I mainly use it while playing games and its an awsome system for that. I also like the ports to hook up my ipod and it easily switches between modes to play through the tv or my ipod or bluetooth whichever you want. Sub stays connected to soundbar even when turned off. Awesome sounding system thats easy to use.

I live in an apartment so I've had the Denon s 302 for years. Tired of the wires and since the subwoofer started crackling I decided to go wireless. I have my 55" Samsung table mounted so I went with the JBL since it doesn't block my screen and the reviews were very good. The sound quality is good but surround sound it's not. Not even close. The big issue I have is how poorly thought out the inputs are. I use Monster HDMI cables and the layout has forced me to bend the cables which will most likely damage them. Even wall mounting won't fix this basic design flaw. The sound quality is good for TV and iPod. The volume jumps when you switch from DVR to live TV randomly. I guess my expectations were too high but I'm keeping it.

5 Stars for sound. If your using your TV speakers this JBL will bring your flat panel to life. You will rekindle with your TV and movies. I hooked up the soundbar HDMI arc to HDMI arc on TV. Bluray and Cable box strait to TV HDMI. Didn't use any of the 3 HDMI ports on soundbar. Both my Armstrong cable remote and my Panasonic TV remote paired up to the soundbar. My remotes work the same way they did before the soundbar. Don't have to use the JBL remote. Only complaint is the wall mount. Flimsy and doesn't secure to soundbar. Relies on weight of speaker. Makes it hard to mount to the bottom of a wall mount TV with a soundbar mount although it can be done with some engineering. Very satisfied. Movies are much more immersive.

I bought this system....and man the sound is great. You will not find a better system for the price, and the base is overpowering if you want it to be (adjustable). Input options are great, and i use it for a HDMI multi in for all my video game systems. After i bought the system, i read many online reviews on best buy and amazon about the issues some people have with this system.....I read enough to spook me into going back to the store the next day and adding the warranty. And it was a good thing i did. 30 days into my purchase, the sub went out and the soundbar started "crackling". I took it back to Best Buy, and without hassle they gave me a new one. Awesome system, I would still recommend it. Even with the added geek squad plan cost, it is still an outstanding value.

I down sized from a bose cinemate system. Tired of all the wires that come with a 5 speaker system. I chose the jbl because of the Harman speakers. I am extremely happy so far. It has great sound and the sub really thumps. Was a little worried when I watched the first Blu Ray movie but it surpassed my expectations. Rocked my living room is what it did. Would have given it 5 stars but could not get my directv remote to program to be able to control the volume. Called their help desk but still no luck. They also need to make the remote that comes with the unit a little bigger. Other than that I am very happy with my purchase.

Awesome Bass - and it uses Bluetooth technology (can unplug from the TV, place outside on the deck and stream music from my phone- wireless sub means great sound (awesome really) and it too uses Bluetooth so no ugly wires. Sound quality is great Best if used with a Television that has an optical audio cable input... eliminates the delay between picture and audio.. just remember to take the protective caps off the tips before attempting to plug (one can't really see them). All in all awesome equipment for the price.. would buy it again.

I ordered this JBL online and went for the open box model while on sale. It arrived rather quickly and was easy to set-up. I was torn at first between this one and a Polk Audio system. The JBL has bluetooth and the Polk does not. The Bluetooth was easy to set-up. I have a decent size living room and it does a great job of filling the room with sound.I also like the Bass Boost feature on the remote. Comes in handy when watching an action movie or live sports event. P.S. do yourself a favor, grab the open box and save yourself some $$.

I purchased this unit after listening to as many different sound systems that I could while keeeping my eye on prices. For the price it is a great sounding system. Blue tooth function great option for playing music. Only downfall is remote control is small & a little cheezy. But overall I really enjoy the quality sound.

    Dramatic Improvement

I replaced a HTB (Home Theater in a Box) with this unit and was impressed. The HTB had a small, unpowered "subwoofer" that was fairly impressive given the size and lack of power, but with the system pushing 1000 watts, it was easily overwhelmed by movie audio even at lower volumes. This unit was pretty pricey but given the brand reputation and improvement with the subwoofer, I had no doubt it would be an upgrade. And an upgrade it was! Really like the Bluetooth functionality which completely negates any need for a separate stereo system in my living room. The only issue I have is that there is a "crackle" once in a great while, and I'm not even sure it's due to the soundbar; it may be from one of my other components. I'm sure experienced audiophiles could find some faults with this unit, but for the vast majority of us this will blow your socks off! I'm impressed and happy with my purchase.

I have had this sound bar for about 2 months. This is a great sound system that can easily fill your average sized living room. The woofer is very powerful and will drown out the sound bar if not adjusted properly. The only problem I have had with this system has been the Bluetooth connectivity. I live in an apartment complex and I have come home on more than one occasion to my speaker blasting music when none of my roommates were home. Even when the sound bar is in standby someone can still turn it on and pair to it using their phone if they are close enough to it; in other words neighbors. As far as I can tell there is no way to change the security code on it so the only way to prevent this is by manually turning off the switch in the back of the sound bar every time after use. Other than this everything works perfectly as expected.

Nice sound bar. Very easy to operate, and easy to set up.sub was easy to pair with bar. Movies sound great on this soundbar . Close to a 5.1 soroundsound. Still not there yet but sounds great. The bluetooth was easy to set up. And easy to use. Sub has a nice mello deep sound. I have soundbar obove. The fireplace under my samaung 60" HDTV . And sub behind couch under a corner table. Samsung and JBL soundbar go hand and hand. Good pair. Getting ready to buy another for the bedroom, and one for the garage. Very happy with this buy.

First of all, it's JBL...can't go wrong! I did listen to all the soundbar/sub woofer combos in the $300-$500 range and this was the best by far. The slightly cheaper JBL system had problems with the display setup so I couldn't listen to that one however this unit definitely had the goods. Crystal clear audio, the sub sounded fat, it really was no contest. I've been a professional musician for 30+ yrs and I do have a decent set of ears so there you have it. Ease of installation...various input options (HDMI, Optical, RCA) and since I didn't have an extra HDMI cable, I used the supplied Optical Cable. Plugged in the sub, it paired up effortlessly, and I was up and running. Paired the system via Bluetooth to my iPhone/iTunes library and I was good to go. It's so nice to hear all the nuances of a well recorded & produced piece of music through this system - I'm hearing parts I had completely forgotten about! JBL has always been an industry leader and innovator; they cost a little more than their competition but...you get what you pay for.

The reason we selected this particular sound bar was because of the bass. Yes, it's all about the bass. My wife likes to hear and feel the bass, and this system does that. Hooking it up to our Samsung TV and having it work well does require using the system's remote to turn it on first and then turn on the TV (connected to DirecTV box) It does turn off with a single button of the DirectTV remote, but can't seem to get it to work the opposite way. For me, not a big deal. Like I said, it's all about the BASS.

This sound bar is close to perfect. The sound is all I hoped for and then some. It delivers crisp, balanced sound with very clean and powerful bass. As far as performance goes, I could not ask for more but options are extremely limited. The input options are great but beyond that you can't adjust the equalization individually or even with presets. All you can change is the bass and the surround sound( you have two options for each). I would recommend this system as long as you are ok with almost non existent sound customization.
