Truth be told, this is my first foray into any Jabra product so I came in with no predisposition whatsoever. My initial thoughts, it certainly looks and feels like a quality product Has nice tactile feel and feels of good material. It's lightweight yet feels solid and substantial.
In the box you'll find the headset / mic that has a standard 3.5 mm headset chord, the 3.5 female to USB adapter to hook up to soft-phone on computer and a small carry bag, for what that's worth. Everything fit into the case easily and my 13 year old daughter really liked the black on the outside and orange on the inside. Also included are the quick start guide and the obligatory but almost never read "Warning and Declarations" book.
All right, lets put them to work... They are comfortable on the ear and the boom mic has a nice magnetic feature to hold the mic when in the full "up" position.
Our (my 13 y/o was my official assistant tester) first test was plugged into a Samsung S8 with a live call to a land line. The sound quality of the stereo headset was crisp and clean. The mic delivered accurate and crisp sound as well. For a phone headset, it's perfect. My daughter liked the fact that she could use her phone aps while talking on the phone. She also liked the fact that the headset did not cover the full ear, thus allowing her to still hear when mom or dad hollered at her or the dogs barked in the yard.
Our next test was listening to 5 Finger Death Punch on a Google Pixel 2. To be fair, the sound was not bad, but it is certainly not anywhere near our Sony or Beats full ear noise cancelling headsets. And to be honest, that is not a fair comparison so I will give them a solid 4 on music sound. Really good, especially for what they are, but for pure musical enjoyment, there are more robust (and expensive) options.
Our final test was from my PC using Skype to make a call to the Pixel 2 on Google Project Fi cell network. Again, they did a yoemans job and delivered above expectation. Here is where I have an opportunity for improvement... The adapter from 3.5 mm to USB did include volume * / -, mute and phone control buttons in-line. I would have preferred to also have those options for the 3.5 connector.
In all, I think these are a great option for long-term phone use and certainly capable to double as a music / TV headset. in all honesty, a very nice choice if you need a wired unit that can work both on 3.5 mm and USB platforms. These will provide quality sound, mic and all day comfort.I would certainly recommend them to a friend.

I needed to buy a wired headset for home-office and it's was one of the best options. That's OK in the beginning but after 6 months the plastic on side of opposite the microphone broken without any hit - broken by utilization. I can still use, but I can not recommend. Too fragile for the price;

When taking conference calls, I normally use my cell phone or earbuds. As a result, the batteries die a lot quicker so I figured it might be worth it to try out a headset just for conference calls on my computer.
The sound quality on these is pretty good. Despite being on-ear headphones, they do a pretty good job at canceling out office noise. They're not active noise cancelling headphones by any means but they do a pretty good job.
The Do Not Disturb light is odd but cool. You can use these headphones either through the normal 3.5mm jack or though USB. The USB dongle adds volume up/down buttons, mute and the Do Not Disturb button too. Pretty cool to say the least.

These are a smaller sized over the ear chat mic and headphone combo. I do not think I have an above average size head but during testing I found these fit my 11 yo better than me (38 yo). Not to say, that they did not fit me well or perform as advertised. They just feel small on my head; maybe the pro there is that they are lite and almost go unnoticed while wearing them. One thing I really like is the external sound control. It is a heavy half dollar sized do-dad that sit on any surface with authority almost as if magnetize (it is not). This allows for cord placement; meaning you set the deal far enough away from your left hand that while connected you are not constantly tapping your hand or arm parts with the cord (which is SOOO annoying). The sound control piece and the headphones lights up and that pretty neat too. The entire build of the unit is solid. They give me the vibe that I will be able to use them for years to come. Overall, they are great and have great mic and sound input and output. I just think of some of the other brands out there and feel like these maybe do not hit the mark that some of the others in the same (or even cheaper) price range do. Nevertheless, maybe those do not light up which is really neat. I would recommend for a younger aged gamer (or someone any age without a large head).

It took only a few seconds upon receiving this unit to unpack, plug into my desktop and Windows 10 automatically downloaded and installed the drivers. I proceeded to connect to my Citrix Virtual Desktop, which also recognized the Jabra Evolve 40 headset. The last step was to get Cisco Jabber - my company's Unified Communication software to recognize the headset too . This worked well and was just a selection in the audio drop down menu.
The headset is supposed to have some passive noise cancelling features - but honestly - I could not determine a difference when wearing them or not. The headset is comfortable - but I won't be wearing it between calls to help eliminate normal office noise.
Voice quality during my calls was good on both ends - so that is a positive. I'll keep the headset connected on just use as needed.
Jabra touts a feature called "Jabra Intelligent Call Transfer" - which is supposed to let you transfer a call on your PC to your mobile device so you can be on the move anytime. For that to work, you need a phone with a 1/8" headset jack - and my iPhone 8 doesn't - so I was unable to test that feature. I expect many phones may have this issue....
Overall, the Jabra Evolve 40 worked well for making and receiving calls via my PC software - which is exactly what I needed it to so. If you're looking for a reasonably priced headset for use with your conferencing software - this would be an easy fit!
I gave 3 stars because I couldn't tell any difference on the passive noise canceling features and unable to test the Intelligent Call Transfer feature as the headset is not Bluetooth.

Hello Techmaster - We are glad to see you are satisfied with the functionality and comfort of the Jabra Evolve 40. We do try to build our products as user-friendly as possible, so it is great to hear you had no problem setting it up for the first time and continue to use it with your PC software at work. We are sorry to hear, however, that you are not able to take advantage of the Jabra Intelligent Call Transfer (JICT) due to the lack of headphone jack on your phone. We will take your feedback into consideration, however we do want to point out that it is still possible to use JICT when you use the headphone jack adapter, as long as Skype for Business is set up correctly on your phone. Regarding the passive noise cancellation, we will take your feedback into account, and we are sorry it did not quite meet your expectations. You may want to check out one of our devices that features active noise cancellation to get the type of noise elimination that you are looking for. Thank you very much for your review!

I occasionally use Skype on my laptop and wanted a new, lightweight set to carry in my case. These fit that purpose nicely. You can use either a USB port or unplug from the USB adapter and plug the 3.5 mm jack into the speaker port on your computer. The sound is much clearer if you do this. These are very lightweight, fold flat and come with a nice, padded zippered case. One word of caution though: while these have nice sound and work well for communication on Skype, they aren't like high-end gaming headsets.

Working from home I found that my wireless earbuds were not the best for Zoom calls or Teams meetings and I wanted something that would offer more voice clarity. The Jabra - Evolve 40 headset perfectly fit the bill. They are so lightweight that I frequently forget I have them on. Great sound and from what people tell me, the mic is also very good. They also offer a wireless version, but this was the best for me.

This is a great headset for video-conferencing. It is quite comfortable over long periods of time (4 hrs +), and the sound quality is high (although the volume tends to be a bit low even at max settings). Other participants have reported high quality of the microphone. I especially like how the earmuffs and the microphone can adapt as they rotate along quite an extensive range.

The type of USB connector was not clearly specified by best buy, didn't find it, but then Jabra itself provided an answer pointing it was USB-C (who better than the manufacturer I could trust?). I received the product to find out it was not USB-C, I was dissapointed by this, tried connecting the Audio Jack directly to the computer and didn't work, so I ended up buying the USB-C adapter. (didn't have time to deal with return process and the product was sold out everywhere)
Besides that experience, the product is very good for the price, especially the microphone quality which was the reason for me to buy this.
I honestly wish I could get rid of the (in my case) useless extra cable with the controller.

been using this for 3 weeks now from my home office and it's a great improvement over the mic on my webcam.
it's comfortable enough for hour long calls.
My only gripe is the wire but that's my fault because i didn't want to pay +$130 for the bluetooth wireless model.

I use Rosetta Stone language software as well as Dragon for dictating my own documents and this headset/mic is very responsive for my needs. The sound is very clear and the microphone very sensitive to my voice. Every now and then a word comes up that's incorrect but that may not be the headset. It's possible the software has a glitch or two in it that causes that to happen. For the most part, it does the job I need it to. For less than $80 dollars this is a top notch quality headset/mic I'd recommend to anyone!

I don’t use these really for any music but the call quality is wonderful I use these to work from home using my cell phone where I talk to up to 75 people a day. I can hear everything sharp and crisp and the noise canceling microphone works well. Seems to be good build quality. Very happy with my purchase

This is superior to the much cheaper alternatives available at the office supply store. It seems well-constructed, has adequate sound reproduction and volume, and fits OK. Callers have indicated my voice sounds good. The cord is not excessively long so it doesn't get tangled, and it's red which I can see easily in the black car interior and briefcase. In addition to talking, I use mine for listening to audio books on long trips with one side moved off the ear to safely hear the traffic sounds. As a professional musician, this pair is also used to listen to recordings via phone or laptop when I'm away from the studio and don't have my higher quality headphones.

I had purchased a Logitech Headset with microphone and the microphone was really bad. I then switched to a Jabra and the microphone was excellent. Sound quality is how much better than the Logitech.
