    Great after tweaking

After having read countless review on the 3.1 system, I decided to buy the 5.1 system. They’re great, but require tweaking, and downloading the manual from the website. The speakers themselves only come with a quick start guide. Bass is thunderous as advertised, and described in other reviews but you can adjust it. I want to point out that I decided on buying these after reading countless reviews here on Best Buy’s site and through Amazon. Best Buy didn’t have the 5.1 system in stock anywhere so I bought through Amazon. It was the reviews that helped. I went to a local Best Buy which an absolutely worthless experience. The bass module was not even hooked up. I asked two sales people and one said it was by design. I asked if it could be set up and they said no. Then they recommended the Klipsch for the same price range. I have to stress.. demoing a sound bar on a 3.1 system with no bass doesn’t help. One person tried, then the other sales person said it was by design that they didn’t have it set up. This honestly is unexcusable to me. I understand if they don’t want people playing around with volume levels but because of this, I could not make an informed buying decision as I didn’t hear what the product had to offer. That being said, I still decided to purchase the JBL system and I’m glad I did. The reviews were mostly right. It’s important with this system, like with any surround system, to configure it properly. Make sure you have Dolby or DTS encoding set, make sure you set all your sources for 5.1 surround sound. This made a huge difference for me. Games can become thunderous. Switching Forza 7 to 5.1 from Stereo led to a real difference as other games. This goes the same for TV, Movie, and Music content. After that, you can adjust the volume of the rears. It’s not a super high-end system but it IS worth the money and a good value. I had a BOSE 3-2-1 system for years, but this is actually better then that, and a far higher value. Unless you’re willing to spend around $1500 or more for high end bar, sub, and surrounds, this is the set to get in my opinion. Very satisfied!

Amazing Innovative Design - AWESOME SOUND

After buying my new Samsung 65" OLED tv earlier this year, I needed to upgrade my old soundbar to match. I shopped many of the "midrange" brands ($499-$799) including Yamaha, LBL, Bose, and Nakamichi as well as the usual lower-cost TV brands (Samsung, Visio & LG). The JBL Bar 5.1 just came out and I was BLOWN AWAY by the quality and innovative design.. Rock solid construction and easy to set-up. The center channel (voice) is excellent and the 10" sub delivers AWESOME tight bass. The innovative wireless surround speakers are great for movie night with a Blue-Ray DVD - They are so easy to detach and attach. It is a essentially a home theater on demand!. I think it is fair to say it compares to many soundbars costing 2-3 times as much. Might be bit expensive for some but if you spent $2,500+ on your TV, I promise you will be delighted with how much better it makes your viewing experience.

I bought a JBL 5.1 sound bar and took it back to Best Buy because I was getting a loud buzzing sound and a loud popping sound. I had to adjust the control down but then I didn't have the sound I wanted. I moved the woofer across the room but no better. Best Buy gave me another one and it does the same thing. Absolutely not satisfied.
