Works well for the price - Macbook Pro 2019 User

I have a MacBook Pro 2019 currently running Big Sur 11.5.2 (spec screenshot posted)
Pros:
- Works with 3 displays as advertised
- All ports are functional
- Slick low-key design with optional choice as to which side you want to connect to a free USB C port on your laptop (which is amazingly convenient design honestly)
- Portable in a backpack if needed
- Best product for this price range (trust me I've looked) You can't find a cheaper dock that has up to 3 external monitor ports plus all the additional ports with this slick design.
Cons/Constructive criticism :
- Frame rate does drop dramatically from time while connected to external monitors (every 15-30 mins) only lasts for a few seconds but is noticeable for a faster/more experienced computer user
- It does get very hot as expected- even the USB ports get extremely hot (which I never experienced touching a hot USB after long periods of use)
- Sucks the battery life out of laptop (have to keep plugged in to power source at all times) which doesn't bother me too much since I WFH so not going anywhere with my external monitors!
-Software is a bit of a pain to get up and running, as per the instructions they help greatly, however they fail to mention that the "DJTVirtualDisplayAgent" driver towards the last steps (attached below) only appears when you have more than 2 monitors setup, at least for me it only appeared as a configuration option once I connected my 3rd Monitor. (which I just thought was odd, but should be mentioned in setup instructions attached below) Also note that I was able to run 2 monitors (laptop and 1 external HDMI) without the DJT software installed.
TLDR:
Overall great product for the price, does as advertised. If you want something better prepare to drop double what this item costs (really is not a middle ground that I have found with number of ports/slick hidden design)

We appreciate the time you took to write a review on the docking Station. The HDMI, VGA and Mic requires drivers and the HDMI or DP and all others ports are Plug n Play. Thank you and have a nice day, Jersians.

After reading the reviews, I purchased this and, kudos to Best Buy, paid a small amount and it was delivered several hours after ordering it. I have an HP for my personal laptop, and a Lenovo for work, both less than six months old.
The instructions are lite, and don't match their current webpage, but it was easy to figure out: don't plug it in, download the driver, use the admin to install, reboot with it plugged in and update the firmware.
Why only four stars? "USB device not recognized. The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it."
I can understand the "use our charging device" message, but the drivers should take care of Windows.
Ticket submitted. I will update with their response.

This was a great product. Worked flawlessly right when I plugged it in. Was able to connect two 27" monitors (one both by HDMI), USB webcam, usb keyboard, usb mouse, wired printer, and power to my device, all by plugging the USB-C cord into my laptop.
It was a seamless experience! The only issue I had was actually with my second computer, which had a USB-C port, but did not support display through that port. I should have done better research first. I ended up upgrading my computer about 2 weeks later, which is the only reason I ended up returning this product.

I recently had to replace two computers that I used to have a lot of multiple displays running simultaneously. Since I have two external displays that I wanted to be able to use as a power user, this docking station was a great purchase. I was able to connect two external displays as well as all of my external hard disks to my laptop which expedited the process of performing system backups. I connected two displays to my laptop via HDMI through the dock which also frees up my internal HDMI port on my laptop itself for a fourth display if needed. (My laptop has 64GB of DDR5 RAM so it can handle the workload.) I am an IT student, preparing for a career as a networking administrator/computer technician and I often run multiple programs simultaneously. This docking station triples my workspace and allows me to attach all of my external hard disks to my system simultaneously which gives me a lab in my home.

For a long time I was looking for a portable docking station that I could use to connect my portable drives, charge my laptop and be multi-purpose. I found j5create - USB-C Triple Display Docking Station and I don't regret having bought it.

Useful, but Clumsy Form Factor Limits it

I got this on Christmas Eve on the same last-minute out-of-town shopping trip that I got the Bose Revolve+ II Bluetooth Speaker, because I needed some way to connect my non-USB-C peripherals to a USB-C port on my recently-purchased M1 MacBook Pro. It's designed by j5create to be used with a laptop, as the slight upward slant is meant to provide airflow under the laptop and provide passive cooling - and if I'd ordered a 15.6" laptop, and didn't already have an active fan laptop cooler, maybe that would've worked. As it is, though, it's a bit clumsy for my purposes....
It's also more for gamers or people who work with multiple monitors, which I do not, having not one but TWO 30 Hz at 4K (60 Hz at 1080p) HDMI ports, one DisplayPort with the same specs, and a VGA port for those of us who check into hotels with older digital televisions or are stuck at Mom's house where she's been using the same CRT monitor she bought back in the 1990s! For those of us a bit more up-to-date there's also a three USB 3.0 Type A ports, a USB-C output port and a second USB-C port that can handle a charger of up to 100 watts for running your laptop and peripherals; SD and MicroSD card readers...oh, and a RJ-45 Ethernet jack because most laptops don't bother with them any more!
It's an extremely capable dock, if only its form factor wasn't so clunky....

This product works as advertised and I really like the sleek design, as opposed to some of the more bulky versions from other brands. I use it for my lap-top and various peripherals, like a larger monitor, speakers, microphone and back-up disc. I can rest my laptop on top of the station and it makes for very compact and well organized workspace without lots of wires & cables.

This is a good solution for laptops with few ports. The only problem is that the laptop can slide off the device. To solve this problem, I got an inexpensive laptop holder with turned up edges that prevent the laptop from sliding down and which put the laptop at a higher angle, which I prefer.

The docking station has enough input options for me to set up my work from home desk station, which is exactly what I was looking for. I think the long rectangular shape is a bit odd though. Because the power input to plug into your laptop is on the right side, you may have to toss and turn it depending on how many laptops you want to use it for and what sides the input would need to go on. I wish the cord would be in the middle and be a bit longer so my workstation could be the same for both my work laptop and PC.

I bought this back on November 21st. It is Dec. 20th. So, I’ve had it almost a full month. I work as a public school teacher from home. This little decide is amazing! I can hook-up three monitors and still have my laptop. It extends the monitors and duplicates them. You can also close the laptop and work solely on the monitors themselves. I made sure my laptop and monitors were compatible with the docking station, before I made the purchase. Go to en.j5create.com website to see which style you need for your laptop. I highly recommend this item. Very pleased. It comes with no warranty (from Best Buy). However, within 6 month of purchase you can get warranty for your dock from j5create (just use the website I shared earlier). The only down side is that it does not “attach” to the bottom of the laptop. It only “holds” onto the laptop via the connection through the USB-C port. So, just be careful if you have to move it around. I just got the basic one. There is another version with the dual 4K workstation. I am supper happy. Now, I can focus on my students more and the technology less.

Covid hit. I was stuck working from home. I had two monitors and not enough USB-C ports.
This allowed me to connect two monitors, my speakers, my HD camera, my keyboard, and an SSD drives while charging it. There is even a port for Ethernet that I use to ensure my meetings are smooth.
This is a must need for WFH setups.

Hello, Many people are working from home these days. Working on a laptop without extra monitors and other peripherals can really reduce productivity. Adding a docking station and peripheral devices can turn a laptop into a full-on workstation and make working much easier. Thank you for your review. Cheers, j5create
