I bought this “just in case.” Just in case i need an additional port of some sort & good thing that i did. At first i just wanted to connect my monitor to my laptop via a single USB-C where the GPU is located, but not before long my laptop was running out of usable ports. The J5 adapter remedied that issue easily. Monitor connected, as well as my controller, headphone amp, and whatever else I decide to connect to the J5. Sometimes less is more, but in this case, the more ports the merrier.

I used this to connect my Steinberg USB DAW USB, Ethernet, Monitor (HDMI), USB keyboard and mouse to my brand new iPad Pro. Love this thing! I can run Logic Pro and use all of my resources as well as have it still charge the iPAD! That is huge!

Gives me most of the ports I needed for my 15” MacBook Air. The reason for the 4 stars is because it was more expensive than it should have been!

Its decently reliable, although the ethernet port kept dropping connection, so I decided to stop using it and just use wifi. The reason for 3 stars is that it gets incredibly hot. To the point that I'm sure it will burn out in next 6-9 mo. I expect some heat but this thing gets cooking.

The adapter is built with compactness and portability in mind, it is expected to observe that the aluminum shell of the USB-C hub gets warmer, especially if the USB-C pass-through charging and/or all ports on the hub are utilized. Please note that hotter operating temperatures can be expected. As for the Ethernet issue, please test with another Ethernet cable and Ethernet port on your router. Power-off your networking hardware for approximately 30 seconds then power it back on. Or renew the DHCP lease.

The only thing I don’t like is the length of the cable. For an iPad Pro the port sits off the table. But everything else is awesome. It has three USB ports with one of them being a powered port. Something you don’t see a lot. The other thing I like a lot is it has a small and big memory card port for my camera downloads. This would definitely be good for a laptop. It just sits to high for the iPad

The dongle works, bit gets really waram to the touch even while you’re not chargong through it. Now sure how long it will last with the extra heat on the components. As of know, outsides of the excess heat, so far so good!!

Good amount of ports. I was able to fit a mouse and keyboard dongle, charge my phone and plug in an ethernet cable comfortably. But two things: 1)the cable is short so when I had my laptop raised, so the adapter dangled. 2) The adapter gets really hot, not sure if it's supposed to do that but within minutes the top and bottom were hot to touch. All the ports and things connected still worked fine

Good value as it has so many ports for usb sd cards lightning cable. The only downside is that the cable is so short so it doesn’t look like it actually is made for my iMac. But that’s only an appearance issue. It does seem to create and hold considerable heat to the touch. Overall though I’m satisfied with the product.

Hello Reecemo, we appreciate your feedback on the device. We try to keep our host cable connections at a respectable length to avoid signal degradation. Adapters emit some heat as a normal part of its operation but the body should never become too hot to handle. If you have any concerns, our contact information is available through j5create.com under the "Support" tab. Respectfully, j5

This adapter was a bit on the spendy side but I have no regrets. I researched cheaper ones and most reviews said they either had problems with it or it stopped working altogether after so long of use. I've had this one for 10 months and with regular use it still works just as perfectly as the day I purchased it. Definitely worth the price and just what I needed to connect my drawing tablet to my MacBook

This works great on Mac and I have it for almost a year. Reason why I give 4 instead of 5 is because it always gets hot every time I use my mouse.

I bought his to go with my new Samsung 9Pro laptop. It works great for that, but it would be better if it had a longer lead. I feel like it should be able to rest maybe 4-5 feet away so as not to hang off the side and warp the C/Thunderbolt socket. Also, as it turns out, you can use it to connect your iPhone or USB-C to your TV (in case you don't have wi-fi but you DO have LTE data) and stream your phone to your TV via the HDMI sockets. (This works with phones, but not with tablets.) I would recommend this to a person who just got a new Samsung laptop because there just aren't many USB-C peripherals yet.

I use it to connect and external camera, mic and a large widescreen monitor for my Macbook. It works well, everything is seamless (plug and play) but it gets VERY hot for what its worth. I don't leave it unattended too long because of this but it has functioned without issue daily for almost a year so far.

This has the following ports: HDMI, 2 USB 3, USB fast charging, USB C, & Ethernet. I bought it for the extra USB 3 ports as my new laptop only had one of those ports. It’s a little on the expensive side, but I had some reward dollars that I used. It works great, but it can get a little hot if you have it connected to your laptop for extended periods of time.
