    Near perfect fitness tracker

I would just like to start by saying that I have had every version of the jawbone up to date, and the Up2 is by far the best version they have put out this far. Pros: Size and style- this thing is much lighter and less bulky than the previous Up24, which was constantly getting caught on things because of the open concept clasp. This new Up2 not only looks and feels better, but it no longer gets in the way for typing and does not snag on clothing as it did in the previous version. A lot of people have been saying that this new clasp is finicky and confusing, but that just isn't true. If they had bothered watching the quick 60 second video on the app they would know how secure it. Also I have heard that it may come loose, however I have found that this is also not accurate, this thing does not come loose and is an easy process when you understand what ou are doing. It is also now made of aluminum and rubber, so it is a change from previous versions for the better. Battery life- battery life in the Up2 is as good as it has ever been, getting anywhere from 7-9 days on a single charge. Charging this band takes less than 2 hours from dead, and is done now through the new magnetic charging Connection, which means no more annoying cap and headphone jack for charging. Workout recovery- This is a great feature that is not even listed on the box, but is one of the best things about this little band. If you should go for a run and forget to set the stopwatch mode (now done in the app), the band will sense the sustained activity level and when you log in to the app it will ask if you were doing some activity recently, and if you say yes it will ask you what you were up to and give you a list of options to choose from based on recent activities. It will also learn from which activities you do more frequently and use those when presenting your options. Water resistant- this is both a pro and a con as Jawbone originally promised a fully waterproof device rated 10atm, needless to say this is not what we got. What we did get however is a device I can where in the shower and at the gym so I only ever have to take it off to charge( which is not frequently). Cons: Touch interface- in order to put this thing into sleep mode you need to tap twice to wake the band and then long press to change the mode from active to sleep. This sounded like a bizarre approach and does not always work as advertised, however this is the only time you need to use the interface and thanks to the sleep recovery feature if you forgot to change modes before going to sleep the band will ask you when you wake up and log in if you have been asleep between the hours it guesses and you can edit it if it is incorrect. No screen- I don't need a full smart watch functionality, but is it too much to ask for a tiny screen for the time? It's a small chance and would make this device even more useful and convenient than it already is, but I understand they chose to go without a screen to get the phenomenal battery life. Final thoughts: For $99 the Up2 is the best tracker at that price point by far, between the workout recovery and tiny size this is the best fitness tracker I have used so far. I would even recommend the Up2 over the more pricey Up3 since the only difference right now is that the Up3 tracks your heart rate 1 time per day in the morning, and has slightly better sleep tracking which is certainly not worth twice the price. I was originally looking into the Apple Watch, but for 1/4 of the price this little band has tracking that is just as good. The main difference obviously is that the Apple Watch runs apps and tells the time, but for 10x longer battery life and 1/4 the price I can live with the compromise.

Love the band, have worn in the shower everyday with no issues. The only CON is that band unhooks very easily. Takes a while to adjust the band to that perfect fit, but it eventually works great. Highly recommended over the fit bit solely because of the app. The app has a "coach" that will track trends and challenges based on previous results. Also has a great sleep tracking, so I wear it to sleep and find myself trying to get to bed at a decent time. I attached pics to show that is as small as a ladies watch WHICH is smaller than the Fitbit and whole watch chargers no dismantling.

I did a lot of research prior to buying a fitness band and finally decided on the U24 (which later became the Up2). I was happy with the Up24, but after using the it for about 6-8 weeks, it stopped working...my replacement came in the form of an Up2. I had high hopes for it. It is sleeker and smaller than the last Up24. It has a buckle and all the other functions that I loved about the Up24. It works like the last band did, and I was happy with it until it started to fall off my wrist with way too much ease. I thought perhaps I was doing something wrong, but no matter how tight or lose I placed it on my wrist, it would always fall off. This continued until after another 6--8 passed and it too stopped working (both band just stopped charging). I wasn't abusing it...I was using it as directed, but neither lasted. The buckle issue was frustrating enough, but that aside, there is the fact that it stopped working so fast...I may have gotten a lemon (twice) but I have lost trust in this brand and I'm in the market for a new bad at the moment...most likely a Fitbit Charge HR (look for my review in a few weeks). One thing you should note...Since I bought my band, a newer rope version has been released. I don't know how that one works...if its better at staying on, but that doesn't explain the fact that in less than 3 months 3 bands total (2 of mine and my wives) stopped working. When it was working I loved it...I found myself working to meet the challenges (I hated the buckle), but now I question the Quality of the product altogether. I wouldn't recommend it.

I love Jawbone UP Bands. I've had a UP and UP24 before and loved them both. Never took it off. Incredible accuracy. The UP 2 is very comfortable to wear. Though sometimes the band loosens up and becomes a little big, it's really not as bad as I'm making it seem. I've also noticed that I can't calibrate this band. Which makes me feel it's not 100% like my UP24 was. Another feature I'm a little disappointed about is setting a specific stopwatch activity, you can't set it from your band must use app only. Over all I really like this band and recomend it to anyone.

This item has multiple issues. It is very finicky when trying to get it to charge and the clasp is somewhat difficult to secure and then comes undone during some activities. Also, the app takes longer than I would expect to update when it syncs, especially when tracking sleep. I only bought this item because it was 50% off and I also had a gift card.

I like the UP2 because it is small and discreet and has an adjustable band. My wrists are very small and all other fitness tracker bands had been too large. Unfortunately, after only 2 months, my band broke. It doesn't look like it can be repaired which is disappointing. I've contacted Jawbone about a possible warranty, but it is still too early for a response.

This activity tracker has many flaws. It needs to be paired via Bluetooth to my iPhone several times a week. It also has a poor clasp design that comes undone causing the tracker to fall off my wrist. It has burned out when in contact with sweat, the shower or washing dishes, the UP24 was a better product.

The band on this product is horrible it come loose. It can for fall off your wrist without you knowing it. I am a loyal UP customer but do not buy this one it is bad news. I have the jawbone the UP 24, UP move and the UP2. The software information is is great for keeping track of workouts, sleep, calorie and more. The band on this one is a loser even with the support clip. UP fix this product or take it off the shelves. Also this past week the band broke at the joint and can not be repaired . This a good company but this UP2 is bad product.

Up 2 is smaller and lighter than the up and up24 and its a nice improvement. The jawbone up2 software is what really makes it a fantastic fitness tracker. The new update added auto sleep tracking so you don't have to tell the band your going to sleep or when you wake up. It works surprisingly well. Much more accurate than fitbit with a ton more information that is easily viewed. Smart coach is a nice motivation tool with added health amd fitness tips based on your personal achievements or lack of achievement in some cases. Up2 Works great with iphone, 5,5s,and 6 as well as samsung galaxy s4 and 5. The iphone app gets updated first and has some additional apps that can link with up. I have owned several fitness trackers including 2 fitbits, the original up, up24 and now the up2. I liked the design and patterns better on the up and up24 but the up2 is by far the most comfortable to wear 24/7. Only negative is the clasp that keeps it on your wrist. If you don't twist the clasp just a little it can come off with little effort. I found that after 3 weeks or so I would need to bend the metal clasp to get it to stay on tight. Not a big deal but I did have the band fall off once and had to retrace my steps to find it. I highly recommend getting the geek squad protection plan for fitness trackers as they all seem to break for fail within a year. I thought it was me but my wifes fitbit stopped working after 5months so I replaced it with the jawbone up24 and its button stopped working after 9months. My up24 stopped around 6. Replaced it with the up2 and so far no problem. If you have a moto360 smartwatch the jawbone up software can also get steps from the watch.

    Great entry level activity tracker

I have been using an activity tracker (firbit zip) for over a year but wanted something I could wear on my wrist. After trying the jawbone up24 and misfit bands, one of which I didn't like the fit and the later I didn't like the build quality. I settledon't on the jawbone up2 and have been using it for about 3 weeks. So far so good. It's strengths are definitely it's size, style, water reaistance, and the up mobile app. The app is great and the best among jawbone, fitbit and misfit. The activity tracker seems fairly acurate, maybe a little on the heavy side when it comes to steps though. The sleep tracking seems to work ok too, as long as you remember to put the band in sleep mode. The only complairs are the band clasp and responsiveness of the band to touch control. The band clasp takes some getting used to in order to put it on. It also poses a risk of coming off easily as I've unlatched it changing clothing before. The bands touch controls are also a bit of an issue. The double tap to see the mode and change it from day to sleep mode is a bit finicky. It seems to be both accelerometer and touch based. I find I have to tap it multiple times to show the mode its in. Overall it is a good activity tracker. I love the app and the ability to wear it in the shower. I would recommend this product to others.

It has its ups and downs

This product has its ups and downs. I previously owned the UP24 and was originally waiting for the UP3 to come out. When it finally did, the price for feature differential between the UP2 and UP3 did not make much sense to me. Therefore I purchased my first UP2. This purchase was actually my second purchased UP2, but it wasn't the actual second UP2. I have been through several replacements over the course of ownership. I purchased this UP2 because I had some really bad charging habits while travelling overseas and the old unit started having issues. I think that something I did might have caused the issues. So I replaced it with a new one that I got for about 1/2 price. The Good: - I think that the UP app and interface is great (that's why I have stuck with it despite other issues) - The support department is good about replacing defective units - This price: I bought this during the Thanksgiving time frame and got it for about 1/2 the usual price The Not So Good - Sometimes dealing with the support is tedious. If you contact them multiple times, you get different support personnel and each runs you through the same steps. Sometimes, you feel like "I've already been there, done that" and it still does not work. - I have already had a warranty replacement on this UP2. It just would not charge. No lights nada (support did replace it) - As others mentioned in some of the reviews, the clasp design on this model can come undone. I find if the band is wet, it tends to slip more (the new design looks as if it will make it less likely to be lost if the band comes undone). Overall, I am really split on whether I would recommend it or not. I like the App and when it works, I am happy with it in general. I like the look (not bulky). If I did recommend it to a friend, I would preface it some conditions and make the friend aware of my experiences. Support has been great about replacing the defective units, but I seem to have had a lot of those.

For the most part I like the device. It is hard to find one device lately that does everything I would like to do, hopefully that will change one day. After hearing so many negative things about the UP3 I decided to go with the UP2 which is half the price and would cover the items I was looking for, such as tracking my steps and sleep. I had a fitbit before, however have had issues with it which ruined all my stats and gave me false data in their system. They tell me they can not just remove this data (which is odd) and my only option is to delete the entire account and start over. Seeing I had to do that, I figured I might as well go with another company. I like the app itself, which you can try out without the UP devices using just your iPhone, so you can find out if you like the way the application coaches you and how it works. I use the app to track my steps, goals, sleep patterns, and eating habits. It even creates a food word cloud of all the food you have eaten in the past 7 days to show how you are doing. They also score the foot from 1 to 10 based on how healthy what you are eating. I have noticed that the tracker does not count as many steps as the iPhone, and I'm currently looking into why that is so. I'm not sure if it is the iPhone, or the tracker at this moment. Over a days time there is a 1,000 step difference between the two devices, so hopefully I can get that resolved and find out which device (if any) is accurate. In all, the device is nice, wears comfortably, and is easy to put on an off. The battery last over a week easy, and is very easy to charge.

Loved original Up but the casing stretched on both I owned (Jawbone excellent on replacing that within the year warranty). When ready to upgrade, opted for this model over Up 3 given cost savings and pending release of Up 4 with better heart rate monitor. Have worn daily for over a month, and other than a few times where the syncing with phone was off or the bracelet wouldn't activate with repeated tapping, have been pleased. Even in the instances mentioned, have never had to completely resync the bracelet. Usually, if I know there is battery life and that's not low, just giving the bracelet some rest while I walk around will then result in bracelet "waking" upon tapping and working as normal. If battery less than a day, this may happen more frequently. Battery life has been about 7 full days, so am pleased with that. The magnetic charging is interesting and worries me it may not last given the surface for charging on bracelet underexposed is exposed to your wrist, and therefore, some level of water, sweat, debris, etc., but so far no problems at all. Have had no problems with bracelet coming unhooked as others reported, though my co-worker also has an Up 2 and has had that happen. Of note, I wear my bracelet snug to my wrist and I think this helps in that regard. She wears hers loose, and it gets hung and slides up/down her wrist, which may create enough friction to slowly cause the bracelet to slide open. Also, I noted she also doesn't always wear the bracelet in the direction provided in the Jawbone video. I do ... open loop end of bracelet comes down over inside of arm when putting bracelet on. Recommend anyone who has purchased, go beyond the little quick start info in package and watch the short videos that are recommended. Only other issue is that bracelet will sometimes switch to sleep mode when bumped by my watch (yes, I'm old enough that I wear a watch still). Interestingly, this only happens when I wear my more fitted, smaller Fossil vs a larger chronograph. This isn't generally a big problem as the band vibrates and is easily changed back to awake mode, and I readjust my watch. I've been pleased so far, and the Up app and smart coach cannot be beat. The bracelet features do still need some work, but hope we see that in versions currently in development.

The UP2 is a great upgrade from the UP24 in the fact that it is much smaller and feels lighter on the wrist. But for someone who enjoyed the ease of just snapping the UP24 on, the clasp mechanism on the UP2 is a bit tiresome to get used to. Still, given UP24 is now discontinued, the band is a good upgrade and gets the job done. Waiting for more colors than the 2 available.

I did not buy this because I wanted a health tracker. I probably could have just used the S health app on my phone. It was part of a deal for getting the Galaxy S6 phone so I thought I would give it a try. I have found it to be a nice device though. I figured I would start tracking my steps of how much I walk. I have back issues so exercise is difficult for me and I was going to find something to help with certain things like the S health app but once I received this I have been watching it daily. I haven't played around a lot as of yet with all the features. Just been using the step and sleep tracking. I think what makes me want to stick with it is how I don't have to have the band on to track my steps. The app you install to sync to your phone will track your steps as well so days when I am on campus or doing something where I don't need to have the jawbone on my wrist and have my phone in my pocket it will still track my steps. That is why I am giving it a 4 star. If I have more knowledge on the rest of the features I might bump it to 5 but I have not gotten that far as of yet. I do not know the cost so I cannot compare that to others for you or if it is worth it. I can just say I am enjoying it so far and would recommend it to someone is going to buy one on their own

I love my Jawbone Up. Its perfect for anyone, from beginners to more advanced. I absolutely love the app as well- my boyfriend got the Up3 and i love being able to duel eachother. Its probably one of my favorite things. His mom got a Fitbit but is trading it in for an Up because she wasnt happy with it and so it will be compatible with ours. Having duels/teammates is so motivating and the Up/the Up app has definitely helped me and my boyfriend achieve a healtheir lifestyle. I also love that anyone can download the app for free and be on your team or duel you using just their smart phone. Its a great way to introduce the Up to people, and one of my friends that I got to download the app has since decided to buy the Up2 as well. Its perfect for a dedicated workout day-to-day person, or a beginner just trying to track their steps and get into being more active. I should also mention that the automatic sleep tracking is awesome. I find it so interesting and its one of the first things I do when I wake up in the morning. I cannot recomend the Up2 enough. Its everything you need, and a very reasonable price. I love my Up2!!!!!!!!!!
