets stuck and make adjustments to mitigate, it becomes a no-worry process. I find that with 1000sqft the e5's random pattern is sufficient to clean the entire area in one 90+ minute battery cycle. For a larger area perhaps the more efficient 'smart' pattern becomes important. As for sound level, it's no quiet but it's also not loud; go watch TV or whatever and you'll never notice anyway. I would buy again. I would recommend the e5 for a moderately sized zone, i.e. 1000sqft or so - maybe a little larger as well? If your zone is perhaps larger than 1000-1200sqft then you may want to run twice and hope to get every area. Alternatively you could select a more expensive model with a more efficient 'smart' pattern; this would guarantee coverage of a larger zone. Your mileage may vary.

I would have to vacuum everyday without this! The Roomba e5 is great! It cleans my living room rug very well, and hardly ever gets stuck. My only complaint is how loud it is. I recommend running it when you aren't watching TV or when you are not home.

Let's mention the good stuff first, smart, easy to configure it, not pretty noisy as other brands and easy to clean, but stuff, it get stuck so easy, sometimes it doesn't come back home, it doesn't really memorize the layout of the house, so perhaps a little bit cheaper will be great

I have fallen in love with the robot vacuum. My husband and I chose this one to try. We truly did not expect much out of it and figured it would be a nice way to refresh areas until we got around to vacuuming ourselves since we don’t have a maid. This has exceeded expectations. We have a mixture of hardwood, laminate and carpet. We have been pleased overall with all three surfaces. It’s not perfect and we did not expect perfect. My biggest challenge has been the kitchen table. We pull the chairs out now so that this does not get stuck under the table. This does not replace you vacuuming 100%. We still have to do the stairs every now and then so we pull out the old fashioned vacuum and do the job ourselves. We love the ease of use, the price is fair for what we got and it does a great job refreshing each room. We do not use the schedules because we do walk through the room before turning it on to pick up anything it might get tangled in like phone cords. Nice to get it done while I go take a walk with a friend or cook a meal.

I love my roomba. I have hardwood floors and it does a great job getting all the dirt and stuff off the floor. Only thing I dont like and I wish I would've went with the 960 so it maps out my house so I can tell it to clean a specific room

I got this for my daughter after her old iroomba quit. I bought this for her dog, shed terrible. This one is specifically for pets. She was amazed how good it works. It has a rubber roller,so no more dog hair stuck in roller bristles. So easy to clean as well. We can set it to run or tell Alexa. Very happy with this one!

I have a bad back and 2 dogs and a cat. One of my dogs sheds sooo much it’s crazy. My wood floors looked like hell most of the time. 3 times a week my Roomba vacuums and floors look good all of the time. Was skeptical about buying this because I had a Roomba about 12 yrs ago and didn’t work that great! This model ROCKS!!! Great purchase!!!!!

I love my vacuum! It’s so much better than a previous off brand that I had. I like that you can operate it from your phone. Sometimes it gets stuck on very simple things but I am so glad I got this vacuum!!!!

The E5 does a great job! It bounces around but eventual gets everything. It’s has no problem transitioning from carpet to hardwood and it’s does great with both. The trash bin size is ok but the next step up from this model would be great since it empties it’s on bin.

I had to replace my previous Roomba. I bought this model. The unit seems to be more powerful. It has a much bigger bin and longer battery life. It also has some kind of feature that directs it away from stairs. There are probably other features that are just as great, but the features mentioned are outstanding to me. The trade off is that it is quite a bit louder. But this trade off is worth it given the pros mentioned. I would strongly recommend buying the 2 year warranty as my previous unit only lasted a year. Despite this, I do not believe it to be a bad product or brand. The more electronic parts, the greater the need for a warranty plan. A robotic vacuum—totally worth it.

The only downside to this product is when you first get it. It'll get stuck sometimes and not be able to find the home base while it's mapping out your home. It cleans very well though and gets stuff you didn't know was there! Make sure you check the dirt trap as it will fill a lot the first few times you use it. Overall fantastic product and works way better than anticipated!!!

It is a robotic vacuum, runs itself around the house so I don't have to do it. This thing does a great job picking up dog hair too. Only downside is having to empty the dust collection pan after every use.

The e5 Roomba cleans the tile floors exceptionally well. Lighter throw rugs need to be removed as they will get caught up in the vacuum, but that is to be expected. Cat and dog hair is no match for the Roomba. I am very happy with my purchase, as I have had less expensive vacuums that can't match the e5's performance.

We got our iRobot e5 for the main floor of our home. We have hardwood floors and area rugs that the e5 did great with, but the e5 “bounces” around the room For a set amount of time and worked fine for a single room. We traded up to an i7 to have the ability to use Mapping for each room. We can tell it to go to any particular room and it will do that job. It also does it in a systematic way (single lines back and forth) it can tell when the surface is clean and will return to its dock. Th e5 would be fine for a small home with only a few rooms. Both do great with pet hair.

This vacuum is quite the workhorse and does great in my two bedroom apartment. The vacuum cleans for about 1 - 1.5 hours, moving in a randomized patter across the floors. The randomized pattern wouldn’t seem effective, but it does cover the entire surface area and the robot recognizes when it needs to edge up along the walls and around furniture. The vacuum has unique polyurethane brushes underneath and a rapid spinning side brush to get the walls and corners. This can go from wood to carpet easily (as long as the carpet isn’t too raised or, the carpet is not too dark) **You do have to “roomba proof” your home to get the best response. This means picking up loose phone cords and keeping the floor clear of debris that could get caught in the suction. **The robot has a hard time with dark carpet. Roomba will not clean if the rug is black, high shag, or any other difficult surface. Works with Alexa and can be scheduled. Overall it’s a great purchase for anyone with a small to medium apartment, wanting to clean without actually having to do anything.

I was skeptical originally when I was asked by my wife to shop around for a robot vacuum. Of course the name has been around for quite sometime so if it wasn't worth it I imagine it would have been sorted out on its own. Decided to give the e5 a try. The biggest challenge for the unit is keeping up with the labrador 'tumble weeds' that form from his fluff. I find that using the device about once every other day saves me from having to do a deep sweep and mop every week to about twice a month or once a month. This little thing keeps on going and can hold alot. I was surprised to find that it almost compacts debris in the container so although small, it can actually hold quite a lot. I am tempted to get another unit to take care of the upstairs, but we will see! ***CAUTION*** it has no mercy for power cords, it stripped back some of the insulation on a laptop power cord (my fault, not the unit) just be mindful of what is around the floor when setting it loose to attack dirt!

This cleaner helps keep my wooden floors clean. Originally got it to help with my pet’s hairs and it does wonders. Only downside I would say is, this product was a bit louder then what I thought, but overall great product.
