Lets skip to the good parts here.. Sound and fit are the top two things that more important than anything. After a life of earphones from sony, sennheiser, master snd dynamics, and plenty of others..I have decided to sell or give away every single earphone I have and keep only these because of their fit and sound quality. The bass is so rich and accurately fast when you adjust the EQ. The Mids are even better than 90% pr more of the earphones out there. And the highs are perfectly crisp without overly doing it. And when you fit them into your ears ...you forget they are there. They when vents that prevent cabin pressure from building inside your ears and head ..which some people like the new Sonys left out of their product. So wearing these for over 2 or 3 hours is no problem whatsoever. The icing on the cake is amazing battery life and perfect ANC that rivals even Airpods. And then for icecream you get the very best app and features customization ever found on any earphone ever relessed. Bottom line people at this sales price of $170 these are easily the best overall earphone on the market today at any price.

I've had these for over a year now and figured I'd add my $.02 - I really appreciate how easily these connect to various devices (up to 2 at a time). The app makes it easy to control the various modes and features, or check the battery levels. ANC works very well, and call quality is good. Sound wise they are pretty good, but they don't blow me away. They are comfortable and stay in the ear well when running. I knocked off 1 star because for some reason when using these for Teams meetings on my laptop they die really fast (under an hour). For other platforms (zoom etc) and listening to music i typically get around 5 hours.

The Jabra Elite 85 + ear buds were easy to unpack and get going to set up. The firmware update did take long time to update than typically what I'm used to. Still no big deal. I love the way they fit in my ear and stay in place if I'm running or on the go shopping etc. These are lite weight to me and forget they are even in. The sound is crisp and clear. The bass is tight and overall presence is well balanced. I can also lower the volume easily by clicking left button and holding it down. The phone call clarity is clear and background noise is minimal. The battery life is very impressive. These are very impressive to me and would highly recommend when your in the market for good set of earbuds.

The jabre elite 85t earbuds are the best set of earbuds that I have found after an exhaustive search. My search for the perfect headphones has led me to try just about every one of it's competitors--Samsung Galaxy buds pro, Samsung Galaxy buds live, Beats powerbeats pro, Sony WF-SP800N, Apple airpods pro, and Bose SoundSport--before finally settling on the Jabre elite 85t. While there are specific griped that I found unappealing with it's competition, the main reason why I've settled on these is that it provides all the software capabilities I require to use them for all of my headphone needs while providing excellent comfort and decent battery life. At work I am able to connect to both my work and personal phone simultaneously and answer calls on either phone. I spend at least 4 hours a day on the phone and the digital ANC Jabre has is among the best I've found in a true earbud. Though they boast an all day battery I've typically been able to get about 5 hours on any given charge using nonstop between listening to media and answering phone calls before requiring a charge. The charging case and it's fast charge is a godsend as it provides the fastest charge I've seen. The six microphones these boast picks up your voice clearly when answering calls or online meetings which is a major issue among the competitors. You are able to customize preferences based on the function you are performing such as listening to audio and having a phone call which gives you the controls of your audio specific to what you are doing. I do wish Jabre would allow you to utilize just the left headphone without using the right one but unfortunately you can only operate with one headphone when using the right bud. The jabre software allows for customization of many functions to control media on your device without sacrificing design with buttons. You are able to set functions for one, two, and three taps for both the left and right headset which covers many of the controls you'd need to control your device without having to open the phone. You are even able to customize the sound to utilizing their software which does help if you are riding them for listening to music. While working out these headphones for snug enough to not dislodge even while running and it's water resistance means you don't need to worry about sweating while wearing them. One other feature, hear through, allows you to toggle between noise cancellation mode to being able to hear ambient noise clearly at the touch of a bud. The six microphones seamlessly allow ambient room noise to be heard and then removed by toggling the mode back to ANC which I haven't found in any other ear bud. It is a culmination of these features coupled with it's snug yet not invasive design, ability to pair with multiple devices, hear through and ANC modes, water resistance and multi on board microphones for improved speech clarity without sacrificing sound quality which separates this product from any other one I've encountered in the market.

2020 launched...and still considered the best overall earphone out today. Yes you can get in line with all the hype on the latest earphones out there today. Tones of brands have launched recently their new products. I know because i have them or have returned them for not living up to their promises. As it stands right now the Jabra 85t represents the best overall earphone based on sound quality, comfort, apps and feature set along with great battery life and wireless charging, and phone quality. Its almost embarrassing for brands like Sony and others who just launched recently and still can't even connect to multiple sources still in 2021 and yet the 85ts do. And at $179 right now ..its a no-brainer.

The ANC feature on this works great. They don't fit well into my ear canal as the plugs are more oval than circular and they move around a little while running. The 85t is on the left in the picture The battery doesn't last as long as the 75t. The sound is great and the distance connection is better than the 75t.

Although the 85t has been out for awhile... Jabra still continues to deliver with each iteration. The 75t's are still going strong, the 85t's are a different take to the TWS space for Jabra. Now they have the Elite 3, Elite 7 Active, Elite 7 Pro - but of all the Jabra's I have tried (75t, 85t, Elite 7 Active and 7 Pro) the ones I continue to use more often are the 75t but now the 85t have moved to my Top 3 dailies - XM4, AirPods Pro & 85t. The Elite 7 Active & 7 Pro sound nearly identical if not the same! Let's just the sound evsn after some EQ tweaks did not impress! Sound was sort of bland and uneventful... So back they went! picked up the 85t again lol since I already had the 75t and man! the level of comfort for me was what mads them pleasant. The 7 series are comfortable for sure but something about the semi-open design and contrary to popular opinion I very much enjoy the oblong ear tips. The ANC is effective, the best? no. Sound Quality is good, above average, the best? no. Call Quality is superb... the best? no. But Jabra doing everything good and above average in each important segment for a TWS set have pushed these to my Top 3 dailies. So of course this is all opinion based and subjective but give them a try - who knows you may enjoy them as much as I do!

A Great Successor to the Elite 75t

I’ve owned and truly loved my Jabra Elite 75t for the last year. In my opinion, Jabra has taken everything that was wonderful about the 75t and they’ve delivered a next level experience in the 85t that is perhaps not earth shaking but is next generation excellent. In this review, I’ll highlight the notable differences between them. The first thing you want to do is go your App Store and download the Jabra Sound+ App. Then follow the directions to pair your 85t’s to your device. Once paired, open the app and go through all the available setup options. Out of the box, an update was available for my headphones, which took about 15 minutes to complete. Anytime an update is available, the Discover Tab in the Sound+ App lights up to let you know you can update. Jabra couldn’t make it any simpler if they tried. While I’m speaking about the app, it’s one of the best apps to control and manage earphones I’ve had the pleasure to use and I’ve used plenty of them. So what did Jabra do to make the next generation Elite 85t better? Small things first. The charging case is now Qi wireless capable. And its slightly larger than the 75t charging case. The earbuds themselves are slightly larger than the 75t as well. But that has NOT been an issue in wear, fit or most important, comfort. More on comfort below. As already mentioned, the Jabra Sound+ app is the same app, with minor differences to accommodate the more advanced ANC in the 85t. The app is and continues to be industry leading in feature and control options. I won’t go into great detail on the app, except to say it’s simple, intuitive and VERY effective. You can easily integrate with Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri and Google Assistant. It was the same on the 75t. Moving on to more important things, let’s start with Advanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). All of my headphones have ANC. For me ANC is not the driving force behind any headphone purchase. Mostly because when ANC is active, the soundstage is typically compressed. And so too is this the case with the Elite 85t when ANC is on. It's very good to be sure, but if you're not in a noisy environment and you don't need noise cancelling, don't engage it. The sound stage will be expanded and music sounds fuller without it. ANC also uses more power so you'll get longer average use times without ANC engaged. Jabra incorporated a special ANC chip which permits something most ANC headphones cannot do and that’s giving you the ability to adjust the level of ANC to the level of noise reduction appropriate for the listening environment you’re in. Most ANC systems are either on or off. You either get noise reduction or you don’t. With the Jabra system, you use a slider in the Jabra Sound + app to dial in the perfect level of ANC and Hear-Through. Jabra dials the level of ANC in levels of 3db in 11 adjustments from no noise cancellation to full noise cancellation, with a toggle to add hear through for situations when you need to have some sense of things happening around you. It’s simple and effective. Each earbud has a microphone on the outside to cancel noise from the outside and one on the inside to cancel noise inside the ear. For the price its remarkably good. When Jabra introduced the Elite 75t, they did NOT have ANC. Instead they offered passive noise cancellation. What that means is once you’ve chosen the eargel with the best fit, they go deeper in your ear, to block out the outside world. It’s pretty effective to a degree. But Jabra just did something truly remarkable by rolling out an update to the 75t and Active 75t bringing Active Noise Cancellation to them both. That Jabra didn’t leave the 75t series out and it was even possible to turn earbuds which didn’t offer ANC and turn them into earbuds WITH ANC, with an update is simply amazing. Is it as good as ANC on the 85t? No. But it’s very good and I believe this is the first time anyone has ever done this. Kuddos to Jabra! Another notable improvement for the 85t is going from 6mm speakers to 12mm speakers. To be honest, the Elite 75t’s should not sound as great as they do with 6mm speakers, but they do. In doubling the size of the speakers in the 85t, the sound to my ears is broader. Because the 75t requires a very tight fit to block outside noise. Bass on the 75t can be a bit much. In contrast bass on the 12mm speaker on the 85t is not overpowering (a good thing to me), because the new earbuds are semi-open as opposed to fully closed. I personally find the sound more natural. Bass is tight, without boominess and gives a sense of greater depth without rattling your head. Mid-range is enhanced and highs crystal clear with no hint of being shrill. Overall, I think the new 85t’s are better balanced and better sounding than the 75t. Not long ago, Jabra introduced a feature through the app called My Sound. My Sound, adjusts the sound precisely for your hearing, where each ear is played frequencies at varying loudness levels from audible to barely audible. Once complete, the app configures the earbuds precisely for each ear. You must be in a place where it’s totally quiet as some of the tones can be hard to hear and you tap a box on the screen for each frequency you hear. I’ve taken the My Sound test a couple times and I’m not sure I can honestly hear much of a difference either way. It would be great if could toggle back and forth to hear how music sounds with the results of the sound test or without the sound test. As it stands now, you can only start over and take the test again. Also new this year is a wireless Qi charge ready case. Last year’s case could only be charged with a USB C to charging brick. The case this year is just slightly larger than last years case. But the case is already smaller than most other earbud cases, so not an issue. The case is well engineered and has a nice matt finish (nothing shiny here, no siree). And the earbuds fit in their charging cradle magnetically. You can turn the case upside down with the lid open and shake it and the buds remain securely in place. On a full charge, the earbuds will provide up to 5.5 hours of continuous play with ANC or up to 7 hours without ANC. The case itself holds up to 25 hours with ANC or 31 hours without ANC. The Elite 85t has an IPX4 dust and water rating and can take sweat from a hard workout or splashing water. They cannot be submerged in water. The Elite 75t has an IPX55 rating, which is tad better. Both the 75t and 85t come with a two-year warranty against dust and water, so you are well covered if anything goes wrong. In terms of connectivity, the Elite 85t can connect to 8 devices and play through two simultaneously. Jabra provides actual tactile buttons you can program to do what you want from pause, play, answer a call, move from one track forward or back. I will say the buttons require a bit more force to engage on the 85t, but they’re so much better than touch sensitive buttons. Jabra truly excels at headphones for phone calls. The 85t continues this tradition with 6 (count ‘em SIX) professional grade microphones, three in each bud. They added what they call SideTone, so you can hear your voice more clearly and naturally on a phone call, coupled with advanced wind protection algorithms, phone conversations are amazingly clear. I took a walk on a breezy afternoon with ANC all the way up, pass-through on and made a phone call. The ANC did a great job removing wind noise. My office can get loud and It works great there as well. All in-earbud headphones need to fit your ears properly to sound their best. With the 75t, the eargels are round and need to go deeper in your ear to block outside sounds. This can cause pressure and listener fatigue, but it’s how Jabra manages to get great sound from 6mm speakers. It’s VERY important to try all three eargels (small, medium, large) to determine what fits and sounds best. Using a size too small will not only provide a poor fit but will ensure you're not hearing everything these puppies can produce. The 85t eargels are a new semi-open oval design with pressure relief vents to eliminate pressure buildup. I find the 85t’s immensely more comfortable and listener fatigue is non-existent, even for extended periods of time in your ears. You still need to make sure you’ve chosen the right size eargel to get the best sound. Like the 75t, you still can’t listen to either earbud in mono. The 75t and 85t are slave and master. This means they aren’t paired individually and thus, it’s not possible to listen through the left earbud individually. You can listen through the right earbud in mono mode by putting it in your ear and leave the left earbud in the charging case. If Jabra can add ANC with an update, maybe this will come in a future update. Sorry this is long, but I wanted to share my thoughts on the differences between the 75t and the new 85t. I’ve put the 85t through extended listening sessions over the last few days, some sessions exceeding 3+ hours without a break and they are simply terrific for long listening. The 85t is to me a great step up and better in all the areas they needed to be. The 75t is still terrific made even better when Jabra updated them with ANC for free. But the 85t is all around better with larger speakers, fully adjustable next generation ANC, a case with wireless charging, Jabra’s traditional superior call quality, coupled with more balanced sound Over the last couple years, Jabra has been making some stellar state-of-the-art Bluetooth earbuds. One can only imagine how they’ll top this a year from now, but I have every confidence they will. In the meantime, I’ll be enjoying the best earbuds for the money out there and that makes me a very lucky camper indeed.

At first I was disappointed as the ANC in the Jabra was only fair at best. I tried the medium buds which I thought were a bit to tight so I tried the smalls...too loose. I just couldn’t get it right. The sound was amazing but the external noise? Ehh! The medium buds started to hurt slightly. I remembered the tutorials all referring to the Oval form of these buds being different. The next day I decided to try the largest buds. Never used the largest size on three previous brands. Switched out the medium for the large buds and OMG! What a difference. These are just amazing in sound, ANC and the Jabra+ App. Compared to the other top earbuds with ANC, these are truly the most customizable with stellar sound. These blew my wife’s AirPod pros to shame. Everything I own in AV tech is Apple...except my Jabra 85t

So I was hoping for a better sound with the 12 mm drivers. Now they have great bass. Much better than the Bose QC's and TW2. As for the highs, they have a high shrill sound. Support had me exchange them twice. No change. Before I updated the firmware, they were a bit clearer. I think the Sennheiser's have a much clearer sound. ANC and 'HearThrough' changed the music slightly. Less bass and more mid-range. It could never get rid off all the hum. The QC's and TW2's removed it all. Occlusion, because of the semi-open design it was non-existence. The TW2's and QC's both had occlusion, but had better sound. Tough to decide which to pick. I listen to Amazon HD, so I want the best sound. So will probably exchange them for the TW2's unless support can fix them soon. Battery - I can get almost 7 hours on one charge. Much better than the 5 with the others.

Thanks for your review of the Jabra Elite 85t, Sig10, we really appreciate receiving feedback from our users. We are happy to hear you are satisfied with the bass level of your Jabra Elite 85t. We are sad to learn, however, that you do not find the rest of the audio range to be of adequate quality and that you were not happy with the ANC and HearThrough features of the Jabra Elite 85t. We believe that the Jabra Elite 85t maintains a nice balance between the highs, mids, and lows of the audio you are listening to. In order to get the best possible audio quality with your Elite 85t, we recommend making sure your earbuds are placed correctly in your ears. You can check our support page article to ensure you have the proper adjustment with your Jabra Elite 85t: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/faq/How-do-I-get-the-best-fit-with-my-Jabra-Elite-85t#/. Ensuring you have the best fit with the eargels on your Jabra Elite 85t earbuds is also vital for making the most out of the noise cancellation function of your earbuds. A snug fit will create a seal around the outside of your ear canal, which will, in turn, prevent ambient noise from getting into your audio stream. Furthermore, we strongly encourage you to check out our support article, linked here: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/faq/How-do-I-get-the-best-sound-when-listening-to-music-and-watching-videos#/, which details our helpful tips and tricks on how to get the best possible audio quality with your Jabra Elite 85t. The Elite 85t also boasts a 12mm speaker where previous models of our truly wireless devices used a 6mm speaker so you should have better sound. If you are still not satisfied with the audio quality of the Jabra Elite 85t after checking out our support articles, we recommend taking the MySound test found in the Jabra Sound+ app in order to tailor your listening experience even further. The MySound test is an audio test made up of various tones played at different frequencies in both your left earbud and right earbud, respectively. The results of the test are then used to create a personalized audio profile for the wearer. Your MySound profile is used to calibrate your Jabra device to optimize your music listening experience and is saved to both your Jabra Elite 85t earbuds and to your Sound+ app to ensure you are always getting the best possible audio quality. We also encourage you to customize the ANC in your Jabra Elite 85t by going into the Headset tab of your Jabra Sound+ app. Then select Personalize your headset> Active Noise Cancellation and follow all of the on-screen prompts. Make sure you are in a noisy environment when customizing the ANC on your Jabra Elite 85t as this will ensure you get the best results. If you are still having any challenges with the Jabra Elite 85t, we strongly suggest you update to firmware version 1.27. This update is expected to resolve a great number of challenges incuding music performance and overall performance and stability improvements. We kindly as that you contact us if you have any other questions or concerns about your Jabra Elite 85t: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/contact-support#/. I really like the Jabra earbuds I started with the 65t and they have gotten better and better each time and these pair sound excellent and the noise cancelling is awesome, I can concentrate on what I want to hear or just not listen to what is around me as when I am on a flight. I would have liked them to be a bit smaller but overall they sound excellent. The application is a great addition to making them sound great and also to know the battery life and customizing them to my liking.

I am using wired earphones, wireless earphones and wireless earbuds. I prefer the wired earphones other than wireless. Wireless earphones cannot provide the great performance as wire one. But this Jabra Elite 85t Earbuds provided great experience to me. It's sounds is excellent. It may better than wired one in some parts. Especially the noise cancelling is perfect for my hobby. I tried it when I am doing lawn-mowing. It covers the noise very good. I can enjoy the music with lawn-mowing. The battery time is exceed my expectation. Battery charging takes less than an hour. The weight is lighter than other brands. I recommend who is looking for earbuds

Best True Wireless’s ear buds that I have ever had. Jabra finally got it right. The sound is amazing. When adding the Jabra sound app you can fully customize everything. The ANC is better then AirPod pro. The case is QI wireless charging. Connects to my iPhone 12 pro max in seconds. The music is Rich. Tried 3 different ones of this thinking I may have gotten a bad batch. All of them the battery drained much more on right. Most recent 45% on left, 2% on right remaining, and only got up to 6hrs without ANC, which is less than advertised. This last one seems a bit worse than the others. Sound was good, app good. Jabra Support initially said that's not normal, now a supervisor is saying it's normal. I don't trust them. Often manufacturers make up an excuse to peddle a defective product and try to cheat you out of your warranty rights. Samsung Galaxy buds which I tried were very good for battery life, except not as good in sound. I think Jabra messed up on this important aspect, which is unfortunate because otherwise I'm very satisfied.

my prefered choice above all tw earbuds is Jabra. I own the jabra elite 75t active and they even got the outer anc firmware upgrade. I personally prefer the smaller of the 2 (being the 75t) but the 12 mm drivers can make up for the odd eliptical ear-tunnel because the bass is insane. Excited for an active elite 85t to come

I’ve been using the older 65t model which is excellent as my go-to earbuds and I’m pleased with all the improvements on the 85t. The new feature on these 85t is ANC (Noise cancellation). One thing that was outstanding on the older 65t is how well they fit for me (And this is personal). Most other earbuds I used are either not a good fit (even going through all the different cap sizes) or become uncomfortable after a while. I find the fitting on the 85t slightly more loose but still firm, and go deeper into the ear canal than others, making them stay without having to use an ear loop. These earbuds are small overall, not protruding too much from the ear. Music: Sound is very rich and detailed. It uses 12mm drivers which are on the larger side for earbuds (better). They’re by default equalized flat but after adjusting through the Jabra Sound+ app, got the bass and highs as I like it. Overall very pleasing, detailed sound. Phone calls: As expected from Jabra, a company that has been making professional headsets longer than anyone else, it’s excellent. I’ve used it over the past few days on countless video calls and it’s been great. Each earbud has two mics. The outer mic is used to compensate background noise. The earbuds work either when using both pieces, or using only the right earbud, which is the main one. Side tone for phone calls is configurable from within the app, and it controls the amount of feedback played back through the earphones, or no feedback at all. This makes the calls feel more natural, as I can hear what I’m talking about like when not wearing headphones. Controls: Each earbud has one large button. From the factory, the right button controls play/pause with 1 click, assistant (Siri/Google) with two clicks, the left button controls the ANC/HearThrough modes and track (next, prev/restart) with two or three clicks. Holding the buttons controls the volume. The earbuds sense the approx. distance from each other so if they’re too far apart (ie removing one piece) will pause the music, or can be programmed to mute. ANC and HearThrough are adjustable with five levels each. While I was only able to use ANC briefly, it does mute about any sound, and at the same time I really like the HearThrough mode while going about so I can hear what’s around me without compromising the sound of the music. The first time I used the earphones they go through a calibration where It measures the audible spectrum for each ear and adjusts accordingly. Very nice, I don’t recall any other headphone doing this. This can be re-run at any time from the Jabra app. It’s called ‘MySound’ on the app. Case and battery. The case is fairly compact, like a square-is pill box with a matte finish that does not attract many fingerprints. The charging port is USB and it also supports Qi wireless charging, by placing the case on the Qi charging pad, so one less cable to carry. The earbuds can play up to 7 hours of music (without ANC on) and 30+ hours total with the case, so the case can fully charge the earbuds about four more times. ANC on all the time reduces it to 5.5 h / 25 h (rated). Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.0, with codecs SBC and AAC. AAC is optimized for Apple devices, and SBC provides high bandwidth. It can connect to two devices simultaneously, and remember parings for eight devices. This means I’m actually using the headphones simultaneously on my phone and laptop. It won’t merge the sound from both devices, but if I start a video on the computer it pauses the music on the phone, without having to switch devices or do anything on the earbuds. The earbuds are also IPX4 rated, meaning they can withstand getting splashed with water. Overall, I’m very pleased with this. My new go-to earbuds!

So I love the Jabra Brand they have been making Bluetooth headphones for a long time, a trusted brand! However, I upgraded from the 65t to these 85t and I'm highly disappointed. Really quick the issue is -- when I put the earbud back in the case, it connects and sometimes disconnects. Very frustrating so when I'm not using them, it will connect and when I'm holding the phone it will sometimes connect to the earbud in the case and back and forth... Again very frustrating and since its not sitting right in the case or making contact it takes twice as long to charge. In the pictures I have up, it shows connected but still in the case!!! I've cleaned the contacts inside the case and on the buds but to no avail! AT this price point I'm done!!!!!
