    Consider Samsung SmartThings instead

While the iSmartAlarm system was functional, the biggest issue I had with it was that there are almost no devices that work with it other than the few that were in the Premier bundle. I ended up returning it and buying the Samsung SmartThings bundle instead. The iSmartAlarm is OK if all you want are door/window sensors and an alarm (not very loud). The Samsung SmartThings give you all that plus lets you control lights, various Wifi thermostats, a Wifi deadbolt and a growing list of IoT products made by several different manufacturers (ex. Nest, Honeywell, Cree, GE, etc.). I would sum up the iSmartAlarm as a "dead-end" product.

False alarms, going off and back online to many times. Sometimes multiple times in the same day. No I would not recommend it and I would not buy it again. I'm very disappointed with this product. If I can figure out a way to return it I will!

This product is overpriced junk. The decibels on the alarm are very low and the support from the company is non-existent. I returned the item.

    Best Internet Connected Security System

I am so glad I purchased this over the other brands. It was at a good price and all additional accessories can be purchased without breaking your wallet. You also get occasional coupons in the app to purchase accessories from their website. +This system is very easy to install and pair sensors +Has good range to all paired sensors +Sensors are of good quality, small in size and so far battery has been great. +Has tons of settings for different modes such as Home, Away or you can even make your own +You can set the delay to arm/disarm just like ADT +Provided iSpot Camera works flawlessly although it was quite a trouble to get it connected. I feel like this was an isolated incident but once it paired, it works flawlessly +Camera detects motion and can either send alerts to your phone or sound the alarm and so does the motion sensor +Camera has good night vision quality and detection. It detected moving lights from cars coming in to the room. +Software provides free cloud storage for videos +Sensors blink every time they detect motion or doors open/close +Notifications on every single contact operation +If the alarm is sounded, you get notifications and an automated phone call +A keypad to arm/disarm is now available on the website I hope they stay in business and keep improving on this product.

I've done my homework and found this product by far and away is in its own category. An entire security system, PLUS a camera, and best of all, no fees, period. All for one price that's less than what'd I pay Vivent or ADT just to rent out their equipment for a couple months? I don't know how these guys do it. On top of that, it only took me less than 10 minutes to get this up and running. Just buy it, you won't regret it.

    Best DIY Home Security System

In my opinion it's the best DIY security system anybody can buy these days. Super simple to set up and if you ever have any questions there's an easy to understand and friendly contact support center. Their cameras are great, I'm just waiting for some outdoor models to come out. In a few months they will have a new "Pro" indoor camera that has motion tracking and other neat features built in. I would definitely recommend this to a friend or family member!

    Best DIY Security System

I always want to have a security system for my home, but I don't want to pay the monthly fee. I searched around and finally settled down on iSmartAlarm. They have all the sensors I need and a camera. Setup is easy and the app is intuitive. There could be some improvements in the app but overall I am pretty satisfied with this purchase.

    Love it!

It is a must buy! I got this bundle at Best Buy for $160 on sale. What a deal! The alarm system is great and very responsive. I receive a push notification, a text message and a phone call every time the alarm triggers. This bundle comes with the main system (cube), three contact sensors, one motion sensor and a camera. The cube is sexy looking (lol). It is the brain and the siren of the alarm. The only con about this piece is that is it not very loud. It will be a joke for a burglar breaking into your house. Now, iSmart Alarm sells a satellite siren extension ($30 on Amazon). You can connect as many as you want to the cube and place one at each corner of your house. What a difference. My wife jumps every time this little box triggers. This will scare anyone breaking in for sure. I have no complaint about the contact sensors and the motion sensor. Those work really well. Of course, the motion sensor can only reach up to a certain distance. I will say roughly 30 feet. I can already see myself buying one more for my two-bedroom condo. The camera is good. It is completely high definition (720). It is night vision ready. The camera is supposed to detect the fire and carbon monoxide alarm but I have not tested this feature. I have it set up to detect sound and motion. The sound sensor is very good. I receive a notification even if a car passes by and honks. The motion sensor on the camera is a little sucky. I have to literally dance in front of the camera for iSmart to send me a motion notification. But who cares, you have a VERY responsive motion sensor installed (comes with the bundle). If the camera does not detect motion, the independent sensor will. No worries. The main use for the camera is for you see what is going on in case the alarm triggers. With the right set up, you can take pictures and record videos from anywhere using your cellphone app. This is great for police documentation, insurance, etc. BEST OF ALL... No monthly fees. Keep in mind, you are your own 911 operator. Someone breaks into your house, it is your job to call the local authorities upon the notification from the iSmart Alarm main server. I would say run and buy it. You will love it. The app is very good also. It crashes sometimes but it is not enough to annoy you. I forgot to mention that you can control it with Amazon Alexa and even control appliances with the right extensions (iSmart Outlets, etc).

    Very happy with this purchase

After much research I decided the best fit for our needs was the iSmartAlarm system. I compared dozens of similar products but all seem to have a monthly service fee and those that had an optional service fee provided less features and capabilities without the monthly service fee. For our needs we simply did not need a "monitoring service" I'm fully capable of checking via camera what's going on and making the decision to involve the authorities myself. Installation was very simple. Peel and stick the door sensors and simple screw mount for the motion sensors. Within minutes my entire system was in place. Less than 30 minutes I had a fully functional monitoring system. Combined with IFTTT I am able to automate arming and disarming when we leave and arrive. For the money this system can't be beat.

    Speakers and key tags

speakers & Key tags wear out batteries fast. If you plan of leaving for awhile don't expect speakers to be working when you get home. don't expect to get into your house without your iphone. key tag batteries are only lasting a couple of days and also key tags are poorly designed because there is no protection of buttons - so when in pocket it is draining battery. I emailed them and they won't help.

Poor software funcionalities and area restricted

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought the system to use in Brazil. For my surprise, it does not work here just because you must have a US phone number to activate it. If you just use one time a US number, you can activate it and it keep working normally. So, what´s the point of that restriction ? Well, other thing that bothers me is the poor funcionalities on the software. It cant silence just one door sensor, for instance, or can set up the sensors actions differently.

    Great system , horrible app

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The system is almost perfect but the app is a joke. If you are thinking who cares about the app if the system is great, think again. You can only control the system through the app and good luck with this. It is installed in 3 different phones, I rarely was able to log in and manage the system. Today I have armed the system , then the application crashed again and when I had to go back into the house I had to run and unplug the device to prevent the system from triggering the alarm. Another flaw of the system, the bad guy comes in, the alarm starts counting before it goes off, the bad buy unplugs it and that's the end of it.....you get a text like 40 minutes later that the system is off!! Even if the alarm goes off its not loud enough to scare anybody. I would still keep it though if it wasn't for the problematic app, before I get this I looked the reviews for the product not the reviews for the app in the google play store which are pretty bad.

    Not a complete package

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This package/bundle does not include the remote tag, so you have to buy it separately. Without the remote, you have to use your phone to disable a triggered alarm within 10 seconds before it starts screeching. The package we purchased last year included the remote, which we kept in a convenient location, so when the sensors are accidentally triggered it is easy for any family member to disarm the alarm before the screeching siren starts blasting. The remote is an essential, necessary, component for this system. iSmart knows you will need it and you will have to pay extra to purchase one from them.

    Mediocre at Best

I wanted to like this thing, I just couldn't. From the moment I opened the box and pulled out the base station and heard some unknown pieces parts jingling around inside it, I knew the build quality was going to be poor...and it was. The whole thing feels like it was made in someone's garage. When the spot cam turns on, some chinese characters show up, when ismart calls some smoker voiced bro speaks, the app feels like it was made and released in an hour, the door open/close chime sounds like a 7-eleven and it cannot be changed. It just isn't very polished or reliable. Often I'd set it to arm when I left for work only to find when I returned, the app would still show disarmed. I gave this thing a go but in the end couldn't wait to return it. I moved on to a smart device hub as they are more versatile and can perform security duties.
